| Spec / Rating | Climate / Risk Factor + What It Solves |
|---|---|
| Wind resistance: 120+ mph (193+ kph) | Extreme wind, hurricanes, storm uplift: full interlocking attachment helps prevent blow-offs, edge lifting, and panel loss in high-gust events. |
| Fire rating: Class A (with proper assembly) | Wildfire, embers, radiant heat, chimney sparks: non-combustible roof assembly provides the highest residential fire protection rating. |
| Hail resistance: UL 2218 Class 4 | Hail and impact debris: highest impact classification; resists cracking, splitting, and surface loss common with asphalt under hail strikes. |

What our customers are saying:
Your home is your greatest investment, sheltering you from the storms. Don’t nickel and dime yourself when choosing a roof, you get what you pay for. We chose Interlock aluminum roofing for our house, and are totally pleased with it. Aluminum doesn’t rust period. The current rage of steel roofing is a racket preying on uninformed consumers who want something for next to nothing. Steel roofs are coated to prevent rust. However, once these coatings wear off rust sets in. I have personally seen an 18 year-old steel roof with significant rusting after the coating was gone. Do yourself a favor, get an Interlock aluminum roof. Dean Landers 5 star review June 9/2026 Janesville WI
I had Interlock put on a beautiful red slate roof 17 years ago.The roof still looks beautiful. 5 years ago, I had them also re-roof my garage with the same type of slate. The roofs look gorgeous and I have no maintenance whatsoever.I get complements all the time. The guy whom I contracted with was named "Tim' but has since died. He was a really nice guy. Back in 2009, the roof was much cheaper. ( I actually paid more for the garage 5 years ago!) I am extremely happy with the roofs. The guys did a wonderful job, replacing rotted boards where necessary. They also told me about very cheap gutters I could buy at Menards instead of those ridiculously - priced "special" gutter systems. I bought them and they placed them on my buildings. This home will go to my daughter one day; I do not want her to have to lift a finger. Note that I had an asphalt roof previously. It lasted only 12 years. The shingles curled up under the sun and cracked. They looked terrible. I can honestly say that these metals roofs by Interlock are very much worth what you pay for them. They will last a lifetime with almost no maintenance. Instead of replacing a roof every 15 years and paying lots for asphalt or fiberglass, their metal roofs last very long and you will never have to re- roof again.
One and Done! Roof should be good for our lifetime and our kids lifetime and possibly our grandkids. Keep the farm in the family :)
Resident at the home was dissatisfied with the clean up as a mess was left on the deck area.
It's too early to tell. The roof looks good and has held up against rain for one month. Scheduling the project was very challenging. It took lots of pushing and back and forth to establish a two week window, months out, for the installation. It took from October until August the next year from start to finish. This most likely wouldn't be an issue for most people, but my roof was already leaking and my work schedule is abnormal. The installation team was excellent. Nice people, clear interactions and expectations.
The crew did a very good job. They were very cordial and answered all my questions very well. The timeframe for when it was going to be completed fell short of my expectations. I don't know if they can do anything about it, but we are still getting remnants from when they cut. I just picked up another piece today. When they are cutting, they are probably leaving those things on the roof somewhere, and eventually they blow down and are sharp. I worry about people walking on them.
The crew was great and easy to work with. They need to advertise their project, and it would be great to have that sign out front. I have had people ask about where I got it done. Everyone was very polite, courteous, and helpful. They answered all of my questions.
They can improve their communication after signing the contract with a salesperson. There were a few months where I didn't have a direct contact to check in for materials during the timeframe of the project because I had a couple of projects going on at the same time with the solar panels being installed. It all worked out, but I think that would be an area to improve in. It looks beautiful, and I love it!
The communication could be improved, as well as the follow-up. I wonder how responsive they will be in the future. Their work was amazing but the communication wasn't. Communication was very poor, but the roof is amazing and its quality good.
Better communication around delays in start date. I would have been find with delays if they were transparent and kept to date as we passed what we were told multiple times.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Martinsville
The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Martinsville, Wisconsin. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Martinsville.
Does metal roofing handle heavy snow and ice in Wisconsin winters?
Yes. Martinsville receives about 89 cm of snow annually across roughly 84 freeze-thaw cycles per year—conditions that crack asphalt and wood shingles. Interlock's four-way interlocking aluminum panels shed snow and ice efficiently because the smooth, hard surface resists accumulation. The lightweight design (Slate at 0.41 lb/sq ft) means no snow-load reinforcement is needed, even during Wisconsin's heaviest seasons. Aluminum's oxide layer withstands repeated freeze-thaw stress without degradation, making it reliable through decades of winter weather.
Can a metal roof rust? What about salt air or moisture in Wisconsin?
Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron. Interlock uses roofing-grade 3105-H24 and 3003-H24 aluminum alloy (ASTM B209), which forms a self-healing oxide layer when scratched or exposed. The Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish is applied to both sides of every panel and is warranted 30 years against chalking and fading. Martinsville's 781 mm annual rainfall and humid freeze-thaw environment pose no corrosion risk to aluminum the way they do to steel or untreated wood. Interlock panels have performed for over 25 years in coastal salt-air installations without rust.
How do metal roofs hold up to Wisconsin's freeze-thaw cycles?
Martinsville experiences about 84 freeze-thaw days annually—a grueling test that degrades asphalt, splits wood shakes, and crazes tile. Aluminum's crystalline structure and lack of porosity means it absorbs no water and expands uniformly, so cracking and spalling do not occur. The four-way interlocking design accommodates any minor thermal movement without panel separation or seam failure. ESR-1790 code evaluation confirms Interlock's durability in cold climates. After 25+ years of field performance across North American freeze-thaw zones, including Antarctic installations, the material proves reliably unaffected by Wisconsin's winter stress.
Will metal roofing blow off in Wisconsin wind storms?
Interlock panels are warranted to resist winds up to 120 mph when installed to specification. Martinsville's typical gusts reach about 104 km/h (65 mph), well below that threshold. The four-way interlocking system creates a unified structural matrix that distributes wind load across the entire roof plane rather than stressing individual fasteners. Each panel locks securely to its neighbors; no panel can lift independently. UL testing and 25 years of real-world performance in high-wind regions confirm the system's integrity. For Wisconsin's wind profile, Interlock delivers wind security that exceeds local conditions.
Does metal roofing survive hail? Can I get insurance discounts?
Interlock carries UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the warranty covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Many insurers recognize metal roofing as a loss-resistant choice and offer premium reductions of 10–20%, depending on your policy. Aluminum's non-combustible nature and superior impact resistance make it an attractive underwriting proposition. Check with your agent to confirm your local discounts. Martinsville's severe-weather exposure makes Class 4 impact rating especially valuable insurance against hail damage claims.
Do I need to reinforce my roof frame for metal roofing?
No. Interlock's Slate profile weighs only 0.41 lb/sq ft; the Mediterranean Tile—which visually mimics clay tile weighing 10–15 lb/sq ft—weighs just 0.59 lb/sq ft, about 96% lighter. Most existing Wisconsin roof frames can support Interlock without any structural reinforcement. This lightweight advantage also means the roof can often be installed directly over existing asphalt shingles, eliminating costly tear-off labor and landfill disposal. Lighter loading reduces stress on trusses, rafters, and foundations over the roof's 50+ year lifespan.
What's the warranty, and how long does Interlock really last?
The Guardian warranty offers lifetime limited, non-prorated material coverage to the original owner—no hidden degradation schedule. It covers rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and impact-resistance loss. The warranty is one-time transferable, granting the next owner 50 years from completion, a significant resale advantage. Alunar coating is separately warranted 30 years against fading and chalking per ASTM standards. Field installations from 1998 onward demonstrate 25+ years of verified performance. Interlock panels installed in 2001 in Wisconsin are functioning without degradation, positioning this as realistically your last roof.
Will a metal roof reduce my cooling costs in summer?
energy-efficient Interlock colors deliver thermal emissivity of 0.84 and solar reflectance up to 0.55 (Aged Copper Penny), meaning they reflect rather than absorb summer heat. Martinsville receives about 3,089 sunshine hours yearly; reflective roofing reduces the solar load transmitted into the attic and living spaces. Asphalt absorbs and re-radiates that heat; aluminum reflects it. Cooling savings depend on your HVAC usage, but Cool Roof Rating Council testing confirms measurable reductions in peak roof temperature. Over a 50-year lifespan, energy savings compound alongside zero maintenance costs.
Is metal roofing worth the upfront cost compared to asphalt shingles?
Upfront cost is higher, but total lifecycle cost favors metal decisively. Asphalt shingles last 15–25 years in Wisconsin's harsh freeze-thaw environment (84 cycles annually), requiring two or three replacements over 50 years. Each replacement costs labor, disposal, and your time. Interlock is your final roof: one installation, lifetime warranty, minimal maintenance. Alunar's 30-year fade warranty, zero rust risk, UL Class 4 hail coverage, and potential insurance discounts offset initial expense. Resale value increases. Energy savings accumulate. For homeowners planning to stay 15+ years or sell eventually, metal roofing delivers the best long-term value.
