Your home is your greatest investment, sheltering you from the storms. Don’t nickel and dime yourself when choosing a roof, you get what you pay for. We chose Interlock aluminum roofing for our house, and are totally pleased with it. Aluminum doesn’t rust period. The current rage of steel roofing is a racket preying on uninformed consumers who want something for next to nothing. Steel roofs are coated to prevent rust. However, once these coatings wear off rust sets in. I have personally seen an 18 year-old steel roof with significant rusting after the coating was gone. Do yourself a favor, get an Interlock aluminum roof. Dean Landers 5 star review June 9/2026 Janesville WI

I had Interlock put on a beautiful red slate roof 17 years ago.The roof still looks beautiful. 5 years ago, I had them also re-roof my garage with the same type of slate. The roofs look gorgeous and I have no maintenance whatsoever.I get complements all the time. The guy whom I contracted with was named "Tim' but has since died. He was a really nice guy. Back in 2009, the roof was much cheaper. ( I actually paid more for the garage 5 years ago!) I am extremely happy with the roofs. The guys did a wonderful job, replacing rotted boards where necessary. They also told me about very cheap gutters I could buy at Menards instead of those ridiculously - priced "special" gutter systems. I bought them and they placed them on my buildings. This home will go to my daughter one day; I do not want her to have to lift a finger. Note that I had an asphalt roof previously. It lasted only 12 years. The shingles curled up under the sun and cracked. They looked terrible. I can honestly say that these metals roofs by Interlock are very much worth what you pay for them. They will last a lifetime with almost no maintenance. Instead of replacing a roof every 15 years and paying lots for asphalt or fiberglass, their metal roofs last very long and you will never have to re- roof again.

Review: May 17, 2017

Our experience with having our Interlock roof installed was exceptional. It was installed during the hottest days of the year, and none of our neighbors could believe the installers were working so hard during the hot, muggy weather. They finished several days ahead of schedule and left the yard clean and neat, even after a complete tear-off of three layers of roofing. One day during the installation, we had a rain storm, and the installers all took shelter in their vehicles. I noticed that we had a leak in a spot that had clearly had leaks before we bought the house. When I pointed it out to the installers, they went up the ladder in the pouring rain, found the cause of the problem (which, again, was a pre-existing problem, not one due to the Interlock installation) and fixed it on the spot. The service was exceptional.

Review: May 17, 2017

We purchased our roof in 2009 and as you can see from the pictures taken in May of 2017, our roof looks as new as the day we bought it. Here are the things we have noticed most about our Interlock Lifetime Roof over the last 8 years. It keeps our house much cooler in the summer than the asphalt roof we used to have. It really sheds snow, and the snow guards work great. We never need to use a snow rake. We love the durability and the curb appeal. Greg Weber our representative, who we were enthused to learn, is still with the company. When we saw him in 2009 he laid out all the variables in a professional way and our Interlock Roof has lived up to all of our expectations and promises he made. All companies promise results, service, and quality. Interlock delivers.

Review: May 16, 2017

The installation was super smooth. Every installer was courteous and professional. We get lots of compliments, and people stop by all the time to admire it. One of the biggest misconceptions about metal roofing is people think it’s loud. Our Interlock roof is very silent. The only way I know if it’s raining is if I look out a window. Also, the snow just slides off. We are also in a wind tunnel area, and we have never lost an Interlock shingle, and we have had the roof for many years. We were so pleased with our Interlock roof that we put the same roof on our lake home in northern Wisconsin. We get a lot more snow up there and the Interlock’s snow-shedding performance capabilities are second to none on that roof, too!

Review: May 16, 2017

First off, the installation crew was great! They worked very hard, took short breaks, and completed the job very efficiently. Greg Weber, our sales representative, told us an Interlock Roof was more energy efficient than asphalt, and one of the major things we noticed over the years is how much cooler our home office upstairs is in the summertime and warmer it is in the wintertime. It’s a dramatic difference from our old asphalt roof. We have had a few neighbors even question why we invested more in an Interlock roof than a typical asphalt roof, and we always smile and say, “Everybody complains about spending money. Do you want to complain about it once or multiple times, and do you want to be all in to have the best, or not in, and hope for the best.” Thank you, Interlock!

Review: May 16, 2017

Dear Interlock Lifetime Roofing Systems, The installation was terrific. Jessie and his crew were very nice, polite, and clean and worked together like a well-oiled machine. If I was to have work done on my home for any type of project, this is the team I would recommend and would want to work on my house. Greg Weber, my sales representative, answered all my questions, set the proper expectations, and over delivered in every aspect. We had a major rainstorm shortly after the installation, and we noticed no difference in sound at all. Our Interlock roof is the talk of the neighborhood.

Review: May 16, 2017

Dear Interlock Lifetime Roofing Systems: We purchased our Interlock Lifetime Roof in June 2014. We are very happy with the look, durability of the material, and finish. After a snowfall, the heat of the sun will warm the roof and allow the snow to shed from the roof. We have a great sense of security, knowing it can withstand higher winds than conventional asphalt. In fact, our neighbors lost many shingles in the last major wind storm, and our Interlock roof proved to be the high wind resistance product it is with all shingles intact. We love the fact it’s more reliable and has peace of mind knowing it has lots of longevity and will look brand new not only now but down the road. We also received a discount on our homeowner’s insurance. Overall, we were very satisfied with our sales representative Greg Weber, the company, the service, and the product.

Review: May 16, 2017

We have been do-it-yourselfer homeowners our whole lives. We are very handy and capable when it comes to home improvements and appreciate craftsmanship and quality. And that’s what Interlock Lifetime Roofing Systems provided us with our roof. Craftsmanship and quality. Plus, durability, beauty, and experience from a company that manufactures and certify install its own product. That is something, a company that makes its own product, that was very important to us, and no other company in our market offered that, except Interlock. Another thing that was important was we didn’t want to have to deal with rust because many steel metal roofs look good new but look old and hideous down the road because of fading and rusting. Interlock is aluminum. So, it won’t rust, and it achieves and exceeds the highest rating of hail resistance. So, it’s like we said earlier – super durable! Jessie and his crew were super and hard working. We were amazed by their work ethic. That’s something that’s becoming rare nowadays. Also, we were told by a competitor that Greg Weber and Interlock would be high-pressure. That was the furthest thing from the truth. Greg was polite, personable, and knowledgeable and helped us sift through the “lesser quality, cheaper installation, sales gimmicky and overly aggressive” competitors. He provided us with a detailed range of the competition by laying out all the variables so we could make an intelligent comparison and decision. Greg helped save us a lot of time from all the other companies in our market selling what everyone else is selling or just selling stuff and making promises they can’t keep. All the asphalt guys want you to believe that their products will last, and all the steel companies want you to believe their products won’t rust, and everybody knows… That’s Just Not True! Interlock has proven itself for over four decades. That’s Impressive. That’s why we went with them, Jessie and Greg.

In March 2017 we had an Interlock Lifetime Roof installed. Greg Weber, the salesman, was not pushy. We were very impressed with his salesmanship and the product. He also offered to have the Interlock product put on our wishing well in the front yard. That was something we really appreciated. The clean-up was excellent! Many neighbors and people who " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">walk by the house have noticed the roof and asked a lot of questions. We have gotten lots of compliments!

Review: April 25, 2017

We visited the booth Interlock had at the Remodelling Show at State Fair Park. We got a lot of excellent information there and left our number for a call-back. We did receive the call back promptly and got an appointment right away. The estimator showed up on time and thoroughly explained the process, the product choices and the costs. We signed up for a new metal roof that evening because the advantages were so many, and the expense over time was not much different from regular shingles. This metal roof will probably outlive us! The actual work didn’t start for about two months because the company was very busy, but removing the old layers of shingles was the first process. This was done in a day, and the waterproofing membrane went on. The roofing materials were supposed to be delivered in a couple of days, which unfortunately didn’t happen. Instead, a heavy, rainy week intervened, and we did get water in our kitchen. It took a while to get someone to call me back and that was frustrating because it damaged our kitchen ceiling. Ultimately, though, I did get a call, and the work was expedited to the following day. The roofers did the entire installation in one day and did a great job. The roof is beautiful, and we have many people stopping and looking at the wonderful work and superior materials. I know the company will honor their promise to pay for the damage to the kitchen. Once that is done, all is well. The experience wasn’t perfect, but it was as close as mother nature and shipping glitches allowed.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Vienna

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Vienna, Wisconsin. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Vienna.

How does metal roofing handle Vienna's heavy snow and freeze-thaw cycles?

Interlock aluminum panels shed snow efficiently because their smooth, hard surface prevents ice dams that trap meltwater on asphalt. Vienna averages about 89 cm of snow annually with roughly 84 freeze-thaw days per year—conditions that crack and curl traditional shingles. Aluminum's non-porous oxide layer expands and contracts uniformly, resisting the stress that degrades asphalt in repeated warming and freezing. The four-way interlocking system keeps panels locked even when thermal movement occurs, maintaining the roof's weather seal through seasons of expansion and contraction.

Why won't an aluminum metal roof rust in Wisconsin's wet climate?

Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron—the element that oxidizes and breaks down. Instead, aluminum forms a microscopically thin, self-healing oxide layer that protects the metal underneath. When scratched or exposed, this oxide layer regenerates naturally, sealing the damage. Vienna receives about 781 mm of rain yearly, yet Interlock panels installed in coastal salt-air environments and an Antarctic research station prove aluminum withstands sustained moisture exposure far harsher than Wisconsin weather. The roofing-grade 3105-H24 alloy plus Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish on both sides adds a 30-year warranty against corrosion.

Can my home's frame support metal roofing without reinforcement?

Yes—Interlock metal roofing is so light that almost every Vienna home needs zero structural work. The Mediterranean Tile profile, which replicates traditional clay or concrete tile, weighs only about 0.59 lb/sq ft and is roughly 96% lighter than the real material it resembles. Shake runs about 0.58 lb/sq ft, and Slate is even lighter at 0.41 lb/sq ft. Because metal roofing typically weighs less than the asphalt shingles already on your roof, it installs directly over your existing roof in most cases, eliminating tear-off labor and debris disposal while avoiding any need for costly frame upgrades.

Will metal roofing panels blow off in Wisconsin wind and hail storms?

Interlock's four-way interlocking aluminum panels are warranted to resist sustained wind speeds up to 120 mph, far exceeding Vienna's typical peak gusts around 104 km/h (65 mph). The mechanical lock between panels prevents individual pieces from lifting or detaching, even in the severe gust events that can damage or remove asphalt shingles. Additionally, the panels carry a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches, giving you protection that extends beyond wind alone to the ice and debris that accompany severe storms.

How does aluminum roofing survive repeated freeze-thaw cycles?

Aluminum's crystalline structure and non-porous surface allow it to expand and contract uniformly through freeze-thaw stress without cracking, splitting, or curling—failure modes common in asphalt, wood, and clay roofs. Vienna's 84 annual freeze-thaw days impose relentless thermal cycling, yet Interlock panels have performed in Antarctic research stations and across North American freeze-heavy climates since 1998 without material degradation. The Alunar finish bonds to both panel sides, preventing moisture penetration that weakens asphalt over time. This uniform behavior, combined with four-way interlocking, keeps the roof's watertight seal intact across thousands of thermal cycles.

What does the Interlock metal roof warranty actually cover?

The Guardian lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty covers the original owner for the roof's life—rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. This transfers once to the next owner, with a 50-year term from completion, adding measurable resale value in Vienna's competitive real estate market. No other roof type—asphalt, wood, or tile—offers a true lifetime guarantee. Because Interlock aluminum cannot rust, rot, or split, and its coating is warranted 30 years against fading and chalking, the conditions that trigger claim settlements simply do not develop, making this the last roof most homeowners will need to install.

Do reflective metal roofs really save money on cooling in Wisconsin?

Yes—energy-efficient Interlock colors reflect solar heat that dark asphalt absorbs, reducing cooling load on summer days when Vienna receives about 3089 hours of sunshine annually. The aluminum panels achieve thermal emissivity of 0.84 and initial solar reflectance up to 0.55 in Aged Copper Penny, meaning they shed heat rather than storing it. In a state with moderate summers, this translates to fewer air-conditioning runtime hours and lower electricity costs. The Cool Roof Rating Council rating confirms the effect. Combined with reduced maintenance and no tear-off waste, energy savings offset a portion of the material cost over the roof's 40+ year life.

Is metal roofing worth the upfront cost compared to asphalt shingles?

Metal roofing costs more initially but eliminates the replacement cycle that makes asphalt expensive over time. Most Vienna homeowners install two to three asphalt roofs in a 50-year span—each involving labor, tearoff fees, and landfill disposal—whereas Interlock aluminum installs once and transfers to the next owner with 50 years remaining on warranty. energy-efficiency reflectance and minimal maintenance reduce operating costs, and the roof installs over your existing shingles, eliminating one tear-off labor bill immediately. After accounting for avoided replacements, energy savings, and zero maintenance, metal roofing becomes the lower-cost choice by the second decade and delivers the last roof you will ever buy.

How much maintenance does a metal roof require in Wisconsin winters?

Metal roofing requires virtually no maintenance—no shingle replacement, no sealant reapplication, no wood treatment, no algae or moss scrubbing. Interlock aluminum will not rot, split, curl, or degrade, so the daily temperature swings and 89 cm of annual snow in Vienna do not trigger the maintenance cycle that asphalt demands. The CALGreen-verified design eliminates the leaf gutters, gutter guards, and moss prevention products homeowners buy for traditional roofs. Rainwater naturally sheds; panel edges are engineered to resist edge corrosion. Over a 50-year ownership or longer, maintenance-free operation saves thousands in labor and materials while protecting your home's interior from the water damage that maintenance-heavy roofs eventually develop.

How long does installation take, and can you install over my old roof?

Installation typically requires one to three days depending on roof size and complexity, with Interlock's four-way panel system speeding the fastening and sealing process. Yes, metal roofing installs directly over most existing asphalt roofs without removal—the existing layer provides underlayment, and the new panels sit 1–2 inches above it, creating an air gap. This eliminates tear-off labor, disposal fees, and the weather risk of a bare roof. Your installer secures panels to rafters through the old shingles, maintaining your home's weather protection throughout. For Vienna homeowners, avoiding asphalt tear-off saves time and money while keeping installation cleaner and faster than traditional shingle replacement.
