What our customers are saying:
Your home is your greatest investment, sheltering you from the storms. Don’t nickel and dime yourself when choosing a roof, you get what you pay for. We chose Interlock aluminum roofing for our house, and are totally pleased with it. Aluminum doesn’t rust period. The current rage of steel roofing is a racket preying on uninformed consumers who want something for next to nothing. Steel roofs are coated to prevent rust. However, once these coatings wear off rust sets in. I have personally seen an 18 year-old steel roof with significant rusting after the coating was gone. Do yourself a favor, get an Interlock aluminum roof. Dean Landers 5 star review June 9/2026 Janesville WI
I had Interlock put on a beautiful red slate roof 17 years ago.The roof still looks beautiful. 5 years ago, I had them also re-roof my garage with the same type of slate. The roofs look gorgeous and I have no maintenance whatsoever.I get complements all the time. The guy whom I contracted with was named "Tim' but has since died. He was a really nice guy. Back in 2009, the roof was much cheaper. ( I actually paid more for the garage 5 years ago!) I am extremely happy with the roofs. The guys did a wonderful job, replacing rotted boards where necessary. They also told me about very cheap gutters I could buy at Menards instead of those ridiculously - priced "special" gutter systems. I bought them and they placed them on my buildings. This home will go to my daughter one day; I do not want her to have to lift a finger. Note that I had an asphalt roof previously. It lasted only 12 years. The shingles curled up under the sun and cracked. They looked terrible. I can honestly say that these metals roofs by Interlock are very much worth what you pay for them. They will last a lifetime with almost no maintenance. Instead of replacing a roof every 15 years and paying lots for asphalt or fiberglass, their metal roofs last very long and you will never have to re- roof again.
Our experience with having our Interlock roof installed was exceptional. It was installed during the hottest days of the year, and none of our neighbors could believe the installers were working so hard during the hot, muggy weather. They finished several days ahead of schedule and left the yard clean and neat, even after a complete tear-off of three layers of roofing. One day during the installation, we had a rain storm, and the installers all took shelter in their vehicles. I noticed that we had a leak in a spot that had clearly had leaks before we bought the house. When I pointed it out to the installers, they went up the ladder in the pouring rain, found the cause of the problem (which, again, was a pre-existing problem, not one due to the Interlock installation) and fixed it on the spot. The service was exceptional.
We purchased our roof in 2009 and as you can see from the pictures taken in May of 2017, our roof looks as new as the day we bought it. Here are the things we have noticed most about our Interlock Lifetime Roof over the last 8 years. It keeps our house much cooler in the summer than the asphalt roof we used to have. It really sheds snow, and the snow guards work great. We never need to use a snow rake. We love the durability and the curb appeal. Greg Weber our representative, who we were enthused to learn, is still with the company. When we saw him in 2009 he laid out all the variables in a professional way and our Interlock Roof has lived up to all of our expectations and promises he made. All companies promise results, service, and quality. Interlock delivers.
The installation was super smooth. Every installer was courteous and professional. We get lots of compliments, and people stop by all the time to admire it. One of the biggest misconceptions about metal roofing is people think it’s loud. Our Interlock roof is very silent. The only way I know if it’s raining is if I look out a window. Also, the snow just slides off. We are also in a wind tunnel area, and we have never lost an Interlock shingle, and we have had the roof for many years. We were so pleased with our Interlock roof that we put the same roof on our lake home in northern Wisconsin. We get a lot more snow up there and the Interlock’s snow-shedding performance capabilities are second to none on that roof, too!
First off, the installation crew was great! They worked very hard, took short breaks, and completed the job very efficiently. Greg Weber, our sales representative, told us an Interlock Roof was more energy efficient than asphalt, and one of the major things we noticed over the years is how much cooler our home office upstairs is in the summertime and warmer it is in the wintertime. It’s a dramatic difference from our old asphalt roof. We have had a few neighbors even question why we invested more in an Interlock roof than a typical asphalt roof, and we always smile and say, “Everybody complains about spending money. Do you want to complain about it once or multiple times, and do you want to be all in to have the best, or not in, and hope for the best.” Thank you, Interlock!
Dear Interlock Lifetime Roofing Systems, The installation was terrific. Jessie and his crew were very nice, polite, and clean and worked together like a well-oiled machine. If I was to have work done on my home for any type of project, this is the team I would recommend and would want to work on my house. Greg Weber, my sales representative, answered all my questions, set the proper expectations, and over delivered in every aspect. We had a major rainstorm shortly after the installation, and we noticed no difference in sound at all. Our Interlock roof is the talk of the neighborhood.
Dear Interlock Lifetime Roofing Systems: We purchased our Interlock Lifetime Roof in June 2014. We are very happy with the look, durability of the material, and finish. After a snowfall, the heat of the sun will warm the roof and allow the snow to shed from the roof. We have a great sense of security, knowing it can withstand higher winds than conventional asphalt. In fact, our neighbors lost many shingles in the last major wind storm, and our Interlock roof proved to be the high wind resistance product it is with all shingles intact. We love the fact it’s more reliable and has peace of mind knowing it has lots of longevity and will look brand new not only now but down the road. We also received a discount on our homeowner’s insurance. Overall, we were very satisfied with our sales representative Greg Weber, the company, the service, and the product.
We have been do-it-yourselfer homeowners our whole lives. We are very handy and capable when it comes to home improvements and appreciate craftsmanship and quality. And that’s what Interlock Lifetime Roofing Systems provided us with our roof. Craftsmanship and quality. Plus, durability, beauty, and experience from a company that manufactures and certify install its own product. That is something, a company that makes its own product, that was very important to us, and no other company in our market offered that, except Interlock. Another thing that was important was we didn’t want to have to deal with rust because many steel metal roofs look good new but look old and hideous down the road because of fading and rusting. Interlock is aluminum. So, it won’t rust, and it achieves and exceeds the highest rating of hail resistance. So, it’s like we said earlier – super durable! Jessie and his crew were super and hard working. We were amazed by their work ethic. That’s something that’s becoming rare nowadays. Also, we were told by a competitor that Greg Weber and Interlock would be high-pressure. That was the furthest thing from the truth. Greg was polite, personable, and knowledgeable and helped us sift through the “lesser quality, cheaper installation, sales gimmicky and overly aggressive” competitors. He provided us with a detailed range of the competition by laying out all the variables so we could make an intelligent comparison and decision. Greg helped save us a lot of time from all the other companies in our market selling what everyone else is selling or just selling stuff and making promises they can’t keep. All the asphalt guys want you to believe that their products will last, and all the steel companies want you to believe their products won’t rust, and everybody knows… That’s Just Not True! Interlock has proven itself for over four decades. That’s Impressive. That’s why we went with them, Jessie and Greg.
In March 2017 we had an Interlock Lifetime Roof installed. Greg Weber, the salesman, was not pushy. We were very impressed with his salesmanship and the product. He also offered to have the Interlock product put on our wishing well in the front yard. That was something we really appreciated. The clean-up was excellent! Many neighbors and people who " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">walk by the house have noticed the roof and asked a lot of questions. We have gotten lots of compliments!
We visited the booth Interlock had at the Remodelling Show at State Fair Park. We got a lot of excellent information there and left our number for a call-back. We did receive the call back promptly and got an appointment right away. The estimator showed up on time and thoroughly explained the process, the product choices and the costs. We signed up for a new metal roof that evening because the advantages were so many, and the expense over time was not much different from regular shingles. This metal roof will probably outlive us! The actual work didn’t start for about two months because the company was very busy, but removing the old layers of shingles was the first process. This was done in a day, and the waterproofing membrane went on. The roofing materials were supposed to be delivered in a couple of days, which unfortunately didn’t happen. The actual work didn’t start for about two months because the company was very busy, but removing the old layers of shingles was the first process. This was done in a day, and the waterproofing membrane went on. The roofing materials were supposed to be delivered in a couple of days, which unfortunately didn’t happen. Instead, a heavy, rainy week intervened, and we did get water in our kitchen. It took a while to get someone to call me back and that was frustrating because it damaged our kitchen ceiling. Ultimately, though, I did get a call, and the work was expedited to the following day. The roofers did the entire installation in one day and did a great job. The roof is beautiful, and we have many people stopping and looking at the wonderful work and superior materials. I know the company will honor their promise to pay for the damage to the kitchen. Once that is done, all is well. The experience wasn’t perfect, but it was as close as mother nature and shipping glitches allowed.
The Interlock crew was able to take some extra time to coordinate with another contractor for solar installation. As a result, the final the result looks great and very functional. The materials used are very high quality, and they worked efficiently and cleaned up when finished.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Sherman Park Heights
The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Sherman Park Heights, Wisconsin. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Sherman Park Heights.
Will a metal roof hold up through Wisconsin's freeze-thaw cycles?
Yes — aluminum actually thrives in freeze-thaw conditions because it has no moisture absorption and expands uniformly without cracking. Sherman Park Heights experiences roughly 79 freeze-thaw days annually with about 88 cm of snow, the exact scenario where asphalt becomes brittle and splits. Aluminum's 3105-H24 alloy flexes with temperature swings and its self-healing oxide layer resists corrosion from road salt spray. The Alunar coating on both sides, warranted 30 years against degradation, keeps water out completely — no ice dam rot like you get under asphalt.
How does metal roofing handle snow load and ice dams in this area?
Metal panels shed snow and ice far better than asphalt because their smooth surface and slight slope encourage movement instead of pooling. With about 120 cm annual snowfall here, ice dams form fastest under roofs that trap heat — the problem metal solves by reflecting rather than absorbing it. Snow guards are optional depending on roof pitch and local codes; the four-way interlocking panels (ESR-1790 compliant) lock panels together so wind gusts up to 96 km/h won't loosen anything during thaw cycles. The lightweight design (Cedar Shingle at 0.41 lb/sq ft) means no structural stress from accumulated weight.
Why doesn't an aluminum metal roof rust like steel does?
Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron — rust requires iron oxidation, which doesn't happen with this material. The roofing-grade 3105-H24 aluminum alloy forms a thin oxide layer immediately upon exposure to air, and this layer self-heals when scratched by weather or debris. Sherman Park Heights receives about 822 mm of rain annually plus winter salt exposure from roads; steel roofing would pit and stain within years, but aluminum stays structurally sound. The Alunar 70% PVDF coating applied to both sides adds another 30-year protection layer against any surface changes, making this the last roof material you'll buy for rust concerns.
How well does interlocking metal roofing perform in Wisconsin wind and storms?
The four-way interlocking system locks each panel to its neighbors on all four edges, distributing wind force across the entire roof rather than relying on fasteners alone. Interlock warranties the system for wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h), well above the typical 22 km/h average and 96 km/h gusts you experience here. This design also means ice or snow that does shift won't tear into seams like overlapped shingles do. The ICC-ES ESR-1790 evaluation report confirms this installation method meets IBC/IRC structural standards — your roof stays intact during spring thaw surges and severe wind events.
Do I need to reinforce my roof structure for a metal roof?
No — and that's one of aluminum's clearest advantages here. The Mediterranean Tile profile, which visually matches clay or concrete tile, weighs just 0.59 lb/sq ft and installs at roughly 96% lighter than the material it mimics. This means most homes can install a metal roof directly over existing asphalt without adding structural beams or trusses, saving tens of thousands in framing work. Sherman Park Heights homes with 88 cm annual snow load benefit most from this: a lightweight metal roof distributes that seasonal weight evenly rather than concentrating stress on older joinery. The ICC-ES ESR-1790 report confirms installation over existing roofs without reinforcement on most residential structures.
Can a metal roof help lower cooling costs in summer?
Yes — metal roofing with energy-efficient colors reflects solar heat instead of absorbing it like asphalt does. The Aged Copper Penny finish achieves initial solar reflectance up to 0.55 and thermal emissivity of 0.84, meaning it bounces sunlight and radiates absorbed heat away quickly. Though Sherman Park Heights averages only about 3,128 sunshine hours annually (less than southern climates), those peak summer days still heat asphalt to 70°C while a reflective metal roof stays cooler, reducing air-conditioning load. The Cool Roof Rating Council certification means these savings are independently verified, and the coating stays reflective for 30 years.
What's the hail rating, and could it lower my homeowners insurance?
Interlock metal roofing carries a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating — the highest available — and the warranty even covers hail perforation up to 1.5 inches. This top rating means some insurers offer premium discounts because claims are extremely rare. While Sherman Park Heights isn't a high-hail zone, severe spring storms do occur, and having Class 4 protection on your roof is peace of mind that asphalt or wood shakes cannot offer. The aluminum's rigidity and four-way lock system absorb and distribute impact energy without cracking like brittle materials do. Contact your insurer with the UL 2218 Class 4 documentation; many will recognize the reduced risk.
How much upkeep does a metal roof actually need compared to asphalt or wood?
Virtually none. Asphalt roofs require annual inspections and repairs after about 15 years; wood shake splits and curls, demanding constant sealing and replacement. Metal roofing needs only occasional gutter cleaning and leaf removal — the roof itself doesn't degrade. The Alunar 70% PVDF coating resists chalking and fading (measured by ASTM D4214 and D2244 standards) for 30 years, so you won't refinish it. With Sherman Park Heights' 822 mm annual rainfall and 88 cm snow, water drains cleanly off smooth aluminum instead of pooling under shingles. The CALGreen verification confirms reduced maintenance labor and cost over the roof's life.
What warranty does Interlock offer, and how long will the roof actually last?
The Guardian Warranty is a lifetime limited material warranty for the original owner — non-prorated — covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. It transfers once to the next owner for 50 years from completion, which appeals to buyers and protects your home's resale value. Aluminum doesn't rot or split, so this warranty is backed by real material science, not marketing. With the Alunar coating warranted 30 years and the metal core itself lasting 50+ years in harsh climates (Interlock has installed from coastal salt-air to an Antarctic research station since 1998), you're buying the last roof you'll install. That's genuine peace of mind in a city with 79 annual freeze-thaw cycles.
Is aluminum metal roofing actually better for the environment than asphalt shingles?
Yes — aluminum is roughly 95% recyclable and ends the tear-off-to-landfill cycle that defines asphalt roofing. When asphalt wears out in 15–20 years, all of it goes to the dump; metal roofing can be recycled into new panels or other products indefinitely. Manufacturing aluminum is energy-intensive, but the 50+ year lifespan means far fewer replacements and far less waste per year of protection. Sherman Park Heights' 822 mm annual rainfall and 88 cm snow actually accelerate asphalt degradation, shortening its life and increasing waste. Choosing aluminum keeps tons of shingle debris from landfills while providing superior performance in your freeze-thaw climate — it's the practical choice and the responsible one.
