Review: June 17, 2017Completion: February 17, 2017

I have made, and continuously still make, numerous recommendations to family & friends to install a Interlock roof. And, I have produced pictures on demand that I stored on my smart phone. If possible, I would be appreciative if I could get the drone footage that Jesse had taken after the finishing of the installation. I believe it would be a great selling point coming from a true customer to help propel the Interlock name. There are just a couple areas on the roof that the installation crew could have touched-on during the installation, but overall the roof looks simply amazing. Quality certainly displays the professionalism the installers had put into their work. Since the installation of our new roof, we have received numerous compliments from many of our neighbors that walk around our subdivision, plus a handful of neighbors in the adjoining subdivisions. Many questions have been asked with many answers given. We are definitely happy with our new Interlock roof. We have NOT once questioned or second guessed our decision to install an Interlock roof. It is one of the best decisions we have ever made for re-investing in our home...Thank you, Interlock!

Excellent roof! Looks good! The installers were courteous and professional. Put the tarp all around the house and kept the site very clean. I was impressed with their super service. They bent over backward to please us. The A-Team of Roofing!

Review: April 10, 2017Completion: March 17, 2015

I love the roof! It looks great, and the squirrels that we’re crawling all over my old asphalt roof slide right off it. The snow slides off, too. I hope to get some $500 referrals. The crew was terrific, hardworking, courteous, polite, and clean.

Review: May 16, 2017Completion: July 31, 2008

The installation was super smooth. Every installer was courteous and professional. We get lots of compliments, and people stop by all the time to admire it. One of the biggest misconceptions about metal roofing is people think it’s loud. Our Interlock roof is very silent. The only way I know if it’s raining is if I look out a window. Also, the snow just slides off.

I wanted to drop you a note to tell you how much we like (love) our new roof. Installation went smoothly, and the crew was extremely nice, especially Jesse and Sal, the ones I talked with the most. Most of all, they cleaned up any messes every night.

Review: May 16, 2017Completion: September 24, 2014

We purchased our Interlock Lifetime Roof in June 2014. We are very happy with the look, durability of the material, and finish. After a snowfall, the heat of the sun will warm the roof and allow the snow to shed from the roof. We have a great sense of security, knowing it can withstand higher winds than conventional asphalt.

Review: June 9, 2026Completion: June 10, 2026

Your home is your greatest investment, sheltering you from the storms. Don't nickel and dime yourself when choosing a roof, you get what you pay for. We chose Interlock aluminum roofing for our house, and are totally pleased with it. Aluminum doesn't rust period. The current rage of steel roofing is a racket preying on uninformed consumers who want something for next to nothing. Steel roofs are coated to prevent rust. However, once these coatings wear off rust sets in. I have personally seen an 18 year-old steel roof with significant rusting after the coating was gone. Do yourself a favor, get an Interlock aluminum roof. Dean Landers 5 star review June 9/2026 Janesville WI

Review: June 8, 2023Completion: April 30, 2023

The crew was great and easy to work with. They need to advertise their project, and it would be great to have that sign out front. I have had people ask about where I got it done. Everyone was very polite, courteous, and helpful. They answered all of my questions.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in South Bristol

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in South Bristol, Wisconsin. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in South Bristol.

Does metal roofing handle Wisconsin snow and ice buildup better than asphalt?

Yes — aluminum's smooth, hard surface sheds snow and ice far more effectively than asphalt. South Bristol averages about 82 cm of snow yearly with roughly 80 freeze-thaw cycles, which repeatedly crack and degrade asphalt shingles. Metal panels won't absorb moisture or split when water expands during freezing. Snow slides off or sits harmlessly without water pooling underneath, eliminating the ice-dam rot that shortens asphalt roofs in climates like yours. Optional snow guards let you control slide-off safely.

Will freeze-thaw cycling in South Bristol damage aluminum panels?

No — aluminum thrives in freeze-thaw conditions. Your region experiences about 80 freeze-thaw days annually, a cycle that causes asphalt to curl, wood to split, and concrete tile to crack. Aluminum expands and contracts uniformly without weakening, and the four-way interlocking design accommodates panel movement without fastener corrosion. The Alunar coating protects both panel surfaces even as water freezes in crevices, and aluminum's oxide layer self-heals when minor scratches expose fresh metal.

Can aluminum metal roofing rust in a Wisconsin climate with high humidity and rain?

Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron — the element that oxidizes to create rust. South Bristol receives about 835 mm of rain annually, and while that moisture accelerates rust in steel roofs, it poses no corrosion threat to aluminum. Instead, a protective oxide layer forms and self-heals if scratched. The Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish (warranted 30 years) adds an additional UV and salt-air barrier, ensuring the panels beneath remain pristine for the lifetime of your home.

How much lighter is metal roofing compared to slate or tile, and does my home need reinforcement?

Metal roofing is dramatically lighter — the Interlock Tile profile weighs about 0.59 lb/sq ft, roughly 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile. Unlike heavy traditional materials, metal installs directly over your existing roof in most cases, with no structural reinforcement required. This also means faster, simpler installation and lower labor costs. For a typical South Bristol home, that weight savings translates to zero foundation strain while delivering tile's distinctive appearance.

Will a metal roof hold up to Wisconsin wind gusts and storms?

Yes — Interlock metal roofing is warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed to specification. South Bristol's typical gusts reach about 99 km/h, well within the panel's resistance range. The four-way interlocking design locks each panel to its neighbors, distributing wind load across the entire roof rather than relying on fasteners alone. This engineering, proven by the ICC-ES ESR-1790 evaluation (IBC/IRC 2025), means your roof stays secure during spring and fall storms.

Does metal roofing resist hail damage, and could it lower my insurance premiums?

Metal roofing carries a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating — the highest available — and the Guardian Warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. This proven durability may qualify you for insurance discounts; contact your agent with the UL 2218 Class 4 rating to discuss potential savings. South Bristol's climate brings spring and summer storms, and unlike asphalt shingles that dent and bruise easily, metal panels' hardness and impact resistance mean fewer claims, lower risk, and potentially lower premiums.

How long will a metal roof last, and what does the warranty cover?

Interlock metal roofing carries the Guardian Warranty — a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. The warranty is also one-time transferable, granting the next owner 50 years of coverage from completion, a powerful selling point if you ever move. Combined with aluminum's inherent durability in Wisconsin's 835 mm rainfall and 82 cm snow, this is the last roof you'll install.

What kind of maintenance does a metal roof need compared to asphalt or wood?

Metal roofing requires far less maintenance than asphalt or wood shingles. South Bristol's 3,094 sunshine hours yearly and frequent rain mean asphalt needs inspection after storms, repair of curled shingles, and gutter clearing from decomposed granules. Metal panels won't curl, split, rot, or shed debris into your gutters. Occasional gutter cleaning and a visual inspection after severe weather are all you need. The CALGreen-verified design reduces maintenance burden, freeing you from the cycle of patching and replacement that drains asphalt roofs.

Is metal roofing worth the upfront cost compared to asphalt over the roof's lifetime?

Yes — when you factor in lifespan, maintenance, and durability. A typical asphalt roof lasts 15-20 years in Wisconsin's climate and requires repairs every 5-7 years; metal roofing lasts your lifetime with minimal maintenance. Over 50 years, you'll replace asphalt multiple times (material, labor, tear-off disposal), while metal stays on your roof. Add the Guardian lifetime warranty, potential insurance discounts for UL 2218 Class 4 impact resistance, and zero repairs from freeze-thaw damage or moisture rot, and metal becomes the economical choice.

Who installs Interlock metal roofing in South Bristol, and how experienced are they?

Interlock Metal Roofing has served the region since 2001, with decades of experience installing in Wisconsin's demanding climate. Our team understands South Bristol's specific challenges: 82 cm of annual snow, frequent freeze-thaw cycles, and the detailed flashing required to handle 835 mm of yearly rainfall. We're factory-trained on all five profiles — Slate, Cedar Shingle, Shake, Standing Seam, and Mediterranean Tile — and we stand behind every installation with the Guardian Warranty, plus our local expertise ensures your roof is built right the first time.

Is a metal roof a good choice for South Bristol’s climate?

Yes. South Bristol averages about 82 cm of snow, 835 mm of rain, roughly 80 freeze–thaw days a year, with peak wind gusts near 99 km/h. Interlock® aluminum roofing is wind-rated to 193+ km/h (120 mph), UL 2218 Class 4 impact-rated and Class A fire-rated, and its four-way interlocking panels shed snow and resist ice dams and freeze–thaw cracking — all backed by a lifetime limited, transferable warranty.
