Review: February 12, 2026 Completion: December 31, 2025

That's exactly the point, if the work is not done according to the specifications, what are we doing. Better communication, better training. Much much better training. If this is not treated as a confidential document, well I don't have to elicit the consequences. Todd and I need to work with these two crews and get this contract back on track. There is nothing else I would like to add, just communicate, in writing I guess now. Our Engineer has asked to a copy of the the warranties. Nothing to date,

Thank you so much for all your efforts in installing our new Interlock Roof. You and your team were professional and courteous going over and beyond the scope of work expected. We and our neighbours were thoroughly impressed with how neat and tidy you were at containing the excess debris and at the same time being cautious of the landscaping. The final product looks fantastic. It was a pleasure dealing with the entire Interlock Industries team from the beginning sales process right through to the final installation. Thank you for making this difficult process so easy.

Review: June 21, 2017 Completion: May 16, 2017

Interlock Roofing could improve on better communication for scheduling, I had to keep making the phone calls, and better follow-up from the sales representative, and site safety and cleanup could be improved. I also found cigarette butts on my property. I would also like more information on the materials used. I was concerned that they had no onsite port-a-potty, and it was an awfully long work day to not use my facility. I would have been more than happy to let them use my facilities.

Review: December 8, 2019 Completion: September 13, 2019

I only answered the questions that I personally dealt with. I was away during 90% of the work. We previously ignored your survey due to the fact that although the roof itself is wonderful the clean up was not satisfactory and we are not complainers. My daughters truck and my car have both had screws imbedded in our tires. (On the cobblestone driveway) I have picked up many screws with the little round things on them that make them stick up when laying on the ground. There was also a bit of roofing left behind, small pieces of snipped metal that is dangerous to children and animals when stepped on in grass and on gravel. Maybe a metal detector might be useful at the end of a job? We are thoroughly satisfied with the roof itself, not happy about our tires though.

Review: April 11, 2019 Completion: March 15, 2019

I have already raved to my friends about Interlock Roofing. And so many people have come and commented on how great the job was done, and in such a timely manner. I don't have any comments about this, since start to finish it was a top notch operation.

Review: December 12, 2017 Completion: November 23, 2017

No Thee are so many, the staff is an issue, the installers. The other problem with our roof due to style, was it required long sheets and they are harder to install so it was more limit on installers to draw from. We had up to six crews within the six months it took to finish. The worst experience I have ever had doing a renovation, and I have done many, on many homes. I was going to report to BBB, and I still will I just have not had the time. I reached out to owner and never heard from them. Todd the organizer reached out to me, frustrated due to the lack of workers.

None. Really, it was fine. I thought it was a tad long between order and completion, and delivery of materials and completion, but the crew was tidally professional and courteous and effective.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Alpine Meadows

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Alpine Meadows, British Columbia. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Alpine Meadows.

How does a metal roof handle Alpine Meadows' heavy snow load?

Interlock metal panels shed snow efficiently because aluminum conducts heat slightly, reducing ice dam formation in freeze-thaw cycles—Alpine Meadows experiences about 89 of these annually. The four-way interlocking design anchors panels securely against the region's wind gusts up to 144 km/h, preventing snow creep or panel movement. At 0.41 to 0.59 lb/sq ft depending on profile, the roof weighs so little that accumulated snow load is never a structural concern, even with 969 cm of annual snowfall. Snow guards are available if you prefer to retain snow in certain areas.

Will freeze-thaw cycles in this climate damage an aluminum roof?

No. Aluminum expands and contracts with temperature swings, but it does so predictably and elastically—it won't crack, rot, or split as wood or asphalt shingles do during Alpine Meadows' roughly 89 freeze-thaw days per year. The material's oxide layer actually self-heals when scratched, making it immune to the corrosion damage that steel roofing experiences in your climate. With 969 cm of snow and 743 mm of rain annually, traditional materials absorb moisture and fail; aluminum simply sheds it. The Guardian Warranty explicitly covers cracking, splitting, and curling—conditions that don't occur with this product.

Can an aluminum metal roof rust in a wet mountain climate?

Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron. What forms instead is a thin, self-healing oxide layer that actually protects the metal beneath—this is why aluminum's durability improves in wet climates like Alpine Meadows, where you receive 743 mm of rain and 969 cm of snow annually. Interlock uses roofing-grade 3105-H24 and 3003-H24 aluminum alloy to ASTM B209 standards, plus a 30-year-warranted Alunar fluorocarbon finish applied to both sides of every panel. Steel roofing rusts within months in comparable moisture-rich environments; aluminum is the opposite of vulnerable here.

Is a metal roof safe in Alpine Meadows' wind gusts?

Yes. Interlock's four-way interlocking aluminum panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h)—more than enough for Alpine Meadows, where typical gusts reach 144 km/h. The interlocking seam design means wind cannot work underneath panels to lift or separate them; each panel grips its neighbors. This system has been installed on Antarctic research stations and coastal homes exposed to sustained salt-air wind far harsher than mountain gusts. The ICC-ES evaluation report ESR-1790 confirms compliance with IBC/IRC wind and uplift standards.

Is a metal roof worth the cost compared to asphalt shingles over 40 years?

Yes, if you stay in your home beyond year 15. Metal costs more upfront but asphalt requires complete replacement every 15–20 years; a typical 2000 sq ft roof means three tear-off cycles and landfill fees by year 60. Interlock's lifetime limited warranty (non-prorated material coverage for the original owner, 50-year transferable term) eliminates those cycles. Factor in energy savings from energy-efficient colors with 0.84 emissivity and up to 0.55 solar reflectance, reduced maintenance, and zero repair calls for rot or leak sealing. Current regional promotion offers interest-free payments for 3 months and saves at least $2499 on installation.

What does the Interlock lifetime warranty actually cover?

The Guardian Warranty is a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner, covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance—failures you'll never experience with aluminum. It's transferable once to the next owner with a 50-year term from completion date. No prorated (declining) coverage means a claim in year 30 receives the same treatment as one in year 3. The 30-year coating warranty specifically protects against chalking and fading (ASTM D4214 / D2244 measured), which matters in Alpine Meadows' 2896 annual sunshine hours. This is the most comprehensive roofing warranty available.

Do reflective metal roofing colors really reduce cooling costs in BC?

Yes, particularly in shoulder seasons. Interlock's energy-efficient colors have thermal emissivity of 0.84 and initial solar reflectance up to 0.55 (Aged Copper Penny profile), meaning they reflect heat that dark asphalt absorbs. Alpine Meadows averages 7.4°C but experiences variability; reflective coatings reduce peak summer cooling loads and lower overall annual HVAC cycling. The Cool Roof Rating Council certification confirms measurable performance. Over a roof's 50-year life, the cumulative energy savings offset a meaningful portion of the material premium, especially if you run air conditioning during the region's warmer weeks or plan to age in place.

How much maintenance does an Interlock metal roof require?

Very little. Unlike asphalt shingles that deteriorate visibly and require moss treatment or algae removal, or wood shakes prone to rot, cracking, and splitting—especially in Alpine Meadows' 969 cm annual snowfall and 89 freeze-thaw days—aluminum needs only occasional debris clearance. No coating reapplication, no sealing, no routine repairs. The CALGreen verification confirms reduced maintenance obligations. The Alunar finish on both panel sides withstands the region's 743 mm rainfall and salt-air exposure without degradation. A 40-year-old Interlock roof installed in 1983 requires the same care as one installed today: keep gutters clear, inspect flashing after major storms.

Can an Interlock metal roof be installed over my existing asphalt shingles?

Yes, in most cases. Because Interlock aluminum profiles weigh 0.41 to 0.59 lb/sq ft—approximately 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile—no structural reinforcement is required, and the roof installs directly over existing shingles without removal and landfill fees. Interlock Metal Roofing (BC) Ltd. has served this region since 1983 and handles the assessment during your consultation; they'll confirm whether your deck's condition and slope suit overlay installation. This approach saves time and disposal cost while protecting the roof from wind-driven rain during installation—valuable given Alpine Meadows' 144 km/h gusts. The ICC-ES ESR-1790 evaluation confirms retrofit compatibility.

Is a metal roof actually better for the environment than asphalt?

Yes. Interlock aluminum is approximately 95% recyclable at end-of-life; your roof never enters a landfill. Asphalt shingles, by contrast, account for millions of tons in North American waste annually, and homeowners typically replace them every 15–20 years. Over 50 years, you'd send three asphalt roofs to landfill while your single metal roof remains on your home and, if removed, returns to aluminum recycling streams. The manufacturing process in Delta, BC uses less energy per square foot than asphalt production. This lifecycle advantage compounds across Alpine Meadows' climate, where frequent freeze-thaw cycling accelerates asphalt degradation, forcing more frequent replacement and more waste.

Is a metal roof a good choice for Alpine Meadows’s climate?

Yes. Alpine Meadows averages about 969 cm of snow, 743 mm of rain, roughly 89 freeze–thaw days a year, with peak wind gusts near 144 km/h. Interlock® aluminum roofing is wind-rated to 193+ km/h (120 mph), UL 2218 Class 4 impact-rated and Class A fire-rated, and its four-way interlocking panels shed snow and resist ice dams and freeze–thaw cracking — all backed by a lifetime limited, transferable warranty.
