> We had the pleasure of meeting Jonathan Brown at the Mohegan Sun Home Show and couldn’t pass up the opportunity to tell him how happy we are with our Interlock roof of ~20 years. We constantly receive compliments from people passing by on how beautiful it looks. Most of all, we appreciate the peace of mind it gives us—knowing we’ll never have to replace our roof, thanks to the lifetime warranty and guaranteed protection against leaks.

Review: November 15, 2024 Completion: November 19, 2024

It was a pleasure working with Interlock from beginning to end. The back office was good about setting expectations for job start and duration, delivery of materials (which happened on time) and work to be performed. They were also good about making adjustments to work with trim that needed to be replaced, etc. The crew that did the install and cleanup was very professional and hard working. I am extremely satisfied with the end result and would definitely recommend Interlock! This is actually my second roof, I had one installed on a different property 20 years ago and it has held the test of time with virtually no maintenance.

Salesman was very courteous and polite. Straight forward no hype or fluff. Company kept constant contact, took care of the required building permits. Had the dumpster and materials delivered on time and removed quickly. The crew was phenomenal, polite courteous. Explained everything, and was very conscientious about their work. If the the nail didn't go in the way he liked he pulled it and did it right. Nailing was all done by hand. Roof has been great since no issues and still looks great. Over all very pleased and well worth the money.

Couldn’t have chosen a better product, it’s been 2 years since installation and have absolutely no issues. The house is cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. Speaking of winter it’s only a matter of hours after a snow storm that all the snow slides right off, no more ice dams and ice filled gutters. The installers were awesome had the entire roof done in a day and a half and cleaned up prior to leaving. We love our Interlock roof.

This letter has been a long time in coming. My husband and I had an Interlock Roof installed in November 2009 and have been meaning to tell you how pleased we are with the look of the new roof and the service provided by the installers ~ Nazaar and Vitality. We’ve gotten many questions and compliments from friends, neighbors and passersby. Both our home and detached garage needed to be re-roofed, with both requiring removal of the old roofing material and the installation of plywood before applying the Interlock product. We were originally told that it would take up to 2 weeks for the job to be completed. To our amazement, the job was completed within a week’s time and that included inclement weather! Nazaar and Vitaliy put in very long days, were very polite, honored their commitments and ALWAYS cleaned everything up before they left for the day. We have children and a dog and found not one nail in the yard after the job was completed. Based on this experience and a product that speaks for itself, we would definitely recommend an Interlock Roof!

I wish to thank " target="\_blank" rel="noopener">Interlock Industries, Inc. for a great roofing system. I'm 100% satisfied and it has a clean and beautiful look. It's great! It's wonderful to know the roof never need replacement again. I also wish to thank Bob Allen, Jerry and Paul McAllister for being so helpful in completing the work. I know this " target="\_blank" rel="noopener">roof system was right when we met Bob Allen the first time, he explained everything in detail. Everything he said was correct. The men who did the work were polite and respectiful, and were clean and neat in the work process. Thank you guys. I would recommend an Interlock Roof for every home, or any building and the long term ">cost is less than another roof system.

Sorry I didn’t get this to you sooner, but I just wanted to drop you a line on the excellent installation of my roof by Nazar and Sergei. They installed our roof in February and never let the harsh weather affect their attention to detail and their determination to do quality work. I was very fortunate to get these two Ukrainian gentlemen as my installers.

Review: August 25, 2007 Completion: April 27, 2007

I am writing to tell you how much my wife and I are satisfied with our new roof from Interlock Roofing. Our old asphalt shingles were showing the effects of time both aesthetically and functionally. Most noticeably was the water mark on the living room ceiling that just kept growing with each passing rain. We certainly weren't looking forward to buying a new roof, since we were still paying for our wedding six months before, but knew we had to do something soon. I mentioned to Dawn that I had heard metal roofs were becoming popular because of how long they last; but she was concerned our home would look like a fast food restaurant, a factory, or even worse a tin roof barn. She made it clear that a modern looking metal roof would ruin the look of our 1860s vintage home. I said I thought I had seen a couple of years ago a house that was done with what I thought the sign said was metal but looked like shingles instead of ridged sheets she pictured. The problem was I couldn't remember the name of the roofer – just that they had an orange sign. A friend of our mentioned there was a Home Show coming up in Worchester and we figured it would be fun to look around and dream about improvements we could make. As we walked the aisles, I saw your familiar orange sign and product display booth. I said to Dawn look at this! This looks really nice – it looks just like " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">slate! Wouldn't that look really great on our house! Two weeks later, you explained what made Interlock Roofing different from other materials and the lifetime " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">warranty helped us feel confident in making what was for us a major purchase decision. Although an Interlock roof might cost more initially, we think it is well worth it knowing we will never have to buy another roof for this home again. Your company and crews are great! A representative called to let us know materials were being delivered and when they arrived they were neatly stored out of the way until the work began. A supervisor called to let us know when the work would begin, and except for two days of rain which delayed their start, the job was completed within the estimated three days. At the end of each day, they cleaned up after themselves and when the job was competed they raked up any pieces that may have been missed in the grass. The completed roof looks great and enhances the appearance of our home. We have had many people stop and compliment us on it and at least one had already installed an Interlock roof of their own. Should we ever move from this home in the future, one of the features we will look for is an Interlock roof or plan on upgrading to one in our new home as well.

Review: June 2, 2006 Completion: July 25, 2005

Just wanted to let you know that we are very satisfied with the aluminum interlocking roof which was installed in July of 2005. It was amazing to us how quickly and efficiently your men worked in removing our old asphalt layers of roof and installing the new one. Needless to say, we were very impressed with their work as well as our new roof! Unfortunately, during installation of the roof, damage was done to the interior ceiling of our dining room. Interlock did respond and the damaged area was repaired in a timely manner. Unfortunately our existing ceilings are plaster and the repaired area was done in wallboard which simply do not match. In order for this to be repaired properly, the entire ceiling has to be repainted with a light texture. Whatever you can do to help rectify the pending repair to the interior ceiling would be greatly appreciated. We look forward to speaking with you in the near future. Once again, thank you for offering us the opportunity to upgrade our home with an outstanding roof.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Milford

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Milford, Connecticut. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Milford.

Will a metal roof handle Connecticut's freeze-thaw cycles better than asphalt?

Yes—aluminum's structure actually improves with thermal stress. Milford experiences about 54 freeze-thaw days per year, where water infiltration and expansion crack asphalt shingles and decay wood. Aluminum expands and contracts uniformly without absorbing moisture, so it won't crack, curl, or split. The self-healing oxide layer on the 3105-H24 alloy resists the corrosive salt air that often accompanies freeze cycles in coastal Fairfield County. Your roof stays structurally sound where asphalt simply degrades.

Does metal roofing work well in areas that get 58 centimeters of snow yearly?

Metal roofing handles Milford's annual snowfall exceptionally well because of its four-way interlocking design and smooth surface. Snow sheds cleanly without pooling, eliminating the ice dam risk that creates leaks under asphalt shingles. The interlocking panels prevent water infiltration at seams—critical in a region averaging 1,222 mm of rain plus winter precipitation. Optional snow guards keep accumulated snow in place if you prefer it for insulation. The lightweight design (the Shingle installs at just 0.41 lb/sq ft) means no structural stress from snow weight, unlike slate or concrete tile.

Are metal roofs secure in Milford's windy conditions?

Absolutely. Fairfield County experiences typical gusts around 142 km/h, and Interlock's four-way interlocking panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph when installed to specification. The mechanical interlock—not adhesive or fasteners alone—distributes wind load across the entire roof system, preventing uplift or panel separation. ICC-ES evaluation ESR-1790 certifies this design for code-compliance across the IBC and IRC, meeting Connecticut's building standards. You'll have documented wind protection that outlasts asphalt shingles by decades.

Why don't metal roofs rust like I've heard some do?

Aluminum contains no iron, so it cannot rust—ever. What forms instead is a transparent aluminum oxide layer that actually protects the underlying metal and self-heals when scratched, re-sealing the surface automatically. This is why Interlock panels have been installed in coastal salt-air environments from British Columbia to Antarctica since 1998 without corrosion failure. Fairfield County's proximity to the Atlantic means salt spray is a real concern for steel roofing, but aluminum's chemistry makes corrosion chemically impossible. The Alunar® 70% PVDF fluorocarbon coating (warranted 30 years against chalking and fading) adds a second protective layer—belts and suspenders for seaside homes.

Can a reflective metal roof actually lower my cooling costs in Connecticut?

Yes, particularly on clear days when Milford receives about 3,127 sunshine hours annually. Interlock's energy-efficient colors achieve initial solar reflectance up to 0.55 and thermal emissivity of 0.84, reflecting heat that asphalt absorbs and re-radiates into your home. The Cool Roof Rating Council rating quantifies this energy savings. Over a season with moderate air conditioning use, the reduction in roof-to-attic heat transfer measurably lowers your peak cooling load. Combined with the 54 freeze-thaw days per year, the material's thermal performance prevents the temperature swings that stress asphalt shingles while keeping your home cooler when it matters.

Will my homeowner's insurance cover hail damage to a metal roof?

Metal roofing's hail performance often qualifies you for insurance discounts. Interlock achieves UL 2218 Class 4—the highest impact rating available—and the Guardian Warranty covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Ask your agent about discounts for impact-resistant roofing; many insurers recognize Class 4 ratings and reduce premiums accordingly. Fairfield County hailstorms are less frequent than wind events, but when they occur, a non-combustible aluminum roof with Class A fire rating and proven impact durability presents less risk to underwriters than asphalt shingles, which degrade rapidly after hail impact.

What does Interlock's lifetime warranty actually cover, and for how long?

The Guardian Warranty is a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner, covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. That means no gradual reduction in coverage as your roof ages—full protection for as long as you own the home. The warranty is one-time transferable, extending 50 years from completion for the next owner, adding significant resale appeal. Combined with the Alunar® coating's separate 30-year warranty against fading and chalking, you're protected through multiple generations of Connecticut weather. No asphalt shingle manufacturer offers anything comparable.

How much maintenance does a metal roof need compared to asphalt or wood?

Metal roofing requires virtually no material-based maintenance. Asphalt shingles need regular inspection for splits and curling (especially after Milford's 54 annual freeze-thaw cycles), wood shakes split and rot from moisture, and clay tile cracks in freeze cycles. Aluminum doesn't split, rot, or degrade chemically. You may occasionally clear leaves or debris from valleys—standard for any roof in New England's 1,222 mm annual rainfall—but you won't replace shingles, patch leaks from thermal expansion, or treat moss. The CALGreen-verified design confirms reduced maintenance burden, saving you time and money over the roof's 50+ year life.

Can my home's frame support a metal roof, or do I need structural reinforcement?

No reinforcement needed. Interlock's Mediterranean Tile profile installs at just 0.59 lb/sq ft—approximately 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile—and the Shingle weighs only 0.41 lb/sq ft. Most existing homes' framing easily supports aluminum roofing because the load is negligible compared to slate or traditional tile. In fact, Interlock installs directly over existing asphalt shingles in most cases, eliminating tear-off costs and labor. This lightweight advantage is particularly valuable in older Milford homes with timber framing designed for lighter loads, and it lets you achieve the visual depth of premium materials without the structural overhaul that would cost tens of thousands.

Who installs Interlock metal roofing in Milford, and how experienced are they?

Interlock Metal Roofing (New England) Inc. has served Fairfield County and the broader region since 1999, with deep familiarity with Connecticut's building codes, weather patterns, and local home styles. They understand the specific challenges of Milford's coastal salt air, 58 cm annual snowfall, and 142 km/h wind gusts. Right now they're offering either no payments and no interest until Spring 2027 or 10% off installation—options that reduce your out-of-pocket cost while you benefit from proven, local expertise. A local installer familiar with your climate and building department ensures proper installation per ESR-1790 specs and speeds warranty claims if ever needed.
