> We had the pleasure of meeting Jonathan Brown at the Mohegan Sun Home Show and couldn’t pass up the opportunity to tell him how happy we are with our Interlock roof of ~20 years. We constantly receive compliments from people passing by on how beautiful it looks. Most of all, we appreciate the peace of mind it gives us—knowing we’ll never have to replace our roof, thanks to the lifetime warranty and guaranteed protection against leaks.

Review: November 15, 2024 Completion: November 19, 2024

It was a pleasure working with Interlock from beginning to end. The back office was good about setting expectations for job start and duration, delivery of materials (which happened on time) and work to be performed. They were also good about making adjustments to work with trim that needed to be replaced, etc. The crew that did the install and cleanup was very professional and hard working. I am extremely satisfied with the end result and would definitely recommend Interlock! This is actually my second roof, I had one installed on a different property 20 years ago and it has held the test of time with virtually no maintenance.

Salesman was very courteous and polite. Straight forward no hype or fluff. Company kept constant contact, took care of the required building permits. Had the dumpster and materials delivered on time and removed quickly. The crew was phenomenal, polite courteous. Explained everything, and was very conscientious about their work. If the the nail didn't go in the way he liked he pulled it and did it right. Nailing was all done by hand. Roof has been great since no issues and still looks great. Over all very pleased and well worth the money.

Couldn’t have chosen a better product, it’s been 2 years since installation and have absolutely no issues. The house is cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. Speaking of winter it’s only a matter of hours after a snow storm that all the snow slides right off, no more ice dams and ice filled gutters. The installers were awesome had the entire roof done in a day and a half and cleaned up prior to leaving. We love our Interlock roof.

This letter has been a long time in coming. My husband and I had an Interlock Roof installed in November 2009 and have been meaning to tell you how pleased we are with the look of the new roof and the service provided by the installers ~ Nazaar and Vitality. We’ve gotten many questions and compliments from friends, neighbors and passersby. Both our home and detached garage needed to be re-roofed, with both requiring removal of the old roofing material and the installation of plywood before applying the Interlock product. We were originally told that it would take up to 2 weeks for the job to be completed. To our amazement, the job was completed within a week’s time and that included inclement weather! Nazaar and Vitaliy put in very long days, were very polite, honored their commitments and ALWAYS cleaned everything up before they left for the day. We have children and a dog and found not one nail in the yard after the job was completed. Based on this experience and a product that speaks for itself, we would definitely recommend an Interlock Roof!

I wish to thank " target="\_blank" rel="noopener">Interlock Industries, Inc. for a great roofing system. I'm 100% satisfied and it has a clean and beautiful look. It's great! It's wonderful to know the roof never need replacement again. I also wish to thank Bob Allen, Jerry and Paul McAllister for being so helpful in completing the work. I know this " target="\_blank" rel="noopener">roof system was right when we met Bob Allen the first time, he explained everything in detail. Everything he said was correct. The men who did the work were polite and respectiful, and were clean and neat in the work process. Thank you guys. I would recommend an Interlock Roof for every home, or any building and the long term ">cost is less than another roof system.

Sorry I didn’t get this to you sooner, but I just wanted to drop you a line on the excellent installation of my roof by Nazar and Sergei. They installed our roof in February and never let the harsh weather affect their attention to detail and their determination to do quality work. I was very fortunate to get these two Ukrainian gentlemen as my installers.

Review: August 25, 2007 Completion: April 27, 2007

I am writing to tell you how much my wife and I are satisfied with our new roof from Interlock Roofing. Our old asphalt shingles were showing the effects of time both aesthetically and functionally. Most noticeably was the water mark on the living room ceiling that just kept growing with each passing rain. We certainly weren't looking forward to buying a new roof, since we were still paying for our wedding six months before, but knew we had to do something soon. I mentioned to Dawn that I had heard metal roofs were becoming popular because of how long they last; but she was concerned our home would look like a fast food restaurant, a factory, or even worse a tin roof barn. She made it clear that a modern looking metal roof would ruin the look of our 1860s vintage home. I said I thought I had seen a couple of years ago a house that was done with what I thought the sign said was metal but looked like shingles instead of ridged sheets she pictured. The problem was I couldn't remember the name of the roofer – just that they had an orange sign. A friend of our mentioned there was a Home Show coming up in Worchester and we figured it would be fun to look around and dream about improvements we could make. As we walked the aisles, I saw your familiar orange sign and product display booth. I said to Dawn look at this! This looks really nice – it looks just like " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">slate! Wouldn't that look really great on our house! Two weeks later, you explained what made Interlock Roofing different from other materials and the lifetime " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">warranty helped us feel confident in making what was for us a major purchase decision. Although an Interlock roof might cost more initially, we think it is well worth it knowing we will never have to buy another roof for this home again. Your company and crews are great! A representative called to let us know materials were being delivered and when they arrived they were neatly stored out of the way until the work began. A supervisor called to let us know when the work would begin, and except for two days of rain which delayed their start, the job was completed within the estimated three days. At the end of each day, they cleaned up after themselves and when the job was competed they raked up any pieces that may have been missed in the grass. The completed roof looks great and enhances the appearance of our home. We have had many people stop and compliment us on it and at least one had already installed an Interlock roof of their own. Should we ever move from this home in the future, one of the features we will look for is an Interlock roof or plan on upgrading to one in our new home as well.

Review: June 2, 2006 Completion: July 25, 2005

Just wanted to let you know that we are very satisfied with the aluminum interlocking roof which was installed in July of 2005. It was amazing to us how quickly and efficiently your men worked in removing our old asphalt layers of roof and installing the new one. Needless to say, we were very impressed with their work as well as our new roof! Unfortunately, during installation of the roof, damage was done to the interior ceiling of our dining room. Interlock did respond and the damaged area was repaired in a timely manner. Unfortunately our existing ceilings are plaster and the repaired area was done in wallboard which simply do not match. In order for this to be repaired properly, the entire ceiling has to be repainted with a light texture. Whatever you can do to help rectify the pending repair to the interior ceiling would be greatly appreciated. We look forward to speaking with you in the near future. Once again, thank you for offering us the opportunity to upgrade our home with an outstanding roof.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Hollow

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Hollow, Connecticut. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Hollow.

Will a metal roof hold up to Connecticut's freeze-thaw cycles?

Yes. Aluminum expands and contracts with temperature swings, but its non-porous structure means water doesn't penetrate and freeze inside the material—the primary cause of material failure in freeze-thaw climates. With about 54 freeze-thaw days per year in Hollow and winter temps regularly crossing 0°C, asphalt becomes brittle and cracks, while wood splits. Aluminum's 3105-H24 alloy and PVDF coating (warranted 30 years against cracking) simply cycle without degradation, and the self-healing oxide layer resists any corrosion from salt spray during thaw events.

How does an aluminum metal roof handle Hollow's snow load and ice dams?

The slick, non-porous aluminum surface sheds snow naturally rather than trapping moisture that turns to ice at the eaves. Hollow receives about 58 cm of snow annually, and steep roof pitches (especially Slate and Shake profiles) accelerate shedding. The four-way interlocking panels create a unified surface that doesn't crack or split under the stress of shifting snow and ice. Snow guards can be added if desired, and the lightweight design—Cedar Shingle at 0.41 lb/sq ft versus conventional asphalt—ensures the structural system isn't strained by seasonal accumulation.

Can aluminum roofing survive Hollow's wind gusts and nor'easters?

Yes. The four-way interlocking aluminum panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph when installed to spec—well above Hollow's typical gusts, which average around 21 km/h with recorded peaks near 142 km/h. The overlapping, mechanical interlock system distributes wind pressure across the entire roof rather than concentrating it on fasteners. This design, combined with ICC-ES evaluation ESR-1790 compliance and the rigid aluminum construction, keeps panels secure during the spring and autumn storms common to Fairfield County without the brittleness that makes asphalt shingles lift or tear.

With 1200+ mm of rain yearly, will a metal roof leak in Hollow?

No. Heavy rainfall (Hollow averages 1222 mm annually) proves aluminum roofing's advantage: water cannot soak into or be absorbed by non-porous aluminum, and the four-way interlocking seams shed water downslope by design. Installed over a solid deck with underlayment (as specified in ICC-ES ESR-1790), the system performs identically to asphalt in rain events—water runs off rather than pooling. The interlocked panels eliminate the overlapped joints common to shingle systems, which are the prime leak points after 15–20 years of freeze-thaw and UV cycling.

Will hail damage my metal roof, and can I get insurance credit?

Aluminum roofing achieves UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and Interlock's warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. This superior rating often qualifies homeowners for insurance discounts because the material resists the denting and puncture that asphalt cannot. Many insurers recognize Class 4 certification and lower premiums accordingly. In Hollow's climate with about 3127 sunshine hours annually and typical spring and summer weather patterns, the rare high-impact hail event poses minimal risk, and the material's verified durability gives you a documented defense against claim denials.

Can my home's structure support a metal roof, or do I need reinforcement?

No reinforcement needed. The Mediterranean Tile profile, which replicates the heaviest traditional material, installs at just 0.59 lb/sq ft—about 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile. Cedar Shingle is only 0.41 lb/sq ft. This extraordinary light weight means the metal roof typically installs directly over your existing asphalt shingles, eliminating the tear-off cost and landfill impact. Structural engineers confirm that older homes built to asphalt loads easily support aluminum; you gain the look of premium materials without costly reinforcement or the slow settlement that heavy traditional roofs create over decades.

What warranty covers a metal roof, and does it transfer if I sell?

The Guardian lifetime limited warranty covers the original owner for material defects (rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, impact resistance) with zero prorations—you never pay a depreciated claim fee. The warranty transfers once to the next owner, who receives 50 years of coverage from completion. This non-prorated structure is unprecedented in roofing; asphalt warranties prorate after year one, and wood shingles offer nothing after 20 years. For a Hollow homeowner planning to stay 10–15 years or sell, the transferable term adds resale appeal and protects your investment through multiple climate cycles (about 540–810 freeze-thaw days over the roof's life in this region).

Will a metal roof reduce my cooling costs in summer?

energy-efficient colors with thermal emissivity of 0.84 and solar reflectance up to 0.55 reflect the sun's heat instead of absorbing it like asphalt. In Hollow's 3127 annual sunshine hours, this reflectance prevents interior heat gain and reduces air-conditioning load, especially on south and west-facing slopes. The Cool Roof Rating Council certification quantifies this advantage: lighter colors stay cooler than dark asphalt, lowering peak roof temperature by 20–40°F in summer. Over a 50-year lifespan in a climate with moderate-to-warm seasons, energy savings accumulate significantly, and the Alunar coating warranty (30 years against fading) ensures the reflectance doesn't degrade.

Is a metal roof worth the upfront cost versus asphalt shingles?

Over the roof's full life, yes. Asphalt requires replacement every 15–20 years; in Hollow's 54 annual freeze-thaw days, UV exposure (3127 sunshine hours per year), and 1222 mm rainfall, asphalt degrades faster. You'll replace it 2–3 times before an aluminum roof needs any work. The Guardian lifetime warranty on materials eliminates future tear-off costs and landfill fees. Current financing (no payments or interest until Spring 2027, or 10% off installation) reduces the initial gap. A single asphalt replacement costs $8,000–$12,000; over 50 years, that's $16,000–$24,000 in repeated work. Metal pays for itself—and adds durability your home can pass to the next owner.

Interlock Metal Roofing (New England) Inc. serves Hollow and all of Fairfield County, with local expertise since 1999. The installer holds ICC-ES ESR-1790 certification and Intertek listing 33876, meaning work meets code and warranty requirements. Current promotions—no payments and no interest until Spring 2027, or 10% off installation—apply to regional work. Call or visit the website to schedule a no-cost inspection; the local team will assess your existing roof and design a system matched to your home's structure and style preferences.
