> We had the pleasure of meeting Jonathan Brown at the Mohegan Sun Home Show and couldn’t pass up the opportunity to tell him how happy we are with our Interlock roof of ~20 years. We constantly receive compliments from people passing by on how beautiful it looks. Most of all, we appreciate the peace of mind it gives us—knowing we’ll never have to replace our roof, thanks to the lifetime warranty and guaranteed protection against leaks.

Review: November 15, 2024 Completion: November 19, 2024

It was a pleasure working with Interlock from beginning to end. The back office was good about setting expectations for job start and duration, delivery of materials (which happened on time) and work to be performed. They were also good about making adjustments to work with trim that needed to be replaced, etc. The crew that did the install and cleanup was very professional and hard working. I am extremely satisfied with the end result and would definitely recommend Interlock! This is actually my second roof, I had one installed on a different property 20 years ago and it has held the test of time with virtually no maintenance.

Salesman was very courteous and polite. Straight forward no hype or fluff. Company kept constant contact, took care of the required building permits. Had the dumpster and materials delivered on time and removed quickly. The crew was phenomenal, polite courteous. Explained everything, and was very conscientious about their work. If the the nail didn't go in the way he liked he pulled it and did it right. Nailing was all done by hand. Roof has been great since no issues and still looks great. Over all very pleased and well worth the money.

Review: June 15, 2019 Completion: September 17, 2017

Couldn’t have chosen a better product, it’s been 2 years since installation and have absolutely no issues. The house is cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. Speaking of winter it’s only a matter of hours after a snow storm that all the snow slides right off, no more ice dams and ice filled gutters. The installers were awesome had the entire roof done in a day and a half and cleaned up prior to leaving. We love our Interlock roof.

This letter has been a long time in coming. My husband and I had an Interlock Roof installed in November 2009 and have been meaning to tell you how pleased we are with the look of the new roof and the service provided by the installers ~ Nazaar and Vitality. We’ve gotten many questions and compliments from friends, neighbors and passersby. Both our home and detached garage needed to be re-roofed, with both requiring removal of the old roofing material and the installation of plywood before applying the Interlock product. We were originally told that it would take up to 2 weeks for the job to be completed. To our amazement, the job was completed within a week’s time and that included inclement weather! Nazaar and Vitaliy put in very long days, were very polite, honored their commitments and ALWAYS cleaned everything up before they left for the day. We have children and a dog and found not one nail in the yard after the job was completed. Based on this experience and a product that speaks for itself, we would definitely recommend an Interlock Roof!

I wish to thank " target="\_blank" rel="noopener">Interlock Industries, Inc. for a great roofing system. I'm 100% satisfied and it has a clean and beautiful look. It's great! It's wonderful to know the roof never need replacement again. I also wish to thank Bob Allen, Jerry and Paul McAllister for being so helpful in completing the work. I know this " target="\_blank" rel="noopener">roof system was right when we met Bob Allen the first time, he explained everything in detail. Everything he said was correct. The men who did the work were polite and respectiful, and were clean and neat in the work process. Thank you guys. I would recommend an Interlock Roof for every home, or any building and the long term ">cost is less than another roof system.

Sorry I didn’t get this to you sooner, but I just wanted to drop you a line on the excellent installation of my roof by Nazar and Sergei. They installed our roof in February and never let the harsh weather affect their attention to detail and their determination to do quality work. I was very fortunate to get these two Ukrainian gentlemen as my installers.

Review: August 25, 2007 Completion: April 27, 2007

I am writing to tell you how much my wife and I are satisfied with our new roof from Interlock Roofing. Our old asphalt shingles were showing the effects of time both aesthetically and functionally. Most noticeably was the water mark on the living room ceiling that just kept growing with each passing rain. We certainly weren't looking forward to buying a new roof, since we were still paying for our wedding six months before, but knew we had to do something soon. I mentioned to Dawn that I had heard metal roofs were becoming popular because of how long they last; but she was concerned our home would look like a fast food restaurant, a factory, or even worse a tin roof barn. She made it clear that a modern looking metal roof would ruin the look of our 1860s vintage home. I said I thought I had seen a couple of years ago a house that was done with what I thought the sign said was metal but looked like shingles instead of ridged sheets she pictured. The problem was I couldn't remember the name of the roofer – just that they had an orange sign. A friend of our mentioned there was a Home Show coming up in Worchester and we figured it would be fun to look around and dream about improvements we could make. As we walked the aisles, I saw your familiar orange sign and product display booth. I said to Dawn look at this! This looks really nice – it looks just like " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">slate! Wouldn't that look really great on our house! Two weeks later, you explained what made Interlock Roofing different from other materials and the lifetime " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">warranty helped us feel confident in making what was for us a major purchase decision. Although an Interlock roof might cost more initially, we think it is well worth it knowing we will never have to buy another roof for this home again. Your company and crews are great! A representative called to let us know materials were being delivered and when they arrived they were neatly stored out of the way until the work began. A supervisor called to let us know when the work would begin, and except for two days of rain which delayed their start, the job was completed within the estimated three days. At the end of each day, they cleaned up after themselves and when the job was competed they raked up any pieces that may have been missed in the grass. The completed roof looks great and enhances the appearance of our home. We have had many people stop and compliment us on it and at least one had already installed an Interlock roof of their own. Should we ever move from this home in the future, one of the features we will look for is an Interlock roof or plan on upgrading to one in our new home as well.

Review: June 2, 2006 Completion: July 25, 2005

Just wanted to let you know that we are very satisfied with the aluminum interlocking roof which was installed in July of 2005. It was amazing to us how quickly and efficiently your men worked in removing our old asphalt layers of roof and installing the new one. Needless to say, we were very impressed with their work as well as our new roof! Unfortunately, during installation of the roof, damage was done to the interior ceiling of our dining room. Interlock did respond and the damaged area was repaired in a timely manner. Unfortunately our existing ceilings are plaster and the repaired area was done in wallboard which simply do not match. In order for this to be repaired properly, the entire ceiling has to be repainted with a light texture. Whatever you can do to help rectify the pending repair to the interior ceiling would be greatly appreciated. We look forward to speaking with you in the near future. Once again, thank you for offering us the opportunity to upgrade our home with an outstanding roof.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Trumbull

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Trumbull, Connecticut. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Trumbull.

Will a metal roof hold up through Trumbull's freeze-thaw cycles?

Yes. Aluminum's oxide layer self-heals after thermal stress, so repeated freezing and thawing—Trumbull sees about 54 freeze-thaw days per year—won't crack or degrade it the way asphalt, wood, or concrete tile materials do. The roofing-grade 3105-H24 aluminum alloy (ASTM B209) is engineered for exactly this climate stress. Unlike asphalt that becomes brittle in cold and wood that splits, aluminum flexes and recovers without permanent damage, maintaining its structural integrity through decades of seasonal cycles.

How does a metal roof handle Trumbull's snow and ice buildup?

Metal roofs shed snow and ice more efficiently than asphalt due to their smooth, slippery surface and superior thermal conductivity. Trumbull receives about 58 cm of snow annually; that accumulation slides off faster, reducing ice-dam formation at the eaves. The four-way interlocking panels lock snow guards in place if you choose to install them, preventing dangerous slides while managing melt. Metal's low weight—the Slate profile weighs only 0.41 lb/sq ft—means no sagging under snow load, and the warranty covers wind gusts up to 120 mph (which Trumbull experiences), protecting against ice-laden wind damage.

Does a metal roof leak in heavy rain?

The four-way interlocking panels and solid deck installation method create a sealed surface that handles Trumbull's typical 1,222 mm of annual rainfall without leaking. Water is mechanically channeled away by the overlapping seams rather than trapped in crevices like shingle roofs. The panels lock together at all four sides, eliminating the gapping that occurs when asphalt shingles expand and contract with temperature swings. When installed over a solid deck with underlayment—a standard practice—the system is as leak-proof as any pitched roof can be, even during the heavy downpours common to Fairfield County.

Why don't aluminum metal roofs rust like steel ones?

Aluminum contains no iron—the element that rusts. Instead, it forms a thin, self-healing oxide layer that protects the metal beneath. Even if scratched during installation or storm damage, that oxide regenerates automatically, a process that continues for the roof's lifetime. Steel roofs, by contrast, expose bare iron after any coating breach, leading to rust stains and eventual perforation. In Trumbull's moisture-rich climate with 1,222 mm of annual rainfall, this difference is significant: aluminum stays protected without ongoing maintenance, while steel requires vigilant inspection and touch-up painting.

Will a metal roof get damaged by hail, and can I get an insurance discount?

Interlock's aluminum panels hold a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the warranty covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. This rating means the roof withstands impacts that would crack asphalt, split wood, or shatter tile. Many insurance carriers recognize this durability and offer premium discounts for Class 4-rated roofs, offsetting part of the installation cost. Contact your agent with the UL 2218 certification to explore savings. Fairfield County does experience hail events; a non-denting, impact-resistant roof reduces future claims and repair costs.

Is a metal roof worth the cost over the life of my home?

Metal roofing costs more upfront but eliminates the re-roofing cycle asphalt requires. Asphalt lasts 15–20 years and generates landfill waste with each replacement; Interlock's lifetime limited warranty (non-prorated for the original owner) covers rusting, rotting, cracking, curling, and impact loss. Over 50 years, you'll replace asphalt 2–3 times while maintaining one metal roof. Factor in no maintenance beyond occasional debris clearing, no algae or moss growth (common in Trumbull's 1,222 mm annual rainfall), and the one-time 50-year transferable warranty for the next owner—metal becomes the lower total-cost option. Current financing: no payments and no interest until Spring 2027, or 10% off installation.

Can my house support a metal roof, or will I need structural work?

Aluminum is extraordinarily light. The Mediterranean Tile profile, which visually replicates heavy concrete or clay tile, weighs only ~0.59 lb/sq ft—about 96% lighter than the real thing. Most homes in Trumbull, built to support traditional roofing, easily carry this weight without reinforcement. Interlock installs directly over existing asphalt roofs, saving the cost and labor of tear-off and structural upgrades. A licensed installer will assess your framing during the site visit, but in nearly all cases, the lightweight aluminum means no beams, posts, or foundation work—just a direct, cost-effective installation.

How much maintenance does a metal roof really need?

Minimal. Rinse debris twice yearly and clear gutters seasonally—standard for any roof. That's it. Unlike asphalt, which requires moss treatment, algae removal, and periodic sealing in climates like Trumbull's (1,222 mm rain, about 3,127 sunshine hours annually), metal doesn't degrade, discolor, or need chemical maintenance. The Alunar® 70% PVDF coating is warranted 30 years against chalking and fading (per ASTM D4214 and D2244), so color remains stable without repainting. No wood-like splitting from freeze-thaw, no tile cracking from impact—routine maintenance is genuinely routine, saving you money and time across decades.

Will a metal roof reduce my cooling costs in summer?

Yes, if you choose an energy-efficient color. Those profiles achieve thermal emissivity of 0.84 and solar reflectance up to 0.55 (like Aged Copper Penny), reflecting heat that asphalt absorbs. The Cool Roof Rating Council verification confirms measurable energy performance. Trumbull's climate averages 12.4°C but experiences warm summers; a reflective metal roof bounces that heat away rather than transferring it into the attic. Over the roof's lifetime, energy savings compound, especially if you use air conditioning. Metal's thermal conductivity also permits faster nighttime cooling compared to materials that retain daytime heat.

Who installs Interlock metal roofs in Trumbull?

Interlock Metal Roofing (New England) Inc. serves Trumbull and the surrounding Fairfield County region, with installation expertise since 1999. The company handles every phase: site assessment, material selection from five profiles (Slate, Cedar Shingle, Shake, Mediterranean Tile, Standing Seam), installation over existing roofs, and warranty support. Local service means shorter response times, familiarity with Trumbull's specific weather patterns (freeze-thaw cycles, 142 km/h wind gusts, 58 cm annual snow), and accountability as a regional presence. Current promotion: no payments and no interest until Spring 2027, or 10% off installation.
