> We had the pleasure of meeting Jonathan Brown at the Mohegan Sun Home Show and couldn’t pass up the opportunity to tell him how happy we are with our Interlock roof of ~20 years. We constantly receive compliments from people passing by on how beautiful it looks. Most of all, we appreciate the peace of mind it gives us—knowing we’ll never have to replace our roof, thanks to the lifetime warranty and guaranteed protection against leaks.

Review: November 15, 2024 Completion: November 19, 2024

It was a pleasure working with Interlock from beginning to end. The back office was good about setting expectations for job start and duration, delivery of materials (which happened on time) and work to be performed. They were also good about making adjustments to work with trim that needed to be replaced, etc. The crew that did the install and cleanup was very professional and hard working. I am extremely satisfied with the end result and would definitely recommend Interlock! This is actually my second roof, I had one installed on a different property 20 years ago and it has held the test of time with virtually no maintenance.

Salesman was very courteous and polite. Straight forward no hype or fluff. Company kept constant contact, took care of the required building permits. Had the dumpster and materials delivered on time and removed quickly. The crew was phenomenal, polite courteous. Explained everything, and was very conscientious about their work. If the the nail didn't go in the way he liked he pulled it and did it right. Nailing was all done by hand. Roof has been great since no issues and still looks great. Over all very pleased and well worth the money.

Review: June 15, 2019 Completion: September 17, 2017

Couldn’t have chosen a better product, it’s been 2 years since installation and have absolutely no issues. The house is cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. Speaking of winter it’s only a matter of hours after a snow storm that all the snow slides right off, no more ice dams and ice filled gutters. The installers were awesome had the entire roof done in a day and a half and cleaned up prior to leaving. We love our Interlock roof.

This letter has been a long time in coming. My husband and I had an Interlock Roof installed in November 2009 and have been meaning to tell you how pleased we are with the look of the new roof and the service provided by the installers ~ Nazaar and Vitality. We’ve gotten many questions and compliments from friends, neighbors and passersby. Both our home and detached garage needed to be re-roofed, with both requiring removal of the old roofing material and the installation of plywood before applying the Interlock product. We were originally told that it would take up to 2 weeks for the job to be completed. To our amazement, the job was completed within a week’s time and that included inclement weather! Nazaar and Vitaliy put in very long days, were very polite, honored their commitments and ALWAYS cleaned everything up before they left for the day. We have children and a dog and found not one nail in the yard after the job was completed. Based on this experience and a product that speaks for itself, we would definitely recommend an Interlock Roof!

I wish to thank " target="\_blank" rel="noopener">Interlock Industries, Inc. for a great roofing system. I'm 100% satisfied and it has a clean and beautiful look. It's great! It's wonderful to know the roof never need replacement again. I also wish to thank Bob Allen, Jerry and Paul McAllister for being so helpful in completing the work. I know this " target="\_blank" rel="noopener">roof system was right when we met Bob Allen the first time, he explained everything in detail. Everything he said was correct. The men who did the work were polite and respectiful, and were clean and neat in the work process. Thank you guys. I would recommend an Interlock Roof for every home, or any building and the long term ">cost is less than another roof system.

Sorry I didn’t get this to you sooner, but I just wanted to drop you a line on the excellent installation of my roof by Nazar and Sergei. They installed our roof in February and never let the harsh weather affect their attention to detail and their determination to do quality work. I was very fortunate to get these two Ukrainian gentlemen as my installers.

Review: August 25, 2007 Completion: April 27, 2007

I am writing to tell you how much my wife and I are satisfied with our new roof from Interlock Roofing. Our old asphalt shingles were showing the effects of time both aesthetically and functionally. Most noticeably was the water mark on the living room ceiling that just kept growing with each passing rain. We certainly weren't looking forward to buying a new roof, since we were still paying for our wedding six months before, but knew we had to do something soon. I mentioned to Dawn that I had heard metal roofs were becoming popular because of how long they last; but she was concerned our home would look like a fast food restaurant, a factory, or even worse a tin roof barn. She made it clear that a modern looking metal roof would ruin the look of our 1860s vintage home. I said I thought I had seen a couple of years ago a house that was done with what I thought the sign said was metal but looked like shingles instead of ridged sheets she pictured. The problem was I couldn't remember the name of the roofer – just that they had an orange sign. A friend of our mentioned there was a Home Show coming up in Worchester and we figured it would be fun to look around and dream about improvements we could make. As we walked the aisles, I saw your familiar orange sign and product display booth. I said to Dawn look at this! This looks really nice – it looks just like " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">slate! Wouldn't that look really great on our house! Two weeks later, you explained what made Interlock Roofing different from other materials and the lifetime " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">warranty helped us feel confident in making what was for us a major purchase decision. Although an Interlock roof might cost more initially, we think it is well worth it knowing we will never have to buy another roof for this home again. Your company and crews are great! A representative called to let us know materials were being delivered and when they arrived they were neatly stored out of the way until the work began. A supervisor called to let us know when the work would begin, and except for two days of rain which delayed their start, the job was completed within the estimated three days. At the end of each day, they cleaned up after themselves and when the job was competed they raked up any pieces that may have been missed in the grass. The completed roof looks great and enhances the appearance of our home. We have had many people stop and compliment us on it and at least one had already installed an Interlock roof of their own. Should we ever move from this home in the future, one of the features we will look for is an Interlock roof or plan on upgrading to one in our new home as well.

Review: June 2, 2006 Completion: July 25, 2005

Just wanted to let you know that we are very satisfied with the aluminum interlocking roof which was installed in July of 2005. It was amazing to us how quickly and efficiently your men worked in removing our old asphalt layers of roof and installing the new one. Needless to say, we were very impressed with their work as well as our new roof! Unfortunately, during installation of the roof, damage was done to the interior ceiling of our dining room. Interlock did respond and the damaged area was repaired in a timely manner. Unfortunately our existing ceilings are plaster and the repaired area was done in wallboard which simply do not match. In order for this to be repaired properly, the entire ceiling has to be repainted with a light texture. Whatever you can do to help rectify the pending repair to the interior ceiling would be greatly appreciated. We look forward to speaking with you in the near future. Once again, thank you for offering us the opportunity to upgrade our home with an outstanding roof.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Shelton

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Shelton, Connecticut. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Shelton.

Will a metal roof handle Connecticut's freeze-thaw cycles without cracking or warping?

Yes—aluminum's crystalline structure and flexibility make it immune to the cracking and brittleness that plague asphalt and concrete over Shelton's approximately 72 freeze-thaw days per year. Unlike tile or wood, which absorb moisture and expand when frozen, aluminum simply expands and contracts without material degradation. The Alunar 70% PVDF coating (warranted 30 years against chalking) bonds to both panel faces, sealing out moisture before it ever enters the substrate. Combined with proper underlayment and our four-way interlocking system, your roof remains watertight and structurally sound through decades of seasonal cycling.

How does a metal roof perform with Shelton's average 65 centimeters of snow annually?

Metal roofs shed snow and ice far more effectively than asphalt because their smooth, hard surfaces prevent ice dams that trap meltwater and cause leaks. Shelton's typical daily wind gusts of 19 km/h, spiking to 126 km/h during storms, work with the roof's low-friction profile to move snow naturally—you won't wake to heavy, dangerous accumulation. The aluminum substrate itself is extraordinarily light (Slate at 0.41 lb/sq ft), so even if snow lingers, the total load remains a fraction of what asphalt, wood, or traditional tile impose. Consult our installer about optional snow guards to control runoff if local terrain warrants it.

Does heavy Connecticut rainfall cause leaks in metal roofing?

No—the four-way interlocking aluminum panels are engineered to shed water faster than it falls. Shelton's 1,232 mm of annual rain is handled by the same overlap-and-lock geometry that keeps water moving downslope, with no exposed fasteners to collect pooling. The system is backed by ICC-ES evaluation report ESR-1790 (reissued 2025 for current building codes) and the Guardian lifetime limited warranty covering leaks due to material defect. Installation over a solid deck with quality underlayment ensures that any moisture approaching the substrate is wicked away. Real-world installations have weathered far harsher rainfall without incident.

Can a metal roof withstand hail, and will my homeowner's insurance notice?

Yes—Interlock metal roofing carries a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating, the highest available, with warranty coverage for hailstones up to 1.5 inches. The aluminum's ductility (ability to deform without rupturing) outperforms brittle asphalt and tile in hail events. The Guardian warranty explicitly covers impact-related damage. Many insurers recognize this durability and offer discounts on premiums for metal roofs; contact your agent with the UL 2218 Class 4 rating and 120 mph wind warranty to discuss your specific policy. Over Shelton's typical weather patterns, a metal roof's impact resilience is genuine peace of mind.

Are metal roofs safe in high winds and storms?

Absolutely. The four-way interlocking panels resist wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed to specification—a rating well above Shelton's 126 km/h wind gusts and typical storm conditions. Each panel locks mechanically into its neighbors, distributing wind load across the entire roof plane rather than relying on fasteners alone. The four-way interlock means uplift forces have nowhere to grip. Installation from coastal salt-air regions to Antarctica proves this system's real-world reliability in harsh, dynamic conditions. The Guardian warranty confirms this protection in writing.

Can my existing roof framing support a metal roof, or do I need to reinforce it?

Most homes need no structural reinforcement. The Interlock Tile profile installs at approximately 0.59 lb/sq ft—roughly 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile—allowing installation over most existing roofs. Even the heavier Shake (0.58 lb/sq ft) imposes minimal load. Compare this to asphalt shingles (typically 2–3 lb/sq ft after weathering) or slate (7+ lb/sq ft), and you realize aluminum actually lightens the structural burden. A qualified installer will assess your specific framing, but the vast majority of Connecticut homes can upgrade without expensive reinforcement, saving you money and time.

Will a metal roof reduce my cooling costs in summer?

Yes—energy-efficient Interlock colors achieve solar reflectance up to 0.55 and thermal emissivity of 0.84, reflecting heat that dark asphalt absorbs and re-radiates into your attic. Shelton receives about 3,134 hours of sunshine annually; those hours are opportunities to reject solar gain rather than trap it. Cool Roof Rating Council testing validates this performance independently. The reflective coating works year-round: in summer, it keeps heat outside; in winter, it allows solar warming while the roof's insulation value is determined by your underlayment and deck. Over a 30-year lifespan, the energy savings compound significantly.

How long does a metal roof last, and what happens if I sell my home?

The Guardian warranty is lifetime limited and non-prorated for the original owner, covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. When you sell, the warranty transfers to the next owner for 50 years from completion—a tangible asset that increases buyer confidence. Aluminum's inherent non-corrosive nature, combined with the Alunar 70% PVDF coating (30-year chalking and fade warranty), means the roof performs for decades without the tear-off-and-replace cycle of asphalt. Real installations have served since 1998; none have failed prematurely due to material defect. This is genuinely the last roof most homeowners will buy.

Who installs Interlock metal roofing in Shelton, Connecticut?

Interlock Metal Roofing (New England) Inc. has served Fairfield County and the broader region since 1999—over two decades of local expertise and accountability. They understand Connecticut's climate, building codes, and the specific conditions Shelton homeowners face: freeze-thaw cycles, about 65 cm of annual snowfall, 1,232 mm of rainfall, and wind gusts to 126 km/h. A local installer means faster response times, familiarity with town permitting, and relationships with suppliers and inspectors. We're also running a current regional promotion: no payments and no interest until Spring 2027, or 10% off installation. Contact us for a free assessment.

Is a metal roof more expensive than asphalt, and will it pay for itself?

Metal roofing typically costs more upfront than asphalt, but the math shifts dramatically over the roof's life. Asphalt lasts 15–20 years in Connecticut's climate (with 72 annual freeze-thaw days and 1,232 mm rain degrading the binder), requiring multiple replacements, tear-off debris removal, and reinstallation labor. Aluminum lasts 40–60+ years without material failure, so you're buying one roof instead of three. The Alunar 70% PVDF coating requires no maintenance, avoiding the power-washing and sealant costs asphalt demands. Add energy-efficiency cooling savings and the transferable 50-year warranty adding resale value, and a metal roof becomes the financially smarter choice for homeowners planning to stay long-term or sell with confidence.
