> We had the pleasure of meeting Jonathan Brown at the Mohegan Sun Home Show and couldn’t pass up the opportunity to tell him how happy we are with our Interlock roof of ~20 years. We constantly receive compliments from people passing by on how beautiful it looks. Most of all, we appreciate the peace of mind it gives us—knowing we’ll never have to replace our roof, thanks to the lifetime warranty and guaranteed protection against leaks.

Review: November 15, 2024 Completion: November 19, 2024

It was a pleasure working with Interlock from beginning to end. The back office was good about setting expectations for job start and duration, delivery of materials (which happened on time) and work to be performed. They were also good about making adjustments to work with trim that needed to be replaced, etc. The crew that did the install and cleanup was very professional and hard working. I am extremely satisfied with the end result and would definitely recommend Interlock! This is actually my second roof, I had one installed on a different property 20 years ago and it has held the test of time with virtually no maintenance.

Salesman was very courteous and polite. Straight forward no hype or fluff. Company kept constant contact, took care of the required building permits. Had the dumpster and materials delivered on time and removed quickly. The crew was phenomenal, polite courteous. Explained everything, and was very conscientious about their work. If the the nail didn't go in the way he liked he pulled it and did it right. Nailing was all done by hand. Roof has been great since no issues and still looks great. Over all very pleased and well worth the money.

Couldn’t have chosen a better product, it’s been 2 years since installation and have absolutely no issues. The house is cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. Speaking of winter it’s only a matter of hours after a snow storm that all the snow slides right off, no more ice dams and ice filled gutters. The installers were awesome had the entire roof done in a day and a half and cleaned up prior to leaving. We love our Interlock roof.

This letter has been a long time in coming. My husband and I had an Interlock Roof installed in November 2009 and have been meaning to tell you how pleased we are with the look of the new roof and the service provided by the installers ~ Nazaar and Vitality. We’ve gotten many questions and compliments from friends, neighbors and passersby. Both our home and detached garage needed to be re-roofed, with both requiring removal of the old roofing material and the installation of plywood before applying the Interlock product. We were originally told that it would take up to 2 weeks for the job to be completed. To our amazement, the job was completed within a week’s time and that included inclement weather! Nazaar and Vitaliy put in very long days, were very polite, honored their commitments and ALWAYS cleaned everything up before they left for the day. We have children and a dog and found not one nail in the yard after the job was completed. Based on this experience and a product that speaks for itself, we would definitely recommend an Interlock Roof!

I wish to thank " target="\_blank" rel="noopener">Interlock Industries, Inc. for a great roofing system. I'm 100% satisfied and it has a clean and beautiful look. It's great! It's wonderful to know the roof never need replacement again. I also wish to thank Bob Allen, Jerry and Paul McAllister for being so helpful in completing the work. I know this " target="\_blank" rel="noopener">roof system was right when we met Bob Allen the first time, he explained everything in detail. Everything he said was correct. The men who did the work were polite and respectiful, and were clean and neat in the work process. Thank you guys. I would recommend an Interlock Roof for every home, or any building and the long term ">cost is less than another roof system.

Sorry I didn’t get this to you sooner, but I just wanted to drop you a line on the excellent installation of my roof by Nazar and Sergei. They installed our roof in February and never let the harsh weather affect their attention to detail and their determination to do quality work. I was very fortunate to get these two Ukrainian gentlemen as my installers.

Review: August 25, 2007 Completion: April 27, 2007

I am writing to tell you how much my wife and I are satisfied with our new roof from Interlock Roofing. Our old asphalt shingles were showing the effects of time both aesthetically and functionally. Most noticeably was the water mark on the living room ceiling that just kept growing with each passing rain. We certainly weren't looking forward to buying a new roof, since we were still paying for our wedding six months before, but knew we had to do something soon. I mentioned to Dawn that I had heard metal roofs were becoming popular because of how long they last; but she was concerned our home would look like a fast food restaurant, a factory, or even worse a tin roof barn. She made it clear that a modern looking metal roof would ruin the look of our 1860s vintage home. I said I thought I had seen a couple of years ago a house that was done with what I thought the sign said was metal but looked like shingles instead of ridged sheets she pictured. The problem was I couldn't remember the name of the roofer – just that they had an orange sign. A friend of our mentioned there was a Home Show coming up in Worchester and we figured it would be fun to look around and dream about improvements we could make. As we walked the aisles, I saw your familiar orange sign and product display booth. I said to Dawn look at this! This looks really nice – it looks just like " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">slate! Wouldn't that look really great on our house! Two weeks later, you explained what made Interlock Roofing different from other materials and the lifetime " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">warranty helped us feel confident in making what was for us a major purchase decision. Although an Interlock roof might cost more initially, we think it is well worth it knowing we will never have to buy another roof for this home again. Your company and crews are great! A representative called to let us know materials were being delivered and when they arrived they were neatly stored out of the way until the work began. A supervisor called to let us know when the work would begin, and except for two days of rain which delayed their start, the job was completed within the estimated three days. At the end of each day, they cleaned up after themselves and when the job was competed they raked up any pieces that may have been missed in the grass. The completed roof looks great and enhances the appearance of our home. We have had many people stop and compliment us on it and at least one had already installed an Interlock roof of their own. Should we ever move from this home in the future, one of the features we will look for is an Interlock roof or plan on upgrading to one in our new home as well.

Review: June 2, 2006 Completion: July 25, 2005

Just wanted to let you know that we are very satisfied with the aluminum interlocking roof which was installed in July of 2005. It was amazing to us how quickly and efficiently your men worked in removing our old asphalt layers of roof and installing the new one. Needless to say, we were very impressed with their work as well as our new roof! Unfortunately, during installation of the roof, damage was done to the interior ceiling of our dining room. Interlock did respond and the damaged area was repaired in a timely manner. Unfortunately our existing ceilings are plaster and the repaired area was done in wallboard which simply do not match. In order for this to be repaired properly, the entire ceiling has to be repainted with a light texture. Whatever you can do to help rectify the pending repair to the interior ceiling would be greatly appreciated. We look forward to speaking with you in the near future. Once again, thank you for offering us the opportunity to upgrade our home with an outstanding roof.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in West End

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in West End, Connecticut. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in West End.

Will a metal roof handle Connecticut's freeze-thaw cycles?

Yes—aluminum actually improves with freeze-thaw stress. West End averages about 54 freeze-thaw days per year, which destroys asphalt and breaks wood shake by opening and closing pores. Aluminum expands and contracts uniformly without absorption, so repeated freezing causes zero degradation. The 3105-H24 alloy used in Interlock panels has been tested in Antarctic research stations, which see far more severe cycling than Fairfield County's 58 cm annual snow. Your coating stays intact because the Alunar fluorocarbon finish is applied to both sides of the panel and carries a 30-year warranty against chalking and fading.

How does a metal roof perform under heavy snow in West End?

Metal roofs shed snow faster than asphalt—the smooth aluminum surface and slight panels slope encourage slide-off before accumulation loads the structure. West End receives about 58 cm of snow annually across 3127 sunshine hours, so snow doesn't sit for months. The four-way interlocking panels lock together so tightly that snow and ice cannot work into seams. Ice dams form when heat escapes through the attic; a metal roof reflects rather than absorbs that heat, so your gutters stay cooler. If you want snow guards for safety, they install directly into the panel locks without fasteners.

Can metal roofing withstand Connecticut's wind gusts?

Yes—Interlock's four-way interlocking aluminum panels are warranted to 120 mph winds, and West End's typical gust speeds reach about 142 km/h (88 mph) with rare extremes. The interlocks create a unified roof membrane where each panel locks mechanically to its neighbors on all four sides, so no fastener pulls a single sheet loose. Wind tries to lift shingles by peeling edges; locked seams have no edges to peel. The design was verified under ICC-ES evaluation ESR-1790 for IBC/IRC compliance, which includes wind uplift testing that mirrors coastal and regional storm conditions.

Does West End's rainfall cause leaks under metal roofing?

Heavy rain drains off a metal roof faster than asphalt because water runs down smooth aluminum instead of soaking into granules and finding slow paths. West End gets about 1222 mm of rain yearly—that's 3.3 mm per day on average—and the interlocked panel system sheds it instantly. Four-way locks mean water cannot work backward into seams under pressure; it flows downslope. Installation over your existing roof with proper underlayment and flashing creates a sealed cavity that acts like a second defense. Combine that with a solid deck and you've got the same leak prevention as asphalt but without the degradation that rain inflicts on shingle granules over time.

Will a metal roof reduce my homeowner's insurance or survive hail?

Interlock panels carry the highest impact rating available—UL 2218 Class 4—which means they resist hailstones up to 1.5 inches without permanent deformation. Many insurers offer discounts for Class 4 impact-rated roofing because claims are rare; ask your agent about specific savings for your home. The aluminum alloy is non-combustible and earns a Class A fire rating, another insurance-positive factor. Some carriers will discount 5–15% on premiums, offsetting installation cost over time. Fairfield County does see hail, and asphalt shingles fail regularly under Class 4 impact. Metal won't perforate—your warranty even covers that unlikely event.

Do I need to reinforce my roof to handle metal roofing?

No reinforcement needed. Interlock's Slate profile weighs about 0.41 lb per square foot—roughly the same as asphalt. The Shake runs 0.58 lb/sq ft, and even the Mediterranean Tile, which mimics heavy clay and concrete tile, weighs just 0.59 lb/sq ft—about 96% lighter than the real thing. Your existing roof structure was built to support asphalt or shingles, so aluminum installs directly over them without adding stress. Installation happens fast because carpenters don't have to frame walls or add posts. That lightness also means less force on fasteners and lower risk of structural fatigue over 50 years.

Why doesn't aluminum rust like steel roofing does?

Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron—rust is iron oxide. When aluminum meets oxygen, it forms an ultra-thin oxide layer that seals the surface and stops corrosion. If that layer scratches, a new one heals itself automatically. Interlock panels use roofing-grade 3105-H24 and 3003-H24 aluminum alloy (ASTM B209), the same material shipped to coastal salt-air homes worldwide and even to Antarctic research stations where salt spray and extreme weathering would destroy steel in months. The Alunar fluorocarbon finish (70% PVDF) is applied to both sides for extra durability in harsh air. West End's 1222 mm annual rainfall and occasional salt-spray influence from the coast won't corrode aluminum the way it oxidizes steel.

Who installs Interlock metal roofing in West End, Connecticut?

Interlock Metal Roofing (New England) Inc. serves your area and has since 1999—that's over 25 years of regional installation and warranty service. The parent company manufactured every panel in Delta, BC since 1998, so parts, support, and technical knowledge run deep. Your installer knows Fairfield County's freeze-thaw cycles, snow loads, and wind patterns because they've lived through them. Right now, financing is available: no payments and no interest until Spring 2027, or choose 10% off installation. Local service means faster callbacks and someone who understands your specific roof pitch, existing structure, and neighborhood snow-wind exposure.

How long does a metal roof last, and what does the warranty actually cover?

Interlock offers a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty to the original owner—covers rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. That means no deductible increases over time; the same coverage applies in year one and year 50. The warranty transfers once to the next owner with 50 years remaining, adding major resale value. The Alunar coating itself carries a separate 30-year warranty against chalking and fading. Real-world Interlock roofs installed in 1998 are still performing. Combined with West End's moderate climate—54 freeze-thaw days per year and 3127 sunshine hours—your metal roof should easily outlast two or three asphalt roofs, making it the last roof you ever install.

Is a metal roof worth the higher upfront cost compared to asphalt?

Metal costs more upfront—typically $12,000–$18,000 for an average home—but outlasts asphalt by 30–40 years. Asphalt lasts 15–20 years in West End's freeze-thaw cycles; you'll replace it 2–3 times over a metal roof's life. Three replacements at $8,000–$12,000 each plus labor adds $24,000–$36,000. Metal's lifetime limited warranty and 50-year transferable coverage mean zero major repairs. energy-efficient colors reduce cooling cost year-round with emissivity of 0.84 and solar reflectance up to 0.55. Insurance discounts for Class 4 hail rating and Class A fire rating often run 5–15%, cutting annual premiums by $100–$300. Over 50 years, the total cost of ownership favors metal by $10,000–$20,000 before resale premium.
