> We had the pleasure of meeting Jonathan Brown at the Mohegan Sun Home Show and couldn’t pass up the opportunity to tell him how happy we are with our Interlock roof of ~20 years. We constantly receive compliments from people passing by on how beautiful it looks. Most of all, we appreciate the peace of mind it gives us—knowing we’ll never have to replace our roof, thanks to the lifetime warranty and guaranteed protection against leaks.

Review: November 15, 2024 Completion: November 19, 2024

It was a pleasure working with Interlock from beginning to end. The back office was good about setting expectations for job start and duration, delivery of materials (which happened on time) and work to be performed. They were also good about making adjustments to work with trim that needed to be replaced, etc. The crew that did the install and cleanup was very professional and hard working. I am extremely satisfied with the end result and would definitely recommend Interlock! This is actually my second roof, I had one installed on a different property 20 years ago and it has held the test of time with virtually no maintenance.

Salesman was very courteous and polite. Straight forward no hype or fluff. Company kept constant contact, took care of the required building permits. Had the dumpster and materials delivered on time and removed quickly. The crew was phenomenal, polite courteous. Explained everything, and was very conscientious about their work. If the the nail didn't go in the way he liked he pulled it and did it right. Nailing was all done by hand. Roof has been great since no issues and still looks great. Over all very pleased and well worth the money.

Review: June 15, 2019 Completion: September 17, 2017

Couldn’t have chosen a better product, it’s been 2 years since installation and have absolutely no issues. The house is cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. Speaking of winter it’s only a matter of hours after a snow storm that all the snow slides right off, no more ice dams and ice filled gutters. The installers were awesome had the entire roof done in a day and a half and cleaned up prior to leaving. We love our Interlock roof.

This letter has been a long time in coming. My husband and I had an Interlock Roof installed in November 2009 and have been meaning to tell you how pleased we are with the look of the new roof and the service provided by the installers ~ Nazaar and Vitality. We’ve gotten many questions and compliments from friends, neighbors and passersby. Both our home and detached garage needed to be re-roofed, with both requiring removal of the old roofing material and the installation of plywood before applying the Interlock product. We were originally told that it would take up to 2 weeks for the job to be completed. To our amazement, the job was completed within a week’s time and that included inclement weather! Nazaar and Vitaliy put in very long days, were very polite, honored their commitments and ALWAYS cleaned everything up before they left for the day. We have children and a dog and found not one nail in the yard after the job was completed. Based on this experience and a product that speaks for itself, we would definitely recommend an Interlock Roof!

I wish to thank " target="\_blank" rel="noopener">Interlock Industries, Inc. for a great roofing system. I'm 100% satisfied and it has a clean and beautiful look. It's great! It's wonderful to know the roof never need replacement again. I also wish to thank Bob Allen, Jerry and Paul McAllister for being so helpful in completing the work. I know this " target="\_blank" rel="noopener">roof system was right when we met Bob Allen the first time, he explained everything in detail. Everything he said was correct. The men who did the work were polite and respectiful, and were clean and neat in the work process. Thank you guys. I would recommend an Interlock Roof for every home, or any building and the long term ">cost is less than another roof system.

Sorry I didn’t get this to you sooner, but I just wanted to drop you a line on the excellent installation of my roof by Nazar and Sergei. They installed our roof in February and never let the harsh weather affect their attention to detail and their determination to do quality work. I was very fortunate to get these two Ukrainian gentlemen as my installers.

Review: August 25, 2007 Completion: April 27, 2007

I am writing to tell you how much my wife and I are satisfied with our new roof from Interlock Roofing. Our old asphalt shingles were showing the effects of time both aesthetically and functionally. Most noticeably was the water mark on the living room ceiling that just kept growing with each passing rain. We certainly weren't looking forward to buying a new roof, since we were still paying for our wedding six months before, but knew we had to do something soon. I mentioned to Dawn that I had heard metal roofs were becoming popular because of how long they last; but she was concerned our home would look like a fast food restaurant, a factory, or even worse a tin roof barn. She made it clear that a modern looking metal roof would ruin the look of our 1860s vintage home. I said I thought I had seen a couple of years ago a house that was done with what I thought the sign said was metal but looked like shingles instead of ridged sheets she pictured. The problem was I couldn't remember the name of the roofer – just that they had an orange sign. A friend of our mentioned there was a Home Show coming up in Worchester and we figured it would be fun to look around and dream about improvements we could make. As we walked the aisles, I saw your familiar orange sign and product display booth. I said to Dawn look at this! This looks really nice – it looks just like " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">slate! Wouldn't that look really great on our house! Two weeks later, you explained what made Interlock Roofing different from other materials and the lifetime " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">warranty helped us feel confident in making what was for us a major purchase decision. Although an Interlock roof might cost more initially, we think it is well worth it knowing we will never have to buy another roof for this home again. Your company and crews are great! A representative called to let us know materials were being delivered and when they arrived they were neatly stored out of the way until the work began. A supervisor called to let us know when the work would begin, and except for two days of rain which delayed their start, the job was completed within the estimated three days. At the end of each day, they cleaned up after themselves and when the job was competed they raked up any pieces that may have been missed in the grass. The completed roof looks great and enhances the appearance of our home. We have had many people stop and compliment us on it and at least one had already installed an Interlock roof of their own. Should we ever move from this home in the future, one of the features we will look for is an Interlock roof or plan on upgrading to one in our new home as well.

Review: June 2, 2006 Completion: July 25, 2005

Just wanted to let you know that we are very satisfied with the aluminum interlocking roof which was installed in July of 2005. It was amazing to us how quickly and efficiently your men worked in removing our old asphalt layers of roof and installing the new one. Needless to say, we were very impressed with their work as well as our new roof! Unfortunately, during installation of the roof, damage was done to the interior ceiling of our dining room. Interlock did respond and the damaged area was repaired in a timely manner. Unfortunately our existing ceilings are plaster and the repaired area was done in wallboard which simply do not match. In order for this to be repaired properly, the entire ceiling has to be repainted with a light texture. Whatever you can do to help rectify the pending repair to the interior ceiling would be greatly appreciated. We look forward to speaking with you in the near future. Once again, thank you for offering us the opportunity to upgrade our home with an outstanding roof.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in South Windham

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in South Windham, Connecticut. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in South Windham.

Will a metal roof handle Connecticut's freeze-thaw cycles?

Aluminum roofing is inherently unaffected by freeze-thaw stress because the material contains no iron and cannot rust or rot. South Windham experiences roughly 87 freeze-thaw days per year, a cycle that splits wood shingles, cracks asphalt, and delaminates traditional tile—none of which happen to aluminum. The 3105-H24 aluminum alloy used in Interlock panels maintains structural integrity across thousands of thermal cycles, and the Alunar 70% PVDF coating (warranted 30 years) protects against salt-air corrosion during winter applications.

How does a metal roof perform under heavy snow in Connecticut?

Metal roofing sheds snow and ice more effectively than asphalt because aluminum's smooth, sloped profiles and low friction coefficient prevent ice dams—a major cause of winter water damage in regions like South Windham, which receives about 75 cm of snow annually. Interlock's four-way interlocking seam design prevents water infiltration even when snow loads melt and refreeze. Optional snow guards can be installed to control runoff safely. At 0.41 to 0.59 lb/sq ft depending on profile, the roofing is so light that no structural reinforcement is needed, even in snow-heavy years.

Why doesn't aluminum rust like steel metal roofing?

Aluminum contains no iron—the element that oxidizes into rust—making rusting physically impossible. When aluminum's surface is scratched, it naturally forms a protective oxide layer within hours, healing itself without paint or maintenance. Steel roofing requires constant vigilance, especially near salt air, but Interlock's 3105-H24 aluminum alloy and dual-sided Alunar 70% PVDF coating eliminate this burden entirely. The Guardian lifetime limited warranty explicitly covers rusting, guaranteeing that corrosion will never compromise your roof over your ownership or the next owner's 50-year transfer period.

Is metal roofing worth the cost compared to asphalt shingles?

Metal roofing costs more upfront than asphalt but ends the 15–20 year replacement cycle, making it the last roof you install. Over 50 years, asphalt requires 2–3 complete tearoffs and landfill disposal; Interlock's lifetime limited warranty for the original owner and 50-year transferable coverage means one installation serves two generations. With South Windham's 1208 mm annual rainfall and 75 cm snow, freeze-thaw damage accelerates asphalt degradation. Current financing offers zero payments and zero interest until Spring 2027 or 10% off installation—turning the higher material cost into long-term savings and home equity.

Will my house need structural reinforcement for a metal roof?

No structural work is required. Interlock's Mediterranean Tile profile weighs only 0.59 lb/sq ft—roughly 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile—allowing it to install directly over most existing roofs without reinforcement. The Slate profile installs at just 0.41 lb/sq ft. Because aluminum is so light, homeowners in South Windham avoid the $5,000–$15,000 cost of structural upgrades that traditional tile or slate demand. This also means faster installation and the ability to retire your old roof without tearoff labor, preserving existing insulation and reducing waste entering landfills.

Can metal roofing handle Connecticut wind and nor'easters?

Interlock's four-way interlocking aluminum panels are warranted to resist winds up to 120 mph when installed to specification. South Windham's typical gusts reach about 18 km/h daily, with recorded extreme gusts near 127 km/h—well within the roof's rated capacity. The UL 2218 Class 4 hail rating demonstrates the mechanical strength of the interlock system; that same durability prevents wind lift and panel separation. The ICC-ES ESR-1790 evaluation (reissued 2025) confirms compliance with IBC/IRC wind-load codes, so your roof meets current building standards for Atlantic coastal storm exposure.

How does metal roofing prevent leaks during heavy rain?

The four-way interlocking seams create a continuous overlapping barrier that sheds water downslope without pooling. South Windham receives about 1208 mm of rain annually; the overlapped panel design handles both steady rainfall and the intense downpours common to New England. Installed over solid decking and underlayment (standard practice), Interlock roofing is as leak-proof as asphalt—in fact, the tight seams are superior because they don't degrade or separate like shingle tabs. The ICC-ES ESR-1790 evaluation confirms watertightness under rainfall testing, and the lifetime limited warranty covers water penetration, giving you complete confidence during nor'easters and spring storms.

What maintenance does a metal roof actually need?

Metal roofing requires virtually no maintenance beyond occasional gutter cleaning. Asphalt shingles demand annual inspection for splits, curling, and moss, especially in climates like South Windham with 87 freeze-thaw cycles per year and 3066 sunshine hours that bake the surface. Interlock's Alunar 70% PVDF coating (warranted 30 years against chalking and fading per ASTM standards) resists weathering passively; the aluminum substrate never rots, splits, or curls. CALGreen verification confirms reduced maintenance burden compared to traditional materials. You spend money on lasting protection once, then enjoy decades of reliability without costly repairs or seasonal upkeep.

Do reflective metal roof colors really lower cooling costs?

energy-efficient Interlock colors achieve thermal emissivity of 0.84 and solar reflectance up to 0.55 (Aged Copper Penny profile), meaning they bounce heat back into the atmosphere rather than absorbing it like dark asphalt. In South Windham's 3066 annual sunshine hours, this reflection directly reduces air-conditioning load and indoor heat gain, especially in spring and fall when outside air is mild. Cool Roof Rating Council certification confirms measurable thermal performance. While South Windham's 10.8°C mean temperature limits summer cooling demand compared to southern states, the reflective benefit compounds across decades, lowering your lifetime energy costs and reducing peak demand strain on regional grids during heat waves.

Who installs Interlock metal roofing in South Windham?

Interlock Metal Roofing (New England) Inc. has served Windham County and the broader region since 1999, bringing 25+ years of experience installing four-way interlocking aluminum panels in New England's demanding climate. The company understands South Windham's 75 cm annual snowfall, freeze-thaw stress, and coastal-proximity corrosion risk, ensuring every installation follows specification for wind (120 mph rated), hail (UL 2218 Class 4), and watertightness (ICC-ESR-1790). Current financing offers zero payments and zero interest until Spring 2027 or 10% off installation. Contact the local installer to schedule a consultation and learn how Interlock's lifetime limited warranty protects your home.
