| Spec / Rating | Climate / Risk Factor + What It Solves |
|---|---|
| Wind resistance: 120+ mph (193+ kph) | Extreme wind, hurricanes, storm uplift: full interlocking attachment helps prevent blow-offs, edge lifting, and panel loss in high-gust events. |
| Fire rating: Class A (with proper assembly) | Wildfire, embers, radiant heat, chimney sparks: non-combustible roof assembly provides the highest residential fire protection rating. |
| Hail resistance: UL 2218 Class 4 | Hail and impact debris: highest impact classification; resists cracking, splitting, and surface loss common with asphalt under hail strikes. |
| Snow & ice performance: interlocking, shedding profile | Heavy snow, freeze-thaw, ice dams: smooth aluminum sheds snow efficiently and the interlocking design helps block water intrusion when melt-refreeze cycles occur. (Final snow-load capacity depends on roof structure and local code.) |
| Corrosion resistance: aluminum (won’t rust) | Salt air, coastal humidity, wet climates: aluminum naturally resists rust and corrosion, reducing long-term failure risk in marine or high-moisture environments. |
| Heat / UV durability: baked-on coating system | High heat, intense sun, thermal cycling: coatings resist UV breakdown and temperature-swing fatigue, slowing fading and surface degradation. |
| Moss / algae resistance: smooth coated surface | Wet shade, organic growth: low-porosity metal surface gives moss/algae less to grip, reducing staining and maintenance. |
| Material: heavy-gauge aluminum roof profiles (Slate / Shake / Shingle / Tile / Standing Seam) | All-season structural stability: lightweight, dent-resistant metal system stays stable through large hot-cold swings and severe weather. |
| Expected lifespan: 50+ years | Long-term durability across climates: avoids re-roof cycles typical of shorter-life materials, even in high-stress environments. |

What our customers are saying:
Everybody was great to work with highly professional. Any underlying damage was all taken care of and we love the roof.
> We had the pleasure of meeting Jonathan Brown at the Mohegan Sun Home Show and couldn’t pass up the opportunity to tell him how happy we are with our Interlock roof of ~20 years. We constantly receive compliments from people passing by on how beautiful it looks. Most of all, we appreciate the peace of mind it gives us—knowing we’ll never have to replace our roof, thanks to the lifetime warranty and guaranteed protection against leaks.
Jonathan was great help getting us all the information needed for the roof and what to expect, and the whole process. The installation was fast, the roofers were hard working and professional. The look of the metal roof is superb!
It was a pleasure working with Interlock from beginning to end. The back office was good about setting expectations for job start and duration, delivery of materials (which happened on time) and work to be performed. They were also good about making adjustments to work with trim that needed to be replaced, etc. The crew that did the install and cleanup was very professional and hard working. I am extremely satisfied with the end result and would definitely recommend Interlock! This is actually my second roof, I had one installed on a different property 20 years ago and it has held the test of time with virtually no maintenance.
What a beautiful roof. We are so happy and now we have a forever roof. Thank you. Techs were great. Positive: Punctuality, Quality Services: Roof installation
Salesman was very courteous and polite. Straight forward no hype or fluff. Company kept constant contact, took care of the required building permits. Had the dumpster and materials delivered on time and removed quickly. The crew was phenomenal, polite courteous. Explained everything, and was very conscientious about their work. If the the nail didn't go in the way he liked he pulled it and did it right. Nailing was all done by hand. Roof has been great since no issues and still looks great. Over all very pleased and well worth the money.
Couldn’t have chosen a better product, it’s been 2 years since installation and have absolutely no issues. The house is cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. Speaking of winter it’s only a matter of hours after a snow storm that all the snow slides right off, no more ice dams and ice filled gutters. The installers were awesome had the entire roof done in a day and a half and cleaned up prior to leaving. We love our Interlock roof.
This letter has been a long time in coming. My husband and I had an Interlock Roof installed in November 2009 and have been meaning to tell you how pleased we are with the look of the new roof and the service provided by the installers ~ Nazaar and Vitality. We’ve gotten many questions and compliments from friends, neighbors and passersby. Both our home and detached garage needed to be re-roofed, with both requiring removal of the old roofing material and the installation of plywood before applying the Interlock product. We were originally told that it would take up to 2 weeks for the job to be completed. To our amazement, the job was completed within a week’s time and that included inclement weather! Nazaar and Vitaliy put in very long days, were very polite, honored their commitments and ALWAYS cleaned everything up before they left for the day. We have children and a dog and found not one nail in the yard after the job was completed. Based on this experience and a product that speaks for itself, we would definitely recommend an Interlock Roof!
I wish to thank " target="\_blank" rel="noopener">Interlock Industries, Inc. for a great roofing system. I'm 100% satisfied and it has a clean and beautiful look. It's great! It's wonderful to know the roof never need replacement again. I also wish to thank Bob Allen, Jerry and Paul McAllister for being so helpful in completing the work. I know this " target="\_blank" rel="noopener">roof system was right when we met Bob Allen the first time, he explained everything in detail. Everything he said was correct. The men who did the work were polite and respectiful, and were clean and neat in the work process. Thank you guys. I would recommend an Interlock Roof for every home, or any building and the long term ">cost is less than another roof system.
Sorry I didn’t get this to you sooner, but I just wanted to drop you a line on the excellent installation of my roof by Nazar and Sergei. They installed our roof in February and never let the harsh weather affect their attention to detail and their determination to do quality work. I was very fortunate to get these two Ukrainian gentlemen as my installers.
I am writing to tell you how much my wife and I are satisfied with our new roof from Interlock Roofing. Our old asphalt shingles were showing the effects of time both aesthetically and functionally. Most noticeably was the water mark on the living room ceiling that just kept growing with each passing rain. We certainly weren't looking forward to buying a new roof, since we were still paying for our wedding six months before, but knew we had to do something soon. I mentioned to Dawn that I had heard metal roofs were becoming popular because of how long they last; but she was concerned our home would look like a fast food restaurant, a factory, or even worse a tin roof barn. She made it clear that a modern looking metal roof would ruin the look of our 1860s vintage home. I said I thought I had seen a couple of years ago a house that was done with what I thought the sign said was metal but looked like shingles instead of ridged sheets she pictured. The problem was I couldn't remember the name of the roofer – just that they had an orange sign. A friend of our mentioned there was a Home Show coming up in Worchester and we figured it would be fun to look around and dream about improvements we could make. As we walked the aisles, I saw your familiar orange sign and product display booth. I said to Dawn look at this! This looks really nice – it looks just like " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">slate! Wouldn't that look really great on our house! Two weeks later, you explained what made Interlock Roofing different from other materials and the lifetime " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">warranty helped us feel confident in making what was for us a major purchase decision. Although an Interlock roof might cost more initially, we think it is well worth it knowing we will never have to buy another roof for this home again. Your company and crews are great! A representative called to let us know materials were being delivered and when they arrived they were neatly stored out of the way until the work began. A supervisor called to let us know when the work would begin, and except for two days of rain which delayed their start, the job was completed within the estimated three days. At the end of each day, they cleaned up after themselves and when the job was competed they raked up any pieces that may have been missed in the grass. The completed roof looks great and enhances the appearance of our home. We have had many people stop and compliment us on it and at least one had already installed an Interlock roof of their own. Should we ever move from this home in the future, one of the features we will look for is an Interlock roof or plan on upgrading to one in our new home as well.
Just wanted to let you know that we are very satisfied with the aluminum interlocking roof which was installed in July of 2005. It was amazing to us how quickly and efficiently your men worked in removing our old asphalt layers of roof and installing the new one. Needless to say, we were very impressed with their work as well as our new roof! Unfortunately, during installation of the roof, damage was done to the interior ceiling of our dining room. Interlock did respond and the damaged area was repaired in a timely manner. Unfortunately our existing ceilings are plaster and the repaired area was done in wallboard which simply do not match. In order for this to be repaired properly, the entire ceiling has to be repainted with a light texture. Whatever you can do to help rectify the pending repair to the interior ceiling would be greatly appreciated. We look forward to speaking with you in the near future. Once again, thank you for offering us the opportunity to upgrade our home with an outstanding roof.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Wauregan
The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Wauregan, Connecticut. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Wauregan.
How does a metal roof handle Wauregan's 75 cm of annual snowfall?
Aluminum's smooth, interlocking surface sheds snow and ice effectively, reducing ice-dam formation that traps meltwater on asphalt roofs. Wauregan receives about 75 cm of snow per year across roughly 87 freeze-thaw cycles, creating conditions where trapped ice causes leaks and structural stress. Interlock's four-way interlocking panels and optional snow guards channel melt safely to gutters. Unlike brittle asphalt that cracks under repeated freeze-thaw, aluminum's non-oxidizing surface endures the cycle without degradation—a critical advantage when your region cycles above and below freezing throughout winter.
Will freeze-thaw cycling damage an aluminum metal roof in Connecticut?
No. Aluminum's molecular structure contains no iron, so it cannot rust or corrode—the primary failure mechanism in freeze-thaw climates. Wauregan experiences approximately 87 freeze-thaw days annually with mean temperatures of 10.8°C, conditions that cause wood to split, asphalt to curl, and steel to pit. Interlock's 3105-H24 / 3003-H24 aluminum alloy and dual-sided Alunar PVDF coating remain stable through these cycles. The Guardian Warranty explicitly covers cracking, splitting, and loss of integrity—claims rarely honored on conventional materials after their first harsh winter.
Can a metal roof withstand Wauregan's typical wind gusts?
Yes—Interlock panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph when installed to specification. Wauregan's typical gusts reach 127 km/h (about 79 mph), with extreme gusts potentially approaching 193 km/h (120 mph) during nor'easters. The four-way interlocking design creates a unified system that flexes without separating, unlike shingles that lift and tear. This wind warranty covers your home during the nor'easters common to Windham County, and many insurers recognize the UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating and wind resistance with premium discounts.
Does heavy rain leak through metal roofing panels?
Wauregan receives about 1208 mm of rain annually—above the U.S. average—distributed across frequent nor'easters and spring storms. Interlock's four-way interlocking panels create a labyrinth seal; water cannot bridge the overlap without flowing downhill. When installed over solid decking with underlayment per ESR-1790 specifications, the roof performs identically to asphalt in heavy rain but without the degradation. Asphalt's granule loss accelerates in high-rainfall regions; aluminum's oxide layer self-heals when scratched and never degrades from water exposure. After 25 years of rain in Wauregan, your aluminum roof is still shedding water as designed.
Why is aluminum roofing better than steel in a coastal-influenced New England climate?
Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron—rusting requires iron oxidation. Steel develops rust that penetrates and weakens the material; aluminum's oxide layer is only 0.0002 inches thick and self-heals when scratched. Wauregan lies in Windham County, within salt-air influence from coastal storm systems, and experiences high moisture and freeze-thaw cycles that accelerate steel corrosion. Interlock's dual-sided Alunar 70% PVDF coating adds 30-year protection against weathering. Steel roofs require ongoing maintenance to prevent rust bloom; aluminum requires none. The Guardian Warranty covers rusting—a claim never needed on aluminum.
What hail protection does an aluminum metal roof offer, and can it lower insurance costs?
Interlock panels carry UL 2218 Class 4, the highest impact rating available, and the Guardian Warranty covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Wauregan's spring and early-summer thunderstorms can produce hail; Class 4 certification means your roof survives impacts that would crack or puncture asphalt shingles. Many Connecticut insurers offer discounts (typically 10–20%) for Class 4 metal roofing; some also recognize the wind warranty and lower maintenance risk. Request your insurer's metal roof discount—it often offsets a portion of the installation cost, and protects your structure for decades rather than just 15–20 years.
Can Wauregan homes install metal tile roofing without structural reinforcement?
Yes. Interlock's Mediterranean Tile profile weighs approximately 0.59 lb/sq ft—about 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile—so no structural reinforcement is required. Most homes can accept the additional weight without framing upgrades, and Interlock installs directly over existing asphalt or wood shingles, avoiding the expense and mess of tear-off. This lightness also reduces load during ice accumulation in Wauregan's 75 cm annual snowfall, lowering stress on trusses and gutters. The Slate and Shingle profiles are even lighter, at 0.41 lb/sq ft, making retrofit feasible for older homes where structural capacity is limited.
How much maintenance does an aluminum metal roof need in Connecticut?
Essentially none. Aluminum does not rust, rot, split, or curl—conditions that drive maintenance on asphalt, wood, and tile roofs. Wauregan's 1208 mm annual rainfall and 87 freeze-thaw cycles would cause asphalt granule loss, wood rot, and tile cracking within 10–15 years; aluminum simply sheds debris and remains unaffected. The Alunar 70% PVDF coating is warranted 30 years against chalking and fading (ASTM D4214/D2244 measured), so color retention requires no attention. Gutters and flashing need routine inspection like any roof, but the metal surface itself is maintenance-free—a major cost and time savings over decades of ownership.
Is a metal roof worth the upfront cost over 50 years in Connecticut?
Yes. The Guardian Warranty delivers lifetime limited, non-prorated material coverage to the original owner, then 50 years to the next owner—meaning one metal roof spans multiple ownership cycles while asphalt requires 2–3 replacements. In Wauregan's climate of 1208 mm rain, 75 cm snow, and 87 freeze-thaw days, asphalt degrades visibly within 12–15 years; aluminum remains intact. Factoring labor, disposal costs for old shingles, and avoided tear-offs, a metal roof typically equals or undercuts asphalt's lifetime cost. Interlock's current promotion—no payments and no interest until Spring 2027 or 10% off installation—removes the financing barrier. You are buying the last roof you will install on your home.
Can an energy-efficiency metal roof reduce cooling costs in a New England home?
Yes, in summer months. Wauregan receives about 3066 sunshine hours annually; energy-efficient Interlock colors reflect solar heat rather than absorbing it like asphalt. Thermal emissivity reaches 0.84 and initial solar reflectance up to 0.55 (Aged Copper Penny), meaning less heat enters your attic. The Cool Roof Rating Council certification quantifies this advantage: summer cooling loads drop measurably, though winter heating dominates your annual energy bill in Connecticut. The real energy benefit in Wauregan is durability—your reflective coating is warranted 30 years without degradation, so the efficiency persists. Combined with the roof's longevity, you avoid the energy penalty of aging, deteriorating asphalt and multiple replacement cycles.
