> We had the pleasure of meeting Jonathan Brown at the Mohegan Sun Home Show and couldn’t pass up the opportunity to tell him how happy we are with our Interlock roof of ~20 years. We constantly receive compliments from people passing by on how beautiful it looks. Most of all, we appreciate the peace of mind it gives us—knowing we’ll never have to replace our roof, thanks to the lifetime warranty and guaranteed protection against leaks.

Review: November 15, 2024 Completion: November 19, 2024

It was a pleasure working with Interlock from beginning to end. The back office was good about setting expectations for job start and duration, delivery of materials (which happened on time) and work to be performed. They were also good about making adjustments to work with trim that needed to be replaced, etc. The crew that did the install and cleanup was very professional and hard working. I am extremely satisfied with the end result and would definitely recommend Interlock! This is actually my second roof, I had one installed on a different property 20 years ago and it has held the test of time with virtually no maintenance.

Salesman was very courteous and polite. Straight forward no hype or fluff. Company kept constant contact, took care of the required building permits. Had the dumpster and materials delivered on time and removed quickly. The crew was phenomenal, polite courteous. Explained everything, and was very conscientious about their work. If the the nail didn't go in the way he liked he pulled it and did it right. Nailing was all done by hand. Roof has been great since no issues and still looks great. Over all very pleased and well worth the money.

Couldn’t have chosen a better product, it’s been 2 years since installation and have absolutely no issues. The house is cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. Speaking of winter it’s only a matter of hours after a snow storm that all the snow slides right off, no more ice dams and ice filled gutters. The installers were awesome had the entire roof done in a day and a half and cleaned up prior to leaving. We love our Interlock roof.

This letter has been a long time in coming. My husband and I had an Interlock Roof installed in November 2009 and have been meaning to tell you how pleased we are with the look of the new roof and the service provided by the installers ~ Nazaar and Vitality. We’ve gotten many questions and compliments from friends, neighbors and passersby. Both our home and detached garage needed to be re-roofed, with both requiring removal of the old roofing material and the installation of plywood before applying the Interlock product. We were originally told that it would take up to 2 weeks for the job to be completed. To our amazement, the job was completed within a week’s time and that included inclement weather! Nazaar and Vitaliy put in very long days, were very polite, honored their commitments and ALWAYS cleaned everything up before they left for the day. We have children and a dog and found not one nail in the yard after the job was completed. Based on this experience and a product that speaks for itself, we would definitely recommend an Interlock Roof!

I wish to thank " target="\_blank" rel="noopener">Interlock Industries, Inc. for a great roofing system. I'm 100% satisfied and it has a clean and beautiful look. It's great! It's wonderful to know the roof never need replacement again. I also wish to thank Bob Allen, Jerry and Paul McAllister for being so helpful in completing the work. I know this " target="\_blank" rel="noopener">roof system was right when we met Bob Allen the first time, he explained everything in detail. Everything he said was correct. The men who did the work were polite and respectiful, and were clean and neat in the work process. Thank you guys. I would recommend an Interlock Roof for every home, or any building and the long term ">cost is less than another roof system.

Sorry I didn’t get this to you sooner, but I just wanted to drop you a line on the excellent installation of my roof by Nazar and Sergei. They installed our roof in February and never let the harsh weather affect their attention to detail and their determination to do quality work. I was very fortunate to get these two Ukrainian gentlemen as my installers.

Review: August 25, 2007 Completion: April 27, 2007

I am writing to tell you how much my wife and I are satisfied with our new roof from Interlock Roofing. Our old asphalt shingles were showing the effects of time both aesthetically and functionally. Most noticeably was the water mark on the living room ceiling that just kept growing with each passing rain. We certainly weren't looking forward to buying a new roof, since we were still paying for our wedding six months before, but knew we had to do something soon. I mentioned to Dawn that I had heard metal roofs were becoming popular because of how long they last; but she was concerned our home would look like a fast food restaurant, a factory, or even worse a tin roof barn. She made it clear that a modern looking metal roof would ruin the look of our 1860s vintage home. I said I thought I had seen a couple of years ago a house that was done with what I thought the sign said was metal but looked like shingles instead of ridged sheets she pictured. The problem was I couldn't remember the name of the roofer – just that they had an orange sign. A friend of our mentioned there was a Home Show coming up in Worchester and we figured it would be fun to look around and dream about improvements we could make. As we walked the aisles, I saw your familiar orange sign and product display booth. I said to Dawn look at this! This looks really nice – it looks just like " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">slate! Wouldn't that look really great on our house! Two weeks later, you explained what made Interlock Roofing different from other materials and the lifetime " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">warranty helped us feel confident in making what was for us a major purchase decision. Although an Interlock roof might cost more initially, we think it is well worth it knowing we will never have to buy another roof for this home again. Your company and crews are great! A representative called to let us know materials were being delivered and when they arrived they were neatly stored out of the way until the work began. A supervisor called to let us know when the work would begin, and except for two days of rain which delayed their start, the job was completed within the estimated three days. At the end of each day, they cleaned up after themselves and when the job was competed they raked up any pieces that may have been missed in the grass. The completed roof looks great and enhances the appearance of our home. We have had many people stop and compliment us on it and at least one had already installed an Interlock roof of their own. Should we ever move from this home in the future, one of the features we will look for is an Interlock roof or plan on upgrading to one in our new home as well.

Review: June 2, 2006 Completion: July 25, 2005

Just wanted to let you know that we are very satisfied with the aluminum interlocking roof which was installed in July of 2005. It was amazing to us how quickly and efficiently your men worked in removing our old asphalt layers of roof and installing the new one. Needless to say, we were very impressed with their work as well as our new roof! Unfortunately, during installation of the roof, damage was done to the interior ceiling of our dining room. Interlock did respond and the damaged area was repaired in a timely manner. Unfortunately our existing ceilings are plaster and the repaired area was done in wallboard which simply do not match. In order for this to be repaired properly, the entire ceiling has to be repainted with a light texture. Whatever you can do to help rectify the pending repair to the interior ceiling would be greatly appreciated. We look forward to speaking with you in the near future. Once again, thank you for offering us the opportunity to upgrade our home with an outstanding roof.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Pomfret

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Pomfret, Connecticut. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Pomfret.

Will a metal roof hold up through Connecticut winters with all the freeze-thaw cycles?

Yes — aluminum's strength actually improves in cold cycles. Pomfret sees about 90 freeze-thaw days per year, and that's where aluminum shines: the material doesn't absorb moisture, so it can't expand, contract, crack, or split the way asphalt shingles and wood do. The 3105-H24 aluminum alloy we use meets ASTM B209 standards and maintains structural integrity through thousands of thermal swings. Your roof stays watertight and sound through every winter.

How does metal roofing handle the snow load in Pomfret?

Interlock's profiles shed snow efficiently because the smooth, interlocking panels offer no debris pockets where ice dams form. Pomfret averages about 90 cm of snow annually — substantial, but the standing seam and slate profiles are designed with gentle slopes that manage melt without pooling. The roof's extraordinary light weight (slate profile installs at 0.41 lb per square foot) means no structural reinforcement is needed, even under deep accumulation. Snow guards are available if you want to control slide-off patterns.

Does heavy rain leak through the seams on a metal roof?

No — the four-way interlocking panels create a rain-tight seal by design, not by relying on sealant. The overlapping edges guide water downslope, and Pomfret's annual rainfall of about 1,098 mm is managed by the panel geometry itself. Installation over solid decking with underlayment (standard practice) provides a secondary moisture barrier. Because the panels don't absorb water and aluminum doesn't rust or rot, even if water reaches the substrate, it can't compromise the material. Properly installed, these roofs leak nowhere.

Will metal roofing blow off in Pomfret's wind gusts?

The warranty covers resistance up to 120 mph, and Pomfret's typical wind gusts reach about 121 km/h (roughly 75 mph), well within that range. The four-way interlocking panels lock to each other, not just to fasteners, so wind has to lift the entire roof skin simultaneously — it can't peel panels one by one like it can asphalt shingles. Installation to spec includes proper fastening intervals tested under UL 2218 protocols. You get wind security that outlasts the fasteners themselves.

Can metal roofing survive hailstones, and will my insurance company notice?

Interlock carries a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating — the highest available — and the warranty covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. That rating also means insurance underwriters recognize the durability: many carriers offer premium discounts for impact-resistant roofing. Class 4 rating is rare; most asphalt shingles test at Class 1 or 2. Some insurers specifically ask whether your roof is UL 2218 certified, and when you can answer yes, that can lower your annual premium measurably.

Why won't aluminum rust like steel metal roofs do?

Aluminum contains no iron, so rust — which is oxidized iron — cannot occur. When aluminum is scratched, it develops a microscopic oxide layer that is self-healing and impermeable. The Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish on both sides (top and underside) adds another 30-year-warranted protective layer against chalking and fading per ASTM D4214. In Pomfret's humid climate with freeze-thaw and rain, this matters: your roof won't degrade the way steel would. The material simply cannot corrode into failure.

Do I need to reinforce my roof structure for metal roofing?

No — aluminum's light weight eliminates that cost. The tile profile, which mimics the visual weight of clay or concrete, weighs only 0.59 lb per square foot — about 96% lighter than real tile. Most homes' existing roof structures can support Interlock without any modifications, which means installation can happen over your current roof if it's sound. That saves thousands in structural work, makes installation faster, and keeps the project contained to the roofing itself. The material strength comes from the alloy, not mass.

How much maintenance does a metal roof really need?

Metal roofing requires virtually no maintenance compared to asphalt or wood shingles. You won't replace shingles blown off in wind, clear moss and algae in Pomfret's 2,999 annual sunshine hours, or repair wood rot and splits in freeze-thaw cycling. Occasional gutter cleaning is recommended (same as any roof). The Guardian lifetime limited warranty covers defects in material and workmanship — not ordinary wear — and that transfer to the next owner remains valid for 50 years from completion. Asphalt shingles demand attention every few years; this roof demands almost none.

Will a metal roof reduce cooling costs in summer?

Yes — energy-efficient Interlock colors achieve solar reflectance up to 0.55 and thermal emissivity of 0.84, which means they reflect heat that asphalt absorbs and re-radiates into your home. Pomfret averages about 2,999 sunshine hours yearly, so even in temperate New England, reflectance matters. Cool Roof Rating Council data shows the difference measurably. Metal doesn't store heat the way dark asphalt does. Over a 50-year roof life, the cooling savings are genuine, and combined with the lifetime warranty, your total cost of ownership drops significantly compared to shingles you'll replace three times.

Is metal roofing worth the cost compared to asphalt shingles?

Metal roofing costs more upfront but is the last roof you'll install. Asphalt shingles need replacement every 15–25 years; Interlock carries a lifetime limited, non-prorated warranty for the original owner, transferable 50 years to the next. Over 50 years, you're buying asphalt shingles twice or three times versus one metal roof. Add the energy savings (reflection, not absorption), zero maintenance, impact durability (Class 4 hail rating, 120 mph wind warranty), and the likelihood of insurance discounts, and the lifecycle cost favors metal decisively. Current financing — no payments and no interest until Spring 2027 — removes the upfront barrier.
