> We had the pleasure of meeting Jonathan Brown at the Mohegan Sun Home Show and couldn’t pass up the opportunity to tell him how happy we are with our Interlock roof of ~20 years. We constantly receive compliments from people passing by on how beautiful it looks. Most of all, we appreciate the peace of mind it gives us—knowing we’ll never have to replace our roof, thanks to the lifetime warranty and guaranteed protection against leaks.

Review: November 15, 2024 Completion: November 19, 2024

It was a pleasure working with Interlock from beginning to end. The back office was good about setting expectations for job start and duration, delivery of materials (which happened on time) and work to be performed. They were also good about making adjustments to work with trim that needed to be replaced, etc. The crew that did the install and cleanup was very professional and hard working. I am extremely satisfied with the end result and would definitely recommend Interlock! This is actually my second roof, I had one installed on a different property 20 years ago and it has held the test of time with virtually no maintenance.

Salesman was very courteous and polite. Straight forward no hype or fluff. Company kept constant contact, took care of the required building permits. Had the dumpster and materials delivered on time and removed quickly. The crew was phenomenal, polite courteous. Explained everything, and was very conscientious about their work. If the the nail didn't go in the way he liked he pulled it and did it right. Nailing was all done by hand. Roof has been great since no issues and still looks great. Over all very pleased and well worth the money.

Couldn’t have chosen a better product, it’s been 2 years since installation and have absolutely no issues. The house is cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. Speaking of winter it’s only a matter of hours after a snow storm that all the snow slides right off, no more ice dams and ice filled gutters. The installers were awesome had the entire roof done in a day and a half and cleaned up prior to leaving. We love our Interlock roof.

This letter has been a long time in coming. My husband and I had an Interlock Roof installed in November 2009 and have been meaning to tell you how pleased we are with the look of the new roof and the service provided by the installers ~ Nazaar and Vitality. We’ve gotten many questions and compliments from friends, neighbors and passersby. Both our home and detached garage needed to be re-roofed, with both requiring removal of the old roofing material and the installation of plywood before applying the Interlock product. We were originally told that it would take up to 2 weeks for the job to be completed. To our amazement, the job was completed within a week’s time and that included inclement weather! Nazaar and Vitaliy put in very long days, were very polite, honored their commitments and ALWAYS cleaned everything up before they left for the day. We have children and a dog and found not one nail in the yard after the job was completed. Based on this experience and a product that speaks for itself, we would definitely recommend an Interlock Roof!

I wish to thank " target="\_blank" rel="noopener">Interlock Industries, Inc. for a great roofing system. I'm 100% satisfied and it has a clean and beautiful look. It's great! It's wonderful to know the roof never need replacement again. I also wish to thank Bob Allen, Jerry and Paul McAllister for being so helpful in completing the work. I know this " target="\_blank" rel="noopener">roof system was right when we met Bob Allen the first time, he explained everything in detail. Everything he said was correct. The men who did the work were polite and respectiful, and were clean and neat in the work process. Thank you guys. I would recommend an Interlock Roof for every home, or any building and the long term ">cost is less than another roof system.

Sorry I didn’t get this to you sooner, but I just wanted to drop you a line on the excellent installation of my roof by Nazar and Sergei. They installed our roof in February and never let the harsh weather affect their attention to detail and their determination to do quality work. I was very fortunate to get these two Ukrainian gentlemen as my installers.

Review: August 25, 2007 Completion: April 27, 2007

I am writing to tell you how much my wife and I are satisfied with our new roof from Interlock Roofing. Our old asphalt shingles were showing the effects of time both aesthetically and functionally. Most noticeably was the water mark on the living room ceiling that just kept growing with each passing rain. We certainly weren't looking forward to buying a new roof, since we were still paying for our wedding six months before, but knew we had to do something soon. I mentioned to Dawn that I had heard metal roofs were becoming popular because of how long they last; but she was concerned our home would look like a fast food restaurant, a factory, or even worse a tin roof barn. She made it clear that a modern looking metal roof would ruin the look of our 1860s vintage home. I said I thought I had seen a couple of years ago a house that was done with what I thought the sign said was metal but looked like shingles instead of ridged sheets she pictured. The problem was I couldn't remember the name of the roofer – just that they had an orange sign. A friend of our mentioned there was a Home Show coming up in Worchester and we figured it would be fun to look around and dream about improvements we could make. As we walked the aisles, I saw your familiar orange sign and product display booth. I said to Dawn look at this! This looks really nice – it looks just like " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">slate! Wouldn't that look really great on our house! Two weeks later, you explained what made Interlock Roofing different from other materials and the lifetime " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">warranty helped us feel confident in making what was for us a major purchase decision. Although an Interlock roof might cost more initially, we think it is well worth it knowing we will never have to buy another roof for this home again. Your company and crews are great! A representative called to let us know materials were being delivered and when they arrived they were neatly stored out of the way until the work began. A supervisor called to let us know when the work would begin, and except for two days of rain which delayed their start, the job was completed within the estimated three days. At the end of each day, they cleaned up after themselves and when the job was competed they raked up any pieces that may have been missed in the grass. The completed roof looks great and enhances the appearance of our home. We have had many people stop and compliment us on it and at least one had already installed an Interlock roof of their own. Should we ever move from this home in the future, one of the features we will look for is an Interlock roof or plan on upgrading to one in our new home as well.

Review: June 2, 2006 Completion: July 25, 2005

Just wanted to let you know that we are very satisfied with the aluminum interlocking roof which was installed in July of 2005. It was amazing to us how quickly and efficiently your men worked in removing our old asphalt layers of roof and installing the new one. Needless to say, we were very impressed with their work as well as our new roof! Unfortunately, during installation of the roof, damage was done to the interior ceiling of our dining room. Interlock did respond and the damaged area was repaired in a timely manner. Unfortunately our existing ceilings are plaster and the repaired area was done in wallboard which simply do not match. In order for this to be repaired properly, the entire ceiling has to be repainted with a light texture. Whatever you can do to help rectify the pending repair to the interior ceiling would be greatly appreciated. We look forward to speaking with you in the near future. Once again, thank you for offering us the opportunity to upgrade our home with an outstanding roof.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Woodstock Valley

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Woodstock Valley, Connecticut. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Woodstock Valley.

How does a metal roof handle Woodstock Valley's heavy snow and freeze-thaw cycles?

Aluminum's smooth, interlocking surface sheds snow efficiently, and the 0.41 to 0.59 lb/sq ft weight means no structural strain even under Windham County's typical 90 cm annual snowfall. More importantly, Woodstock Valley experiences roughly 90 freeze-thaw days per year—the exact condition that splits asphalt shingles and causes wood rot. Aluminum's oxide layer doesn't absorb moisture, so it won't degrade through repeated freezing. Four-way interlocking seams prevent water infiltration during melt cycles, keeping your home protected through seasons that destroy conventional roofing.

Why won't an aluminum roof rust in Connecticut's wet climate?

Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron—the element that oxidizes and deteriorates. Instead, aluminum forms a self-healing oxide layer that repairs itself when scratched, making it ideal for regions receiving about 1098 mm of rain annually. The roofing-grade 3105-H24 and 3003-H24 aluminum alloy (ASTM B209) is paired with a Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon coating applied to both sides, warranted 30 years against chalking and fading. This two-layer protection system was field-proven from coastal salt-air homes to Antarctic research stations—environments far harsher than Woodstock Valley's moisture exposure.

Can an aluminum metal roof withstand Woodstock Valley's wind gusts?

Yes. Windham County experiences typical gusts around 121 km/h, and Interlock's four-way interlocking aluminum panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h)—exceeding your region's documented extremes with a safety margin. The interlocking design creates redundant fastening paths; even if one edge lifts slightly, the neighboring panel holds it secure. UL 2218 Class 4 impact certification confirms structural integrity under extreme stress. For homeowners on exposed hilltops or near tree lines, this engineered resistance—backed by a transferable 50-year warranty—delivers measurable peace of mind during nor'easters.

Does a metal roof in Connecticut qualify for hail damage coverage or insurance discounts?

Interlock aluminum roofing carries UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the Guardian Warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Many insurers recognize this non-combustible, Class A fire-rated aluminum as lower-risk than asphalt shingles, often resulting in premium discounts. While Connecticut doesn't experience the hail frequency of plains states, severe thunderstorms do occur, and having documented impact resistance (UL 2218 Class 4) strengthens insurance claims. Check with your carrier: some explicitly reward metal roofing with measurable reductions, offsetting installation costs over just a few years.

How does repeated freezing and thawing affect aluminum roofing?

Freeze-thaw cycles—occurring about 90 times per year in Woodstock Valley—are devastating to asphalt, wood shingles, and concrete tile, but aluminum thrives. The material is inert: it doesn't absorb water, expand, contract, or crack like wood or absorb moisture like asphalt. The self-healing oxide layer maintains integrity regardless of temperature swings between below 0°C winters and warmer thaw periods. Four-way interlocking seams remain tight because aluminum's thermal expansion coefficient is linear and predictable, not the chaotic warping seen in composite materials. This is why the Guardian Warranty covers cracking and splitting—Interlock has never seen it happen after 26 years of manufacturing.

Is a metal roof worth the upfront cost compared to asphalt shingles over time?

Initial cost is higher, but lifetime value flips the equation. Asphalt typically lasts 15–20 years, requiring two or three replacements over 50 years; each replacement means tear-off labor, landfill fees, and disruption. Interlock's non-prorated lifetime limited warranty for the original owner—transferable 50 years to the next owner—means one installation covers most homeowners' entire tenure. Add zero maintenance (no algae treatment, no seasonal repairs), no hail deductibles under UL 2218 Class 4, and potential insurance discounts, and the premium pays for itself by year 20. Current promotion: no payments and no interest until Spring 2027 or 10% off installation. That's immediate cost relief on a 50-year asset.

How much maintenance does a metal roof actually require?

None of the routine upkeep asphalt and wood demand. There's no algae growth to power-wash, no missing shingles to replace after nor'easters, no moss to treat. Interlock's aluminum surface doesn't rot, crack, or curl—the three leading asphalt failures in Windham County's 1098 mm annual rainfall and 90 freeze-thaw cycles. The 30-year Alunar coating resists fading and chalking (ASTM D4214/D2244 tested), so color stays true through 3000+ sunshine hours per year. Twice-decade inspection of gutters and flashing is standard for any roof, but the metal panels themselves require zero intervention. CALGreen verification confirms reduced maintenance burden, making Interlock genuinely low-touch.

Can my house handle a metal roof, or do I need to reinforce the structure?

No reinforcement needed. Interlock's Slate installs at just 0.41 lb/sq ft, Shake at 0.58, and Mediterranean Tile at 0.59 lb/sq ft—about 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile. Most homes can accept this load over existing framing without modification. Even better, Interlock installs directly over your current roof (asphalt, wood, or slate), eliminating expensive tear-off labor and waste. A structural engineer's letter (inexpensive, often required by your bank) confirms compatibility for your specific house. The lightweight design also means faster installation and no equipment rental for temporary bracing—savings that accumulate fast.

Who installs Interlock metal roofing in Woodstock Valley, and what's their experience?

Interlock Metal Roofing (New England) Inc. has served the Connecticut region since 1999—26 years of installs across Windham County's variable weather. They understand the 90 cm snow loads, 121 km/h gusts, and 90 annual freeze-thaw cycles that define this area's roofing demands. The company is factory-trained on all five profiles—Slate, Cedar Shingle, Shake, Standing Seam, and Mediterranean Tile—and follows ICC-ES ESR-1790 installation specs (IBC/IRC, reissued 2025). Current promotion: no payments and no interest until Spring 2027 or 10% off installation. Call for a consultation to see samples and confirm your home's profile and timeline.

Is metal roofing actually more environmentally responsible than asphalt shingles?

Yes, measurably. Interlock aluminum is roughly 95% recyclable at end of life, with scrap value ensuring reclamation rather than landfill disposal. Asphalt shingles—billions per year in the US—are non-recyclable and poisoned with adhesives and granules, creating permanent landfill burden. A typical 2000 sq ft asphalt roof generates 5–10 tons of waste per replacement; multiplied over Woodstock Valley's thousands of homes, that's environmental drag you avoid once. Interlock's 50-year lifespan means one installation per homeowner lifetime, eliminating repeated tear-off cycles. No maintenance chemicals required. The material's manufacture since 1998 in Delta, BC reflects proven, streamlined processes with lower embodied carbon per installed square foot than asphalt.
