What our customers are saying:
I just had a brand new Dark Grey Metal Roof by INTERLOCK installed. I found everyone that I dealt with from Jonathan Brown in sales and Jennifer Simons in the office and to the crew that did an excellent job ( they were very hard workers)! I am pleased with the outcome of the roof. It looks wonderful, I would highly recommend interlock to anyone who Is looking for a quality roof and excellent and professional installation.
We recently had your Interlock Roofing System installed on our home. It has now been about 3 months since the roof was installed. We receive many compliments on how beautiful the roof looks. Your installers were polite, fast, cleaned up the area daily and did a full clean up after the job was completed. My wife and I discussed installing a metal roofing system because of the many advantages of a metal roofing system. We did not want a system like the ones everyone sees on old barns, (straight panels). We were looking for an attractive looking system that would add curb appeal to our home. We decided to go to one of the local home shows to see what types of roofing systems were available. That's when we found your company. I had seen various style metal roofs on home TV shows, but none of them matched the interlocking panel system like yours. The shingles not only interlock with each other but they are also nailed into the roof deck for a good solid roofing system. I work at a local College as the Manager of Building Services. I am responsible for maintenance of many difference types of buildings and roofs. I have seen the amount of damage caused by water, snow, ice and wind. So when deciding what type of roof we should install on the largest investment anyone purchases in their lifetime (a house), we decided to invest in a metal roof which we will never have to worry about again. The advantages of the metal roof are easy to understand and see. Interlock roof system will keep your home cooler during summer months, warmer during winter month, eliminates " title="ice dams" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">ice dams, keeps your heating and cooling costs down and looks great year round. While keeping your house safe from water, ice, snow and wind damages. The most often asked question since we had this roof installed was, Isn't it noisy when it rains? I want to tell you, that we have had many heavy down pours and you can not hear the rain, even during the hardest rainstorms. It is not any louder than any other roofing system. Our off white house has blue awnings and blue shutters so when my wife saw the blue color offered in your brochure, she fell in love with it and decided it would match our house nicely, and she was right. My niece came over to see the new roof and said the house looks like it's brand new, our house was built in 1954. We have people drive by the house and they literally stop to admire how great the house looks. When we're out in the yard people blow their horn and yell "the roof looks great". Purchasing a metal roof is more expensive but you'll never spend another penny on your roof again. You'll never have to listen to people pounding nails while you're trying to relax after you returning home from work. You won't have to worry about coming up with the expensive cost of replacing a roof on your home after you retire. All of these reasons are just part of why we invested in installing the roofing system that will be still on our home after we are gone. Not to mention it has a full replacement " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">warranty transferable to the next owner should you ever decide to sell your house. We believe it adds curb appeal to your home, saves you money on utilities, increases the value of your house and you will never have to replace it for as long as you live. If you look at the cost to install a conventional asphalt shingled roof, which you will probably have to invest in twice in your lifetime, coupled up with the cost of disposal for stripping your old roofing system. I believe you will find it will cost about the same monies in the long run and you will not be inconvenienced by construction noise while your roof is being replaced again for second or third time. I believe this is the best investment we have made next to the purchase of our house. This message is for anyone who is considering investing in a metal roof. Spend the little extra on the roof that will protect your most costly investment you will ever make and never have to worry about it again. How can you possibly consider any other roofing system?
I've had an Interlock metal roof on my house and garden shed for two years now. It's absolutely gorgeous. Everyone thinks it's a slate roof! I've had no problems with it. The installation was amazing! A crew of 11 showed up early in the morning and were almost completely done in one day on both buildings. They were so professional. I highly recommend Interlock for both their high quality product and their great people.
Just a note about the roof we installed in March of 2003. The first thing that we have to say is that the roof looks wonderful; it’s the best one on the street. A neighbor two houses down the street had a new asphalt roof installed shortly after we had our Interlock Roof installed. The neighbor across the street remarked that our roof looked a lot better than the neighbor's. We have had quite a few neighbors stop and ask about the roof and remark how good it looks. Having the chimney flashed with a solid flashing (instead of step flashing) and the ducts matching the roof really makes the roof look finished off. Also, having them put vents on the back which match the roof looks finished off, so they are not noticeable. As far as the workmen and the quality of workmanship, we feel that it was done very professionally. We asked that they not start working until 8:00 am, and they waited until 8:30 am to start. They kept the grounds very clean even when they were stripping the roof. They hung tarps so nothing could or would damage either the house or any plants which are around the house. They were very friendly and courteous. In closing, we are very pleased with the roof and the professionalism of the workers.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Village Hill
The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Village Hill, Massachusetts. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Village Hill.
How does a metal roof handle Village Hill's heavy snow and ice buildup?
Metal roofing sheds snow and ice far better than asphalt because its smooth, interlocking aluminum surface prevents the adhesion that causes ice dams. Village Hill receives about 84 cm of snow annually, and with roughly 76 freeze-thaw cycles per year, ice dam prevention is critical — they can trap water and cause leaks. Interlock's four-way interlocking panels and lightweight design (the Shake profile weighs just 0.58 lb/sq ft) mean snow slides cleanly without structural strain. Optional snow guards let you control shedding onto walkways. The aluminum oxide layer resists freeze-thaw damage that degrades asphalt and wood over time.
Will freeze-thaw cycles in Massachusetts damage my aluminum metal roof?
No — aluminum actually thrives through freeze-thaw because it has no iron content and cannot rust or rot, the two failure modes that destroy asphalt and wood in freeze-thaw climates. Village Hill experiences about 76 freeze-thaw days yearly, which cracks and curls asphalt shingles and splits wood shake. Aluminum expands and contracts without absorbing moisture, so it avoids the internal damage that weakens other materials. The Alunar 70% PVDF coating (warranted 30 years against chalking) adds a secondary defense. The lightweight design also prevents ice and snow loads from stressing fasteners — a key failure point in freeze-thaw zones.
Can a metal roof withstand the wind gusts that hit Village Hill?
Yes. Interlock metal roofing is warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph, and Village Hill's typical gusts reach about 130 km/h (roughly 80 mph), so you're well covered. The four-way interlocking panels lock each sheet to its neighbors on all sides, distributing wind load across the entire roof rather than concentrating stress on fasteners — the weak point in conventional roofing. This design is what earned the product an ICC-ES evaluation report (ESR-1790) for both the International Building Code and IRC. Interlock has installed roofs on exposed coastal properties and Antarctic research stations where wind is unforgiving; the interlocking system is battlefield-tested.
Does heavy rain cause leaks in metal roofing, and how does Interlock prevent them?
Heavy rainfall (Village Hill averages about 1065 mm per year) requires a watertight roof, and Interlock's interlocking panel design is engineered for this. Each panel overlaps and locks into the next on four sides, creating a shedding surface with multiple layers of redundancy — water runs downslope and cannot be driven backward into seams by wind-driven rain. The aluminum alloy (3105-H24 / 3003-H24 to ASTM B209 spec) is non-porous; it doesn't swell, absorb moisture, or degrade like wood or asphalt. Installation over an existing roof preserves your current leak barriers, and the lightweight profile (Slate is just 0.41 lb/sq ft) means the existing deck typically needs no reinforcement.
If hail damages my roof, will insurance cover it, and can an aluminum roof withstand hail?
Interlock metal roofing carries a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating — the highest available — and the Guardian Warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. This resilience often qualifies for insurance discounts because hail claims are rare and expensive for insurers. Aluminum's inherent strength (it contains no brittle materials like slate or clay) combined with the four-way interlocking design distributes impact force across the panel network. Many insurance carriers recognize this and offer rate reductions; check with your agent. The 30-year coating warranty ensures the finish resists any cosmetic damage from smaller hail.
Why can't aluminum rust, and does that matter for Village Hill homes?
Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron — rust is iron oxide, a chemical that only forms on ferrous metals. Instead, aluminum develops a thin, invisible oxide layer that actually protects the metal beneath and self-heals when scratched. This matters in Massachusetts because many homes rely on steel gutters, flashing, or older steel roofs that rust within 20–30 years, especially in humid climates. Village Hill receives about 1065 mm of rain annually, creating ideal rusting conditions for steel. Interlock uses roofing-grade 3105-H24 / 3003-H24 aluminum (ASTM B209 certified), so rust is not a risk — you're free from the repainting and replacement cycles that plague steel and iron roofing.
Is a metal roof worth the upfront cost compared to asphalt shingles?
A metal roof is cheaper over the life of your home because it lasts decades longer than asphalt, eliminating multiple tear-offs and replacements. Asphalt typically lasts 15–20 years in cold, snowy climates like Village Hill (where freeze-thaw cycles, 84 cm of snow, and 1065 mm of rain all accelerate deterioration). Interlock comes with a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner and is transferable to the next owner for 50 years — your roof outlasts your mortgage and adds value at resale. Current financing offers (no payments, no interest until Spring 2027, or 10% off installation) make the upfront cost manageable. Aluminum's light weight also eliminates structural reinforcement costs that slate or tile demand.
Do I need to reinforce my roof framing for a metal roof?
No — that's one of aluminum's greatest advantages. Interlock's Mediterranean Tile profile weighs about 0.59 lb/sq ft, making it roughly 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile, so no structural reinforcement is required. Most homes can install Interlock directly over their existing asphalt roof without framing upgrades. In contrast, real tile can weigh 12–15 lb/sq ft and demands expensive structural engineering before installation. Village Hill homes, especially older Colonials and farmhouses with modest roof trusses, benefit enormously from this lightweight design. The four-way interlocking system also distributes wind and snow loads more evenly than heavy materials, reducing peak stress on any single fastener or beam.
What's the warranty on a metal roof, and how long will it actually last?
Interlock offers a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner — it covers rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. This warranty is transferable, giving the next owner 50 years from completion. In practice, the aluminum core lasts 50+ years because it cannot rust or rot, and the Alunar 70% PVDF coating is warranted 30 years against chalking and fading (ASTM D4214 / D2244 measured). Installed in 1998 in Delta, BC, early Interlock roofs are still standing. For Village Hill's climate — with 76 annual freeze-thaw cycles and heavy snow — metal roofing is simply more durable than asphalt (15–20 years) or wood (20–30 years).
How much maintenance does a metal roof need compared to asphalt or wood?
Metal requires almost no maintenance. Asphalt needs regular inspections and patching as freeze-thaw cycles crack shingles; wood shake demands annual cleaning, fungicide treatment, and frequent repairs from rot and splitting (Village Hill's 1065 mm annual rainfall and 76 freeze-thaw days accelerate these failures). Interlock aluminum sheds debris, resists moss and algae, and the four-way interlocking seams don't trap leaves or allow water penetration. You'll clean gutters and trim overhanging branches, just as with any roof. The Alunar coating (70% PVDF) is CALGreen-verified for reduced maintenance. No power washing, no sealant reapplication, no seasonal repairs — the engineering handles New England's harsh winters for you.
