What our customers are saying:
From the start to finish, we loved their work and communication. There were no nails, metal bits, or excessive noise. They listened to all questions and addressed our concerns. They were careful to make no promise of a start date that they could not fulfill. The rain this year made it hard to predict! I would do a commercial for them free to endorse their work and product!
Hi Peter, we wanted to convey to you how much we love our new Interlock roof! Several of our neighbors and friends have said they do, too! We love the look of it, and are so impressed with how beautifully finished it is integrated into the flashing materials. The Interlock scheduling staff was great to work with, and we are so happy with Jessie and his Interlock installation team. They are true craftsmen, and part artists! We loved how they treated our home with respect, and were always willing to address any questions we had. We watched as they worked on items until they had them just right; when we asked about some areas of concern multiple members of the installation team converged on the item and came down to explain and even illustrate with photographs how it was addressed. Again, we couldn't be happier and are enjoying our Interlock roof!
To: Peter Brylinke My Interlock Shake style system was installed in June of 2019. We have now had it for an entire year and experienced the roof through all season, climate and weather conditions. Not only do we value the new look of our roof but the performance of the new roof has been exceptional. In the winter we have seen the snow pile up on it only to slide off as soon as the sun warms it enough. We have noticed a difference in the summers also with a cooler house. The roof has met all of our expectations and we are extremely happy with our decision to install this roof. Last summer when the workers were working on the roof, we were so pleased with the time and effort the workmen put into making sure all aspects of our roof were taken care of. They were courteous, hard working, respectful and considerate of our needs as homeowners. Carlos was instrumental in making sure that we were happy with every aspect of the work that was being done. In closing, we are very impressed with our roof and have recommended this same system to many people we know and many people who just " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">walk by and ask about it. We feel that we have made a great decision in putting this system on our home. ">" alt="Minneapolis MN 55409 Interlock Roof" width="2560" height="1920" />
Dear Peter, Thank you for your help with the installation and warranty transfer of our interlock roof. We have since sold our house and had good feedback about our roof from potential buyers. Neighbors loved our new roof and we had people drive by and actually snap pictures of it! You were right that the new roof would help sell our home! Thanks for all your help!
Dear Peter, I had Interlock Roofing install my black slate roof in the fall one year ago, and I couldn’t be happier! My roof still looks like new, and really stands out in my neighborhood. My old asphalt shingle roof was leaking. I had to shovel it every time it snowed because of " title="ice dams" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">ice dams in my older 1950’s house. I have had no issues at all with my new Interlock roof. It was so nice only to have to shovel my driveway this winter and not worry about snow on the roof. It all just slid off in only a few days after each snowfall. Also, the team that you had out to install my roof was exceptional. I was very impressed with the quality of the team that installed my roof. They were all very polite and worked well together as a team. They worked very hard, and got the job done, and completed in less than three days. I’ve never had to have anyone come back to fix or touch anything up. Thank you for the great job the Interlock team did to replace my roof. I would recommend Interlock to anyone needing a new roof without hesitation!
Dear Peter, We remain delighted with our new Interlock roof. It’s now been through 2 Minnesota winters, a hailstorm, and several rain deluges and is still the top-notch performer that you said it would be. Thank you for your and Interlock’s integrity throughout the sale, installation, and service of our roofing project. We remain convinced that Interlock is indeed “the Midwest’s Best Roof”.
Dear Peter, I Wanted to let you know how pleased I am with my new Interlock roof. It looks terrific, and I am anticipating that I will never have to roof rake my roof again now that your product has been installed. My house is small, a 3-bedroom rambler, but the visual impact the Interlock roof has added makes it look like a castle! All of the contact I have had with your personnel, from yourself to the lead foreman on the job and the men doing the install was pleasant and professional. The cleanup after the job was done was great and it only took 1-1/2 days for a complete tear-off to complete the installation. Please use this letter as a personal recommendation for your company and your product.
Dear Peter, Installing the Interlock roof on our home has completely transformed and improved our home’s appearance. The installation of the roof along with the greatly improved flashings have made a great difference. Because of that, our stucco was able to match our home so we look like new. An improvement I didn’t expect was the change in temperature of our second floor. Usually unbearable " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">hot on a 90-degree day. It’s now 10-15 degree cooler and livable. We also received a sizeable discount on our homeowners’ insurance because of the roof’s resistance to fire. We’re sure that having to “Never roof again” will help us sell our house should that be necessary. Thank you from two satisfied customers.
My Interlock ">Shake Style Roof in Aged Copper color was installed between December 21st and December 31st. Snow has covered most of the house and garage since it was installed, so I haven’t been able to enjoy the new look yet, but during the installation and before the snow it was obvious it I going to look great. I am glad I had them put Interlock ">Shakes on my 8ft x 16ft hip-roofed storage shed as well. There are a lot of huge oak trees close to my house and they had caused the heavy cedar hand-split shakes to deteriorate from moss growing on them. I knew I needed a roof that would not have this problem in the future. I am a retired mechanical engineer and had built the house and garage myself. I studied the specs on steel, stone coated steel and several aluminum style shakes, before finally settling on the Interlock product. I believe it will prove to be a good choice. I was very impressed with the quality and design of all the types of flashings, ridge vent, and fasteners that were expertly installed. I truly expect this roof to last and look great for generations. I was also very impressed with the crew who did the work under Juan and Carlos’ direction. They worked tirelessly in some difficult weather conditions and short daylight hours. A number of minor changes were made on the fly with gutters, snow guards and roof penetrations and they were all executed precisely. They were very careful in making sure the roofs were protected overnight, on weekends and during the Christmas holiday. They did a great job of cleaning up the difficult mess made removing the decayed shakes. I guess I won’t know for sure if there are any problems until we get some heavy rains in the spring and summer, but as of now, I would be happy to show the roof and talk to any prospective clients that are considering the Interlock product.
I love my new roof. It looks great and I know the house is in better shape without the heavy deteriorating asphalt shingles. My house is the only one on the block with no snow on the roof, and I can't wait to hear it in the rain
We are delighted with the workmanship and quality of our new roof. It has exceeded our expectations, and we highly recommend an Interlock Roof to anyone looking to replace an old roof.
Dear Interlock Roofing, We are writing to share with you our experience with you, your employees, and the new roof. We built a brand new home and moved in January 1997. Within a few years, we were experiencing shingles that were curling and being removed by the wind. By the summer of 2007, it was imperative that we re-roof our home. Fortunately, we saw an ad in the local paper for your product. Below are just a few of the benefits we appreciate with the aluminum interlocking roofing shingles: The service and attention to our roofing project by Scott Bohnen from signing the contract to follow-up after the installation. The fact that the workforce followed safety procedures by wearing safety gear (we have a steep roof). Daily attention to our project until it was completed, about one week in total. Aesthetically pleasing roof, with numerous comments by friends and neighbors and those just passing by. EXCELLENT CURB APPEAL! The roof is quieter during rain storms than with regular asphalt shingles. We often have to verify that it is raining by visually looking or going outside. The roof reflects light so that we have experienced reduced air conditioning costs in the summer. In the winter, the heating bill is reduced as well and that may be in part to the aluminum shingle along with the polypropylene lining between the old and new shingles. No matter the reason, our heating and cooling bills are reduced. The fact that the roof is aluminum and it can be recycled at the end of its life expectancy. The 50-year, one time transferable, warranty. We could go on and on but we are very pleased with our roof and thankful that we will never have to re-roof again. Thank you.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Fletcher
The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Fletcher, Minnesota. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Fletcher.
Will Minnesota's freeze-thaw cycles damage an aluminum metal roof?
No — aluminum actually thrives through freeze-thaw cycling because it expands and contracts uniformly without cracking or splitting. Fletcher experiences about 79 freeze-thaw days per year, but aluminum's non-corrosive oxide layer strengthens with temperature swings rather than weakening. Unlike asphalt shingles, which become brittle in cold, or wood shakes, which split when ice forms in grain cracks, the 3105-H24 aluminum alloy in Interlock panels maintains its integrity through thousands of thermal cycles. The four-way interlocking system also accommodates slight movement without leaks.
How does a metal roof handle Fletcher's roughly 95 cm of annual snow?
Interlock metal roofing sheds snow efficiently while managing ice dams through proper installation. The smooth, slick surface of the profiles — Slate, Cedar Shingle, Shake, Tile, or Standing Seam — naturally encourages snow and ice to slide rather than accumulate and pool. Fletcher's average snow load is manageable for the extraordinarily light aluminum panels (the Shingle profile at 0.41 lb/sq ft adds negligible weight), so your home's structure supports the roof easily. If you prefer snow retention in ice-dam-prone valleys, Interlock-compatible snow guards are available and install without puncturing or weakening the panels.
Does an aluminum metal roof stand up to Minnesota wind and ice storms?
Yes — the four-way interlocking panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph, far exceeding Fletcher's typical gusts averaging 19 km/h and extreme peaks around 94 km/h. The interlocking seams create a unified envelope that resists uplift and lateral loading, so the roof performs reliably during spring and fall weather transitions. Unlike traditional roofing, the aluminum panels don't create flutter or vibration in strong gusts; the system locks edge-to-edge and corner-to-corner, distributing wind stress across the entire roof. Installation to spec ensures clips and fasteners stay tight through seasonal wind cycles.
Can I get better insurance rates or hail coverage with a metal roof in Fletcher?
Many insurers offer discounts on metal roofing because Interlock panels carry a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating — the highest hail classification available — and are even warranted against perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Contact your agent before installation to confirm your policy's discount eligibility; some carriers reduce premiums 10–20% for Class 4 impact resistance. The comprehensive Guardian Warranty also covers impact damage, so your peace of mind extends beyond your insurance deductible. Fletcher's thunderstorm season and occasional hail risk make this durability advantage tangible.
Why won't my aluminum metal roof rust like steel does?
Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron — the element that oxidizes and corrodes. Instead, aluminum forms a thin, transparent oxide layer on its surface that actually self-heals when scratched or exposed to air, protecting the underlying metal indefinitely. Interlock panels are coated with Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon on both sides (extra protection in moisture-heavy climates), warranted 30 years against chalking and fading. Fletcher's 796 mm annual rainfall and 95 cm of snow melt create constant moisture exposure, yet aluminum roofs in far harsher salt-air and coastal climates have remained corrosion-free for 25+ years. Steel roofing, by contrast, rusts visibly within years without constant paint maintenance.
Does a reflective metal roof actually lower cooling costs in a Minnesota climate?
Yes, even in Fletcher's moderate 8°C mean temperature and about 3,128 sunshine hours per year, reflective aluminum reduces cooling load and extends air-conditioner life. energy-efficient Interlock colors achieve initial solar reflectance up to 0.55 (Aged Copper Penny) and thermal emissivity of 0.84, meaning they reflect the heat that asphalt shingles absorb and re-radiate into living spaces. During Fletcher's warm season (May through September), this reflectance creates measurable savings on cooling energy. The Cool Roof Rating Council certification confirms these ratings independently, so you're not relying on marketing claims — third-party testing proves the efficiency gain.
Will I need to reinforce my roof frame to support a metal roof?
No structural reinforcement is needed. Interlock panels are extraordinarily light — the Mediterranean Tile profile installs at approximately 0.59 lb/sq ft, making it about 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile. This means the roof adds negligible load to your home's existing framing, and Interlock actually installs directly over most existing asphalt roofs without tearing off the old layer. Fletcher builders and inspectors recognize this advantage: you avoid expensive structural upgrades, shorten installation time, and reduce debris disposal costs. The lightweight design is backed by ICC-ES evaluation ESR-1790 for code compliance.
What's the real lifespan of a metal roof, and what does the warranty actually cover?
Interlock's Guardian Warranty provides a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner — covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. The warranty transfers once to the next owner, who receives 50 years of coverage from completion, so your roof protects resale value and gives future owners confidence. Real-world performance in coastal salt air, Antarctic research stations, and 25+ years of installations confirms aluminum panels last 50–70+ years with minimal degradation. Fletcher's 79 annual freeze-thaw cycles and moderate snow load are well within the operating envelope where Interlock panels remain watertight and structurally sound.
How much upkeep does a metal roof need compared to asphalt or wood?
Interlock metal roofing requires far less maintenance than asphalt or wood. Asphalt shingles need inspection and spot repairs every 2–3 years in Minnesota's 79 freeze-thaw cycles, while wood shakes demand annual cleaning to prevent moss, mold, and splitting. Aluminum panels shed debris naturally and don't absorb moisture, so you simply rinse them during Fletcher's typical 796 mm annual rainfall and inspect flashing once per year. The Alunar 70% PVDF coating is CALGreen-verified for reduced maintenance and won't chalk, fade, or require repainting over its 30-year warranty period. No gutter clearing from roof debris, no moss treatment, no replacement of failed shingles.
What's the installation timeline for an Interlock metal roof in Fletcher?
Installation typically takes 2–5 days depending on roof size and pitch, and the crew can install directly over your existing asphalt roof, saving weeks of tear-off and disposal. Interlock's four-way interlocking system means panels click together securely with no exposed fasteners on the face, so the finish is clean and the installation is fast. Your local Interlock installer, serving the region since 2001, coordinates with your schedule and manages inspections. The lightweight panels (Shingle profile at 0.41 lb/sq ft) reduce labor intensity compared to slate or tile, so you're back to normal roof activity faster. Minimal disruption, no structural work, straightforward timeline.
