What our customers are saying:
The sales presentation was hard sell, and was a bit of a turn off for me.
Peter was very professional and know legible. Also pleasant to talk to!
From the start to finish, we loved their work and communication. There were no nails, metal bits, or excessive noise. They listened to all questions and addressed our concerns. They were careful to make no promise of a start date that they could not fulfill. The rain this year made it hard to predict! I would do a commercial for them free to endorse their work and product!
Damages to property: broken outside light, damaged screens, scuffed air conditionerGutters trashed-not reattached-downspouts left danglingLeft without telling me they were finished a bit rough on the house, communication could improve in areas, but the roof looks good on the house
I am very happy that you have been persistent with the survey. I have been really busy but I have been wanting to do this survey so thank you.
Crystal clear communication between sales-customer-project mgr on all components.
I would like to hear from someone at the main place to see if I can get it delivered so I can put it in myself.
Scheduling - Crew showed up without notification. Professionalism - Job was sold prior to arrival. Sales call lasted 45 min and could have been 15. Need to recognize when to close the picture books and close the deal. Crew was polite and cleaned up after themselves but they removed fence sections without requesting permission and did not protect gutters from damage or scuffing. Good crew but when paying a premium for a product exceptional service is expected. No one ever came back for the lawn sign. I had to go looking on your website site for an energy star certificate that should come with the warrantee documents. Would like to be able to purchase the product and install myself.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Glover
The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Glover, Minnesota. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Glover.
How does a metal roof handle Glover's snow and ice buildup?
Metal roofs shed snow and ice more effectively than asphalt because the smooth, hard surface prevents moisture from bonding to it the way it does to granular shingles. Glover receives about 101 cm of snow annually and experiences roughly 77 freeze-thaw cycles per year, which is where asphalt shingles fail fastest—the repeated expansion and contraction cracks the material. Aluminum's oxide layer remains flexible through those cycles without degrading. Interlock panels can be installed with optional snow guards to control slide-off on steep pitches, and the four-way interlocking system stays watertight even under ice dams. You get a dry attic all winter.
Why doesn't freeze-thaw cycling damage aluminum the way it damages asphalt or wood?
Freeze-thaw damage occurs when water enters a material, freezes, expands, and cracks the structure. Aluminum roofing doesn't absorb water—it's a solid metal alloy (3105-H24 aluminum per ASTM B209) with a closed surface that sheds moisture immediately. Even in Glover's approximately 77 freeze-thaw days per year, water never penetrates the panel. Your asphalt roof, by contrast, absorbs moisture into its granules and mat, which then expands and contracts, creating the splits and curling you see every spring. Aluminum doesn't swell, doesn't crack, and doesn't degrade from the ice-melt cycle.
Can aluminum roofing rust like steel roofing does?
No. Aluminum contains no iron, so it cannot rust. When aluminum is exposed to air and moisture, it forms a transparent aluminum oxide layer that actually protects the metal underneath—and if that layer is scratched, it self-heals. This is why Interlock panels, manufactured since 1998 in Delta, BC, have been installed in coastal salt-air environments and even an Antarctic research station without corrosion. The Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon coating is applied to both sides of the panel for extra durability in harsh climates. Steel roofing requires ongoing maintenance to prevent rust. Aluminum requires none.
Does Glover's wind gusts pose a problem for metal roofing?
No. Glover's typical gusts reach about 103 km/h, well within what Interlock metal roofing handles reliably. The panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed to specification, thanks to the four-way interlocking design that locks each panel to its neighbors on all sides. This eliminates the edge-lift problems that plague asphalt shingles, which rely on adhesive and nail-holding alone. Your roof stays fastened in any wind your region throws at it.
Is a metal tile roof heavy enough to need structural reinforcement like concrete tile?
Not at all. The Interlock Mediterranean Tile profile weighs only about 0.59 lb/sq ft—roughly 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile—so no structural reinforcement is needed. This also means the roof installs directly over most existing asphalt roofs, saving you the cost and debris of a tear-off. You get the authentic look of heavy tile without the engineering headache or framing upgrade. Even the Shake profile at 0.58 lb/sq ft and Slate at 0.41 lb/sq ft place negligible load on your home, making metal roofing a retrofit option that older Glover homes can support without any modification.
What's the hail rating, and could it lower my insurance?
Interlock metal roofing carries a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the Guardian Warranty covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Class 4 is the rating that insurers recognize and often reward with discounts on homeowners policies because it proves the roof won't fail in severe hail. Glover's climate includes spring storms typical of the Upper Midwest, and a Class 4 metal roof gives underwriters confidence that your home is protected. Contact your insurance agent with the product specifications; many companies offer measurable savings for this level of impact resistance.
Does a metal roof help with heating and cooling costs?
energy-efficient colors on Interlock roofing reflect significant solar heat rather than absorbing it like asphalt does. The Aged Copper Penny finish, for example, achieves initial solar reflectance up to 0.55 and thermal emissivity of 0.84, both measured to Cool Roof Rating Council standards. In a region with about 3098 sunshine hours per year, that heat rejection keeps your attic cooler in summer and reduces air-conditioning load. The cooler roof also extends the life of the ventilation system and prevents premature asphalt degradation from UV and heat stress. You're lowering cooling costs while the roof itself lasts longer.
What does the warranty actually cover, and how long does it last?
The Guardian Warranty is a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner—it covers rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. That's the full spectrum of failures that plague asphalt and wood. The Alunar coating itself is warranted 30 years against chalking and fading (measured by ASTM D4214 and D2244). When you sell, the warranty transfers to the next owner for 50 years from completion, which is a significant resale selling point. You're not just buying a roof that lasts; you're buying one that the manufacturer stands behind completely.
How long does installation take, and can it go over my existing roof?
Installation timing depends on roof size and complexity, but the process itself is straightforward: panels are laid and interlocked, flashing is sealed, and the roof is complete. Because Interlock metal panels weigh so little (0.41–0.59 lb/sq ft), they install directly over most existing asphalt roofs—no tear-off necessary. This eliminates weeks of disruption, debris hauling, and disposal fees. Interlock Metal Roofing has served the region since 2001 and understands local building codes and weather conditions. Your local installer will walk you through the timeline and process specific to your home.
How much maintenance does a metal roof need compared to asphalt or tile?
Metal roofing requires virtually none. Unlike asphalt, which sheds granules and cracks under Glover's 77 annual freeze-thaw cycles, or wood shake, which splits and rots, aluminum panels stay intact without sealants, coatings, or seasonal inspection. There's no caulk to degrade, no flashing that works loose, no granule loss to inspect. The Alunar PVDF coating is engineered for 30 years of UV and weather resistance, so even in regions with about 557 mm of annual rainfall, the finish doesn't chalk or fade the way asphalt does. An occasional gutter cleaning is all most homeowners ever need.
Is a metal roof a good choice for Glover’s climate?
Yes. Glover averages about 101 cm of snow, 557 mm of rain, roughly 77 freeze–thaw days a year, with peak wind gusts near 103 km/h. Interlock® aluminum roofing is wind-rated to 193+ km/h (120 mph), UL 2218 Class 4 impact-rated and Class A fire-rated, and its four-way interlocking panels shed snow and resist ice dams and freeze–thaw cracking — all backed by a lifetime limited, transferable warranty.
