| Spec / Rating | Climate / Risk Factor + What It Solves |
|---|---|
| Wind resistance: 120+ mph (193+ kph) | Extreme wind, hurricanes, storm uplift: full interlocking attachment helps prevent blow-offs, edge lifting, and panel loss in high-gust events. |
| Fire rating: Class A (with proper assembly) | Wildfire, embers, radiant heat, chimney sparks: non-combustible roof assembly provides the highest residential fire protection rating. |
| Hail resistance: UL 2218 Class 4 | Hail and impact debris: highest impact classification; resists cracking, splitting, and surface loss common with asphalt under hail strikes. |
| Snow & ice performance: interlocking, shedding profile | Heavy snow, freeze-thaw, ice dams: smooth aluminum sheds snow efficiently and the interlocking design helps block water intrusion when melt-refreeze cycles occur. (Final snow-load capacity depends on roof structure and local code.) |

What our customers are saying:
I have enjoyed the new roof you have installed for almost a year now, and I want to say I am so pleased with it. Best of all it was recognized in my taxes and that was especially nice. I have to admit, I have the best looking roof in my neighborhood and it is permanent.
The Interlock associate Ivan, came did an awesome service in correcting the part needed to be corrected, he left us with instructions of what we needed to check and to get in touch with, if needed 😀 Ms. May the associate answering the phone was helpful for us to get prompt service. They are dependable. We received roof service.
Dear Interlock Roofing, Thank you for coming by and installing a new roof on our house. After we first talked at the Tacoma Home Show in January, both Paul and Ross were fantastic in walking us through the process and explaining the roofing system when we met in February. They answered all our questions, and we were eager to get started. Patrick and Drew took the lead with the installation planning and paperwork, and once the materials were ready in May, Patrick dropped them off at our house. The three-man crew installed everything in three days and ensured any installation questions were answered and done properly. In the end, we love the look and expected longevity of our new roof.
By far the best purchase we’ve made for our home. Patrick and Greg were amazing! Installation was quick and there wasn’t any mess left behind. If you have ever thought about getting a metal roof Interlock Roofing is hands down the best!
The cost of the roofing was too high. It looks very nice and glad I had it installed. I have one leak, but I haven't called them about it yet.
The sale experience was good, but the rest was far below expectations, especially for the price paid. We did not buy Interlock just for an attractive roof, we bought it because they are supposed to be experts, have a high level of customer services, and we thought would do things right without headaches. This is far from the case. Hire an company who's actual employees and managers will be on site, not Interlock. Turns out we were actually blindly hiring a crew, who sub-contracts for Interlock, and has a questionable level of experience. Interlock doesn't even show up at your job site at any time during the job, even if you have problems and repeatedly ask them to. Once they have your money at the end of the job, they don't care if you still have issues or even bother to respond to you when you have additional issue. They need an interlock staff member who is an installation expert to be on the job site ideally for the whole job, but at the least, at the start at the middle and at the end who can insure everything is done to high standards and that all of the customers issues are addressed promptly. Paying by the job is also super problematic, this only encourages the crews to work as fast as they possibly can, covering up or ignoring things that might take a bit longer. They have no incentive to fix or give the customer time to fix an issue. The one installation manager you have for a huge region is not even close to adequate, it's no surprise he could not give us an adequate level of communication or attention. Disappointing.
Their workers are very good and very capable. Fewer supply problems. Joe, the scheduler. He does an exceptional job keeping his customers happy and meeting schedules considering supply and covid issues. Always nice and courteous.
They fell short with the roofing underlayment material. The type of boards they actually used. Maybe since they used one over another, they probably need to be more clear and advise the customer who chooses. It is something we noticed. Contact from the company for rescheduling could've been better. I understand delays are unforeseen, but keeping better communication with consumers so they aren't taking time off and then finding it wasn't necessary to do so due to a delay. They were quick to request a referral, which I gave them a good one online, but they were slow when it came time to take care of the damage done. They probably should've waited to ask for the referral until after they had repaired the damage. Now, we feel hurried for a great referral, but they are taking their time to come back for the damage. I look forward to recommending them. This project was referred to us by friends in the midwest. I hope the company follows through on the $500 referral.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Delphi
The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Delphi, Washington. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Delphi.
How does a metal roof handle heavy snow and ice in Thurston County winters?
Metal roofs shed snow and ice more effectively than asphalt because aluminum's smooth, hard surface resists adhesion—critical when Delphi receives about 40 cm of snow annually alongside roughly 34 freeze-thaw cycles per year. Interlock's four-way interlocking panels are rated to handle 120 mph wind speeds when installed to spec, which prevents water infiltration during the freeze-thaw stress that cracks and curls asphalt. Snow guards are available if you want to manage snow load strategically rather than allow continuous shedding.
Why won't my metal roof rust in a Pacific Northwest climate?
Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron—the element that oxidizes and degrades. Instead, aluminum naturally forms a protective oxide layer that actually self-heals when scratched, which is especially valuable in regions with 1370 mm of annual rainfall and occasional salt-air exposure near Puget Sound. The Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon coating on both sides adds 30 years of warranted protection against chalking and fading, giving you a roof that strengthens rather than weakens in wet climates.
What's the actual lifespan and warranty on an Interlock metal roof?
Interlock offers a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner—covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. The warranty is one-time transferable, giving the next owner 50 years of coverage from completion, which supports resale value if you move. This guarantee reflects the durability that has allowed Interlock panels, manufactured since 1998, to protect everything from coastal homes to Antarctic research stations without material failure.
Do I need to reinforce my roof structure for a metal roof?
No structural reinforcement is needed. The Interlock Tile profile weighs about 0.59 lb/sq ft—roughly 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile—so it installs directly over most existing roofs without structural upgrades. This is why Interlock's four profiles range from 0.41 lb/sq ft (Shingle) to 0.59 lb/sq ft (Tile): each is light enough for retrofit installation on homes built to handle asphalt, eliminating expensive framing work while protecting your existing roof from the 1370 mm of annual Delphi rainfall.
Is a metal roof fire-safe?
Yes. Interlock metal roofing is non-combustible aluminum and carries a Class A fire rating (the highest available), rated per ICC-ES evaluation ESR-1790 and IBC/IRC codes reissued 2025. This is especially relevant in Thurston County, where dry summers with 2881 sunshine hours create fire risk. Aluminum cannot ignite, spread flame, or release toxic smoke—qualities that lower insurance premiums and meet CALGreen building standards for fire safety without relying on chemical treatments like those required on wood or composite roofing.
Will my metal roof survive Puget Sound wind storms?
Interlock roofs are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph when installed to spec. Delphi's typical gusts reach 99 km/h (about 62 mph), well below this threshold, and the four-way interlocking panels create structural redundancy—if one fastener loosens, the mechanical lock keeps panels in place. This design prevents the uplift and migration that compromise asphalt shingles in wind, which is why Interlock's panels hold fast during the winter storms common to coastal Washington without requiring roof reinforcement.
How much maintenance does a metal roof really need?
Interlock metal roofing requires minimal maintenance compared to asphalt, wood, or clay tile. With Delphi's 1370 mm annual rainfall naturally rinsing debris and the non-porous aluminum surface resisting moss and algae growth, your roof stays clean without pressure washing or chemical treatment. Interlock's aluminum is CALGreen-verified for reduced maintenance, meaning no periodic sealing, no shingle replacement patches, and no wood rot inspections—just an annual visual check and gutter cleaning, the same routine any roof needs.
Can a metal roof lower my cooling costs?
energy-efficient Interlock colors reflect heat that asphalt absorbs, rated by the Cool Roof Rating Council with initial solar reflectance up to 0.55 and thermal emissivity of 0.84. Even in Delphi's mild 10.8°C average climate, this reflectance reduces attic temperature on the 2881 sunny days per year, lowering air-conditioning load in summer and reducing heat loss through ventilation in winter. The difference compounds over decades: a lighter roof doesn't heat your home, while dark asphalt can add 10–15°F to attic temps on clear days.
Who installs Interlock roofing in Delphi, Washington?
Interlock Metal Roofing (PNW) Inc. has served the region since 1997 and specializes in four-way interlocking aluminum installation for Thurston County and surrounding areas. We manage the full process from inspection through cleanup, install over existing roofs to avoid the landfill waste of tear-offs, and back every installation with The Guardian warranty. Current promotion: no payments and no interest until Spring 2027, or 10% off your installation—contact us for a free assessment of your home's readiness for metal roofing.
How does a metal roof handle 1370 mm of annual rain without leaking?
Interlock's four-way interlocking panels create mechanical seals that shed water without relying on sealant, which degrades over time. When installed over a solid deck and underlayment (standard practice), the system is completely watertight because aluminum doesn't absorb moisture and the overlapping design forces water downward and outward by gravity—the same principle that protects Antarctic research stations in extreme conditions. Delphi's 1370 mm annual rainfall means water management is critical; this aluminum-over-underlayment system handles intense precipitation that can overwhelm asphalt's granule-based water shedding.
Is a metal roof a good choice for Delphi’s climate?
Yes. Delphi averages about 40 cm of snow, 1370 mm of rain, roughly 34 freeze–thaw days a year, with peak wind gusts near 99 km/h. Interlock® aluminum roofing is wind-rated to 193+ km/h (120 mph), UL 2218 Class 4 impact-rated and Class A fire-rated, and its four-way interlocking panels shed snow and resist ice dams and freeze–thaw cracking — all backed by a lifetime limited, transferable warranty.
