I have enjoyed the new roof you have installed for almost a year now, and I want to say I am so pleased with it. Best of all it was recognized in my taxes and that was especially nice. I have to admit, I have the best looking roof in my neighborhood and it is permanent.

Dear Interlock Roofing, Thank you for coming by and installing a new roof on our house. After we first talked at the Tacoma Home Show in January, both Paul and Ross were fantastic in walking us through the process and explaining the roofing system when we met in February. They answered all our questions, and we were eager to get started. Patrick and Drew took the lead with the installation planning and paperwork, and once the materials were ready in May, Patrick dropped them off at our house. The three-man crew installed everything in three days and ensured any installation questions were answered and done properly. In the end, we love the look and expected longevity of our new roof.

The cost of the roofing was too high. It looks very nice and glad I had it installed. I have one leak, but I haven't called them about it yet.

Review: December 5, 2021 Completion: September 11, 2021

The sale experience was good, but the rest was far below expectations, especially for the price paid. We did not buy Interlock just for an attractive roof, we bought it because they are supposed to be experts, have a high level of customer services, and we thought would do things right without headaches. This is far from the case. Hire an company who's actual employees and managers will be on site, not Interlock. Turns out we were actually blindly hiring a crew, who sub-contracts for Interlock, and has a questionable level of experience. Interlock doesn't even show up at your job site at any time during the job, even if you have problems and repeatedly ask them to. Once they have your money at the end of the job, they don't care if you still have issues or even bother to respond to you when you have additional issue. They need an interlock staff member who is an installation expert to be on the job site ideally for the whole job, but at the least, at the start at the middle and at the end who can insure everything is done to high standards and that all of the customers issues are addressed promptly. Paying by the job is also super problematic, this only encourages the crews to work as fast as they possibly can, covering up or ignoring things that might take a bit longer. They have no incentive to fix or give the customer time to fix an issue. The one installation manager you have for a huge region is not even close to adequate, it's no surprise he could not give us an adequate level of communication or attention. Disappointing.

Their workers are very good and very capable. Fewer supply problems. Joe, the scheduler. He does an exceptional job keeping his customers happy and meeting schedules considering supply and covid issues. Always nice and courteous.

Review: May 24, 2021 Completion: April 21, 2021

They fell short with the roofing underlayment material. The type of boards they actually used. Maybe since they used one over another, they probably need to be more clear and advise the customer who chooses. It is something we noticed. Contact from the company for rescheduling could've been better. I understand delays are unforeseen, but keeping better communication with consumers so they aren't taking time off and then finding it wasn't necessary to do so due to a delay. They were quick to request a referral, which I gave them a good one online, but they were slow when it came time to take care of the damage done. They probably should've waited to ask for the referral until after they had repaired the damage. Now, we feel hurried for a great referral, but they are taking their time to come back for the damage. I look forward to recommending them. This project was referred to us by friends in the midwest. I hope the company follows through on the $500 referral.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Belmore

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Belmore, Washington. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Belmore.

Can I get a metal roof that looks like slate, shake, or tile without the weight?

Yes. Interlock offers five profiles—Slate, Cedar Shingle, Shake, Standing Seam, and Mediterranean Tile—all made from lightweight aluminum. The Tile profile weighs about 96% less than concrete or clay tile, so you skip costly structural upgrades. Belmore receives roughly 40 cm of snow annually and experiences about 34 freeze-thaw cycles per year; the four-way interlocking panels shed both without delamination or splitting that plagues wood and ceramic.

Is metal roofing worth it compared to asphalt shingles over 30 or 40 years?

Metal roofing is a one-time investment; asphalt is a cycle. Asphalt typically lasts 15–20 years in Belmore's climate of 1370 mm annual rain and 99 km/h gusts, meaning two or three replacements over 50 years, plus tear-off labor and landfill fees. Interlock carries The Guardian lifetime limited warranty—nonprorated for the original owner, then transferable for 50 years to the next owner. No re-roofing costs, no disposal cycles. Current promotion: 0% interest until Spring 2027 or 10% off installation.

What does Interlock's lifetime warranty actually cover?

The Guardian warranty is a lifetime limited, nonprorated material warranty for the original owner covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. It transfers once to the next owner for 50 years from completion date. The Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon coating is separately warranted 30 years against chalking and fading under ASTM standards. In Belmore's 2881 annual sunshine hours and salt-air exposure (Thurston County's marine influence), this dual protection outlasts traditional roofing by decades.

Why does aluminum never rust, and why does that matter in Washington?

Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron. Interlock uses roofing-grade 3105-H24 and 3003-H24 aluminum alloy per ASTM B209. When scratched, aluminum's oxide layer self-heals, forming a protective barrier again. Belmore's maritime climate—1370 mm rain annually and coastal moisture—accelerates rust on steel roofing. Interlock applies Alunar fluorocarbon coating to both panel sides for extra salt-air defense. This dual strategy means no rust stains, no structural decay, no maintenance paint cycles.

Is metal roofing fire-safe for my home?

Aluminum is non-combustible. Interlock achieves Class A fire classification—the highest rating—as verified by ICC-ES evaluation ESR-1790 (reissued 2025 for current IBC/IRC codes). This matters in Belmore's dry season (2881 sunshine hours per year create fire risk) and satisfies most insurers' premium discounts. The metal panels themselves will not ignite, spread flame, or produce heavy smoke, unlike asphalt or wood shake roofing.

How much maintenance does a metal roof need compared to asphalt or cedar shake?

Aluminum metal roofing requires far less. No algae, no moss, no rot, no re-coating cycles. Belmore's 1370 mm annual rainfall and 34 freeze-thaw days per year cause asphalt to crack and wood to split; Interlock's interlocking aluminum panels shed water and ice without damage. CALGreen verification confirms reduced maintenance burden. Occasional gutter cleaning and inspection after severe wind (gusts to 99 km/h are typical) are standard; cedar shake requires staining every 7–10 years, and asphalt shingles curl and lose granules within 15 years in this climate.

Will a metal roof increase my home's resale value in Belmore?

Yes—a permanent, transferable roof appeals to buyers. The Guardian warranty transfers to the next owner for 50 years, a powerful selling point in a market where roof replacement is often the largest surprise cost. Belmore homeowners know that coastal Washington's 1370 mm rain, 40 cm snow, and 99 km/h gusts demand reliable protection. Metal roofing's visible durability and low-maintenance profile rank consistently among home features that justify higher asking prices and faster sales.

How long does installation take, and can you install over my existing roof?

Installation timeline varies with roof size and complexity, typically 3–7 days for residential homes. Interlock Metal Roofing (PNW) Inc. has served the region since 1997 and handles both tear-off and over-roof installations. Because Interlock panels weigh only 0.41–0.59 lb/sq ft depending on profile, installation over most existing asphalt or composite roofing is structurally sound—no reinforcement needed. The crew can often complete your job without scaffolding removal between phases, minimizing disruption.

Is metal roofing better for the environment than asphalt?

Substantially. Aluminum is approximately 95% recyclable at end of life. Interlock roofing ends the asphalt tear-off-to-landfill cycle—Belmore's 1370 mm annual rainfall degrades asphalt roofing every 15–20 years, generating repeated landfill waste. Interlock panels, made from roofing-grade aluminum alloy per ASTM B209, can be recycled indefinitely without degradation. The lifetime warranty means no replacement for decades, deferring any recycling decision by 50+ years. CALGreen verification confirms this product's reduced-waste profile.

Will a metal roof hold up to Belmore's wind and storms?

Yes—Interlock panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph when installed to specification. Belmore's typical gusts reach 99 km/h (~62 mph), well within this margin. The four-way interlocking design locks each panel to its neighbors on all sides, distributing wind load across the entire roof system rather than relying on fasteners alone. UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating (the highest available) also confirms hail resistance. This engineering handles coastal storms and mountain wind funnels that Thurston County experiences regularly.

Is a metal roof a good choice for Belmore’s climate?

Yes. Belmore averages about 40 cm of snow, 1370 mm of rain, roughly 34 freeze–thaw days a year, with peak wind gusts near 99 km/h. Interlock® aluminum roofing is wind-rated to 193+ km/h (120 mph), UL 2218 Class 4 impact-rated and Class A fire-rated, and its four-way interlocking panels shed snow and resist ice dams and freeze–thaw cracking — all backed by a lifetime limited, transferable warranty.
