| Spec / Rating | Climate / Risk Factor + What It Solves |
|---|---|
| Wind resistance: 120+ mph (193+ kph) | Extreme wind, hurricanes, storm uplift: full interlocking attachment helps prevent blow-offs, edge lifting, and panel loss in high-gust events. |
| Fire rating: Class A (with proper assembly) | Wildfire, embers, radiant heat, chimney sparks: non-combustible roof assembly provides the highest residential fire protection rating. |
| Hail resistance: UL 2218 Class 4 | Hail and impact debris: highest impact classification; resists cracking, splitting, and surface loss common with asphalt under hail strikes. |
| Snow & ice performance: interlocking, shedding profile | Heavy snow, freeze-thaw, ice dams: smooth aluminum sheds snow efficiently and the interlocking design helps block water intrusion when melt-refreeze cycles occur. (Final snow-load capacity depends on roof structure and local code.) |

What our customers are saying:
Prompt service and very knowledgeable. Highly recommend.
My wife and I wanted a long-term roof and I think we found it. The product seems very good and are installer Daniel was terrific and a trooper put a lot of hours and a lot of time and made it look real nice when it was completed. I would recommend the company if you're looking for a metal roof.
Ivan Excellent will make it right!!
We needed a roof repair when our neighbors tree dropped a large limb through our roof. Ivan came And accessed The damage, Ordered the sheets we needed. He came back and did the whole Repair himself. So happy to have it fixed along with his recommendations to have the roof cleaned. We appreciate his skills in repairing The roof.
The Interlock associate Ivan, came did an awesome service in correcting the part needed to be corrected, he left us with instructions of what we needed to check and to get in touch with, if needed 😀 Ms. May the associate answering the phone was helpful for us to get prompt service. They are dependable. We received roof service.
The work was efficient and well done. The service, the people and team were great. Beautiful roof.
I highly appreciate the professionalism, workmanship and the quality of materials used. I don't doubt that it will be our forever roof and will not need to worry about replacement during the life of our house. Ross, Tony, Roma were all great throughout the new roof installation process.
We noticed water spots on the ceiling. Ivan came, found a hole likely caused by a branch in the recent wind storm. He repaired the hole on the spot. Thank you Ivan!
Ivan replaced our exhaust vent on the roof that had some leaking issue. We were impressed with his professionalism, courtesy and fixing the problem to our utmost satisfaction. We certainly would recommend him and the company for any roofing issues being it a new roof or repairs.
We recently had our roof replaced with interlock aluminum shingles and we love how it made our house stand out in our neighborhood. I would have given 5 stars but there were few things that I wanted to point out. Ross arrived on time and did an excellent presentation. I specifically asked him if their installers are contractors and his answer was no, they are employees of interlock. Turns out they are contractors which is no big deal as long as they do excellent work, it’s all about honesty. Prior to installation, the installers told me that it would take about two and a half days to finish which is great, I said no rush. The installation process took two weeks, I hope everything will go well this coming rainy season. The only thing I didn’t like was at the end of the day they leave their tools in the driveway just laying around and the worst they leave their microwave plugged into the outlet with damaged power cord. But with all things said, we love our new roof and only time will tell if it was worth the price.
Excellent contact and coordination with field representatives and installers/project manager.
We recently had our roof replaced with aluminum shingles and are very satisfied so far. - Easy Sales Process – Thank you Ross for making everything clear and straightforward from the start. - Great Value – The price was very reasonable compared to other estimates. - Better Than Expected – The finished look exceeded our expectations and really improved the appearance of our home. It’s not as glossy as we feared, which we like. - Fast & Efficient – The crew worked quickly and finished everything in just 2 days for our ~1,000 sq. ft. house with two layers of old shingles. - No Issues – No noise at all, despite common concerns about metal roofs. Tip for others: Ask for the exact model and size of vents that will be installed before the project starts. Our vents were only a few months old but couldn’t be reused, and the ones the company brought were the wrong size. The crew had to buy replacements last minute, which worked but don’t perfectly match.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Oakville
The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Oakville, Washington. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Oakville.
Does metal roofing handle Oakville's snow and ice buildup?
Yes—Interlock's four-way interlocking panels and smooth aluminum surface shed snow and ice far more effectively than asphalt shingles. Oakville receives about 40 cm of snow annually and experiences roughly 34 freeze-thaw cycles per year, both conditions that trap moisture under traditional shingles and accelerate deterioration. Aluminum's non-porous surface prevents water absorption during those freeze-thaw swings. Optional snow guards can be installed if you prefer controlled shedding. The lightweight design (Slate at 0.41 lb/sq ft) means no structural strain from accumulated snow load.
Will a metal roof leak in Oakville's heavy rainfall?
No. Oakville averages about 1370 mm of rain annually, and metal roofing with proper installation actually outperforms asphalt in wet climates. The four-way interlocking panels create a continuous overlap system that sheds water downward without pooling. When installed over solid deck and ice-and-water underlayment—standard practice here—the system is impermeable. The 30-year coating warranty and lifetime limited material warranty cover any perforation or corrosion, so rainfall protection is guaranteed for the life of your roof.
Can metal roofing withstand Oakville's wind gusts?
Absolutely. Oakville experiences typical daily-max winds around 16 km/h with gusts reaching 99 km/h, and Interlock's four-way interlocking aluminum panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed to specification. The interlocking design—each panel grips its neighbors on all four sides—distributes wind load across the entire roof rather than relying on fasteners alone. This mechanical bond is why the system holds fast in the Pacific Northwest's winter storm season without requiring additional bracing or reinforcement.
Why choose aluminum roofing over steel in a wet climate like Oakville?
Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron; the element that oxidizes is iron, not aluminum. Interlock uses roofing-grade 3105-H24 and 3003-H24 aluminum alloy (ASTM B209), with a 70% PVDF Alunar coating applied to both sides for salt-air protection. In Oakville's cool, wet climate with marine air influence, this dual-sided coating resists the salt-laden moisture that corrodes steel roofing. Even if scratched, aluminum's oxide layer self-heals. The 30-year coating warranty and lifetime limited material warranty cover any corrosion, making aluminum the only metal roofing choice for long-term durability in coastal-adjacent regions.
Is a metal roof worth the upfront cost over asphalt shingles?
Yes—over 50+ years, metal roofing is the lowest-cost roof you'll buy. Asphalt shingles require replacement every 15–20 years; in Oakville's 1370 mm annual rainfall and 34 freeze-thaw cycles, degradation accelerates further. Interlock's lifetime limited warranty for the original owner and 50-year transferable term mean one installation handles the life of your home and adds resale value. Factor in zero maintenance costs (no algae treatment, no repairs from wind or hail), and metal roofing eliminates the asphalt replacement cycle entirely. Current financing offers no payments and no interest until Spring 2027 or 10% off installation.
Does my home's frame need reinforcement for a metal roof?
No structural reinforcement is needed. Interlock's Slate profile weighs just 0.41 lb/sq ft, Shake 0.58, and Tile 0.59—the Tile is about 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile. Most homes can support this load without any framing work. In fact, the lightweight design installs directly over most existing asphalt roofs, eliminating costly tear-off and disposal. Your structural engineer or local installer can confirm your roof deck is adequate (typically it is), but the extraordinary lightness of aluminum is why Interlock can retrofit homes that could never support traditional tile or slate.
What's the actual lifespan and warranty of an Interlock metal roof?
The Guardian Warranty is lifetime limited for the original owner—non-prorated material coverage for rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. The 70% PVDF coating is separately warranted 30 years against chalking and fading (ASTM D4214/D2244 measured). The warranty transfers once to the next owner, valid for 50 years from completion, adding documented resale appeal. Coupled with Interlock's manufacturing heritage since 1998 and field installations from coastal homes to an Antarctic research station, the roof is engineered to last 50+ years in service. In Oakville's climate, this means one roof for life.
How much maintenance does a metal roof really need?
Virtually none. Unlike asphalt shingles, which require algae treatment and spot repairs every few years in Oakville's wet 1370 mm rainfall climate, Interlock metal roofing sheds debris and moisture without pooling or degradation. No re-nailing, no patching, no moss treatment. Asphalt also curls and cracks during the roughly 34 annual freeze-thaw cycles typical here; aluminum flexes safely and resists splitting. The CALGreen-verified design documentation confirms reduced maintenance burden. Simply inspect gutters and trim vegetation—standard practices for any roof. The lifetime limited warranty covers material defects, so your only cost is the roof itself, not ongoing repairs.
Is a metal roof fire-resistant?
Yes. Interlock aluminum roofing achieves Class A fire classification (the highest available) because aluminum is non-combustible and ICC-ES evaluated under ESR-1790 (reissued 2025 for IBC/IRC compliance). Aluminum will not burn, catch fire, or emit flammable gases—a critical advantage over asphalt shingles, which are petroleum-based and flammable. In Oakville and the broader Grays Harbor County region, Class A ratings align with modern building codes and insurer requirements. The non-combustible material also reduces ember intrusion risk during wildfire seasons. This is a straightforward safety advantage: non-combustible aluminum outlasts and outperforms asphalt in every fire-safety metric.
Can a metal roof reduce cooling costs in summer?
Yes. Interlock's energy-efficient colors feature thermal emissivity of 0.84 and initial solar reflectance up to 0.55 (Aged Copper Penny), rated by the Cool Roof Rating Council. This means the roof reflects heat that asphalt absorbs, lowering cooling demand even during Oakville's modest summer temperatures. Over 2881 annual sunshine hours, this reflectivity compounds savings across the year. energy-efficiency certification is verified; the coating warranty covers 30 years of performance. While Oakville's mean temperature of 10.8°C limits aggressive cooling, the reflective properties eliminate attic heat buildup, reduce HVAC strain, and lower utility bills—a tangible energy benefit with no moving parts to maintain.
