Interlock® Aluminum Roofing — all-climates performance specs for Rayville, Washington
| Spec / Rating | Climate / Risk Factor + What It Solves |
|---|---|
| Wind resistance: 120+ mph (193+ kph) | Extreme wind, hurricanes, storm uplift: full interlocking attachment helps prevent blow-offs, edge lifting, and panel loss in high-gust events. |
| Fire rating: Class A (with proper assembly) | Wildfire, embers, radiant heat, chimney sparks: non-combustible roof assembly provides the highest residential fire protection rating. |
| Hail resistance: UL 2218 Class 4 | Hail and impact debris: highest impact classification; resists cracking, splitting, and surface loss common with asphalt under hail strikes. |
| Snow & ice performance: interlocking, shedding profile | Heavy snow, freeze-thaw, ice dams: smooth aluminum sheds snow efficiently and the interlocking design helps block water intrusion when melt-refreeze cycles occur. (Final snow-load capacity depends on roof structure and local code.) |
| Corrosion resistance: aluminum (won’t rust) | Salt air, coastal humidity, wet climates: aluminum naturally resists rust and corrosion, reducing long-term failure risk in marine or high-moisture environments. |
| Heat / UV durability: baked-on coating system | High heat, intense sun, thermal cycling: coatings resist UV breakdown and temperature-swing fatigue, slowing fading and surface degradation. |
| Moss / algae resistance: smooth coated surface | Wet shade, organic growth: low-porosity metal surface gives moss/algae less to grip, reducing staining and maintenance. |
| Material: heavy-gauge aluminum roof profiles (Slate / Shake / Shingle / Tile / Standing Seam) | All-season structural stability: lightweight, dent-resistant metal system stays stable through large hot-cold swings and severe weather. |
| Expected lifespan: 50+ years | Long-term durability across climates: avoids re-roof cycles typical of shorter-life materials, even in high-stress environments. |
| Warranty: Lifetime-Limited, non-prorated + 50-year transferable | Lifetime protection + resale value: guarantees long-term material confidence and transfers to future owners. |

What our customers are saying:
Prompt service and very knowledgeable. Highly recommend.
My wife and I wanted a long-term roof and I think we found it. The product seems very good and are installer Daniel was terrific and a trooper put a lot of hours and a lot of time and made it look real nice when it was completed. I would recommend the company if you're looking for a metal roof.
Ivan Excellent will make it right!!
We needed a roof repair when our neighbors tree dropped a large limb through our roof. Ivan came And accessed The damage, Ordered the sheets we needed. He came back and did the whole Repair himself. So happy to have it fixed along with his recommendations to have the roof cleaned. We appreciate his skills in repairing The roof.
The Interlock associate Ivan, came did an awesome service in correcting the part needed to be corrected, he left us with instructions of what we needed to check and to get in touch with, if needed 😀 Ms. May the associate answering the phone was helpful for us to get prompt service. They are dependable. We received roof service.
The work was efficient and well done. The service, the people and team were great. Beautiful roof.
I highly appreciate the professionalism, workmanship and the quality of materials used. I don't doubt that it will be our forever roof and will not need to worry about replacement during the life of our house. Ross, Tony, Roma were all great throughout the new roof installation process.
We noticed water spots on the ceiling. Ivan came, found a hole likely caused by a branch in the recent wind storm. He repaired the hole on the spot. Thank you Ivan!
Ivan replaced our exhaust vent on the roof that had some leaking issue. We were impressed with his professionalism, courtesy and fixing the problem to our utmost satisfaction. We certainly would recommend him and the company for any roofing issues being it a new roof or repairs.
We recently had our roof replaced with interlock aluminum shingles and we love how it made our house stand out in our neighborhood. I would have given 5 stars but there were few things that I wanted to point out. Ross arrived on time and did an excellent presentation. I specifically asked him if their installers are contractors and his answer was no, they are employees of interlock. Turns out they are contractors which is no big deal as long as they do excellent work, it’s all about honesty. Prior to installation, the installers told me that it would take about two and a half days to finish which is great, I said no rush. The installation process took two weeks, I hope everything will go well this coming rainy season. The only thing I didn’t like was at the end of the day they leave their tools in the driveway just laying around and the worst they leave their microwave plugged into the outlet with damaged power cord. But with all things said, we love our new roof and only time will tell if it was worth the price.
Excellent contact and coordination with field representatives and installers/project manager.
We recently had our roof replaced with aluminum shingles and are very satisfied so far. - Easy Sales Process – Thank you Ross for making everything clear and straightforward from the start. - Great Value – The price was very reasonable compared to other estimates. - Better Than Expected – The finished look exceeded our expectations and really improved the appearance of our home. It’s not as glossy as we feared, which we like. - Fast & Efficient – The crew worked quickly and finished everything in just 2 days for our ~1,000 sq. ft. house with two layers of old shingles. - No Issues – No noise at all, despite common concerns about metal roofs. Tip for others: Ask for the exact model and size of vents that will be installed before the project starts. Our vents were only a few months old but couldn’t be reused, and the ones the company brought were the wrong size. The crew had to buy replacements last minute, which worked but don’t perfectly match.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Rayville
The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Rayville, Washington. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Rayville.
How does a metal roof handle Rayville's heavy snow and freeze-thaw cycles?
Metal roofs shed snow and ice more effectively than asphalt because the smooth, slippery surface prevents accumulation, and the aluminum's thermal conductivity helps prevent ice dams. Rayville averages about 63 cm of snow annually and roughly 20 freeze-thaw days per year—conditions where ice dams commonly form under asphalt shingles and cause leaks. Interlock's four-way interlocking aluminum panels, warranted to 120 mph winds, stay secure even during the region's typical gusts to 106 km/h. Snow guards are available if you prefer to retain snow for insulation value, but most homeowners here find the self-shedding behavior eliminates the need for regular snow removal.
Will a metal roof leak in Rayville's wet climate?
No—when properly installed to ICC-ES ESR-1790 code over a solid deck and underlayment, metal roofs are exceptionally watertight in heavy rain. Rayville receives about 1662 mm of rain annually, and the interlocking four-way panel design channels water continuously downward without pooling or backing up under the overlap. The aluminum itself cannot rust or rot, so even if water reaches the substrate (rare with correct installation), the panel faces no corrosion. Our local installer has been serving the region since 1997 and routinely installs over existing roofs, taking care to maintain proper deck integrity and drainage slope.
Why should I choose aluminum roofing instead of steel in a rainy climate like Rayville?
Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron—it forms a self-healing oxide layer that actually protects the metal when scratched, making it ideal for Rayville's 1662 mm of annual rainfall and humidity. Steel, by contrast, rusts whenever bare iron is exposed to moisture, and corrosion accelerates in damp climates unless the coating is perfect. Interlock uses 3105-H24 and 3003-H24 roofing-grade aluminum alloy with a Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish applied to both sides (extra insurance against salt air and moisture), warranted 30 years against chalking and fading. Over a 50+ year roof life, this means no rust repair costs and no structural degradation from corrosion.
What's the hail rating on Interlock metal roofing, and could it lower my insurance premium in Rayville?
Interlock Slate, Cedar Shingle, Shake, and Tile profiles all carry the UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the warranty covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. While Rayville's 10-year climate data doesn't flag severe hail as a primary concern, the Class 4 rating is recognized by many insurers as a sign of durability and may qualify you for premium discounts. Contact your agent with the product specifications and ICC-ES ESR-1790 evaluation report; many homeowners have negotiated lower rates based on impact resistance, which over a 50-year lifespan can offset a portion of the installation cost.
Is a metal roof light enough to install over my existing asphalt shingles without reinforcing the structure?
Yes—Interlock's aluminum is extraordinarily light, making it one of the few premium roof systems that installs directly over most existing roofs. The Slate profile weighs about 0.41 lb/sq ft, the Shake about 0.58, and even the Mediterranean Tile, which replicates heavy clay, weighs only 0.59 lb/sq ft—roughly 96% lighter than genuine concrete or clay tile. By contrast, wood shake and slate can require costly framing upgrades. A structural engineer can confirm your home's capacity in minutes, but most residential framings built to modern codes (and many older homes) have no trouble. Our local installer will assess your deck during a free estimate and advise whether you can install over existing shingles or need a tearoff.
Is a metal roof expensive compared to asphalt shingles over the long term?
Upfront cost is higher, but the lifetime value is dramatically better. Asphalt roofs last 15–25 years and require tear-off disposal (landfill waste), then replacement. Metal roofs last 50–70+ years with zero replacement, near-zero maintenance, and full recyclability. Over a 50-year horizon, you avoid two or three asphalt replacements, plus the labor, disruption, and landfill fees. Rayville's 106 km/h gusts, 1662 mm annual rainfall, and 20 freeze-thaw days accelerate asphalt deterioration (curling, cracking, moss growth). Metal eliminates those failure modes. Currently, Interlock is offering no payments and no interest until Spring 2027 or 10% off installation—timing that lets you spread the cost while you're still ahead of your next asphalt failure.
How much maintenance does a metal roof really need compared to asphalt or wood shake?
Interlock metal roofs require almost no maintenance—no annual inspections, no repairs, no moss treatment, no wood preservation. Asphalt shingles in Rayville's damp 1662 mm-per-year climate often grow moss and algae within 5–10 years, requiring chemical treatment or pressure washing (which voids warranties). Wood shake splits and rots as freeze-thaw cycles (about 20 per year here) stress the grain, and curling shingles allow leaks. Aluminum cannot rot, crack, or split, and it sheds debris in rain and wind (gusts to 106 km/h). The Alunar 70% PVDF coating is CALGreen-verified for reduced maintenance. Rinse gutters occasionally and you're done—no repairs for decades.
Is Interlock metal roofing fire-safe and does it meet local building codes?
Yes—aluminum is non-combustible and Interlock profiles are Class A fire rated, the highest classification available. The product is evaluated under ICC-ES ESR-1790 (reissued 2025), which covers the IBC and IRC codes that Rayville and Grays Harbor County follow. Class A means the roof will not ignite or contribute to fire spread, a requirement in many jurisdictions and strongly preferred by insurers. In a region with about 2776 sunshine hours per year and occasional dry periods, fire safety is a real consideration for wood-sided homes. Metal roofs also shed burning embers in wildfire conditions better than asphalt or wood, making them a smart choice for defensible space.
What style options does Interlock offer, and do they really look like the traditional materials they replicate?
Interlock manufactures five profiles—Slate, Cedar Shingle, Shake, Mediterranean Tile, and Standing Seam—each engineered to match the texture, shadow lines, and dimension of the original material. The four interlocking design means seams are hidden and panels are flush-laid, eliminating the visible fasteners of standard metal roofs. Cedar Shingle suits classic Pacific Northwest homes, Slate works for contemporary or traditional designs, Shake delivers rustic character without wood's rot risk in Rayville's 63 cm annual snow and 1662 mm rain. Mediterranean Tile evokes coastal elegance while weighing 96% less than clay, and Standing Seam offers a clean, modern look. All profiles are available in multiple colors, including energy-efficient options with 0.84 thermal emissivity for Rayville's cool 10.8°C mean temperature.
Who installs Interlock metal roofing in Rayville, and how long has the company been in the area?

They're backed by Interlock's manufacturing expertise (the company has been making aluminum roofing in Delta, BC since 1998 and has installed roofs from coastal salt-air homes to an Antarctic research station), so you're working with a proven local partner backed by a proven maker.
