Interlock Aluminum Roof Review — Pascoag, RI (Installed 2016)

Pascoag, RI

TL;DR: Pascoag Review Summary

Roofing installation in Pascoag: the homeowner’s old roof was in very bad shape, they discovered Interlock after seeing one on a customer’s home, researched options, and placed Interlock at the top of their list. Sales rep Jeff Smith provided a professional on-site consultation and an accurate quote (the Interlock roof was almost 2.5× the cost of conventional shingles), but financing and product benefits (lifetime warranty, hail/wind resistance, energy efficiency, snow-shedding) made the decision easier; installed about two months ago, the roof looks excellent and they’ve recommended Interlock to others, including the homeowner’s architect brother.

I first found out about Interlock metal roofs when I visited one of our customer’s homes and noticed the gorgeous roof…I asked her who installed it for her and she told me it was a metal roof by Interlock. The roof on my house was in very bad shape and I was shopping for a new roof and I put Interlock at the top of my list.

Upon doing some research, I realized that an Interlock roof was going to cost me quite a bit more than a conventional shingled roof and I was bummed that it may be out of my budget, so I got several quotes on conventional shingles before I finally decided to contact Interlock and get an accurate quote. From the first contact with the Interlock sales rep, Jeff Smith, I could tell that Interlock was a company that operated at a far higher level than any other home improvement companies I have come in contact with…Jeff was extremely knowledgeable, personable, and prepared! He conducted himself in a professional manner and took the time to ask lots of questions about my goals for the house and roof, he took accurate measurements so he could provide me with an accurate quote and while he was preparing his quote (on the spot), he had me watch an informational video on his iPad that outlined all of the benefits of an Interlock roof (Lifetime Warranty, hail resistant, wind resistant, Energy efficient, snow slides off, etc., etc.). By the end of the video, I was 100% convinced that the product is amazing and I knew it was the roof I wanted…but, I was still nervous that it would be waaayyy out of my budget. I told Jeff of my concerns and he presented me with the quote….which, as I suspected, was almost 2.5 times more than a conventional shingle roof. Once I got over my initial sticker shock, I thought about all the value that I would be getting…Lifetime Warranty, hail resistant, wind resistant, Energy efficient, snow slides off, etc., etc. and the decision became much easier…then, to make it even easier, Interlock offered me great financing which fit my budget perfectly! How could I say no? The roof was installed about 2 months ago and it looks AWESOME!! I am very happy with the decision to spend the extra money for a high quality product and I’ve already recommended Interlock to multiple people…including my brother who is an architect for high-end homes and he was so impressed with the quality that he’s been recommending Interlock roofs to his clients!

Top 10 Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Pascoag

Homeowners researching metal roofing in Pascoag often have several important questions before replacing their roof. Many people want to understand how metal roofing compares to traditional materials like asphalt shingles in terms of lifespan, durability, cost, and long-term value. Roofing decisions can also be influenced by local weather conditions. Homes in Pascoag may experience environmental factors such as rain, wind, snow, heat, fire, or seasonal storms that can impact roof performance over time. The following frequently asked questions help explain what homeowners should know when evaluating metal roofing and why many people choose durable roofing systems designed for long-term protection.

Metal roofs commonly last at least 50–75+ years, while asphalt shingles typically wear out in 15–30 years. In Pascoag, cold, snowy winters with roughly 40–45″ of annual snow and frequent freeze–thaw cycles plus year-round rainfall and seasonal humidity increase roof stress from snow loads, ice dams, and moisture cycling—conditions that favor metal’s durability over asphalt. Metal resists rot, sheds snow and ice, and tolerates repeated temperature swings and wet seasons with less maintenance. Homeowners here often choose heavy-duty metal systems to avoid premature replacement, reduce ice-dam and leak risk, and withstand wind and wet conditions. Interlock Metal Roofing systems use heavy-gauge aluminum and come with a lifetime limited 50-year transferable warranty designed for long-term protection.
Metal roofs in Pascoag typically cost more up front than asphalt shingles, but many homeowners choose them for longer lifespan and lower lifetime maintenance. Final price depends on roof size, slope, complexity (dormers, valleys), tear‑off difficulty, flashing and skylight work, and local labor rates. Pascoag sees heavy annual precipitation and significant winter snowfall with regular freeze–thaw cycles—conditions that increase snow/ice loads and accelerate wear on lesser materials. Those local factors can raise installation complexity and favor metal for durability. Many compare options by lifetime value rather than initial price: a durable metal system often reduces future repair and replacement costs. Interlock Metal Roofing focuses on long‑term ownership value and performance over competing on lowest upfront cost.
Pascoag has cold, snowy winters with regular freeze–thaw cycles and roughly 50–52 inches of annual precipitation—conditions that increase snow loads and moisture exposure for roofs. Lifespan: metal typically lasts 40–70 years; asphalt shingles 15–30 years. Maintenance: metal needs occasional fastener/finish checks; shingles require more frequent patching, moss/algae cleaning, and eventual full replacement. Durability: metal resists wind, heavy snow and freeze–thaw cycling better; shingles can crack, lift, or trap moisture under ice dams. Long‑term value: higher upfront cost for metal but lower lifecycle costs and fewer reroofs; shingles are cheaper initially but may require multiple replacements in a homeowner’s lifetime. Homeowners in Pascoag who prioritize durability and long‑term protection often choose metal. Interlock Metal Roofing appeals for lasting performance, reduced maintenance in snowy/freezing climates, and strong architectural curb appeal.
This is a common myth: metal roofs in Pascoag, RI are not inherently loud in rain. Modern residential metal roofing installed over solid decking with proper underlayment, insulation and attic space does not sound like a barn roof. Sound depends on the complete roof assembly—insulation, underlayment, air gaps and attic configuration all dampen noise—and installation quality and fastener technique matter. Properly installed residential metal roofs are typically similar in sound to asphalt shingle or tile roofs. Interlock Metal Roofing systems are installed as complete residential roofing systems designed to manage weather and sound, not as thin, echo-prone panels.
Yes — in Pascoag, RI, a metal roof can be energy efficient. Metal roofing reflects sunlight and reduces heat gain in summer, lowering cooling loads. Overall energy performance also depends on the roof assembly: insulation levels, air sealing, and attic ventilation strongly influence heat flow and seasonal comfort. In Pascoag’s New England climate, reflective coatings may help in summer while insulation and ventilation are critical to limit winter heat loss and condensation. Homeowners researching roof replacement often consider energy efficiency to reduce utility bills, improve comfort, increase resale value, and qualify for local incentives or meet code. Choosing the right materials and assembly is as important as the roof surface. Interlock Metal Roofing systems are designed to support long‑term home performance, durability, and energy‑conscious installation.
Pascoag, RI experiences Nor’easters, gusty coastal and inland storms, heavy rain, snow and ice in winter, plus occasional summer thunderstorms and hail—conditions that routinely stress roofs. Metal roofing performs well in wind (high uplift resistance when designed and fastened correctly), sheds snow and water quickly, and can resist hail better than many asphalt shingles when using impact‑rated panels or thicker gauges. Performance, however, depends on roofing system design (panel profile, seams, underlayment), installation quality (fasteners, flashing, attachment), and material durability (gauge, coating, substrate). Homeowners weigh weather resilience because it affects leak risk, repair costs, insurance, and service life. Interlock Metal Roofing systems are engineered for durability, improved hail protection, and tested wind resistance—making them a strong choice for Pascoag’s severe‑weather profile when specified and installed properly.
Corrosion and rust resistance are critical considerations for metal roofing in Pascoag, RI. Metal roofing performance depends on the type of metal: steel, galvanized or galvalume, and aluminum behave differently in moisture and salt exposure. Some materials are inherently more corrosion‑resistant; aluminum, in particular, performs well in wet or coastal environments because it forms a protective oxide layer and does not rust. Homeowners should prioritize corrosion resistance to maximize service life, reduce maintenance and repair costs, avoid leaks, and preserve property value in humid or marine‑influenced climates. Interlock Metal Roofing systems use aluminum construction engineered for strong corrosion resistance and are protected by the Alunar Coating System for extra protection.
Metal roofing in Pascoag, Rhode Island is generally considered low maintenance but not maintenance-free. Homeowners should perform periodic inspections—after storms and seasonally—to look for loose fasteners, damaged panels, or worn sealants. Remove debris (leaves, branches, ice) and keep gutters clear to prevent standing water or corrosion. Check flashing, roof penetrations (vents, chimneys, skylights) and seams for gaps or sealant failure, and verify that snow guards and snow-shedding paths are intact. Severe weather events, winter ice, salt spray, and seasonal debris can accelerate wear or cause localized damage. Overall, metal roofs are a durable, long-lasting, low-maintenance option for Pascoag homes when routine checks and minor upkeep are performed.
Yes—metal roofing can increase home value in Pascoag, RI. Buyers often prioritize durable, low-maintenance roofs that reduce future repair costs, and premium roofing materials boost curb appeal, helping homes stand out on the market. A long lifespan and strong warranty also improve buyer confidence, making metal-roofed homes more attractive. Architectural style matters locally; a metal roof that complements neighborhood character and historic streetscapes will add more perceived value than a mismatched profile. Interlock Metal Roofing systems offer multiple architectural profiles—slate, cedar shingle, Mediterranean tile, shake, and standing seam—and are available in heavy-gauge aluminum and solid copper, providing premium looks and the longevity Rhode Island buyers appreciate.
Yes — Interlock Metal Roofing Systems in Pascoag can accept solar panels when Interlock Metal Roofing – New England installs custom solar brackets tailored to the profile. Pascoag’s cold, snowy winters and frequent freeze–thaw cycles put extra stress on roof penetrations and mounts, so durable materials and proper flashing matter. Roof lifespan is crucial when adding panels: long‑lasting metal roofs are preferred to avoid removing arrays for reroofs. When comparing materials, plan for future solar at replacement so flashing, attachment points, and structural capacity are specified for solar mounting. Interlock systems are solar‑compatible and designed to support certified mounting solutions.

I’ve had my interlock roof for 14 yrs and have had no issues with it until this last winter. We had heavier than normal snow and a lot of freeze thaw conditions. Several of the snow deflectors were pushed forward and lifted some of the roof. I emailed Dave and Tyler and repairs were made quickly . You can’t tell there was any concerns at all.

Metal Shingle Roof Review in Sudbury, ON (Interlock - Installed 2017)

Review: April 25, 2026

Completion: June 7, 2018

We had our roof replaced in 2017 with an aluminum roof by Interlock Metal Roofing. We live on the lake, and prior to the replacement, we were spending thousands of dollars every year because shingles would fly off in the wind.

We haven’t had any issues in the past 7 years. Our experience with Interlock Metal Roofing was excellent — they were very professional and did a beautiful job, even though our roof is quite high and challenging.

Our roof still looks beautiful, and we haven’t had to worry about it at all in the past 9 years.

I love my Interlock roof! No more climbing up to clean it, and no more gritty debris falling into my garden after a few years. It looks fantastic and performs exactly as it should.

The installers were excellent—knowledgeable, detail-oriented, and personable. Ivan is a gem! He handled a small flashing addition efficiently and cleaned the entire roof with a blower in no time.

After almost ten years, it’s still the only roof I would choose.

Interlock Metal Roof Review - Ramara, ON (Installed 2019)

Review: April 23, 2026

Completion: April 23, 2026

We are so happy with our interlock roof from Bruce. We had shopped around because we live on the lake with strong winds and we wanted a quality, long lasting product. Our roof has never changed colour and looks just as good now as the day it was installed. We also love the lifetime transferable warranty. We also love that it is made in Canada so there are no tariffs. Bruce was our sales person. He came right away, explained everything to us. We made the right decision not choosing shingles because of the environment and quality of the product. This was an affordable investment that was worth it. The crew was professional in every aspect. If I move, I will definitely be contacting Bruce again for another interlock roof.

Portland, OR Metal Shingles Review — Safety Anchors Installed 2019

Review: April 20, 2026

Completion: June 20, 2019

We’ve had our roof for about 7 years and have been very pleased with it. Recently, I scheduled gutter cleaning which was complicated by a run of wet weather which makes the roof very slippery. The gutter contractor asked if we had ever considered installing safety anchors. I didn’t know there was such a thing. I called Interlock and Ivan came by to take a look. He quickly determined appropriate locations for the anchors that the gutter cleaners could clip their safety harnesses to and showed me an example of the anchor itself. He also offered to paint them black to make them more inconspicuous on our dark roof. He returned about a week later for the install and afterwards showed us pictures of the anchors from the roof and pointed them out from the ground. Overall very professional, prompt, excellent service.

Interlock Metal Shingle Roof Review in Bay View, WI (Installed 2009)

Review: April 16, 2026

Completion: February 20, 2009

I had Interlock put on a beautiful red slate roof 17 years ago.The roof still looks beautiful. 5 years ago, I had them also re-roof my garage with the same type of slate. The roofs look gorgeous and I have no maintenance whatsoever.I get complements all the time. The guy whom I contracted with was named "Tim' but has since died. He was a really nice guy. Back in 2009, the roof was much cheaper. ( I actually paid more for the garage 5 years ago!) I am extremely happy with the roofs. The guys did a wonderful job, replacing rotted boards where necessary. They also told me about very cheap gutters I could buy at Menards instead of those ridiculously - priced "special" gutter systems. I bought them and they placed them on my buildings. This home will go to my daughter one day; I do not want her to have to lift a finger. Note that I had an asphalt roof previously. It lasted only 12 years. The shingles curled up under the sun and cracked. They looked terrible. I can honestly say that these metals roofs by Interlock are very much worth what you pay for them. They will last a lifetime with almost no maintenance. Instead of replacing a roof every 15 years and paying lots for asphalt or fiberglass, their metal roofs last very long and you will never have to re- roof again.

Interlock Metal Roofing Review in Saint Paul, AB — 50-Year Warranty (Installed 2025)

Review: April 15, 2026

Completion: August 31, 2025

We recently installed a new Interlock Roofing System, and we couldn’t be happier with the decision. Knowing it’s backed by a limited lifetime, non-prorated, fully transferable 50-year warranty gives us real peace of mind—it truly feels like a smart long-term investment. Mr. Yorman and his crew were outstanding from start to finish. Their commitment to customer service is second to none. They showed up exactly when they said they would and worked diligently until the job was completed. The finished product looks fantastic, and the cleanup was so thorough that our property actually looked better than before they arrived. A special mention to Tyler, who did an excellent job walking us through the benefits and helping us feel confident in choosing this system. Overall, a great experience and highly recommended!

We highly recommend both the product and the team.

I recently had my 25 year old asphalt roof replaced with an Interlock Metal roof. I'm so very happy with my decision. In fact, best decision ever to have Interlock Industries install. The metal roof is manufactured in Delta, BC and they have their own installers. It's not panels! It looks very much like a cedar roof! Colour is awesome as well! My home is located in Victoria on Vancouver Island and looks great with my new roof! Interlock is a very professional business from contract signing to installation. Amazing crew that gets the job done in a timely manner. My roof looks fabulous. It's a work of art!!

Aurora, ON Metal Roofing Review — Interlock Installation (2016)

Review: April 13, 2026

Completion: May 3, 2016

We moved into our new house in 1984. Our new house came with new 25 year shingles. In 2004, 20 years later we noticed that our roof shingles needed to be redone. Now, back in 1984 they used asbestos in the roof shingles and although at the time they said they were 25 year shingles, we were still happy to get 20 years out of them. So, in 2004 we got a quote and had the roof re-shingled. We paid extra for the 25 year shingles as we had such a good result with the original shingles. In 2016 (i.e. 12 years later) my neighbour told us that our shingles on the south side of the house were cracked with rolled up edges and needed to be replaced. (We can't see the south roof of our house unless we are visiting the neighbours.) The shingles on the north side were still ok, but since you can't really shingle half a roof we knew that we had to have the whole roof done...after just 12 years. We were a little upset about this and decided to go to the National Home Show in Toronto to look at alternatives. We met Tom Watson at the Interlock Metal Roofing booth and he took a lot of time and explained the complete roofing system to us. We liked what we saw and what was explained to us and we arranged to have a home visit from Interlock and to give us a quote. The metal roof was certainly a lot more expensive than a regular asphalt shingle roof, but we decided to get the metal roof anyways because we did not want the hassle of having to re-shingle every 10 or 11 years...and there are also some other unforeseen benefits detailed below that we did not know about at the time. The metal roof comes with a Lifetime Limited Warranty, 50 year transferable, not prorated so even though more expensive it adds value to lyour home because if in the future you are looking to sell, the buyer knows he won't have any roof problems for the 50 year life of the roof. Your roof becomes an asset instead of a liability. The installation happened over 4-5 days. I paid a lot of attention to what they were doing and how they were doing it. The roof vents were removed. These are the same roof vents that raccoons like to rip off for access to your attic, so that potential problem went away. A ridge vent (google it) was installed on the top of the roof and it is low profile and fits in so you would not know that it is there. Raccoons have been known to chew a hole in asphalt shingles and roofing plywood to get into your attic. With a metal roof, it isn't happening. That mode of access is eliminated. Now, with our previous asphalt shingles we had constant problems with raccoons pooping on our roof (sound familiar?) and for some reason, at least for the last 10 years that we have had the metal roof, that has not happened. I don't know why, but I can speculate that the raccoons find the metal roof very slippery and they are not comfortable being up there and doing their business while trying not to slide off the roof. Also, in the past we have had squirrels occasionally make their way through, under, beside our asphalt shingles and get into our attic. That will never happen with a metal roof because the whole roof is sealed and northing is getting that way. If you are concerned about high winds ripping off your shingles you don't have to worry with a metal roof. Each and every metal shingle is fastened to the roof with aluminum screws (note the metal roof shingles are painted and baked to a tough finish) and they are interlocked with each other, so you may lose your entire roof in a hurricane, but the metal shingles will still be attached to it. We moved into our new house in 1984. After about 2 years of sweating through humid summers, we installed an A/C system. Our new A/C system worked ok in that it removed the humidity and cooled the house, but with the high 37 deg C temperatures it was struggling. The A/C would run continuously and never stopped on those hot days, but once the metal roof was installed it cycled on and off as designed. We highly recommend Interlock Metal Roofing.

We had our roofed replaced by Interlock Roofing in 2016. One of the best decisions we’ve ever made! Our roof looks like slate shingles but is entirely metal. We e received many compliments on it over the years Recently we had a lot of strong wind and hailstorms and our representative, John Mondeshean, checked in with us to see if we sustained any roof damage. He came out and inspected our roof for us within a day or two. Luckily we didn’t have any damage. I’ve been impressed by this company and their product from day one. John is the consummate professional. Our roof is now 10 years old and I still say it was the best investment! Highly recommend!
