The timeline was a little bit longer than what we expected. The cleanup wasn't perfect and part of that might have been due to the fact that I have a number of gardens around the house and maybe you can't see the debris in them.

Item 12 : We spoke of a $ 950.00 deduct from the bill for sign advertising on lawn. However deduct was not on my bill so sign was immediately removed. Unfortunately have had numerous inquirers about job and product. Without agreement I feel I'm not your rep for getting your more business.

I would but I think interlock roofing should fix some problems. The quality of the roof is okay but some things need more improvement in and doing the job professionally.

I got the estimate and they told me they would come back if the manager approves the price, and two weeks later they said the manger approved the price. Two months later they called and said the estimate was not right, so I agreed to pay that and said to go ahead and do it, but they never called me. There should be more communication between them and their client. Also, they gave me a letter and an 800 number to call seven days a week, and every time I'd call I had to wait a couple of days for a response, and that's a problem.

Communication between company and workers. Foreman lacked knowledge of what was to be done. Workers shovelled overbearing amount of snow onto roof of BBQ pergola causing structural and roof damage. Would like repaired.

We had our Interlock Metal Roof installed in 2011 and recently experienced some damage to the flashing. I called and spoke with Cheri, the Office and Service Department Administrator, who promptly scheduled Brad to assess the issue at the next available time. Despite one of the coldest winter days, Brad repaired the flashing efficiently and at no charge. I may be biased, but every time I pull into our driveway, I truly believe we have the best roof on our street. I would highly recommend Interlock Metal Roofing (Ontario) Ltd.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Floradale

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Floradale, Ontario. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Floradale.

How does a metal roof handle Floradale's snow and ice buildup?

Metal roofs shed snow more effectively than asphalt because the smooth, slippery surface doesn't grip ice the way granules do. Floradale gets about 107 cm of snow yearly, and freeze-thaw cycles occur roughly 88 days per year—conditions that crack and curl asphalt but leave aluminum unaffected. The four-way interlocking panels bond tightly, so water doesn't migrate under the panels during thaw cycles. Optional snow guards prevent large avalanche-style dumps if that's a concern for walkways below.

Will freeze-thaw damage an aluminum metal roof over time?

No. Aluminum doesn't absorb moisture, so it won't crack or curl like asphalt does through repeated freeze-thaw. With 88 freeze-thaw days annually and an average of 779 mm rain per year in Floradale, the metal panels simply expand and contract without degradation. The material itself is stable; the interlocking seams stay watertight because water is shed off the smooth surface, not trapped in granules where it can freeze and expand.

Can a metal roof handle Floradale's wind gusts?

Yes—Interlock's four-way interlocking panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed to specification. Floradale's typical wind gusts reach about 115 km/h, putting you well within the rated envelope. The four-way interlock means each panel locks on all sides to its neighbors, distributing wind load across the entire roof system rather than relying on fasteners alone. That's why the warranty covers the wind resistance directly.

Why doesn't aluminum metal roofing rust like steel does?

Aluminum contains no iron, so it cannot rust chemically. Instead, it forms a natural oxide layer that protects the base metal—and if that layer is scratched, it self-heals by re-oxidizing. The Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish adds another 30-year warranted barrier against chalking and fading. This dual protection matters in Floradale where moisture is constant (779 mm rain plus 107 cm snow), because the roof doesn't degrade from salt spray, wet freeze-thaw cycles, or long wet seasons the way ferrous metals do.

What's the hail rating on Interlock metal roofing, and could it lower my insurance?

Interlock panels achieve UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. That class rating often qualifies homeowners for insurance discounts because Class 4 roofs represent the lowest claims risk. Floradale's weather pattern includes hail events, so documenting that Class 4 rating when you file your homeowner's insurance claim is straightforward and may reduce your premium.

Do I need to reinforce my home's structure for a metal roof?

No structural reinforcement is needed. Interlock's aluminum panels weigh roughly 0.41 lb/sq ft for the Shingle profile and about 0.59 lb/sq ft for the Tile—meaning the Tile profile is approximately 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile. Because they're so light, Interlock installs directly over most existing roofs without adding strain. Your existing framing was already built to handle a roof; the metal panels simply replace your current covering with something that lasts longer and weighs less.

Will a metal roof help lower cooling costs in summer?

Yes, if you choose an energy-efficient color. Those colors have thermal emissivity of 0.84 and initial solar reflectance up to 0.55 (like Aged Copper Penny), reflecting heat that asphalt absorbs and radiates into your attic. Although Floradale averages 2970 sunshine hours annually—moderate for Ontario—every bit of reflected heat reduces cooling load. The Cool Roof Rating Council certifies these reflectance values, so your savings are measurable, not theoretical. Metal's thermal performance compounds over a 50-year lifespan.

Is metal roofing worth the upfront cost compared to asphalt shingles?

Over the roof's full life, yes. Asphalt typically lasts 15–20 years; you'll tear it off and replace it at least twice before Interlock's lifetime limited warranty expires for you. That's multiple tear-offs, labor, and landfill tipping fees—plus disposal of all that asphalt waste. Interlock's Guardian Warranty covers material for the original owner's lifetime and transfers 50 years to the next owner, making this the last roof you buy. Current regional pricing includes interest-free payments for 3 months and savings of at least $2499 on installation.

What exactly does Interlock's lifetime warranty cover?

The Guardian Warranty is a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner, covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance—basically everything structural. It transfers once to the next owner for 50 years from completion. No other roof covering offers non-prorated lifetime coverage; asphalt degrades in 15 years, and even high-end tiles can split in Floradale's 88 annual freeze-thaw cycles. This warranty reflects the aluminum's actual durability: Interlock has been manufacturing these panels since 1998.

Who installs Interlock metal roofing in Floradale, and what's their experience?

Interlock Metal Roofing (Ontario) Ltd. serves the Floradale area and has been installing these roofs regionally since 1998—the same year Interlock began manufacturing. That's 26 years of hands-on installation experience with the exact panels, in the exact climate, on homes just like yours. They understand Floradale's freeze-thaw cycling, snow load, and wind patterns because they've been protecting homes through them. Having the manufacturer's own installer handle your project means the warranty is backed by the people who know the product inside and out.

Is a metal roof a good choice for Floradale’s climate?

Yes. Floradale averages about 107 cm of snow, 779 mm of rain, roughly 88 freeze–thaw days a year, with peak wind gusts near 115 km/h. Interlock® aluminum roofing is wind-rated to 193+ km/h (120 mph), UL 2218 Class 4 impact-rated and Class A fire-rated, and its four-way interlocking panels shed snow and resist ice dams and freeze–thaw cracking — all backed by a lifetime limited, transferable warranty.
