| Spec / Rating | Climate / Risk Factor + What It Solves |
|---|---|
| Wind resistance: 120+ mph (193+ kph) | Extreme wind, hurricanes, storm uplift: full interlocking attachment helps prevent blow-offs, edge lifting, and panel loss in high-gust events. |
| Fire rating: Class A (with proper assembly) | Wildfire, embers, radiant heat, chimney sparks: non-combustible roof assembly provides the highest residential fire protection rating. |
| Hail resistance: UL 2218 Class 4 | Hail and impact debris: highest impact classification; resists cracking, splitting, and surface loss common with asphalt under hail strikes. |
| Snow & ice performance: interlocking, shedding profile | Heavy snow, freeze-thaw, ice dams: smooth aluminum sheds snow efficiently and the interlocking design helps block water intrusion when melt-refreeze cycles occur. (Final snow-load capacity depends on roof structure and local code.) |
| Corrosion resistance: aluminum (won’t rust) | Salt air, coastal humidity, wet climates: aluminum naturally resists rust and corrosion, reducing long-term failure risk in marine or high-moisture environments. |
| Heat / UV durability: baked-on coating system | High heat, intense sun, thermal cycling: coatings resist UV breakdown and temperature-swing fatigue, slowing fading and surface degradation. |

| Material: heavy-gauge aluminum roof profiles (Slate / Shake / Shingle / Tile / Standing Seam) | All-season structural stability: lightweight, dent-resistant metal system stays stable through large hot-cold swings and severe weather. |
| Expected lifespan: 50+ years | Long-term durability across climates: avoids re-roof cycles typical of shorter-life materials, even in high-stress environments. |

What our customers are saying:
Everybody was great to work with highly professional. Any underlying damage was all taken care of and we love the roof.
> We had the pleasure of meeting Jonathan Brown at the Mohegan Sun Home Show and couldn’t pass up the opportunity to tell him how happy we are with our Interlock roof of ~20 years. We constantly receive compliments from people passing by on how beautiful it looks. Most of all, we appreciate the peace of mind it gives us—knowing we’ll never have to replace our roof, thanks to the lifetime warranty and guaranteed protection against leaks.
Jonathan was great help getting us all the information needed for the roof and what to expect, and the whole process. The installation was fast, the roofers were hard working and professional. The look of the metal roof is superb!
It was a pleasure working with Interlock from beginning to end. The back office was good about setting expectations for job start and duration, delivery of materials (which happened on time) and work to be performed. They were also good about making adjustments to work with trim that needed to be replaced, etc. The crew that did the install and cleanup was very professional and hard working. I am extremely satisfied with the end result and would definitely recommend Interlock! This is actually my second roof, I had one installed on a different property 20 years ago and it has held the test of time with virtually no maintenance.
What a beautiful roof. We are so happy and now we have a forever roof. Thank you. Techs were great. Positive: Punctuality, Quality Services: Roof installation
Salesman was very courteous and polite. Straight forward no hype or fluff. Company kept constant contact, took care of the required building permits. Had the dumpster and materials delivered on time and removed quickly. The crew was phenomenal, polite courteous. Explained everything, and was very conscientious about their work. If the the nail didn't go in the way he liked he pulled it and did it right. Nailing was all done by hand. Roof has been great since no issues and still looks great. Over all very pleased and well worth the money.
Couldn’t have chosen a better product, it’s been 2 years since installation and have absolutely no issues. The house is cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. Speaking of winter it’s only a matter of hours after a snow storm that all the snow slides right off, no more ice dams and ice filled gutters. The installers were awesome had the entire roof done in a day and a half and cleaned up prior to leaving. We love our Interlock roof.
This letter has been a long time in coming. My husband and I had an Interlock Roof installed in November 2009 and have been meaning to tell you how pleased we are with the look of the new roof and the service provided by the installers ~ Nazaar and Vitality. We’ve gotten many questions and compliments from friends, neighbors and passersby. Both our home and detached garage needed to be re-roofed, with both requiring removal of the old roofing material and the installation of plywood before applying the Interlock product. We were originally told that it would take up to 2 weeks for the job to be completed. To our amazement, the job was completed within a week’s time and that included inclement weather! Nazaar and Vitaliy put in very long days, were very polite, honored their commitments and ALWAYS cleaned everything up before they left for the day. We have children and a dog and found not one nail in the yard after the job was completed. Based on this experience and a product that speaks for itself, we would definitely recommend an Interlock Roof!
I wish to thank " target="\_blank" rel="noopener">Interlock Industries, Inc. for a great roofing system. I'm 100% satisfied and it has a clean and beautiful look. It's great! It's wonderful to know the roof never need replacement again. I also wish to thank Bob Allen, Jerry and Paul McAllister for being so helpful in completing the work. I know this " target="\_blank" rel="noopener">roof system was right when we met Bob Allen the first time, he explained everything in detail. Everything he said was correct. The men who did the work were polite and respectiful, and were clean and neat in the work process. Thank you guys. I would recommend an Interlock Roof for every home, or any building and the long term ">cost is less than another roof system.
Sorry I didn’t get this to you sooner, but I just wanted to drop you a line on the excellent installation of my roof by Nazar and Sergei. They installed our roof in February and never let the harsh weather affect their attention to detail and their determination to do quality work. I was very fortunate to get these two Ukrainian gentlemen as my installers.
I am writing to tell you how much my wife and I are satisfied with our new roof from Interlock Roofing. Our old asphalt shingles were showing the effects of time both aesthetically and functionally. Most noticeably was the water mark on the living room ceiling that just kept growing with each passing rain. We certainly weren't looking forward to buying a new roof, since we were still paying for our wedding six months before, but knew we had to do something soon. I mentioned to Dawn that I had heard metal roofs were becoming popular because of how long they last; but she was concerned our home would look like a fast food restaurant, a factory, or even worse a tin roof barn. She made it clear that a modern looking metal roof would ruin the look of our 1860s vintage home. I said I thought I had seen a couple of years ago a house that was done with what I thought the sign said was metal but looked like shingles instead of ridged sheets she pictured. The problem was I couldn't remember the name of the roofer – just that they had an orange sign. A friend of our mentioned there was a Home Show coming up in Worchester and we figured it would be fun to look around and dream about improvements we could make. As we walked the aisles, I saw your familiar orange sign and product display booth. I said to Dawn look at this! This looks really nice – it looks just like " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">slate! Wouldn't that look really great on our house! Two weeks later, you explained what made Interlock Roofing different from other materials and the lifetime " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">warranty helped us feel confident in making what was for us a major purchase decision. Although an Interlock roof might cost more initially, we think it is well worth it knowing we will never have to buy another roof for this home again. Your company and crews are great! A representative called to let us know materials were being delivered and when they arrived they were neatly stored out of the way until the work began. A supervisor called to let us know when the work would begin, and except for two days of rain which delayed their start, the job was completed within the estimated three days. At the end of each day, they cleaned up after themselves and when the job was competed they raked up any pieces that may have been missed in the grass. The completed roof looks great and enhances the appearance of our home. We have had many people stop and compliment us on it and at least one had already installed an Interlock roof of their own. Should we ever move from this home in the future, one of the features we will look for is an Interlock roof or plan on upgrading to one in our new home as well.
Just wanted to let you know that we are very satisfied with the aluminum interlocking roof which was installed in July of 2005. It was amazing to us how quickly and efficiently your men worked in removing our old asphalt layers of roof and installing the new one. Needless to say, we were very impressed with their work as well as our new roof! Unfortunately, during installation of the roof, damage was done to the interior ceiling of our dining room. Interlock did respond and the damaged area was repaired in a timely manner. Unfortunately our existing ceilings are plaster and the repaired area was done in wallboard which simply do not match. In order for this to be repaired properly, the entire ceiling has to be repainted with a light texture. Whatever you can do to help rectify the pending repair to the interior ceiling would be greatly appreciated. We look forward to speaking with you in the near future. Once again, thank you for offering us the opportunity to upgrade our home with an outstanding roof.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Glenville
The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Glenville, Connecticut. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Glenville.
Will a metal roof hold up through Connecticut's freeze-thaw cycles?
Yes. Interlock aluminum roofs are engineered for climates with repeated freezing and thawing. Glenville experiences about 66 freeze-thaw days per year, plus roughly 63 cm of snow, which means your roof cycles constantly between expansion and contraction. Aluminum's crystalline structure and four-way interlocking design absorb this movement without cracking, splitting, or losing its shape. The roofing-grade 3105-H24 / 3003-H24 aluminum alloy (ASTM B209) maintains flexibility across temperature swings that would degrade asphalt or compromise wood shakes. No maintenance is required to manage freeze-thaw stress.
How does a metal roof perform in heavy snow and ice?
Metal roofs excel in snow load and ice management. Glenville receives about 63 cm of snow annually across roughly 3115 sunshine hours, creating conditions where snow both accumulates and melts. Interlock's four-way interlocking panels lock together under load and resist uplift, preventing snow migration and ice dam formation along eaves. The lightweight design—the Shingle installs at just 0.41 lb/sq ft—allows snow to rest stably without overloading your structure. Optional snow guards direct melt safely. Unlike asphalt shingles that trap moisture under ice, aluminum's non-porous surface sheds water cleanly during thaw cycles.
Can an aluminum metal roof rust in Connecticut?
Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron. Instead, a self-healing oxide layer forms on the surface, protecting the metal underneath. This matters in Glenville's humid Fairfield County climate, where asphalt deteriorates and steel roofs corrode. Interlock panels are coated on both sides with Alunar® 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish, warranted 30 years against chalking and fading, adding a second barrier. Even if the aluminum is scratched, the oxide layer automatically reforms. This dual-protection system means no rust stains, no structural corrosion, and no surprise failures in the salt-air-adjacent environment of Connecticut's coast.
Are metal roofs strong enough for Connecticut wind and coastal gusts?
Yes. Interlock metal roofs are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph when installed to specification. Glenville's typical gusts reach about 135 km/h (roughly 84 mph), well within that rating, with the warranty covering the rare extremes. The four-way interlocking panel design—each panel locks to its four neighbors—distributes wind load across the entire roof system rather than relying on fastener strength alone. This means wind pressure cannot peel the roof up from the edges. Installation over solid decking adds further rigidity. The system has performed in Antarctic research stations and coastal salt-air homes for over 25 years.
Does heavy rain leak through metal roofing?
No. Interlock panels are engineered to manage Glenville's annual rainfall of about 1251 mm through a combination of lap overlap, gravity shedding, and secondary water pathways. Water flows downhill through the panel profile and into gutters; the four-way interlock creates a labyrinth that prevents water from being blown upslope by wind. Installation over solid decking with underlayment creates a redundant barrier. The ICC-ES evaluation report ESR-1790 confirms performance under heavy-rain conditions per IBC/IRC standards. Properly installed, metal roofs have no higher leak risk than asphalt, and they tolerate high-volume rainfall without saturation or rot.
Will my homeowners insurance recognize a metal roof's hail protection?
Possibly. Interlock metal roofs carry a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the Guardian Warranty covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Some insurers offer premium reductions for Class 4 impact-rated roofs because they statistically reduce claims. Contact your insurer with the UL 2218 Class 4 certification to inquire about discounts. In Glenville's climate, with about 18 km/h typical daily-max winds and occasional severe weather, the Class 4 rating provides peace of mind. Concrete and clay tiles rarely achieve this rating; asphalt shingles do not. Submit the Intertek listing 33876 as your product documentation.
Is a metal roof a better investment than replacing asphalt shingles every 15–20 years?
Yes, over the life of your home. Metal roofs last 50+ years with no maintenance; asphalt shingles last 15–20 years and require tear-off and disposal. In Glenville's climate—roughly 1251 mm rain, 63 cm snow, and 66 freeze-thaw days annually—asphalt deteriorates faster than in milder regions. The Guardian Warranty provides a non-prorated lifetime limited material warranty for the original owner. That means no roof replacement for you. A transferable 50-year coverage on the next owner also increases resale appeal. Current promotion: no payments and no interest until Spring 2027, or 10% off installation. Aluminum's recyclability also eliminates the landfill cycle asphalt creates.
Do metal roofs reduce cooling costs in summer?
Yes. Interlock's energy-efficient colors have thermal emissivity of 0.84 and initial solar reflectance up to 0.55—reflecting heat rather than absorbing it like asphalt shingles do. In Glenville, where about 3115 annual sunshine hours warm roofs year-round, this reflectance keeps attic temperatures lower, reducing air-conditioning load in summer months. The Cool Roof Rating Council certification confirms performance. Dark asphalt shingles absorb that same solar energy, raising cooling costs. Metal's lightweight design also allows ventilation underneath without structural penalty. Energy savings depend on color choice and roof pitch, but measurable reductions in summer cooling bills are typical.
How long does installation take, and can you install over my existing roof?
Installation typically takes 3–7 days depending on roof size and complexity. Yes, Interlock installs over most existing roofs because the panels are extraordinarily light—the Tile profile is about 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile, so no structural reinforcement is needed. Existing asphalt shingles often serve as underlayment; your deck remains undisturbed. This saves weeks of tear-off time and eliminates landfill waste. Interlock Metal Roofing (New England) Inc. has served this region since 1999 and handles all permitting. Our local team assesses your roof in person, schedules around weather patterns in Glenville's climate (considering snow and wind), and guarantees a clean worksite. Ask about the current promotion: no payments or interest until Spring 2027.
What does Interlock's warranty actually cover, and for how long?
The Guardian Warranty is a non-prorated lifetime limited material warranty for the original homeowner, covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. It transfers once to the next owner, who receives 50-year coverage from completion. That means if you sell, the buyer gets a documented warranty—a significant resale advantage. Unlike prorated warranties that pay you less each year, this one pays full replacement value if a defect occurs. The Alunar® coating is separately warranted 30 years against chalking and fading (ASTM D4214 / D2244 measured). Given Glenville's 66 annual freeze-thaw days and 1251 mm rainfall, this coverage protects against the stresses that degrade asphalt and wood.
