> We had the pleasure of meeting Jonathan Brown at the Mohegan Sun Home Show and couldn’t pass up the opportunity to tell him how happy we are with our Interlock roof of ~20 years. We constantly receive compliments from people passing by on how beautiful it looks. Most of all, we appreciate the peace of mind it gives us—knowing we’ll never have to replace our roof, thanks to the lifetime warranty and guaranteed protection against leaks.

Review: November 15, 2024 Completion: November 19, 2024

It was a pleasure working with Interlock from beginning to end. The back office was good about setting expectations for job start and duration, delivery of materials (which happened on time) and work to be performed. They were also good about making adjustments to work with trim that needed to be replaced, etc. The crew that did the install and cleanup was very professional and hard working. I am extremely satisfied with the end result and would definitely recommend Interlock! This is actually my second roof, I had one installed on a different property 20 years ago and it has held the test of time with virtually no maintenance.

Salesman was very courteous and polite. Straight forward no hype or fluff. Company kept constant contact, took care of the required building permits. Had the dumpster and materials delivered on time and removed quickly. The crew was phenomenal, polite courteous. Explained everything, and was very conscientious about their work. If the the nail didn't go in the way he liked he pulled it and did it right. Nailing was all done by hand. Roof has been great since no issues and still looks great. Over all very pleased and well worth the money.

Review: June 15, 2019 Completion: September 17, 2017

Couldn’t have chosen a better product, it’s been 2 years since installation and have absolutely no issues. The house is cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. Speaking of winter it’s only a matter of hours after a snow storm that all the snow slides right off, no more ice dams and ice filled gutters. The installers were awesome had the entire roof done in a day and a half and cleaned up prior to leaving. We love our Interlock roof.

This letter has been a long time in coming. My husband and I had an Interlock Roof installed in November 2009 and have been meaning to tell you how pleased we are with the look of the new roof and the service provided by the installers ~ Nazaar and Vitality. We’ve gotten many questions and compliments from friends, neighbors and passersby. Both our home and detached garage needed to be re-roofed, with both requiring removal of the old roofing material and the installation of plywood before applying the Interlock product. We were originally told that it would take up to 2 weeks for the job to be completed. To our amazement, the job was completed within a week’s time and that included inclement weather! Nazaar and Vitaliy put in very long days, were very polite, honored their commitments and ALWAYS cleaned everything up before they left for the day. We have children and a dog and found not one nail in the yard after the job was completed. Based on this experience and a product that speaks for itself, we would definitely recommend an Interlock Roof!

I wish to thank " target="\_blank" rel="noopener">Interlock Industries, Inc. for a great roofing system. I'm 100% satisfied and it has a clean and beautiful look. It's great! It's wonderful to know the roof never need replacement again. I also wish to thank Bob Allen, Jerry and Paul McAllister for being so helpful in completing the work. I know this " target="\_blank" rel="noopener">roof system was right when we met Bob Allen the first time, he explained everything in detail. Everything he said was correct. The men who did the work were polite and respectiful, and were clean and neat in the work process. Thank you guys. I would recommend an Interlock Roof for every home, or any building and the long term ">cost is less than another roof system.

Sorry I didn’t get this to you sooner, but I just wanted to drop you a line on the excellent installation of my roof by Nazar and Sergei. They installed our roof in February and never let the harsh weather affect their attention to detail and their determination to do quality work. I was very fortunate to get these two Ukrainian gentlemen as my installers.

Review: August 25, 2007 Completion: April 27, 2007

I am writing to tell you how much my wife and I are satisfied with our new roof from Interlock Roofing. Our old asphalt shingles were showing the effects of time both aesthetically and functionally. Most noticeably was the water mark on the living room ceiling that just kept growing with each passing rain. We certainly weren't looking forward to buying a new roof, since we were still paying for our wedding six months before, but knew we had to do something soon. I mentioned to Dawn that I had heard metal roofs were becoming popular because of how long they last; but she was concerned our home would look like a fast food restaurant, a factory, or even worse a tin roof barn. She made it clear that a modern looking metal roof would ruin the look of our 1860s vintage home. I said I thought I had seen a couple of years ago a house that was done with what I thought the sign said was metal but looked like shingles instead of ridged sheets she pictured. The problem was I couldn't remember the name of the roofer – just that they had an orange sign. A friend of our mentioned there was a Home Show coming up in Worchester and we figured it would be fun to look around and dream about improvements we could make. As we walked the aisles, I saw your familiar orange sign and product display booth. I said to Dawn look at this! This looks really nice – it looks just like " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">slate! Wouldn't that look really great on our house! Two weeks later, you explained what made Interlock Roofing different from other materials and the lifetime " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">warranty helped us feel confident in making what was for us a major purchase decision. Although an Interlock roof might cost more initially, we think it is well worth it knowing we will never have to buy another roof for this home again. Your company and crews are great! A representative called to let us know materials were being delivered and when they arrived they were neatly stored out of the way until the work began. A supervisor called to let us know when the work would begin, and except for two days of rain which delayed their start, the job was completed within the estimated three days. At the end of each day, they cleaned up after themselves and when the job was competed they raked up any pieces that may have been missed in the grass. The completed roof looks great and enhances the appearance of our home. We have had many people stop and compliment us on it and at least one had already installed an Interlock roof of their own. Should we ever move from this home in the future, one of the features we will look for is an Interlock roof or plan on upgrading to one in our new home as well.

Review: June 2, 2006 Completion: July 25, 2005

Just wanted to let you know that we are very satisfied with the aluminum interlocking roof which was installed in July of 2005. It was amazing to us how quickly and efficiently your men worked in removing our old asphalt layers of roof and installing the new one. Needless to say, we were very impressed with their work as well as our new roof! Unfortunately, during installation of the roof, damage was done to the interior ceiling of our dining room. Interlock did respond and the damaged area was repaired in a timely manner. Unfortunately our existing ceilings are plaster and the repaired area was done in wallboard which simply do not match. In order for this to be repaired properly, the entire ceiling has to be repainted with a light texture. Whatever you can do to help rectify the pending repair to the interior ceiling would be greatly appreciated. We look forward to speaking with you in the near future. Once again, thank you for offering us the opportunity to upgrade our home with an outstanding roof.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Stamford

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Stamford, Connecticut. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Stamford.

Will a metal roof handle Connecticut's freeze-thaw cycles without cracking or warping?

Yes—aluminum's molecular structure makes it immune to freeze-thaw damage that degrades asphalt and wood. Stamford experiences roughly 66 freeze-thaw days per year, a cycle that causes traditional shingles to curl and crack as water enters micro-gaps, expands when frozen, and splits the material. Aluminum expands uniformly and contains no water-absorbing substrate, so ice formation within the panel itself cannot occur. The oxide layer that forms naturally on aluminum actually strengthens over time, making the material more durable with each seasonal swing.

How does a metal roof handle Stamford's heavy annual rainfall without leaking?

The four-way interlocking system creates a mechanical seal where Interlock panels overlap, shedding the 1251 mm of annual rainfall that Stamford receives before water reaches the deck. Unlike asphalt, which relies on adhesive seals that degrade in UV and temperature swings, these aluminum locks remain rigid across the roof's life. Combined with a solid deck and underlayment—installed to ICC-ES ESR-1790 standards—water is directed away from any potential entry point. The interlocking design also means fasteners are hidden, eliminating the fastener-hole leaks common in exposed-fastener metal roofs.

Do metal roofs cause dangerous ice dams in snowy climates like ours?

No—ice dams form when snow melts at the eaves due to interior heat loss, then refreezes into a ridge that traps water. Metal roofs reflect rather than absorb solar energy: energy-efficient colors achieve thermal emissivity of 0.84, meaning they radiate heat efficiently and don't create the warm substrate that triggers melting. Stamford's average 63 cm of snow per year will slide off or shed predictably without accumulating heat beneath it. If snow guards are desired for safety or aesthetic reasons, they install directly into Interlock's panel profile without penetrating the roof—no leak risk.

Why can't an aluminum roof rust like steel roofing can?

Aluminum contains no iron—iron is what rusts when exposed to oxygen and moisture. The moment aluminum contacts air, a thin oxide layer forms automatically, blocking further oxidation; if that layer is scratched, it self-heals within hours. Interlock panels are coated with Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish on both sides (even the underside in salt-air regions), and this barrier is warranted for 30 years against chalking and fading per ASTM D4214. Stamford's 1251 mm annual rainfall and seasonal moisture cycles accelerate rust in ferrous metals, but aluminum's chemistry simply doesn't allow it—your roof will never develop the orange staining or structural decay that steel experiences.

Will a metal roof stay secure in Stamford's worst winds?

Yes. Interlock panels resist winds up to 120 mph when installed to specification, exceeding Stamford's recorded gust speeds of roughly 135 km/h (about 84 mph). The four-way interlocking system locks each panel to its neighbors mechanically—fasteners are concealed and transfer load across a broad surface rather than stressing individual connection points. This design has weathered installations from coastal hurricane zones to Antarctic research stations. Even in Fairfield County's windiest days, the panel-to-panel grip prevents uplift, flutter, or separation that can plague single-locked or standing-seam designs during sustained gusts.

Can my existing roof structure handle a metal roof, or do I need reinforcement?

No reinforcement needed. The Interlock Tile profile installs at roughly 0.59 lb/sq ft—approximately 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile—and can be installed over most existing roofs without structural modification. Slate and shake profiles are similarly light at 0.41 to 0.58 lb/sq ft. Most homes already support asphalt shingles (about 2-3 lb/sq ft), so aluminum is a net weight reduction. This lightweight advantage means installation is faster, labor costs are lower, and you avoid the expense of structural engineer reports or joist reinforcement. A local inspection confirms your specific roof can accept the installation, but the material itself eliminates the structural barriers that traditional tile or slate impose.

Is metal roofing worth the upfront cost compared to asphalt shingles?

Over the roof's lifetime, yes—it's the last roof you buy. Asphalt typically lasts 15-20 years and requires replacement twice in the span one aluminum roof survives. The Guardian warranty is lifetime limited and non-prorated for the original owner, with a one-time transfer giving the next owner 50 years from installation. This longevity eliminates tear-off and disposal costs (ending the landfill cycle), plus the compounding labor, materials, and disruption of multiple re-roofing cycles. Stamford's 63 cm annual snow, 66 freeze-thaw days, and 135 km/h gusts all accelerate asphalt failure; aluminum thrives under these stresses. Current financing includes 0% interest until Spring 2027 or 10% off installation, bringing the effective cost closer to incremental.

Does a metal roof hold up in hail, and can it lower my insurance premium?

Interlock achieves UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and is warranted against perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Class 4 means the roof survives the same impact that damages most asphalt and wood shingles. Many insurers recognize this durability and offer premium discounts for Class 4-rated roofs because claim frequency and severity drop dramatically. Your insurer will want to see the UL listing and warranty documentation; both are available from Interlock Metal Roofing (New England) Inc., the local installer serving the region since 1999. Over a 20-30 year ownership, these discounts compound significantly.

How much maintenance does a metal roof actually need?

Minimal. Aluminum is inert—it doesn't rot, split, curl, or degrade like asphalt, wood, or concrete tile. No algae growth, no moss, no seasonal repairs from freeze-thaw cracking. Stamford's 3115 annual sunshine hours and occasional salt-laden air from coastal systems don't harm the Alunar 70% PVDF finish, which resists fading and chalking for 30 years. Simple annual inspection—clearing gutters and checking fasteners—is sufficient. CALGreen verification confirms Interlock's reduced-maintenance profile. Asphalt roofs, by contrast, require regular inspection for granule loss, curling, and gutter cleaning from shingle debris; wood shingles demand treatment against rot and insects. Metal roofing frees you from this cycle entirely.

Who installs Interlock metal roofing in Stamford, and how long have they been here?

Interlock Metal Roofing (New England) Inc. is your local installer, serving Fairfield County and the broader region since 1999—longer than the product has been manufactured. That tenure means deep familiarity with Stamford's climate conditions: 63 cm annual snowfall, 1251 mm rain, and the coastal freeze-thaw cycles that challenge roofing systems. Their crews understand local building codes (ICC-ES ESR-1790 compliance) and Connecticut's permitting process. They also manage the current promotional financing—0% interest until Spring 2027 or 10% off installation—making this the ideal time to reach out for a consultation or site inspection.
