> We had the pleasure of meeting Jonathan Brown at the Mohegan Sun Home Show and couldn’t pass up the opportunity to tell him how happy we are with our Interlock roof of ~20 years. We constantly receive compliments from people passing by on how beautiful it looks. Most of all, we appreciate the peace of mind it gives us—knowing we’ll never have to replace our roof, thanks to the lifetime warranty and guaranteed protection against leaks.

Review: November 15, 2024 Completion: November 19, 2024

It was a pleasure working with Interlock from beginning to end. The back office was good about setting expectations for job start and duration, delivery of materials (which happened on time) and work to be performed. They were also good about making adjustments to work with trim that needed to be replaced, etc. The crew that did the install and cleanup was very professional and hard working. I am extremely satisfied with the end result and would definitely recommend Interlock! This is actually my second roof, I had one installed on a different property 20 years ago and it has held the test of time with virtually no maintenance.

Salesman was very courteous and polite. Straight forward no hype or fluff. Company kept constant contact, took care of the required building permits. Had the dumpster and materials delivered on time and removed quickly. The crew was phenomenal, polite courteous. Explained everything, and was very conscientious about their work. If the the nail didn't go in the way he liked he pulled it and did it right. Nailing was all done by hand. Roof has been great since no issues and still looks great. Over all very pleased and well worth the money.

Couldn’t have chosen a better product, it’s been 2 years since installation and have absolutely no issues. The house is cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. Speaking of winter it’s only a matter of hours after a snow storm that all the snow slides right off, no more ice dams and ice filled gutters. The installers were awesome had the entire roof done in a day and a half and cleaned up prior to leaving. We love our Interlock roof.

This letter has been a long time in coming. My husband and I had an Interlock Roof installed in November 2009 and have been meaning to tell you how pleased we are with the look of the new roof and the service provided by the installers ~ Nazaar and Vitality. We’ve gotten many questions and compliments from friends, neighbors and passersby. Both our home and detached garage needed to be re-roofed, with both requiring removal of the old roofing material and the installation of plywood before applying the Interlock product. We were originally told that it would take up to 2 weeks for the job to be completed. To our amazement, the job was completed within a week’s time and that included inclement weather! Nazaar and Vitaliy put in very long days, were very polite, honored their commitments and ALWAYS cleaned everything up before they left for the day. We have children and a dog and found not one nail in the yard after the job was completed. Based on this experience and a product that speaks for itself, we would definitely recommend an Interlock Roof!

I wish to thank " target="\_blank" rel="noopener">Interlock Industries, Inc. for a great roofing system. I'm 100% satisfied and it has a clean and beautiful look. It's great! It's wonderful to know the roof never need replacement again. I also wish to thank Bob Allen, Jerry and Paul McAllister for being so helpful in completing the work. I know this " target="\_blank" rel="noopener">roof system was right when we met Bob Allen the first time, he explained everything in detail. Everything he said was correct. The men who did the work were polite and respectiful, and were clean and neat in the work process. Thank you guys. I would recommend an Interlock Roof for every home, or any building and the long term ">cost is less than another roof system.

Sorry I didn’t get this to you sooner, but I just wanted to drop you a line on the excellent installation of my roof by Nazar and Sergei. They installed our roof in February and never let the harsh weather affect their attention to detail and their determination to do quality work. I was very fortunate to get these two Ukrainian gentlemen as my installers.

Review: August 25, 2007 Completion: April 27, 2007

I am writing to tell you how much my wife and I are satisfied with our new roof from Interlock Roofing. Our old asphalt shingles were showing the effects of time both aesthetically and functionally. Most noticeably was the water mark on the living room ceiling that just kept growing with each passing rain. We certainly weren't looking forward to buying a new roof, since we were still paying for our wedding six months before, but knew we had to do something soon. I mentioned to Dawn that I had heard metal roofs were becoming popular because of how long they last; but she was concerned our home would look like a fast food restaurant, a factory, or even worse a tin roof barn. She made it clear that a modern looking metal roof would ruin the look of our 1860s vintage home. I said I thought I had seen a couple of years ago a house that was done with what I thought the sign said was metal but looked like shingles instead of ridged sheets she pictured. The problem was I couldn't remember the name of the roofer – just that they had an orange sign. A friend of our mentioned there was a Home Show coming up in Worchester and we figured it would be fun to look around and dream about improvements we could make. As we walked the aisles, I saw your familiar orange sign and product display booth. I said to Dawn look at this! This looks really nice – it looks just like " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">slate! Wouldn't that look really great on our house! Two weeks later, you explained what made Interlock Roofing different from other materials and the lifetime " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">warranty helped us feel confident in making what was for us a major purchase decision. Although an Interlock roof might cost more initially, we think it is well worth it knowing we will never have to buy another roof for this home again. Your company and crews are great! A representative called to let us know materials were being delivered and when they arrived they were neatly stored out of the way until the work began. A supervisor called to let us know when the work would begin, and except for two days of rain which delayed their start, the job was completed within the estimated three days. At the end of each day, they cleaned up after themselves and when the job was competed they raked up any pieces that may have been missed in the grass. The completed roof looks great and enhances the appearance of our home. We have had many people stop and compliment us on it and at least one had already installed an Interlock roof of their own. Should we ever move from this home in the future, one of the features we will look for is an Interlock roof or plan on upgrading to one in our new home as well.

Review: June 2, 2006 Completion: July 25, 2005

Just wanted to let you know that we are very satisfied with the aluminum interlocking roof which was installed in July of 2005. It was amazing to us how quickly and efficiently your men worked in removing our old asphalt layers of roof and installing the new one. Needless to say, we were very impressed with their work as well as our new roof! Unfortunately, during installation of the roof, damage was done to the interior ceiling of our dining room. Interlock did respond and the damaged area was repaired in a timely manner. Unfortunately our existing ceilings are plaster and the repaired area was done in wallboard which simply do not match. In order for this to be repaired properly, the entire ceiling has to be repainted with a light texture. Whatever you can do to help rectify the pending repair to the interior ceiling would be greatly appreciated. We look forward to speaking with you in the near future. Once again, thank you for offering us the opportunity to upgrade our home with an outstanding roof.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Turn of River

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Turn of River, Connecticut. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Turn of River.

Will a metal roof handle Connecticut's freeze-thaw cycles without cracking or failing?

Yes—aluminum expands and contracts smoothly without cracking because it has no grain structure like wood or brittleness like tile and concrete. Turn of River sees about 66 freeze-thaw days annually, cycling between above and below freezing. Interlock's 3105-H24 aluminum alloy (ASTM B209) is designed for exactly this stress; the four-way interlocking panels move slightly as a system rather than fighting the temperature swings. The Alunar coating (warranted 30 years) doesn't embrittle in cold, so you avoid the splitting and curling that plague asphalt and wood shakes after a decade of Connecticut winters.

How does a metal roof perform with the snow load Turn of River typically gets?

Exceptionally well, because the weight isn't the problem—the roof structure is. Interlock's metal panels weigh roughly 0.41 to 0.59 pounds per square foot depending on profile, meaning about 120 cm of wet snow accumulating on your roof adds far less burden than asphalt shingles would. Most homes don't need structural reinforcement. The smooth, slick surface naturally sheds snow, and the four-way interlocking seams stay watertight even under partial melt and refreezing. If you want snow to stay put (common in areas prone to ice dams), optional snow guards install easily without compromising the panel's UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating.

Why choose aluminum roofing instead of steel, especially near coastal areas?

Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron—steel does. The moment steel is exposed to rain (Turn of River averages about 1251 mm annually) or salt air, iron oxidizes and the corrosion spreads beneath coatings. Aluminum instead forms a thin oxide layer that self-heals when scratched, and it's coated with Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon on both sides, giving you 30 years of chalking and fading protection. Interlock has installed roofs from coastal salt-air homes to Antarctica—the two-sided coating means your panels stay protected even where fastener edges meet the underside. You get permanence without the rust-out risk.

Can a metal roof stay secure through Fairfield County wind gusts?

Yes. Turn of River experiences typical gusts around 135 km/h during storms, and Interlock's four-way interlocking panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed to specification. The interlocking system means each panel is mechanically tied to its neighbors on all four sides—wind that would peel up a shingle edge simply can't find a grip. The panels move as one unified surface rather than as individual units. Installation follows ICC-ES ESR-1790 (the current 2025 reissue), which specifies fastening patterns tested to these loads, so your roof stays put through nor'easters and nor'westers alike.

What's the metal roof's hail rating, and could it lower my insurance premium?

Interlock carries a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. That's the same rating as high-end architectural shingles, but aluminum's rigidity means it rebounds from impacts rather than developing hidden damage that shows up later. Some insurers recognize Class 4 ratings and offer discounts on comprehensive or hail riders. Ask your agent; many do credit non-combustible roofs too. In a region where Connecticut weather includes spring storms, a roof that's proven impact-resistant and covered against hail damage gives you real peace of mind and potentially puts money back in your pocket.

Do I need to reinforce my home's structure to support a metal tile roof?

No reinforcement needed in the vast majority of homes. Interlock's Mediterranean Tile profile weighs about 0.59 pounds per square foot—roughly 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile—so it installs over most existing roofs without structural upgrades. That's the beauty of aluminum: you get the authentic tile look without asking your rafters to support the equivalent of slate. The lightweight panels mean contractors can often install directly over your current shingles, saving you the cost and mess of a tear-off. Since Turn of River houses vary from modest homes to substantial estates, this flexibility matters—your specific roof can be assessed quickly, but most homeowners avoid the expense entirely.

Will a metal roof actually lower my cooling costs in Connecticut?

About 3115 sunshine hours per year hit your roof in Turn of River, and that's where cool coatings matter. energy-efficient Interlock colors with thermal emissivity of 0.84 and solar reflectance up to 0.55 (like Aged Copper Penny) reflect heat that asphalt absorbs and radiates into your attic. That means lower cooling loads on hot summer days. The Cool Roof Rating Council confirms the science: reflective metal roofs cool homes measurably compared to dark asphalt. Over a 50-year lifespan, the energy savings compound, especially if you have air conditioning. You're also reducing peak urban heat, which matters regionally.

How much maintenance does a metal roof really need compared to asphalt or wood?

Virtually none compared to asphalt or wood shakes. Asphalt shingles require moss/algae treatment, nail pop repairs, and regular inspection for wear—especially after 10-15 years in Connecticut's 1251 mm of annual rainfall. Cedar shakes split and curl, needing replacement planks and costly repairs. Interlock's aluminum won't rot, split, crack, or curl (all covered under the lifetime Guardian Warranty). The Alunar coating resists fading and chalking for 30 years. Rain washes the panels clean; gutters still need seasonal attention, but the roof itself is maintenance-free. That's why CALGreen lists metal roofing as verified for reduced maintenance—it's not marketing, it's measurable.

Is metal roofing worth the upfront cost, or is asphalt cheaper over the long run?

Over the roof's life, metal wins financially. Asphalt typically needs replacement every 15-20 years; you'll buy it three times in 50 years, plus removal and disposal fees for each tear-off. Interlock carries a lifetime limited material warranty (non-prorated for the original owner) and is transferable to the next owner for 50 years from completion—one roof covers your ownership and adds value for the buyer. Material cost is higher upfront, but labor isn't, and you eliminate the asphalt-to-landfill cycle. Current financing (no payments, no interest until Spring 2027, or 10% off installation) bridges the gap. Run the math: one new roof versus three asphalt roofs, plus disposal, plus potential repairs between replacements.

Can I get a metal roof that looks like slate, shakes, or tile without compromising performance?

Yes—that's exactly what Interlock profiles do. Choose from Slate, Cedar Shingle, Shake, Standing Seam, or Mediterranean Tile, each replicating authentic materials' texture and dimension while delivering aluminum's durability. The Slate profile suits colonial Connecticut homes; Cedar Shingle and Shake appeal to farmhouse or cottage aesthetics; Mediterranean Tile works for cottages and modern estates; Standing Seam suits contemporary designs. All use the same 3105-H24 aluminum alloy (ASTM B209), same Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon coating (30-year warranty), same four-way interlocking seams, same UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating, and same non-prorated lifetime warranty. You're not trading looks for durability—you get both.
