What our customers are saying:
We love our new roof. We get tons of compliments. the slate style really matches the style of our house (built in 1690). Carefree for life. Overall, they did an exceptional job and were organized and professional. There was some slight mis-communication initially and I'm not sure where the link in the chain was broken, but it appeared someone was mis-instructed on which skylight to take out, either that, or he couldn't read the plans, but I'm not sure. In the end they remedied the problem. Sales person was very knowledgeable and friendly, but be prepared for him to overwhelm you with info (not a bad thing). We couldn't be happier with the product quality and look. Highly recommend this. They also offer financing which was helpful for us. see comments above questions 3 & 4 Best roof ever for quality and look
From our first meeting with Jonathan, who was professional, authentic and knowledgeable about roofing, we've had a wonderful experience with Interlock Roofing. The installation team was clean, courteous and skilled at their job. The best part is snow slides off the roof and no more leaks in the house. Nothing. it was all great. It was great, easy to set up and we love the look of the roof
Located in Dorchester, I chose Interlock Metal Roofing - New England; their Metal Roofing exceeded expectations with clear communication, professional installation, respectful crews, daily cleanup, and a gorgeous, durable roof that’s the talk of the neighborhood—highly recommended.
I've had an Interlock metal roof on my house and garden shed for two years now. It's absolutely gorgeous. Everyone thinks it's a slate roof! I've had no problems with it. The installation was amazing! A crew of 11 showed up early in the morning and were almost completely done in one day on both buildings. They were so professional. I highly recommend Interlock for both their high quality product and their great people.
I just had a brand new Dark Grey Metal Roof by INTERLOCK installed. I found everyone that I dealt with from Jonathan Brown in sales and Jennifer Simons in the office and to the crew that did an excellent job ( they were very hard workers)! I am pleased with the outcome of the roof. It looks wonderful, I would highly recommend interlock to anyone who Is looking for a quality roof and excellent and professional installation.
The work was both of excellent quality and done on time. The worksite was left exceptionally clean. I would recommend Interlock Roofing to anyone looking for a great product and great service.
The work was both of excellent quality and done on time. The worksite was left exceptionally clean. I would recommend Interlock Roofing to anyone looking for a great product and great service.
Just a note about the roof we installed in March of 2003. The first thing that we have to say is that the roof looks wonderful; it’s the best one on the street. A neighbor two houses down the street had a new asphalt roof installed shortly after we had our Interlock Roof installed. The neighbor across the street remarked that our roof looked a lot better than the neighbor's. We have had quite a few neighbors stop and ask about the roof and remark how good it looks. Having the chimney flashed with a solid flashing (instead of step flashing) and the ducts matching the roof really makes the roof look finished off. Also, having them put vents on the back which match the roof looks finished off, so they are not noticeable. As far as the workmen and the quality of workmanship, we feel that it was done very professionally. We asked that they not start working until 8:00 am, and they waited until 8:30 am to start. They kept the grounds very clean even when they were stripping the roof. They hung tarps so nothing could or would damage either the house or any plants which are around the house. They were very friendly and courteous. In closing, we are very pleased with the roof and the professionalism of the workers.
Communication after the job was a bit lacking, when we had a couple of questions about signage left out front. Everything leading up to the project was perfect! We love the look and quality of our new roof. Your process was exceptional, and your staff great to deal with. The job was completed a month ahead of schedule and took half the time that we were expecting. We hope to never have to use the warranty, but should we have to, I’m confident that we will be taken care of. Great job!
My experience with this company was so easy. First I met with my salesman Johnathan Brown. He was so wonderful explaining everything, very friendly . Loved working with him. The workers were very professional ,did a great job and left no mess. Customer service was very easy to ask any questions. Love my new roof and the company I chose to do it
They have a wonderful product and are incredibly knowledgeable. I have nothing to suggest. They are an amazing company. They did an excellent job and my house feels great with the roof and what it has done for the temperatures.
I would recommend the Interlock Roofing System to anybody, my friends and neighbors were impressed by how nice my roof looks. The men that installed the roof were very respectful and courteous. I was shocked by how quickly they were able to install the Interlock Roofing System. Not only do I have a beautiful roof now, I have the " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">warranty and you can transfer it to a new owner if I ever sell the house.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Dionis
The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Dionis, Massachusetts. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Dionis.
How does a metal roof handle Dionis's snow and ice buildup?
Metal roofs shed snow and ice far better than asphalt because the smooth, hard surface prevents adhesion and allows gravity to work. Dionis receives about 62 cm of snow annually, and freeze-thaw cycling occurs roughly 44 days per year—exactly the conditions where metal's non-porous surface prevents the water infiltration that leads to ice dam damage. Interlock's four-way interlocking panels create a unified diaphragm that resists the weight and stress of seasonal snow loading. Snow guards are available if you prefer to retain snow for aesthetic or privacy reasons.
Will freeze-thaw cycles in Massachusetts damage aluminum roofing?
No. Aluminum expands and contracts at a predictable rate, and the metal's oxide layer—which self-heals when scratched—actually becomes more protective through repeated wet-dry and freeze-thaw cycles. Wood shingles crack and curl under the 44 annual freeze-thaw days typical of Nantucket County; asphalt becomes brittle. Interlock's roofing-grade 3105-H24 aluminum alloy (ASTM B209) is engineered for exactly this climate stress. The Guardian lifetime warranty explicitly covers cracking and curling, reflecting the product's proven performance through decades of Massachusetts winters.
Is aluminum roofing safe in a coastal salt-air environment?
Completely safe—aluminum contains no iron, so it cannot rust, even in salt air. Instead, it forms a transparent oxide layer that self-heals when scratched, becoming tougher with exposure. Interlock applies the Alunar® 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish to both sides of every panel (extra protection against coastal salt), warranted 30 years against chalking and fading per ASTM D4214. Steel roofing rusts; painted copper corrodes; aluminum actually improves. Coastal homes from British Columbia to Antarctic research stations prove this material thrives in the harshest salt-air conditions.
Can Interlock metal roofing withstand Dionis's winter gusts?
Yes. Dionis experiences typical daily-max winds around 29 km/h with gusts exceeding 160 km/h. Interlock's four-way interlocking panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed to specification—well above your region's documented gust peaks. The mechanical interlock system prevents uplift and panel separation during extreme weather, whereas asphalt shingles begin to fail around 60–80 mph. Installation to spec by our local crew, Interlock Metal Roofing (New England) Inc., ensures every fastener and overlap is engineered for your coastal exposure.
What happens if hail damages my metal roof?
Interlock carries UL 2218 Class 4—the highest impact rating available—and the Guardian warranty covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Class 4 performance exceeds the hail resistance of asphalt, wood, and most traditional tile. Many homeowners use this rating to negotiate insurance discounts; contact your agent with the ICC-ES report ESR-1790 and UL 2218 Class 4 documentation. In the rare event of damage, a metal panel is simply replaced; asphalt or wood shingles typically require full-section re-roofing. The aluminum's dent resistance is also superior to softer materials.
How much maintenance does a metal roof actually require?
Far less than asphalt, wood, or tile. Dionis receives roughly 1157 mm of rain annually, which naturally cleans the metal surface; no algae or moss grows on aluminum. You will not need to pressure-wash, replace cracked shingles, or treat wood for rot and insects. Asphalt degrades under 3081 annual sunshine hours and requires inspection every 3–5 years; wood shingles split under freeze-thaw stress; clay and concrete tile crack in winter cycles. The Guardian warranty is CALGreen-verified for reduced maintenance. Twice-yearly gutter and flashing inspection suffices for most homes.
Is metal roofing worth the upfront cost compared to asphalt?
Yes, over the roof's life. Asphalt lasts 15–25 years and requires replacement two or three times over your home's lifetime; Interlock delivers a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner, plus a one-time transferable 50-year term for the next owner. When you factor in tear-off disposal, labor, and the compounding cost of multiple asphalt replacements across 50+ years, metal becomes the final roof you buy. The Guardian warranty covers rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and impact loss—risks that burden asphalt owners with ongoing repairs. Current financing: no payments and no interest until Spring 2027, or 10% off installation.
Will a metal roof reduce my cooling costs?
Yes, if you choose an energy-efficient color. Interlock's reflective coatings achieve thermal emissivity up to 0.84 and initial solar reflectance up to 0.55 (Aged Copper Penny profile). These properties reflect heat that dark asphalt absorbs, reducing attic temperature and cooling demand during Dionis's roughly 3081 annual sunshine hours. Cool Roof Rating Council ratings verify the thermal performance. In summer, you will notice lower AC runtime; in winter, the reflective benefit is minimal because the sun's angle is low. The net effect over a full year is meaningful energy savings and a smaller carbon footprint than asphalt alternatives.
Do I need to reinforce my roof structure for a metal roof?
No. Interlock's Slate installs at 0.41 lb/sq ft, Shake at 0.58, and Mediterranean Tile at 0.59—making the Tile profile about 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile. Asphalt shingles weigh roughly 2–3 lb/sq ft; slate tile weighs 7–10 times more. Most homes can support a metal roof over existing shingles without any structural work. This saves thousands in engineering and framing costs. Installation over your current roof also eliminates tear-off labor and landfill tipping fees, further reducing total project cost. The ICC-ES evaluation report ESR-1790 confirms that aluminum roofing distributes weight safely across standard residential framing.
Who installs Interlock roofing in Dionis?
Interlock Metal Roofing (New England) Inc. has served Nantucket County and the surrounding region since 1999. They are factory-trained installers with decades of experience in New England's challenging coastal climate—salt air, heavy snow, freeze-thaw cycles, and nor'easters. Because they have worked here for over two decades, they understand local building codes, permitting timelines, and the specific weather patterns that affect roof performance. Factory backing, local accountability, and a proven track record mean your installation is covered by both the Guardian warranty and a trusted, accessible service partner. Current promotion: no payments and no interest until Spring 2027, or 10% off installation.
Is a metal roof a good choice for Dionis’s climate?
Yes. Dionis averages about 62 cm of snow, 1157 mm of rain, roughly 44 freeze–thaw days a year, with peak wind gusts near 160 km/h. Interlock® aluminum roofing is wind-rated to 193+ km/h (120 mph), UL 2218 Class 4 impact-rated and Class A fire-rated, and its four-way interlocking panels shed snow and resist ice dams and freeze–thaw cracking — all backed by a lifetime limited, transferable warranty.
