What our customers are saying:
We’ve had our roof for about 7 years and have been very pleased with it. Recently, I scheduled gutter cleaning which was complicated by a run of wet weather which makes the roof very slippery. The gutter contractor asked if we had ever considered installing safety anchors. I didn’t know there was such a thing. I called Interlock and Ivan came by to take a look. He quickly determined appropriate locations for the anchors that the gutter cleaners could clip their safety harnesses to and showed me an example of the anchor itself. He also offered to paint them black to make them more inconspicuous on our dark roof. He returned about a week later for the install and afterwards showed us pictures of the anchors from the roof and pointed them out from the ground. Overall very professional, prompt, excellent service.
It was time to replace the old mossy asphalt shingles. Standing seam metal in dark Hunter Green was the way to go. Love it! Demo and install team were friendly really excellent at their jobs.
We love our roof! Interlock was wonderful to work with. Very knowledgable and helpful throughout the whole process. The team that installed were amazing and did amazing work. They cleaned up everything in a timely manner. One feedback I would have is giving more updates on when the project was slated to be started, originally was schedule during our vacation and we didn't know til a few days before we left. Overall we are very please and cant wait to never change our roof again!
Interlock was great. The roof is beautiful and the crew was great to work with. Everyone we met with was kind, skilled and knowledgeable. Mike and Damon even helped us work with insurance some due to a tree falling on our house. Interlock made the overwhelming task of getting a full new roof a little less overwhelming, and we appreciate them so much for that.
Interlock roofing is a fantastic company and the representative, Damon, was incredible. Always there to answer questions in a quick timely manner. I couldn’t be happier. This Aluminum roof will never need to be replaced and it makes my simple home look like a million dollar home. It’s stunning. I chose black slate and it is so beautiful. Such peace of mind too. I would highly recommend this company and its employees. The installation crew were professional and careful and accommodating. Thank You Damon and Interlock Roofing. Love our new roof! We don’t have to worry about replacing it ever again. Positive, Responsiveness, Punctuality, Quality, Professionalism, Services: Roof installation
Beautiful roof, replaced 44-year-old concrete tile. Installers showed up when scheduled, were conscientious and knowledgeable. They were hardworking, even in difficult cold weather. Communication was challenging while waiting our turn, but this was addressed. Ten stars for all of you!PositiveResponsiveness, Punctuality, Quality, Professionalism, ValueServicesRoof installation
My journey with Interlock Roofing began with an email, phone call and some visits with Damon Isbell who is exceptional. He was able to accomadate all my requests for information, as well as make shanges to the project when I wanted to make changes after the initial process. The people I talked with on the phone or via email were pleasant & knowledgable, as was the installation crew led by Victor. I would recommend these people to anyone looking for a lifetime roof. I'd just like to say Thank You to everyone at Interlock Roofing. Everyone I interacted with was pleasant and knowledgeable.
The communication with the salesperson after the sale has been made could have been better, as well as with the installation team prior to the installation. It would have been nice to communicate with the installation manager about the installation before it happened. It would have been nice to have the person in charge check in at some point, and that never happened.
Having more than 1 installer throughout the entire project. Art was great and very safe but if there was an accident or fall and he needed immediate treatment it could have been too late before any one found him. I would feel better and more confident about our Interlock roof if we were given some after installation care FAQ's and a reliable/priority email and/or number to call with any issues. As it is now, I'm not sure who to contact for these things and it makes me worry about having invested in an Interlock roof.
I am very happy with the roof they installed. They should provide more accurate scheduling because my project was delayed for about nine months. We like the product, and everything was great. However, improving the scheduling and making sure the times are more accurate would be better.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Brooklyn
The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Brooklyn, Oregon. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Brooklyn.
How does a metal roof handle Brooklyn's snow and ice buildup?
Metal roofs shed snow and ice more reliably than asphalt because the smooth, hard surface resists adhesion—especially important when Brooklyn averages about 48 cm of snow and experiences roughly 36 freeze-thaw cycles annually. Interlock's four-way interlocking panels and slope-dependent design channel meltwater safely into gutters without ice dam formation. The aluminum's thermal conductivity actually helps: heat from your home gently warms the underside, promoting natural shedding. Optional snow guards preserve gutters and walkways if you prefer controlled release. Unlike asphalt, which becomes brittle in freeze-thaw stress, aluminum flexes without cracking, so repeated seasonal cycling won't degrade your roof.
Will a metal roof rust in the Pacific Northwest's wet climate?
Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron—the element that oxidizes and corrodes. Instead, aluminum instantly develops a protective oxide layer that self-heals when scratched, so it resists degradation even in wet environments like Brooklyn's 1468 mm of annual rainfall. Interlock uses roofing-grade 3105-H24 and 3003-H24 aluminum alloy (ASTM B209) with Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon coating applied to both sides, warranted 30 years against chalking and fading. Steel roofs, by contrast, require paint maintenance and will eventually rust through. Your Interlock roof simply won't corrode, no matter how many rainy winters it endures.
Can a metal roof withstand Brooklyn's wind gusts?
Yes—Interlock roofs are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph, well above Brooklyn's typical gusts (recorded around 116 km/h, or about 72 mph). The four-way interlocking panel design locks each piece to its neighbors, distributing wind load across the entire roof rather than stressing individual fasteners. This means you're not relying on nails alone; the panels themselves form a unified, wind-resistant structure. ICC-ES evaluation report ESR-1790 confirms compliance with current building codes (IBC/IRC, reissued 2025). When storms roll through the Pacific Northwest, your roof won't lift or flutter—it'll stay put.
Do I need to reinforce my home's frame for a metal roof?
No structural reinforcement is needed. Interlock's aluminum panels are extraordinarily light: the Slate profile installs at roughly 0.41 lb/sq ft, and even the Mediterranean Tile—designed to replicate heavy clay or concrete—weighs only about 0.59 lb/sq ft, making it approximately 96% lighter than traditional tile. Most homes in Brooklyn can support this weight without any framing upgrades, and Interlock typically installs directly over your existing roof, eliminating tear-off labor and cost. If you were considering traditional slate or tile, you'd face thousands in structural work; aluminum delivers the same authentic appearance without that burden. Your home's frame remains unchanged.
What's the hail rating, and could my insurance premiums drop?
Interlock achieves UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the Guardian Warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. This superior resilience has prompted some insurers to offer discounts on premiums for metal roofs, particularly in regions prone to hail damage. While Brooklyn averages modest hail risk, the Class 4 rating protects against severe weather anywhere. When you file a claim, having documented Class 4 certification can streamline approval and demonstrate your roof's durability to underwriters. Contact your insurer about potential savings; many recognize metal roofing as a loss-prevention asset.
How much upkeep does an Interlock roof really need?
Interlock requires virtually no maintenance—no annual inspections, no patching, no recoating. Unlike asphalt shingles, which degrade predictably and must be replaced every 15–20 years, or wood shakes, which split and rot, aluminum simply weathers. The Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish resists fading and chalking for 30 years (ASTM D4214 measured), so your roof's color stays true through Brooklyn's ~2957 annual sunshine hours. Occasional gutter cleaning is all you'll do. No algae grows on aluminum, no moss takes hold, no granules wash away. The lifetime limited warranty covers cracking, curling, and splitting—conditions that plague other materials in freeze-thaw cycles like Brooklyn's ~36 per year.
Will heavy rain penetrate a metal roof in Brooklyn's wet climate?
No. Interlock's four-way interlocking panels overlap mechanically; water cannot flow uphill through the locks. With Brooklyn receiving about 1468 mm of rain annually, reliable drainage is non-negotiable, and the panel geometry is engineered so that rain runs downslope directly into gutters. Metal doesn't absorb moisture (unlike asphalt or wood), so even after sustained rainfall, your roof remains dry inside. Installation includes underlayment over solid decking, creating a watertight secondary barrier. The ICC-ES evaluation report ESR-1790 confirms leak protection under heavy rainfall. Thousands of Interlock roofs have performed flawlessly in coastal British Columbia's similarly wet climate since 1998—proof that metal roofing thrives in perpetually damp conditions.
How long does installation take, and can it go over my old roof?
Installation typically completes in 2–5 days, depending on roof size and complexity. Yes, Interlock installs directly over most existing asphalt roofs without tear-off—saving weeks of labor and eliminating disposal costs. The aluminum's light weight (~0.41–0.59 lb/sq ft) means your home's structure can easily support the overlay. Your local installer, Interlock Metal Roofing (PNW) Inc., has served the region since 1997 and understands Brooklyn's climate and building requirements. The process: inspect substrate, install underlayment, measure and snap chalk lines, lock panels together, trim flashing, seal. Unlike asphalt replacement, there's no dumpster, no days of hammering, no complete roof removal. In just days, you'll have a metal roof that will likely outlast your home.
Do reflective metal roofs really cut cooling costs in the PNW?
Yes, in summer months. Interlock's energy-efficient colors reflect rather than absorb solar heat; the Aged Copper Penny finish achieves initial solar reflectance up to 0.55 with thermal emissivity of 0.84, Cool Roof Rating Council rated. While Brooklyn's ~2957 annual sunshine hours and cool mean temperature (11.5°C) mean summer cooling demands are modest compared to hotter regions, every degree you keep out of your attic reduces air-conditioning strain and lowers energy bills. Reflective coatings also extend the life of roof-mounted equipment like HVAC units by preventing heat soak. In shoulder seasons and brief warm spells, a reflective metal roof materially outperforms dark asphalt. Long-term, the energy savings compound—another reason Interlock roofs deliver lifetime value.
Can I get a metal roof that looks like slate, shake, or tile?
Absolutely. Interlock offers five authentic profiles: Slate, Cedar Shingle, Shake, Standing Seam, and Mediterranean Tile. Each replicates traditional materials' texture and shadow lines, so your home retains its architectural character while gaining metal's durability. Slate profile suits contemporary and historic homes; Cedar Shingle and Shake evoke Pacific Northwest charm; Mediterranean Tile brings Old World elegance; Standing Seam offers a modern, clean-lined aesthetic. All are fabricated from the same roofing-grade aluminum with the same Alunar finish and lifetime warranty. Choose the profile that matches your home's style, knowing you've eliminated the vulnerabilities those traditional materials bring: slate cracks in freeze-thaw (Brooklyn averages ~36 annually), cedar rots in perpetual moisture (1468 mm rain/year), tile fractures under hail (UL 2218 Class 4 protection). Beauty and bulletproof durability—together.
Is a metal roof a good choice for Brooklyn’s climate?
Yes. Brooklyn averages about 48 cm of snow, 1468 mm of rain, roughly 36 freeze–thaw days a year, with peak wind gusts near 116 km/h. Interlock® aluminum roofing is wind-rated to 193+ km/h (120 mph), UL 2218 Class 4 impact-rated and Class A fire-rated, and its four-way interlocking panels shed snow and resist ice dams and freeze–thaw cracking — all backed by a lifetime limited, transferable warranty.
