What our customers are saying:
We’ve had our roof for about 7 years and have been very pleased with it. Recently, I scheduled gutter cleaning which was complicated by a run of wet weather which makes the roof very slippery. The gutter contractor asked if we had ever considered installing safety anchors. I didn’t know there was such a thing. I called Interlock and Ivan came by to take a look. He quickly determined appropriate locations for the anchors that the gutter cleaners could clip their safety harnesses to and showed me an example of the anchor itself. He also offered to paint them black to make them more inconspicuous on our dark roof. He returned about a week later for the install and afterwards showed us pictures of the anchors from the roof and pointed them out from the ground. Overall very professional, prompt, excellent service.
It was time to replace the old mossy asphalt shingles. Standing seam metal in dark Hunter Green was the way to go. Love it! Demo and install team were friendly really excellent at their jobs.
We love our roof! Interlock was wonderful to work with. Very knowledgable and helpful throughout the whole process. The team that installed were amazing and did amazing work. They cleaned up everything in a timely manner. One feedback I would have is giving more updates on when the project was slated to be started, originally was schedule during our vacation and we didn't know til a few days before we left. Overall we are very please and cant wait to never change our roof again!
Interlock was great. The roof is beautiful and the crew was great to work with. Everyone we met with was kind, skilled and knowledgeable. Mike and Damon even helped us work with insurance some due to a tree falling on our house. Interlock made the overwhelming task of getting a full new roof a little less overwhelming, and we appreciate them so much for that.
Interlock roofing is a fantastic company and the representative, Damon, was incredible. Always there to answer questions in a quick timely manner. I couldn’t be happier. This Aluminum roof will never need to be replaced and it makes my simple home look like a million dollar home. It’s stunning. I chose black slate and it is so beautiful. Such peace of mind too. I would highly recommend this company and its employees. The installation crew were professional and careful and accommodating. Thank You Damon and Interlock Roofing. Love our new roof! We don’t have to worry about replacing it ever again. Positive, Responsiveness, Punctuality, Quality, Professionalism, Services: Roof installation
Beautiful roof, replaced 44-year-old concrete tile. Installers showed up when scheduled, were conscientious and knowledgeable. They were hardworking, even in difficult cold weather. Communication was challenging while waiting our turn, but this was addressed. Ten stars for all of you!PositiveResponsiveness, Punctuality, Quality, Professionalism, ValueServicesRoof installation
My journey with Interlock Roofing began with an email, phone call and some visits with Damon Isbell who is exceptional. He was able to accomadate all my requests for information, as well as make shanges to the project when I wanted to make changes after the initial process. The people I talked with on the phone or via email were pleasant & knowledgable, as was the installation crew led by Victor. I would recommend these people to anyone looking for a lifetime roof. I'd just like to say Thank You to everyone at Interlock Roofing. Everyone I interacted with was pleasant and knowledgeable.
The communication with the salesperson after the sale has been made could have been better, as well as with the installation team prior to the installation. It would have been nice to communicate with the installation manager about the installation before it happened. It would have been nice to have the person in charge check in at some point, and that never happened.
Having more than 1 installer throughout the entire project. Art was great and very safe but if there was an accident or fall and he needed immediate treatment it could have been too late before any one found him. I would feel better and more confident about our Interlock roof if we were given some after installation care FAQ's and a reliable/priority email and/or number to call with any issues. As it is now, I'm not sure who to contact for these things and it makes me worry about having invested in an Interlock roof.
I am very happy with the roof they installed. They should provide more accurate scheduling because my project was delayed for about nine months. We like the product, and everything was great. However, improving the scheduling and making sure the times are more accurate would be better.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Buckman
The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Buckman, Oregon. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Buckman.
How does a metal roof handle Buckman's snow and ice buildup?
Metal roofs shed snow and ice more effectively than asphalt because the smooth, hard surface provides less friction for snow to stick. Buckman averages about 48 cm of snow yearly, and freeze-thaw cycles occur roughly 36 days per year—conditions that cause asphalt to deteriorate faster. Interlock's four-way interlocking panels, warranted to 120 mph wind, lock securely even when snow load shifts. The lightweight Shake profile at 0.58 lb/sq ft means no structural reinforcement is needed, and optional snow guards can be installed if local building codes require them.
With 1,468 mm of rain annually in Buckman, will a metal roof leak?
No. Metal roofs are inherently leak-resistant because water runs off the interlocking seams rather than being absorbed. Buckman receives about 1,468 mm of rain per year—well above the national average—making a waterproof, non-absorbent material critical. Interlock panels are installed over a solid deck with underlayment, creating a two-stage barrier. The four-way interlocking design means water cannot penetrate the joints. Proper installation by Interlock Metal Roofing (PNW) Inc., serving this region since 1997, ensures gutters and flashings handle the volume without compromise.
Why is aluminum better than steel for a metal roof in a wet climate?
Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron. The material self-oxidizes, forming a protective oxide layer that actually heals itself when scratched—a property called passivation. This matters in Buckman's wet climate, where moisture and the cycle of roughly 36 freeze-thaw days per year accelerate corrosion of steel. Interlock uses roofing-grade 3105-H24 aluminum alloy to ASTM B209 standards, plus a Alunar 70% PVDF coating applied to both sides and warranted 30 years against chalking. The company's panels have been installed from coastal salt-air homes to Antarctica, proving durability in the harshest moisture conditions.
Do metal roofs blow off in high winds?
No. Interlock panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph when installed to specification. Buckman's typical gusts reach about 116 km/h—nearly 72 mph—which is well below that threshold. The four-way interlocking design locks each panel to its neighbors at all four edges, distributing wind load across the entire roof rather than stressing individual fasteners. This locking system passed UL testing and is documented in ICC-ES evaluation ESR-1790. Over 25 years of operation in the Pacific Northwest's variable wind patterns, the system has proven reliable.
Can my house support a metal roof without reinforcement?
Yes, in most cases. Interlock's Mediterranean Tile profile installs at just 0.59 lb/sq ft—about 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile—and the Slate is similarly featherweight. This means the roof often goes directly over existing asphalt shingles without structural work. By contrast, real slate or tile roofing often requires roof framing upgrades. Buckman's building department may require inspection, but the exceptional lightness of aluminum avoids costly reinforcement in the majority of homes. Interlock Metal Roofing (PNW) Inc. assesses your specific structure during the free estimate.
Will my insurance company give me a discount for a metal roof?
Possibly. Many insurers offer discounts for Class 4 impact-rated roofs because they reduce claim frequency. Interlock achieves UL 2218 Class 4—the highest rating available—and the warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. While Buckman's hail risk is lower than inland regions, the high impact rating removes a liability concern from your insurer's perspective. Contact your agent with the UL 2218 Class 4 documentation to discuss discounts. Combined with the non-prorated lifetime limited warranty and 36 freeze-thaw days per year that stress asphalt shingles, the roof's durability may strengthen your premium case.
Does a metal roof reduce cooling costs in summer?
Yes. energy-efficient Interlock colors reflect solar heat rather than absorbing it the way dark asphalt does. The Aged Copper Penny color, for example, has initial solar reflectance of 0.55 and thermal emissivity of 0.84, meaning it bounces heat away while radiating absorbed warmth to the sky. Buckman averages about 2,957 sunshine hours per year, so this reflective advantage compounds across the seasons. The Cool Roof Rating Council rates these colors, confirming measurable cooling savings. A lighter-colored metal roof can reduce attic temperatures by 20-30 degrees Fahrenheit compared to asphalt, lowering air-conditioning runtime and extending HVAC life.
Is a metal roof cheaper than replacing asphalt shingles multiple times?
Over the roof's life, yes. Asphalt shingles last 15-25 years in Buckman's climate of 1,468 mm rain and 36 freeze-thaw cycles annually; you'll replace them at least twice in 50 years. Each replacement involves tear-off, debris disposal, and labor. Interlock's non-prorated lifetime limited warranty covers the original owner indefinitely and transfers once to the next owner for 50 years total. The initial cost is higher, but spreading it across 50+ years, you avoid three asphalt replacements and the compounding labor and waste-disposal costs. Current financing offers no payments and no interest until Spring 2027, making the upfront difference manageable while you recoup savings immediately.
What does the warranty cover and how long does it last?
Interlock's Guardian Warranty is non-prorated and lifetime limited for the original owner—meaning you never pay a percentage of repair costs, whether the roof is 5 years old or 40 years old. It covers rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. When you sell your home, the warranty transfers once, giving the new owner 50 years of coverage from the roof's completion date. This transferability adds resale value because buyers inherit protection. By contrast, asphalt warranties are prorated after the first 10 years and rarely transfer. Buckman's 48 cm of snow and 36 freeze-thaw days each year test roofing durability heavily; the non-prorated structure means you're never penalized for weather stress.
Are metal roofs recyclable?
Yes. Interlock panels are approximately 95% recyclable aluminum. At end of life—whether 50+ years from now or in the distant future—the roof goes back into the aluminum supply chain instead of to a landfill. Asphalt shingles, by contrast, accumulate in landfills; Buckman residents generating roughly 48 cm of snow and 1,468 mm of rain annually experience accelerated shingle degradation, meaning more frequent tear-offs and disposal. Choosing aluminum eliminates this cycle: no tear-off waste, no landfill contribution, and material value at recycling. Interlock has been manufactured in Delta, BC since 1998, supporting a regional circular economy while reducing the environmental footprint of roofing replacements across the Pacific Northwest.
Is a metal roof a good choice for Buckman’s climate?
Yes. Buckman averages about 48 cm of snow, 1468 mm of rain, roughly 36 freeze–thaw days a year, with peak wind gusts near 116 km/h. Interlock® aluminum roofing is wind-rated to 193+ km/h (120 mph), UL 2218 Class 4 impact-rated and Class A fire-rated, and its four-way interlocking panels shed snow and resist ice dams and freeze–thaw cracking — all backed by a lifetime limited, transferable warranty.
