Review: July 15, 2021Completion: October 19, 2020

It has now been nearly six months since our Interlock roof installation, and we couldn't be happier with it. We debated getting a metal roof due to the greater upfront costs relative to a standard composite roof, but we're not planning on going anywhere anytime soon, so the peace-of-mind of a lifetime roof -- knowing we won't have to do this again, and that the company stands behind the product the way they do -- makes it worthwhile. The installation crew was professional, and their customer service has been responsive when needed. Neighbors have commented too on how good our roof looks! Recommended! Review: October 15, 2019Completion: July 13, 2018

We added a beautiful slate Interlock roof to our garage/shop. The temperature difference through the summer has been dramatic. You can go out there and work even if it's 90+ degrees outside (no, we don't have A/C out there). We've been impressed with the product thus far and plan that when our house needs a new roof, we will go with Interlock again to match the garage's roof.Be aware that the price is higher, but you're paying for quality, consistency, and piece of mind. I can't wait to put this roof on our house because I know the upstairs temperature will be greatly reduced and likely we won't have to run our A/C hardly at all since our basement and main floor stay cool anyway. If you are staying in your home or planning to keep it for a long time, Interlock metal roofing should be your first choice. They have all sorts of styles that will fit your home. At least give them a chance to explain and show you why their product is great choice.

We love our roof! Interlock was wonderful to work with. Very knowledgable and helpful throughout the whole process. The team that installed were amazing and did amazing work. They cleaned up everything in a timely manner. One feedback I would have is giving more updates on when the project was slated to be started.

We are very happy with our new roof and the entire process, the materials, and the results. We were especially pleased with the folks who work for the company: all ( salesfolk and install crew) were really nice, professional, and did a great job! And regarding Peter and Art, who installed our roof, even our neighbors commented on how much they liked them. We had a very good experience, and won't hesitate to refer folks. Thank You Interlock. Review: August 21, 2026Completion: July 23, 2026

Our new metal roof looks really nice, and our attic has been repaired and now has proper venting. The only unexpected issue is kind of cute. Baby crows like using it as a slide, but the noise is minimal. Rain sounds nice and soothing on it. Even hail isn’t too loud. To me, it’s nice to know the moment it starts raining now. Our 2 roof installers were kind and professional. We didn’t get the warning calls we needed in order to know when they would show up, so that needs improvement, whether it should come from them or the office. They finished the whole job in less time than expected even though there were additional repairs that needed to take place. We only got one section of gutter replaced and they matched it so well to our existing gutters that I don’t think anyone would be able to tell the difference. The mess outside was cleaned up very well. I think the only debris I found were small and fell out of plants weeks after they left. My plants were all unharmed too! The mess in the attic was pretty bad, so it would be worth it to add attic cleanup to your scope. Patrick, who we created the plan with was very knowledgeable and readily available to answer all of our questions. He was nice and showed no signs of annoyance with our fairly constant need for additional info. Other than the few minimal issues mentioned, it was an easy process, efficient, and we’re happy with the results.

Review: September 7, 2020Completion: August 11, 2020

Interlock Roofing did a very nice job putting the roof on. The folks who worked on the roof were very courteous and were very hardworking. I even got a compliment from a neighbor about the crew and that they were hardworkers. It's the cleanest myself or my neighbors have ever seen that amount of debri put where it should have been. They were top notch and left a great impression. I am still waiting on my receipt and warranty. Also, I want to see how the roof handles in wet weather.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Goose Hollow

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Goose Hollow, Oregon. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Goose Hollow.

How does a metal roof handle snow and ice in Goose Hollow's winters?

Metal roofs shed snow and ice far more effectively than asphalt because aluminum's smooth surface resists ice adhesion, and the lightweight panels (Shake profile at just 0.58 lb/sq ft) carry no structural risk even under Goose Hollow's average 48 cm annual snowfall. The four-way interlocking design seals panels against water infiltration during thaw cycles—critical during your region's 36 freeze-thaw days per year. You can add snow guards to any profile if you prefer controlled shedding rather than slides.

Why don't aluminum metal roofs rust like steel ones, especially in rainy Oregon?

Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron; instead, it forms a thin, self-healing oxide layer that protects the metal beneath. Even when scratched, this layer repairs itself automatically—a huge advantage in Goose Hollow's wet climate with 1468 mm of annual rainfall. The Alunar 70% PVDF coating on both sides (warranted 30 years against chalking) adds another barrier. This combination means your roof remains structurally sound for decades without the corrosion problems that plague steel alternatives.

Is a metal roof a better investment than asphalt shingles over time?

An Interlock metal roof costs more upfront than asphalt, but you're buying your last roof: the lifetime limited warranty covers material defects, and a single transfer extends protection 50 years from completion for the next owner. Over a typical 50-60 year lifespan, that's one installation versus 3-4 asphalt replacements, each generating landfill waste and labor costs. Goose Hollow's high moisture (1468 mm rain/year, 36 freeze-thaw cycles) accelerates asphalt degradation; metal's durability in these conditions pays for itself in avoided tear-offs and repairs.

Will a metal roof stay secure during Goose Hollow's wind storms?

Yes—the four-way interlocking aluminum panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h), far beyond Goose Hollow's typical gust speeds of 116 km/h. The interlocking design means each panel is mechanically fastened to the next, distributing uplift forces across the entire roof rather than concentrating stress on individual fasteners. This engineering, verified under ICC-ES ESR-1790, gives you confidence during the Pacific Northwest's windiest days.

Can a metal roof withstand hail, and will my insurance recognize that?

Interlock metal roofing carries a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Class 4 impact resistance often qualifies homeowners for insurance discounts because the roof is demonstrably resistant to damage that would devastate asphalt or wood. Contact your insurer with the UL rating; many carriers in Oregon offer premium reductions for Class 4 rated roofs, offsetting a portion of your installation cost.

Does a metal roof help lower cooling costs in summer?

energy-efficient Interlock colors reflect sunlight rather than absorbing it the way dark asphalt does. Cool Roof Rating Council-rated profiles achieve initial solar reflectance up to 0.55 and thermal emissivity of 0.84—meaning you radiate absorbed heat away rather than storing it. Goose Hollow's 2957 annual sunshine hours make this reflectivity meaningful. While your primary savings come from avoiding heat buildup in warmer months, this reflective advantage compounds over decades of exposure.

What does Interlock's lifetime warranty actually cover?

The Guardian Warranty is a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for you as the original owner, covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. It's transferable once: the next owner receives 50 years of protection from completion. Non-prorated means you're covered fully, not on a declining scale. Combined with the Alunar coating's 30-year guarantee against fade and chalk (measured to ASTM D4214 standards), you have two distinct layers of assurance that your investment is protected.

Can I install a metal tile roof over my existing roof without reinforcing the structure?

Yes, because aluminum tile is about 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile. The Mediterranean Tile profile installs at roughly 0.59 lb/sq ft—so light that no structural reinforcement is needed, and most homes can support it directly over an existing roof. This matters in Goose Hollow, where labor costs and weather delays from roof decking work compound project timelines. You gain the authentic tile aesthetic, design flexibility, and permanence without the structural headaches and expense of traditional tile installation.

How long does installation take, and can it be done over my current roof?

Installation timelines depend on roof size and complexity, but your local installer, Interlock Metal Roofing (PNW) Inc., has served the region since 1997 and can advise on your specific home. The lightweight aluminum panels often install directly over existing asphalt, avoiding tear-off labor and waste—a major schedule advantage, especially in Goose Hollow's rainy season (1468 mm annually). Ask about current financing: no payments and no interest until Spring 2027, or 10% off installation, making the project more affordable to schedule when it works for you.

Is a metal roof better for the environment than asphalt?

Aluminum is approximately 95% recyclable; when your roof eventually reaches end-of-life, it enters the recycling stream rather than a landfill. Asphalt shingles, by contrast, generate millions of tons of landfill waste annually because they're difficult to recycle. Over a typical 50-60 year lifespan, one metal roof avoids 3-4 asphalt tear-offs—eliminating waste, fuel emissions from hauling, and the mining of new petroleum. Goose Hollow's rainy climate accelerates asphalt decay, making the environmental case for aluminum even stronger in your region.

Is a metal roof a good choice for Goose Hollow’s climate?

Yes. Goose Hollow averages about 48 cm of snow, 1468 mm of rain, roughly 36 freeze–thaw days a year, with peak wind gusts near 116 km/h. Interlock® aluminum roofing is wind-rated to 193+ km/h (120 mph), UL 2218 Class 4 impact-rated and Class A fire-rated, and its four-way interlocking panels shed snow and resist ice dams and freeze–thaw cracking — all backed by a lifetime limited, transferable warranty.
