| Fire rating: Class A (with proper assembly) | Wildfire, embers, radiant heat, chimney sparks: non-combustible roof assembly provides the highest residential fire protection rating. |
| Hail resistance: UL 2218 Class 4 | Hail and impact debris: highest impact classification; resists cracking, splitting, and surface loss common with asphalt under hail strikes. |

What our customers are saying:
We’ve had our roof for about 7 years and have been very pleased with it. Recently, I scheduled gutter cleaning which was complicated by a run of wet weather which makes the roof very slippery. The gutter contractor asked if we had ever considered installing safety anchors. I didn’t know there was such a thing. I called Interlock and Ivan came by to take a look. He quickly determined appropriate locations for the anchors that the gutter cleaners could clip their safety harnesses to and showed me an example of the anchor itself. He also offered to paint them black to make them more inconspicuous on our dark roof. He returned about a week later for the install and afterwards showed us pictures of the anchors from the roof and pointed them out from the ground. Overall very professional, prompt, excellent service.
It was time to replace the old mossy asphalt shingles. Standing seam metal in dark Hunter Green was the way to go. Love it! Demo and install team were friendly really excellent at their jobs.
We love our roof! Interlock was wonderful to work with. Very knowledgable and helpful throughout the whole process. The team that installed were amazing and did amazing work. They cleaned up everything in a timely manner. One feedback I would have is giving more updates on when the project was slated to be started, originally was schedule during our vacation and we didn't know til a few days before we left. Overall we are very please and cant wait to never change our roof again!
Interlock was great. The roof is beautiful and the crew was great to work with. Everyone we met with was kind, skilled and knowledgeable. Mike and Damon even helped us work with insurance some due to a tree falling on our house. Interlock made the overwhelming task of getting a full new roof a little less overwhelming, and we appreciate them so much for that.
Interlock roofing is a fantastic company and the representative, Damon, was incredible. Always there to answer questions in a quick timely manner. I couldn’t be happier. This Aluminum roof will never need to be replaced and it makes my simple home look like a million dollar home. It’s stunning. I chose black slate and it is so beautiful. Such peace of mind too. I would highly recommend this company and its employees. The installation crew were professional and careful and accommodating. Thank You Damon and Interlock Roofing. Love our new roof! We don’t have to worry about replacing it ever again. Positive, Responsiveness, Punctuality, Quality, Professionalism, Services: Roof installation
Beautiful roof, replaced 44-year-old concrete tile. Installers showed up when scheduled, were conscientious and knowledgeable. They were hardworking, even in difficult cold weather. Communication was challenging while waiting our turn, but this was addressed. Ten stars for all of you!PositiveResponsiveness, Punctuality, Quality, Professionalism, ValueServicesRoof installation
My journey with Interlock Roofing began with an email, phone call and some visits with Damon Isbell who is exceptional. He was able to accomadate all my requests for information, as well as make shanges to the project when I wanted to make changes after the initial process. The people I talked with on the phone or via email were pleasant & knowledgable, as was the installation crew led by Victor. I would recommend these people to anyone looking for a lifetime roof. I'd just like to say Thank You to everyone at Interlock Roofing. Everyone I interacted with was pleasant and knowledgeable.
The communication with the salesperson after the sale has been made could have been better, as well as with the installation team prior to the installation. It would have been nice to communicate with the installation manager about the installation before it happened. It would have been nice to have the person in charge check in at some point, and that never happened.
Having more than 1 installer throughout the entire project. Art was great and very safe but if there was an accident or fall and he needed immediate treatment it could have been too late before any one found him. I would feel better and more confident about our Interlock roof if we were given some after installation care FAQ's and a reliable/priority email and/or number to call with any issues. As it is now, I'm not sure who to contact for these things and it makes me worry about having invested in an Interlock roof.
I am very happy with the roof they installed. They should provide more accurate scheduling because my project was delayed for about nine months. We like the product, and everything was great. However, improving the scheduling and making sure the times are more accurate would be better.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Hillsdale
The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Hillsdale, Oregon. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Hillsdale.
How does a metal roof handle Hillsdale's snow and ice buildup?
Interlock's four-way interlocking aluminum panels shed snow efficiently because the smooth surface resists ice adhesion and the lightweight design—around 0.41 lb/sq ft for the Shingle profile—requires zero structural reinforcement even in heavy snow years. Hillsdale averages about 48 cm of snow annually across roughly 36 freeze-thaw days, creating ideal conditions for a low-profile metal roof that won't trap meltwater. You can add snow guards if desired, but the sloped design naturally sheds rather than accumulates.
Will a metal roof rust in Oregon's wet climate?
No. Interlock roofs use roofing-grade 3105-H24 aluminum alloy, which contains no iron and therefore cannot rust—even in Hillsdale's 1468 mm of annual rainfall. Aluminum develops a transparent oxide layer that self-heals when scratched, protecting the core indefinitely. The Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish on both sides adds a 30-year warranty against chalking and fading, giving you two independent layers of corrosion defense in a high-moisture environment.
Can a metal roof withstand Hillsdale's wind gusts?
Yes. Interlock panels are warranted to resist sustained winds up to 120 mph when installed to specification, well above the typical 116 km/h gusts Hillsdale experiences. The four-way interlocking design locks each panel to its neighbors on all edges, distributing wind load across the entire roof assembly rather than concentrating stress on individual fasteners. This proven interlocking geometry has secured installations from coastal salt-air homes to an Antarctic research station since 1998.
Does a metal roof hold up to hail, and can I get an insurance discount?
Interlock achieves UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the warranty covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Many insurers offer discounts for Class 4 impact resistance. Because aluminum's resilience and durability reduce claim frequency, contact your agent with Interlock's ICC-ES evaluation report ESR-1790 and UL 2218 certification to discuss available savings in your area.
Can a metal roof actually reduce cooling costs in Oregon?
Interlock's energy-efficient colors reflect significant solar heat rather than absorb it like asphalt shingles do. Rated colors achieve thermal emissivity of 0.84 and initial solar reflectance up to 0.55, which directly lowers cooling demand during Hillsdale's 2957 annual sunshine hours. Cool Roof Rating Council certification confirms the heat-reflection benefit. Over a 50-year lifespan, the energy savings compound substantially and improve your home's resale appeal to buyers focused on utility costs.
How does the interlocking design prevent leaks in heavy rain?
Water cannot penetrate four-way interlocking seams because each panel overlaps its neighbors on all four edges—top, bottom, left, and right—creating a labyrinth that sheds water downslope. Hillsdale receives about 1468 mm of rain annually, testing any roof's integrity. When installed over solid decking with underlayment and to spec, Interlock's mechanical overlap system (verified in ICC-ES ESR-1790) handles any rainfall rate without relying on sealants that degrade over time.
Can you install a metal roof over my existing shingles in Hillsdale?
Yes. Interlock's extraordinary light weight—the Mediterranean Tile profile is about 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile—means most existing roof structures can support a new Interlock installation without reinforcement. Your local installer, Interlock Metal Roofing (PNW) Inc., has served the region since 1997 and can evaluate your existing deck during a site visit. Installing over existing materials eliminates tear-off labor and landfill costs, accelerating your timeline and reducing disruption.
What warranty comes with an Interlock metal roof?
The Guardian is a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner, covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. It's transferable once to the next owner, who receives a 50-year term from completion—a substantial advantage when selling. Combined with the 30-year Alunar coating warranty (ASTM D4214/D2244) and UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating, you're protected across every failure mode for decades.
Is a metal roof more environmentally responsible than asphalt?
Interlock aluminum is approximately 95% recyclable at end of life, eliminating the asphalt tear-off-to-landfill cycle that costs money and environmental resources. Manufactured in Delta, BC since 1998, each panel can be melted and reformed infinitely without degradation. Given Hillsdale's 1468 mm annual rainfall and 36 freeze-thaw days, asphalt shingles typically fail in 15-20 years, but Interlock lasts 50+ years with a single installation, dramatically reducing material consumption over time.
What architectural styles can an Interlock metal roof replicate?
Interlock offers five profiles: Slate, Cedar Shingle, Shake, Mediterranean Tile, and Standing Seam, each manufactured from the same roofing-grade aluminum. The Slate profile suits modern and traditional homes, Cedar Shingle and Shake appeal to classic designs, Tile complements Mediterranean and Spanish colonial aesthetics, and Standing Seam works for contemporary or industrial looks. All profiles carry identical durability—ICC-ES ESR-1790, UL 2218 Class 4, 120 mph wind warranty—so your choice is purely architectural, not a durability trade-off.
Is a metal roof a good choice for Hillsdale’s climate?
Yes. Hillsdale averages about 48 cm of snow, 1468 mm of rain, roughly 36 freeze–thaw days a year, with peak wind gusts near 116 km/h. Interlock® aluminum roofing is wind-rated to 193+ km/h (120 mph), UL 2218 Class 4 impact-rated and Class A fire-rated, and its four-way interlocking panels shed snow and resist ice dams and freeze–thaw cracking — all backed by a lifetime limited, transferable warranty.
