Review: July 15, 2021Completion: October 19, 2020

It has now been nearly six months since our Interlock roof installation, and we couldn't be happier with it. We debated getting a metal roof due to the greater upfront costs relative to a standard composite roof, but we're not planning on going anywhere anytime soon, so the peace-of-mind of a lifetime roof -- knowing we won't have to do this again, and that the company stands behind the product the way they do -- makes it worthwhile. The installation crew was professional, and their customer service has been responsive when needed. Neighbors have commented too on how good our roof looks! Recommended! Review: October 15, 2019Completion: July 13, 2018

We added a beautiful slate Interlock roof to our garage/shop. The temperature difference through the summer has been dramatic. You can go out there and work even if it's 90+ degrees outside (no, we don't have A/C out there). We've been impressed with the product thus far and plan that when our house needs a new roof, we will go with Interlock again to match the garage's roof.Be aware that the price is higher, but you're paying for quality, consistency, and piece of mind. I can't wait to put this roof on our house because I know the upstairs temperature will be greatly reduced and likely we won't have to run our A/C hardly at all since our basement and main floor stay cool anyway. If you are staying in your home or planning to keep it for a long time, Interlock metal roofing should be your first choice. They have all sorts of styles that will fit your home. At least give them a chance to explain and show you why their product is great choice.

We love our roof! Interlock was wonderful to work with. Very knowledgable and helpful throughout the whole process. The team that installed were amazing and did amazing work. They cleaned up everything in a timely manner. One feedback I would have is giving more updates on when the project was slated to be started.

We are very happy with our new roof and the entire process, the materials, and the results. We were especially pleased with the folks who work for the company: all ( salesfolk and install crew) were really nice, professional, and did a great job! And regarding Peter and Art, who installed our roof, even our neighbors commented on how much they liked them. We had a very good experience, and won't hesitate to refer folks. Thank You Interlock. Review: August 21, 2026Completion: July 23, 2026

Our new metal roof looks really nice, and our attic has been repaired and now has proper venting. The only unexpected issue is kind of cute. Baby crows like using it as a slide, but the noise is minimal. Rain sounds nice and soothing on it. Even hail isn’t too loud. To me, it’s nice to know the moment it starts raining now. Our 2 roof installers were kind and professional. We didn’t get the warning calls we needed in order to know when they would show up, so that needs improvement, whether it should come from them or the office. They finished the whole job in less time than expected even though there were additional repairs that needed to take place. We only got one section of gutter replaced and they matched it so well to our existing gutters that I don’t think anyone would be able to tell the difference. The mess outside was cleaned up very well. I think the only debris I found were small and fell out of plants weeks after they left. My plants were all unharmed too! The mess in the attic was pretty bad, so it would be worth it to add attic cleanup to your scope. Patrick, who we created the plan with was very knowledgeable and readily available to answer all of our questions. He was nice and showed no signs of annoyance with our fairly constant need for additional info. Other than the few minimal issues mentioned, it was an easy process, efficient, and we’re happy with the results.

Interlock Roofing did a very nice job putting the roof on. The folks who worked on the roof were very courteous and were very hardworking. I even got a compliment from a neighbor about the crew and that they were hardworkers. It's the cleanest myself or my neighbors have ever seen that amount of debri put where it should have been. They were top notch and left a great impression. I am still waiting on my receipt and warranty. Also, I want to see how the roof handles in wet weather.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Maplewood

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Maplewood, Oregon. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Maplewood.

Will a metal roof handle Maplewood's snow load without ice dams?

Yes. Maplewood receives about 48 cm of snow annually, and aluminum panels shed snow efficiently because they're smooth and lightweight—the Shake profile weighs just 0.58 lb/sq ft, so no structural reinforcement is needed. The four-way interlocking design sheds meltwater cleanly, preventing the standing water that causes ice dams in winter's 36 freeze-thaw days. Snow guards are available if you want to manage runoff gradually, but the roof itself won't trap moisture or ice the way asphalt or wood can.

Does Maplewood's 1,468 mm of annual rain pose a leak risk with metal roofing?

No—aluminum's four-way interlocking panels create a watertight seal specifically designed for high-rainfall regions. The Guardian Warranty covers water infiltration, and the ICC-ES ESR-1790 evaluation certifies the system for heavy precipitation under IBC and IRC codes. Maplewood's wet climate is exactly why metal roofing has replaced asphalt in the Pacific Northwest: the panels overlap and lock, so water runs off cleanly. Paired with professional installation by Interlock Metal Roofing (PNW) Inc., you get industry-leading leak protection rated for sustained wet weather.

Can an aluminum metal roof withstand Maplewood's windstorms and gusts up to 116 km/h?

Absolutely. Interlock panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed to specification—exceeding Maplewood's typical gust conditions. The four-way interlocking design distributes wind load across panels, so there's no lifting or separation. UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating confirms the system's structural integrity. With gusts averaging around 116 km/h in your region, an Interlock roof provides confident protection without worry about seasonal storms.

Why does aluminum never rust, and why does that matter in Oregon's wet climate?

Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron—the element that oxidizes and corrodes. Instead, aluminum develops a thin, transparent oxide layer that actually protects the metal underneath. If that layer is scratched, it self-heals naturally. In Maplewood's damp 1,468 mm rainfall and freeze-thaw cycles, this is critical: steel roofing requires paint or coatings to prevent rust, and those fail. Aluminum's protection is permanent and chemistry-based. The Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish on both sides adds a 30-year warranty against chalking, so your roof ages beautifully without degrading.

Does Interlock's hail rating help with homeowner's insurance costs in Oregon?

The UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—means your Interlock roof withstands hail the size of golf balls, and the warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. While Maplewood's climate data doesn't flag extreme hail, the Class 4 rating often qualifies homeowners for insurance discounts on their premiums. Check with your carrier: some insurers reduce deductibles or offer credits for non-combustible, high-impact-rated roofing. Combined with the lifetime limited warranty, that resilience translates to real savings over decades.

Can an aluminum roof actually reduce cooling costs in a place like Maplewood?

Yes. Maplewood averages about 2,957 sunshine hours annually, and energy-efficient Interlock colors reflect heat rather than absorb it, with initial solar reflectance up to 0.55 and thermal emissivity of 0.84. That means less heat transferred into your attic during sunny days, lowering cooling demand even in Oregon's mild climate. The Cool Roof Rating Council certification confirms the benefit. Asphalt absorbs and radiates that heat; aluminum bounces it back. Over a 30+ year lifespan, the cumulative savings on HVAC work justify the upfront cost.

What makes Interlock's warranty actually lifetime, and is it really transferable?

The Guardian Warranty is a non-prorated lifetime limited material warranty for the original owner—meaning no deductible, no percentage reduction over time. It covers rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance for as long as you own the home. It's also one-time transferable to the next owner, who receives 50 years of coverage from the completion date. That two-generational protection reflects aluminum's true durability: a roof installed today could still perform flawlessly when you sell. No asphalt or wood competitor offers that security.

Is an aluminum metal roof really cheaper than replacing asphalt every 15-20 years?

Yes. Asphalt shingles last 15–20 years in Maplewood's climate of 1,468 mm rain and 36 freeze-thaw days; you'll replace them 2–3 times before an Interlock roof needs replacement. Over 60 years, that's three tear-offs to the landfill, three installation cycles, and compounding labor costs. Aluminum costs more upfront but lasts 50+ years with zero replacement. The current regional promotion—no payments, no interest until Spring 2027, or 10% off installation—shrinks the gap further. Spread the cost over the actual service life, and Interlock is the last roof you buy.

Can I get the look of slate, cedar shake, or tile without the weight and maintenance headaches?

Completely. Interlock offers five profiles—Slate, Cedar Shingle, Shake, Standing Seam, and Mediterranean Tile—each replicating the aesthetic in durable aluminum. The Tile profile, for example, weighs about 96% less than concrete or clay tile, so no structural reinforcement is required and it installs directly over most existing roofs. Cedar Shingle captures wood's warmth at 0.41 lb/sq ft. All profiles are finished with Alunar 70% PVDF coating that resists fading and chalking for 30 years, eliminating the periodic staining and repair cycles of real wood, slate, or clay.

Is aluminum roofing actually recyclable, or is it just another roof in a landfill?

Aluminum is about 95% recyclable at end-of-life, and the recycling process uses just 5% of the energy required to produce new aluminum. Asphalt shingles, by contrast, are torn off and sent to landfills—Maplewood's wet climate means you'll replace them multiple times in a lifetime. Interlock breaks that cycle: one installation lasts 50+ years, and when it eventually does reach end-of-life, it goes to a metal recycler, not a dump. From manufacturing in Delta, BC, to installation and eventual recovery, aluminum roofing aligns with a circular economy. That sustainability isn't marketing—it's chemistry and logistics that reduce your home's environmental footprint.

Is a metal roof a good choice for Maplewood’s climate?

Yes. Maplewood averages about 48 cm of snow, 1468 mm of rain, roughly 36 freeze–thaw days a year, with peak wind gusts near 116 km/h. Interlock® aluminum roofing is wind-rated to 193+ km/h (120 mph), UL 2218 Class 4 impact-rated and Class A fire-rated, and its four-way interlocking panels shed snow and resist ice dams and freeze–thaw cracking — all backed by a lifetime limited, transferable warranty.
