What our customers are saying:
I love my Interlock roof! No more climbing up to clean it, and no more gritty debris falling into my garden after a few years. It looks fantastic and performs exactly as it should. The installers were excellent—knowledgeable, detail-oriented, and personable. Ivan is a gem! He handled a small flashing addition efficiently and cleaned the entire roof with a blower in no time. After almost ten years, it’s still the only roof I would choose.
Our 18 year house needed something. A local roofer suggested a$ 5 K, roof treatment with yearly treatment of $1000. And a roof replacement with shingles at 60K. We looked into Interlock. I was impressed with the product and the absence of middlemen between installation. And quality if the product. The investment was significantly higher but we were impressed and felt it would be the best choice. The crew was polite and professional. They cleaned up every day as promised As you can see from the picture the roof is beautiful Positive: Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, Responsiveness, Value Service: Roof installation
I love my Interlock Metal Roof! It makes my whole house look more beautiful. I was so impressed by how quickly and efficiently the roof was installed. It will be a while before I retire, but when I do I want to spend my time and money on travel and other fun things. I am so glad I never have to worry about re-roofing then or ever again! Not only that, but my roof will be just as beautiful then as it is now. If you are thinking about re-roofing, give Interlock a look.
As a retired civil engineer I bought the roof for seismic purposes. The existing asphalt roof weighed over nine thousand pounds (8 1/2 tons). This one weighs about 800. That's like taking two full sized pickup trucks off the top of your house. The interesting part has been temperature. The aluminum dropped the summer temperatures in the house dramatically. The attic cools very quickly after the sun drops. Yes, even in black. Aluminum, regardless of he color does not store heat. This is not only a beautiful roof but it was very nicely installed by two guys that really cared about what they were doing.

From the ordering process that began in January to the actual installation of the roof in November, the communication could have been better. The charcoal gray "slate" roof was installed a few days ago, and we just had a tremendous rain storm; the roof did amazing. The workers who showed up were fast and professional and finished the job in 3 days. After they were done, they did a thorough site cleaning. The roof was definitely more costly than a conventional shingle roof and took some extra effort and delay to get scheduled, but we believe it was well worth it.
INCREDIBLE experience from start to finish. From the moment we met with Damon and Mike, through the contract and purchase process, into scheduling and installation - we have had an amazing experience. The product and service are ABSOLUTELY worth the investment. We LOVE our new roof and give Interlocking Roof our highest recommendation. Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Tampico
The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Tampico, Oregon. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Tampico.
How does a metal roof handle Tampico's annual snowfall and freeze-thaw cycles?
Metal roofing sheds snow efficiently because aluminum's smooth, hard surface prevents ice dam formation—critical in Tampico, where about 116 cm of snow falls annually alongside roughly 120 freeze-thaw days. Unlike asphalt, which absorbs moisture and degrades faster through thaw cycles, aluminum is inert; its oxide layer doesn't break down with repeated freezing. Interlock panels are warranted to 120 mph wind gusts, so heavy snow loads won't shift them, and the four-way interlocking design keeps panels locked even when thermal expansion and contraction occur. Snow guards are optional if you prefer controlled sliding.
Why does aluminum roofing never rust like steel, and what does that mean for my home?
Aluminum contains no iron, so it cannot rust—period. Instead, it develops a thin, invisible oxide layer that self-heals when scratched or exposed. In Tampico's wet climate (214 mm rain annually, frequent wind gusts to 100 km/h), this matters: steel roofs corrode from the inside out, especially under fasteners and seams. Interlock uses roofing-grade 3105-H24 aluminum with a 30-year Alunar fluorocarbon coating on both sides, doubling protection against salt-air exposure and weathering. You'll never replace fasteners due to rust or deal with interior leaks from corroded seams—the material's chemistry handles Tampico's conditions without maintenance.
Does freeze-thaw cycling damage aluminum metal roofs over time?
No. Freeze-thaw cycling—Tampico experiences about 120 freeze-thaw days annually—damages materials that absorb and hold water (asphalt, wood, concrete). Aluminum neither absorbs water nor expands significantly when frozen, so repeated cycles don't weaken it. The four-way interlocking panels accommodate thermal expansion without stress, and the coating (warranted 30 years against chalking and fading per ASTM standards) remains intact. Meanwhile, asphalt shingles curl and crack, wood shake splits, and concrete tiles spall—all accelerated by thaw cycles. Interlock's aluminum handles Tampico's climate pattern without degradation.
Can a metal roof withstand Tampico's wind gusts and severe weather?
Yes. Interlock's four-way interlocking aluminum panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph when installed to specification—well above Tampico's typical gust speeds of around 100 km/h (62 mph). The panels lock on all four sides, creating a unified system that doesn't lift or separate like shingles. Each profile (Slate, Cedar Shingle, Shake, Tile, Standing Seam) is engineered to this same standard. ICC-ES evaluation report ESR-1790 confirms compliance with IBC/IRC wind and impact requirements. The lightweight design (Shingle at 0.41 lb/sq ft) reduces uplift forces, and the interlocking geometry distributes wind load across the entire roof structure—you won't experience the localized failures that plague single-nail shingles.
What is Interlock's hail rating, and could it lower my insurance costs?
Interlock achieves UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and is even warranted against perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. This non-combustible aluminum construction often qualifies homeowners for insurance discounts; contact your carrier with the product spec sheet and ICC-ES ESR-1790 evaluation. Concrete and clay tiles typically max out at Class 3, asphalt at Class 2 or lower. Tampico's climate data doesn't flag extreme hail, but the Class 4 rating provides comprehensive protection. Because aluminum's hardness resists denting better than softer metals, and the four-way interlock prevents water infiltration if a panel is struck, you avoid the hidden damage that makes insurance claims complex.
Interlock's energy-efficient colors reflect solar heat rather than absorbing it—critical in Tampico's 3,561 sunshine hours annually. Reflectance values reach 0.55 for lighter finishes (Aged Copper Penny), while thermal emissivity is 0.84, meaning the roof absorbs less heat and re-emits it faster than dark asphalt. Over a 25-year lifespan, this compounds: less heat entering the attic in summer reduces air-conditioning load. The exact savings depend on your HVAC system and usage, but Cool Roof Rating Council data shows metal roofs outperform asphalt by 8–15% in heating/cooling efficiency. For Tampico's mixed climate, this translates to lower summer cooling costs and stable winter heating (no unexpected dark-roof heat loss in cloudy months).
What's the difference in cooling costs between a metal roof and asphalt shingles?
Do I need to reinforce my roof structure to install metal roofing?
No. Interlock's aluminum is extraordinarily light: the Mediterranean Tile profile installs at just 0.59 lb/sq ft—approximately 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile, the heaviest roofing material. Most homes' existing roof structure (trusses, rafters) are already engineered for conventional asphalt shingles at 2–3 lb/sq ft, so aluminum roofing adds minimal load. This means Interlock typically installs directly over your existing roof—no tear-off, no structural work, no added cost. The lightweight design also reduces labor time and fastening requirements. In Tampico's climate, where about 116 cm of snow falls annually, the low weight of the metal roof combined with its efficient snow-shedding properties means you avoid both the structural strain of heavy materials and the ice-dam problems that weigh down traditional roofing.
How much maintenance does a metal roof need compared to asphalt or wood shake?
Interlock aluminum requires virtually no maintenance. Unlike asphalt shingles (which curl, granulate, and require moss/algae treatments), wood shake (which splits and needs periodic sealing), or tile (which cracks and requires repointing), aluminum doesn't rot, split, or degrade. The Alunar fluorocarbon coating is warranted 30 years against chalking and fading—you won't need repainting. Tampico's 214 mm annual rainfall and typical wind gusts of 27 km/h naturally cleanse the roof; leaves and debris blow off more easily than they stick to asphalt. The ICC evaluation (ESR-1790) notes aluminum's suitability for low-maintenance CALGreen compliance. Your only task is clearing gutters and inspecting flashings annually—the same upkeep any roof requires. Over 50 years, this saves thousands compared to asphalt shake replacement cycles.
What's the actual lifespan and warranty coverage for Interlock metal roofing?
The Guardian Warranty is a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner—covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. It transfers once to the next owner, providing 50 years of coverage from completion. This structure reflects Interlock's confidence: manufactured since 1998 from roofing-grade aluminum (ASTM B209 3105-H24), with installations spanning coastal salt-air homes to an Antarctic research station. The Alunar coating carries a separate 30-year guarantee against fading and chalking. In practice, properly installed metal roofs last 50–70 years or more. For Tampico's freeze-thaw climate (120 cycles annually), this durability vastly exceeds asphalt (15–20 years) or wood shake (20–30 years with maintenance). You're buying the last roof you'll install.
How long does Interlock metal roofing installation take, and can it go over my existing roof?
Installation typically takes 2–4 days depending on roof size and complexity—faster than asphalt replacement because there's no tear-off. Interlock Metal Roofing (PNW) Inc., serving this region since 1997, installs directly over most existing roofs: asphalt shingles, wood shake, or even concrete tile. The lightweight panels (Shingle at 0.41 lb/sq ft) add minimal load, and the four-way interlocking system locks tightly regardless of substrate. Your old roofing stays in place, adding insulation and vapor management. The crew installs underlayment, panel rows, flashings, and trim; then fastens everything per ICC-ES ESR-1790 specifications. You avoid weeks of demolition, dumpster rental, and disposal costs—and the roof is weathertight the day installation finishes. Current regional promotion: no payments and no interest until Spring 2027, or 10% off installation.
