Everything was great. I would've gone with them, but if you want people to buy your roof, your interest rate is ridiculous. The salesman was a great guy and the company gave me a discount, but I couldn't see paying a 12.9% interest rate for 15 years. That's something you should work on or you would have had me.

Review: April 7, 2016Completion: February 29, 2016

During installation there are a lot of small metal shards littering the yard. They were in the bushes, flowers, on our deck, and in the grass. I even found some on the driveway and could of easily punctured a tire. The only time they were cleaned up was at the end instead of every day. We have dogs and they were at rick of cutting their paws during the entire installation. They should have covered bushes and should have tried harder to ensure a safer environment during installation. This would have been a bigger issue with young children. They cleaned up at the end and after making them walk around multiple times we signed off. Though even a month later I can still find one.

The interesting thing, and it still irritates me, is the estimate form looked like something I would've expected out of a company that started 3-4 weeks ago.

There could have been more communication regarding the changes that we wanted to make mid-way through the project. My roofing crew was great.

There was a slight miscommunication regarding location of the roof vents. We sort of had to guess how to get it fixed. Fortunately your customer service was very responsive and got the issue straightened out same day.

They don't deal honestly with their customers, and you have to watch them the whole time. You contract them for one thing, and they subcontract for something else. You need to check with the sub's contract and compare it to what you contracted them for because they try to skim. They could have improved with a more thorough assessment prior to the contract, adherence to the contract as it was written, and not trying to cheat us by contracting the sub to do something different from what I paid for. If I had not had asked for the sub's contract, I would not have known. That is what they were counting on.

Took a little longer to get the project started than quoted. The scheduler appears a little overextended. Product is expensive, but I am pleased with the results and look of the roof.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Anthony

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Anthony, Rhode Island. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Anthony.

How does a metal roof handle Rhode Island's heavy snow and ice buildup?

Metal roofs shed snow and ice better than asphalt because the smooth, hard surface prevents moisture from embedding, and the lightweight aluminum won't sag under load like traditional materials. Anthony averages about 75 cm of snow annually with roughly 80 freeze-thaw cycles per year—exactly the conditions where metal's non-absorbent surface and superior drainage prevent ice dams from forming. Interlock's four-way interlocking panels are warranted to resist wind gusts up to 125 km/h, meaning snow guards stay secure even as winter storms pass through the region. The panels install so lightly (~0.41 lb/sq ft for the Shingle profile) that no structural reinforcement is needed, so your home won't carry the burden of heavy slate or tile through multiple thaw cycles.

Will freeze-thaw cycles in Anthony damage aluminum metal roofing?

Aluminum actually thrives through freeze-thaw cycling because it expands and contracts uniformly without cracking, splitting, or absorbing water like asphalt or wood shingles do. With 80 freeze-thaw days per year in Anthony and annual rainfall around 1264 mm, your roof faces constant wet-cold transitions—precisely where asphalt delaminates and wood curls. Aluminum roofing-grade 3105-H24 alloy contains no iron, so its oxide layer self-heals when scratched by ice or branch contact, meaning minor damage never initiates rust or rot. The Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon coating, warranted 30 years against chalking and fading, handles the salt-air and chemical runoff from freeze-thaw salt applications without degradation.

Can an aluminum metal roof rust in a New England climate?

Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron; instead, it forms a naturally protective oxide layer that self-heals when scratched or exposed. Steel roofing rusts in wet climates, but Interlock uses roofing-grade 3003-H24 and 3105-H24 aluminum alloy (ASTM B209 certified), plus a two-sided Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish that adds 30 years of weathering protection. Anthony receives about 1264 mm of rain yearly and frequent coastal-influenced humidity—the exact environment where traditional metal rusts. Since Interlock's aluminum oxide cannot corrode, and both panel sides are coated, the roof remains corrosion-free even where asphalt absorbs moisture and steel develops rust streaks.

Does a metal roof hold up in hail, and could it lower my insurance?

Interlock metal roofing carries a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the Guardian Warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches, giving you protection well beyond what asphalt or wood can claim. The aluminum's hardness and four-way interlocking design distribute impact energy across the panel system rather than concentrating it on a single point. Many homeowners find that a Class 4-rated roof qualifies for insurance discounts because it drastically reduces claims risk during severe storms. With Anthony's wind gusts reaching 125 km/h and spring severe-weather seasons, filing a hail claim on asphalt is common; with Interlock, you avoid that claim entirely and gain negotiating power with your insurer.

Will a metal roof reduce my cooling costs in Anthony?

Yes—Interlock's energy-efficient profiles with up to 0.55 solar reflectance (Aged Copper Penny) and 0.84 thermal emissivity reflect heat that asphalt absorbs, lowering cooling costs year-round. Anthony receives about 3075 hours of sunshine annually, and while the climate is cool (mean 11°C), spring and fall heat gain through dark roofs increases air-conditioning runtime. energy-efficient metal roofs cool the attic more effectively than asphalt, meaning your HVAC doesn't work as hard when the sun is strong. The reflective coating also reduces the urban heat-island effect around your home, keeping outdoor temperatures lower and making your porch and siding more comfortable.

Is aluminum metal roofing light enough to install over my existing asphalt roof?

Yes—Interlock's Mediterranean Tile profile installs at just 0.59 lb/sq ft, making it roughly 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile, so no structural reinforcement is required and it typically installs directly over existing roofs. This weight advantage is crucial in Anthony, where the combination of about 75 cm annual snow plus 1264 mm rain means your roof already carries seasonal moisture burden. Because Interlock is so light, your home's framing avoids the cumulative stress of tear-off-and-disposal work, which also eliminates the cost and landfill impact of removing old asphalt. Installation over your existing roof means less labor, faster completion, and your home stays weather-sealed throughout the process.

What's the real lifespan and warranty on a metal roof in Rhode Island?

Interlock backs its roofing with the Guardian Warranty: a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner covering rust, rot, splitting, cracking, curling, and impact loss—and it transfers once to the next owner for 50 years from completion. Most metal roofs last 50+ years, and Interlock's have been installed since 1998 in climates ranging from coastal salt air to Antarctic research stations, so Rhode Island's 80 freeze-thaw days and 1264 mm rain are well within proven performance. The 30-year coating warranty (Alunar PVDF, ASTM D4214/D2244 certified) means your color and finish won't chalk or fade. Unlike asphalt (15-20 years), you'll likely never re-roof again, making it the last roof you buy for your home.

How much maintenance does a metal roof really need compared to asphalt or wood?

Metal roofing requires virtually no maintenance—no algae treatment, no wood sealing, no shingle replacement—while asphalt requires regular inspections, granule-loss monitoring, and eventual tear-off. Interlock's smooth aluminum and PVDF coating shed leaves, debris, and salt spray without degradation; rain naturally cleans it. Wood shingles in Anthony's humid, 80-freeze-thaw-cycle climate split and curl within years, requiring costly repairs. Asphalt absorbs the region's 1264 mm annual rainfall, accelerating moss growth and granule loss. Because metal doesn't absorb water, expand unevenly, or deteriorate from UV exposure, your maintenance costs stay near zero over the roof's 50+ year life. CALGreen verification confirms reduced maintenance burden versus traditional materials.

Can I get a metal roof that looks like slate, cedar shake, or tile?

Interlock offers five profiles specifically designed to match traditional styles: Slate, Cedar Shingle, Shake, Mediterranean Tile, and Standing Seam, each with authentic texture and shadow lines cast by the interlocking aluminum panels. The profiles replicate the visual depth of premium materials while delivering aluminum's durability, light weight (~0.41–0.59 lb/sq ft), and non-corrosive performance. Whether your Anthony home calls for New England cedar shake charm or Mediterranean aesthetic, you choose the look without compromising on a roof that won't split from 80 freeze-thaw cycles per year or absorb 1264 mm of annual rainfall. Every profile carries the same UL 2218 Class 4 hail rating, 120 mph wind warranty, and Class A fire availability.

Who installs Interlock metal roofing in Anthony, and how long has the company been in the area?

Interlock Metal Roofing (New England) Inc. has served Anthony and the surrounding region since 1999, bringing over 25 years of local installation experience in Rhode Island's snow, freeze-thaw, and coastal conditions. They understand the specific challenges of 75 cm annual snow loads, 80 freeze-thaw cycles, and the salt-air exposure that demands rigorous two-sided Alunar coating protection. Right now, the company is offering no payments and no interest until Spring 2027, or 10% off installation—timing that works well for homeowners planning spring completion. Because Interlock (New England) knows the local building code, existing roof conditions, and winter installation windows in Anthony, they can guide you through ESR-1790 (2025) compliance and ensure your roof is properly secured against the region's typical 125 km/h wind gusts.

Is a metal roof a good choice for Anthony’s climate?

Yes. Anthony averages about 75 cm of snow, 1264 mm of rain, roughly 80 freeze–thaw days a year, with peak wind gusts near 125 km/h. Interlock® aluminum roofing is wind-rated to 193+ km/h (120 mph), UL 2218 Class 4 impact-rated and Class A fire-rated, and its four-way interlocking panels shed snow and resist ice dams and freeze–thaw cracking — all backed by a lifetime limited, transferable warranty.
