Interlock® Aluminum Roofing — all-climates performance specs for Dallesport, Washington
| Spec / Rating | Climate / Risk Factor + What It Solves |
|---|---|
| Wind resistance: 120+ mph (193+ kph) | Extreme wind, hurricanes, storm uplift: full interlocking attachment helps prevent blow-offs, edge lifting, and panel loss in high-gust events. |
| Fire rating: Class A (with proper assembly) | Wildfire, embers, radiant heat, chimney sparks: non-combustible roof assembly provides the highest residential fire protection rating. |
| Hail resistance: UL 2218 Class 4 | Hail and impact debris: highest impact classification; resists cracking, splitting, and surface loss common with asphalt under hail strikes. |
| Snow & ice performance: interlocking, shedding profile | Heavy snow, freeze-thaw, ice dams: smooth aluminum sheds snow efficiently and the interlocking design helps block water intrusion when melt-refreeze cycles occur. (Final snow-load capacity depends on roof structure and local code.) |
| Corrosion resistance: aluminum (won’t rust) | Salt air, coastal humidity, wet climates: aluminum naturally resists rust and corrosion, reducing long-term failure risk in marine or high-moisture environments. |
| Heat / UV durability: baked-on coating system | High heat, intense sun, thermal cycling: coatings resist UV breakdown and temperature-swing fatigue, slowing fading and surface degradation. |
| Moss / algae resistance: smooth coated surface | Wet shade, organic growth: low-porosity metal surface gives moss/algae less to grip, reducing staining and maintenance. |
| Material: heavy-gauge aluminum roof profiles (Slate / Shake / Shingle / Tile / Standing Seam) | All-season structural stability: lightweight, dent-resistant metal system stays stable through large hot-cold swings and severe weather. |
| Expected lifespan: 50+ years | Long-term durability across climates: avoids re-roof cycles typical of shorter-life materials, even in high-stress environments. |
| Warranty: Lifetime-Limited, non-prorated + 50-year transferable | Lifetime protection + resale value: guarantees long-term material confidence and transfers to future owners. |

What our customers are saying:
Work on the price, and I think you will get yourself a lot of business. A lot of the labor varies whether you take off the roof or not and includes the cost of removing the roof, and in my case, they would not be taking away anything, so I am still trying to figure out why it would be a two-day job when it's not that big of a roof.
I can't believe how much the roof changed the entire view of the house. There could have been more consistent clean-up during the installation. We have no regrets.
Looks beautiful and can’t wait to see how it fairs in the summer heat and large snowfalls. Communication of start date.
They could have improved their scheduling.
I would not recommend them because I am not impressed with this company. I think the salesman should have had the proper skylights ordered for my home and not trying to fit ones in the space. I could have gotten the roof at half the price and one that does not leak.
Interlock Roofing took forever. There was so much wrong. I needed a roof replacement from the damage. It took two months for them to respond. When they did come out, I was overcharged for the bid. They had to redo the bid. I got emails sent to me that weren't even my estimate. It was somebody else's. I got the run-around and was trying to contact people. They were saying they would get me to them and nobody would ever call me back. I finally got a hold of someone who did communicate with me and finally got someone to come out to replace the roof. Interlock Roofing could have improved with the installation, workmanship as they are cleaning things up, and taking care of customers' property. My experience with Interlock Roofing was awful and I'm not happy.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Dallesport
The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Dallesport, Washington. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Dallesport.
Will a metal roof handle Dallesport's freeze-thaw cycles?
Yes—aluminum thrives in freeze-thaw conditions. Dallesport averages about 48 freeze-thaw days per year, a cycle that destroys asphalt shingles and wood shakes through expansion and contraction. Aluminum's crystalline structure and 3105-H24 alloy formulation remain stable across temperature swings. Unlike brittle materials, it doesn't crack, curl, or split. The Alunar 70% PVDF coating adheres to both sides of the panel, preventing moisture penetration that accelerates freeze damage in traditional roofing.
How does metal roofing perform with Dallesport's snow load?
Metal roofing sheds snow and ice efficiently because its smooth, hard surface resists ice dam formation. Dallesport receives roughly 56 cm of snow annually with gusts to 84 km/h, and the light weight of Interlock panels—the Slate at 0.41 lb/sq ft, Cedar Shingle at 0.51 lb/sq ft—means your roof handles snow accumulation without structural strain. Metal's thermal conductivity also aids gradual melt, reducing ice dam risk. Optional snow guards can be installed to control deliberate snow release if desired.
How much maintenance does a metal roof need compared to asphalt or shake?
Metal requires far less maintenance than asphalt or wood shake. Asphalt shingles degrade under Dallesport's 3,430 annual sunshine hours and need regular replacement; wood shakes split and rot in the region's 56 cm snow and 449 mm rain. Interlock's aluminum panels resist algae, fungi, and insect damage, eliminating the need for chemical treatments or annual inspections. The CALGreen-verified reduced-maintenance design means you're buying your last roof, not the first of many.
Can I install metal tile on my existing roof without reinforcing the structure?
Yes—Interlock's Mediterranean Tile profile installs at approximately 0.59 lb/sq ft, about 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile, so no structural reinforcement is required. Most existing roofs can support this weight without modification. The light load also means faster installation and lower labor costs. This advantage compounds in older homes or those with modest framing; you get the authentic tile aesthetic and durability without expensive structural work or concerns about snow load interactions in Dallesport's 56 cm annual snow climate.
What does the installation timeline look like for a metal roof in Dallesport?
Installation is typically faster than asphalt replacement because metal panels interlock four ways and install over most existing roofs without tear-off. Interlock Metal Roofing (PNW) Inc. has served this region since 1997, so crews are familiar with Klickitat County conditions. Avoiding the asphalt tear-off saves time and disposal costs. Timeline varies by roof size and complexity, but the lightweight aluminum panels and streamlined fastening process keep labor hours low compared to slate, tile, or wood shake installation. Current regional promotion offers no payments and no interest until Spring 2027.
What's the real lifespan of an Interlock metal roof?
The Guardian lifetime limited warranty covers the original owner for material defects—rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance—with zero proration. That's a single-owner lifetime guarantee. The warranty also transfers once: the next owner receives 50 years of coverage from completion date. Real-world durability: Interlock has manufactured these panels since 1998 from a facility in Delta, BC, and has installations ranging from coastal salt-air homes to an Antarctic research station. In Dallesport's moderate maritime climate, the non-prorated coverage reflects confidence in long-term performance.
Is a metal roof worth the cost over the life of my home?
Yes—metal roofing is the last roof you buy. Asphalt shingles last 15–20 years and need multiple replacements over 50 years; metal lasts 50+ years with a transferable lifetime limited warranty and no major maintenance costs. Over 50 years, two or three asphalt re-roofs, plus tear-off disposal fees, repairs to ice dam damage from Dallesport's 48 freeze-thaw cycles, and potential structural repairs far exceed the upfront metal cost. The Guardian warranty eliminates surprise costs. Current promotion: no payments and no interest until Spring 2027, or 10% off installation—turning the financial case even stronger.
Will a metal roof help lower my cooling and heating costs?
energy-efficient Interlock colors reflect solar heat rather than absorbing it like asphalt. Selected finishes achieve initial solar reflectance up to 0.55 (Aged Copper Penny) and thermal emissivity of 0.84, reducing heat transfer into your home during Dallesport's 3,430 annual sunshine hours. This translates to lower air-conditioning demand in summer and reduced passive heat loss in winter months. Cool Roof Rating Council certification confirms the reflective performance. Over a 50-year roof life, energy savings compound significantly—another reason metal roofing is the better long-term investment.
Can I get the look of slate, cedar shake, or tile with a metal roof?
Yes—Interlock offers five authentic profiles: Slate, Cedar Shingle, Shake, Standing Seam, and Mediterranean Tile. Each replicates traditional materials' texture and dimension at a fraction of the weight and maintenance burden. The Slate and Cedar Shingle profiles deliver classic residential aesthetics; the Mediterranean Tile suits Tuscan or Spanish-influenced homes. All profiles are aluminum, non-combustible (Class A fire rated when specified), and covered by the same 30-year coating warranty and lifetime limited material warranty. Choose the style that matches your home's character; the durability and performance are identical across all profiles.
Does a metal roof add value when selling my home in Dallesport?
Metal roofing is a genuine value add at resale. Buyers recognize that a 50-year non-prorated roof eliminates the largest deferred maintenance item on most home inspections. The transferable Guardian warranty—50 years for the next owner—is a tangible selling point. Curb appeal matters too: authentic Slate, Cedar Shingle, Shake, Tile, and Standing Seam profiles elevate home appearance without the upkeep burden of real wood or slate. In Klickitat County's competitive market, a roof that is both beautiful and maintenance-free during the buyer's ownership is a strong differentiator. Interlock Metal Roofing (PNW) Inc. can discuss local resale trends during your consultation.
Is a metal roof a good choice for Dallesport’s climate?
Yes. Dallesport averages about 56 cm of snow, 449 mm of rain, roughly 48 freeze–thaw days a year, with peak wind gusts near 84 km/h. Interlock® aluminum roofing is wind-rated to 193+ km/h (120 mph), UL 2218 Class 4 impact-rated and Class A fire-rated, and its four-way interlocking panels shed snow and resist ice dams and freeze–thaw cracking — all backed by a lifetime limited, transferable warranty.
