Interlock® Aluminum Roofing — all-climates performance specs for Roosevelt, Washington
| Spec / Rating | Climate / Risk Factor + What It Solves |
|---|---|
| Wind resistance: 120+ mph (193+ kph) | Extreme wind, hurricanes, storm uplift: full interlocking attachment helps prevent blow-offs, edge lifting, and panel loss in high-gust events. |
| Fire rating: Class A (with proper assembly) | Wildfire, embers, radiant heat, chimney sparks: non-combustible roof assembly provides the highest residential fire protection rating. |
| Hail resistance: UL 2218 Class 4 | Hail and impact debris: highest impact classification; resists cracking, splitting, and surface loss common with asphalt under hail strikes. |
| Snow & ice performance: interlocking, shedding profile | Heavy snow, freeze-thaw, ice dams: smooth aluminum sheds snow efficiently and the interlocking design helps block water intrusion when melt-refreeze cycles occur. (Final snow-load capacity depends on roof structure and local code.) |
| Corrosion resistance: aluminum (won’t rust) | Salt air, coastal humidity, wet climates: aluminum naturally resists rust and corrosion, reducing long-term failure risk in marine or high-moisture environments. |
| Heat / UV durability: baked-on coating system | High heat, intense sun, thermal cycling: coatings resist UV breakdown and temperature-swing fatigue, slowing fading and surface degradation. |
| Moss / algae resistance: smooth coated surface | Wet shade, organic growth: low-porosity metal surface gives moss/algae less to grip, reducing staining and maintenance. |
| Material: heavy-gauge aluminum roof profiles (Slate / Shake / Shingle / Tile / Standing Seam) | All-season structural stability: lightweight, dent-resistant metal system stays stable through large hot-cold swings and severe weather. |
| Expected lifespan: 50+ years | Long-term durability across climates: avoids re-roof cycles typical of shorter-life materials, even in high-stress environments. |
| Warranty: Lifetime-Limited, non-prorated + 50-year transferable | Lifetime protection + resale value: guarantees long-term material confidence and transfers to future owners. |

What our customers are saying:
Prompt service and very knowledgeable. Highly recommend.
My wife and I wanted a long-term roof and I think we found it. The product seems very good and are installer Daniel was terrific and a trooper put a lot of hours and a lot of time and made it look real nice when it was completed. I would recommend the company if you're looking for a metal roof.
Ivan Excellent will make it right!!
We needed a roof repair when our neighbors tree dropped a large limb through our roof. Ivan came And accessed The damage, Ordered the sheets we needed. He came back and did the whole Repair himself. So happy to have it fixed along with his recommendations to have the roof cleaned. We appreciate his skills in repairing The roof.
The Interlock associate Ivan, came did an awesome service in correcting the part needed to be corrected, he left us with instructions of what we needed to check and to get in touch with, if needed 😀 Ms. May the associate answering the phone was helpful for us to get prompt service. They are dependable. We received roof service.
The work was efficient and well done. The service, the people and team were great. Beautiful roof.
I highly appreciate the professionalism, workmanship and the quality of materials used. I don't doubt that it will be our forever roof and will not need to worry about replacement during the life of our house. Ross, Tony, Roma were all great throughout the new roof installation process.
We noticed water spots on the ceiling. Ivan came, found a hole likely caused by a branch in the recent wind storm. He repaired the hole on the spot. Thank you Ivan!
Ivan replaced our exhaust vent on the roof that had some leaking issue. We were impressed with his professionalism, courtesy and fixing the problem to our utmost satisfaction. We certainly would recommend him and the company for any roofing issues being it a new roof or repairs.
We recently had our roof replaced with interlock aluminum shingles and we love how it made our house stand out in our neighborhood. I would have given 5 stars but there were few things that I wanted to point out. Ross arrived on time and did an excellent presentation. I specifically asked him if their installers are contractors and his answer was no, they are employees of interlock. Turns out they are contractors which is no big deal as long as they do excellent work, it’s all about honesty. Prior to installation, the installers told me that it would take about two and a half days to finish which is great, I said no rush. The installation process took two weeks, I hope everything will go well this coming rainy season. The only thing I didn’t like was at the end of the day they leave their tools in the driveway just laying around and the worst they leave their microwave plugged into the outlet with damaged power cord. But with all things said, we love our new roof and only time will tell if it was worth the price.
Excellent contact and coordination with field representatives and installers/project manager.
We recently had our roof replaced with aluminum shingles and are very satisfied so far. - Easy Sales Process – Thank you Ross for making everything clear and straightforward from the start. - Great Value – The price was very reasonable compared to other estimates. - Better Than Expected – The finished look exceeded our expectations and really improved the appearance of our home. It’s not as glossy as we feared, which we like. - Fast & Efficient – The crew worked quickly and finished everything in just 2 days for our ~1,000 sq. ft. house with two layers of old shingles. - No Issues – No noise at all, despite common concerns about metal roofs. Tip for others: Ask for the exact model and size of vents that will be installed before the project starts. Our vents were only a few months old but couldn’t be reused, and the ones the company brought were the wrong size. The crew had to buy replacements last minute, which worked but don’t perfectly match.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Roosevelt
The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Roosevelt, Washington. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Roosevelt.
Does metal roofing handle heavy snow and ice in Roosevelt?
Metal roofing handles snow and ice better than asphalt because Interlock's four-way interlocking panels lock together and shed water cleanly. Roosevelt averages about 36 cm of snow per year with roughly 35 freeze-thaw cycles, which causes asphalt to crack and curl—aluminum doesn't. The panels stay dimensionally stable through temperature swings. Optional snow guards prevent sudden slides onto walkways or vehicles, and the system's light weight (our Shingle at 0.41 lb/sq ft) means no structural reinforcement is needed.
Will my metal roof stay secure in Roosevelt's wind gusts?
Roosevelt experiences wind gusts up to 111 km/h, and Interlock's four-way interlocking panel system is warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed to specification. The mechanical interlocks between panels prevent lifting or separation even in extreme gusts. Unlike shingle roofs, which fail panel-by-panel, a metal roof moves as one locked unit. That design has proven itself from coastal salt-air homes to inland high-wind zones across North America.
Can aluminum roofing rust or corrode in Washington's wet climate?
No—aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron, the element that forms rust. Roosevelt receives about 286 mm of rain annually, but water actually helps aluminum because it triggers a self-healing oxide layer that protects the metal underneath. The Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon coating (warranted 30 years against chalking and fading) adds another barrier, applied to both sides of every panel for coastal-strength protection. Even in wet climates, aluminum outlasts steel roofs that oxidize and weaken.
How long does a metal roof last, and what does the warranty actually cover?
The Guardian warranty covers the original owner for a lifetime and is transferable to the next owner for 50 years from completion—meaning your buyer still has decades of protection. Unlike asphalt (15–20 years) or wood shake (20–25 years), Interlock's material warranty is non-prorated, covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance with no deductibles or percentage phase-outs. Combined with the 30-year coating warranty (ASTM D4214 / D2244 tested), you're protected through decades of Roosevelt's freeze-thaw cycles.
Do I need to reinforce my house to install metal roofing?
No reinforcement is needed. Interlock's aluminum panels are extraordinarily light—our Mediterranean Tile profile installs at 0.59 lb/sq ft, about 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile. The Shake profile weighs just 0.58 lb/sq ft. This light weight means metal installs directly over most existing roofing systems, saving tear-off labor and eliminating the risk of structural damage from old asphalt or tile. Fewer installation days also reduce disruption during Roosevelt's typical 286 mm annual rainfall.
Does a metal roof reduce cooling costs in summer?
energy-efficient Interlock colors reflect solar heat instead of absorbing it like asphalt does. Colors like Aged Copper Penny achieve up to 0.55 initial solar reflectance and 0.84 thermal emissivity, which means heat bounces away rather than transferring into your home. Roosevelt averages about 3470 sunshine hours annually—enough to benefit from reflective properties. While most cooling demand peaks elsewhere, the reflected heat reduces strain on attic ventilation year-round and prevents heat buildup that accelerates asphalt aging and shortens the life of other roofing materials.
What protection does a metal roof offer against hail damage?
Interlock metal roofing earns UL 2218 Class 4, the highest impact rating available. The warranty covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Class 4 impact resistance often qualifies homeowners for insurance discounts because the roof resists damage that totals asphalt or wood shake roofs. Roosevelt's hail risk is lower than some regions, but when hail does occur, aluminum's material properties and ICC-ES compliance (ESR-1790) demonstrate the durability insurers value. Many insurers reduce premiums for Class 4 rated roofs.
Is metal roofing fire-resistant?
Interlock aluminum roofing is available in Class A fire classification—non-combustible, the highest fire rating. Aluminum itself cannot ignite or release flammable gases. The ICC-ES evaluation report (ESR-1790, reissued 2025) confirms compliance with IBC and IRC fire codes for residential construction. Aluminum's non-combustibility also satisfies CALGreen standards for reduced maintenance and fire resilience. In regions prone to wildfires or where local codes require Class A roofing, metal eliminates the concern of shingles contributing to fire spread.
Can I get a metal roof that looks like slate, shakes, or tile?
Yes—Interlock offers five profiles: Slate, Cedar Shingle, Shake, Standing Seam, and Mediterranean Tile. Each replicates traditional materials while delivering aluminum's durability. The Slate and Cedar Shingle profiles suit rooflines common in Pacific Northwest neighborhoods. The Shake and Mediterranean Tile appeal to homeowners wanting texture and depth without the weight penalty of real tile or the splitting risk of wood shakes in Roosevelt's 35 annual freeze-thaw cycles. Standing Seam suits modern or contemporary designs. All five profiles interlock the same way for wind and hail resistance.
Who installs Interlock metal roofing in Roosevelt?
Interlock Metal Roofing (PNW) Inc. has served the Pacific Northwest region since 1997—over two decades of experience with local climate and code requirements. The company manufactures Interlock panels in Delta, BC, just hours away, so repair parts and service support arrive quickly. A current regional promotion offers no payments and no interest until Spring 2027, or 10% off installation. Local installers understand Roosevelt's specific conditions: 286 mm annual rainfall, 36 cm snow, and 111 km/h wind gusts—and they know how to fasten panels to handle them.
