What our customers are saying:
Prompt service and very knowledgeable. Highly recommend.
My wife and I wanted a long-term roof and I think we found it. The product seems very good and are installer Daniel was terrific and a trooper put a lot of hours and a lot of time and made it look real nice when it was completed. I would recommend the company if you're looking for a metal roof.
Ivan Excellent will make it right!!
We needed a roof repair when our neighbors tree dropped a large limb through our roof. Ivan came And accessed The damage, Ordered the sheets we needed. He came back and did the whole Repair himself. So happy to have it fixed along with his recommendations to have the roof cleaned. We appreciate his skills in repairing The roof.
The Interlock associate Ivan, came did an awesome service in correcting the part needed to be corrected, he left us with instructions of what we needed to check and to get in touch with, if needed 😀 Ms. May the associate answering the phone was helpful for us to get prompt service. They are dependable. We received roof service.
The work was efficient and well done. The service, the people and team were great. Beautiful roof.
I highly appreciate the professionalism, workmanship and the quality of materials used. I don't doubt that it will be our forever roof and will not need to worry about replacement during the life of our house. Ross, Tony, Roma were all great throughout the new roof installation process.
We noticed water spots on the ceiling. Ivan came, found a hole likely caused by a branch in the recent wind storm. He repaired the hole on the spot. Thank you Ivan!
Ivan replaced our exhaust vent on the roof that had some leaking issue. We were impressed with his professionalism, courtesy and fixing the problem to our utmost satisfaction. We certainly would recommend him and the company for any roofing issues being it a new roof or repairs.
We recently had our roof replaced with interlock aluminum shingles and we love how it made our house stand out in our neighborhood. I would have given 5 stars but there were few things that I wanted to point out. Ross arrived on time and did an excellent presentation. I specifically asked him if their installers are contractors and his answer was no, they are employees of interlock. Turns out they are contractors which is no big deal as long as they do excellent work, it’s all about honesty. Prior to installation, the installers told me that it would take about two and a half days to finish which is great, I said no rush. The installation process took two weeks, I hope everything will go well this coming rainy season. The only thing I didn’t like was at the end of the day they leave their tools in the driveway just laying around and the worst they leave their microwave plugged into the outlet with damaged power cord. But with all things said, we love our new roof and only time will tell if it was worth the price.
Excellent contact and coordination with field representatives and installers/project manager.
We recently had our roof replaced with aluminum shingles and are very satisfied so far. - Easy Sales Process – Thank you Ross for making everything clear and straightforward from the start. - Great Value – The price was very reasonable compared to other estimates. - Better Than Expected – The finished look exceeded our expectations and really improved the appearance of our home. It’s not as glossy as we feared, which we like. - Fast & Efficient – The crew worked quickly and finished everything in just 2 days for our ~1,000 sq. ft. house with two layers of old shingles. - No Issues – No noise at all, despite common concerns about metal roofs. Tip for others: Ask for the exact model and size of vents that will be installed before the project starts. Our vents were only a few months old but couldn’t be reused, and the ones the company brought were the wrong size. The crew had to buy replacements last minute, which worked but don’t perfectly match.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Sea Acre
The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Sea Acre, Washington. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Sea Acre.
Can aluminum metal roofing rust in Sea Acre's rainy, coastal climate?
Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron — the element that corrodes. Instead, aluminum naturally forms a self-healing oxide layer that protects it from the elements. In Sea Acre, where you receive about 1015 mm of annual rainfall and occasional salt-air exposure from the San Juan County coastal geography, this built-in resistance is a significant advantage. The Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish applied to both sides of every panel adds another 30-year warranty layer against corrosion and fading, ensuring long-term durability without the maintenance burden of steel roofing or traditional materials.
How does a metal roof handle the snow and ice in Sea Acre winters?
Metal roofing sheds snow and ice efficiently because of its smooth, sloped surface and low-friction finish — snow doesn't accumulate the way it does on asphalt shingles. Sea Acre averages about 30 cm of snow annually and experiences roughly 15 freeze-thaw days per year, conditions that stress roofs through repeated expansion and contraction. Aluminum's flexibility handles this thermal cycling better than brittle asphalt, which cracks and curls. Four-way interlocking panels prevent wind-driven moisture from entering seams, critical when winter gusts reach 111 km/h. Optional snow guards can be installed if you want to control runoff; the lightweight material (the Shingle profile at 0.41 lb/sq ft) means no structural reinforcement is needed for any configuration.
Will a metal roof stay secure during Sea Acre's winter wind gusts?
Yes. Interlock panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed to specification — well above the 111 km/h gusts typical in your area. The four-way interlocking design creates a unified system where each panel locks to its neighbors, preventing uplift and lateral movement that can plague roofs installed over decades of thermal cycling. Sea Acre's average daily-max winds of about 20 km/h, combined with seasonal gusts, mean your roof endures constant pressure; the interlocking mechanism distributes that load across the entire roof plane rather than concentrating stress on fasteners. This engineering is verified under ICC-ES evaluation report ESR-1790, the current standard for residential metal roofing.
Does a metal roof stand up to hail, and could it lower my insurance costs?
Interlock metal roofing carries a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating — the highest available — and the warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. This durability often qualifies homeowners for insurance premium reductions, though you should verify your specific insurer's policy. In San Juan County, where severe hail is less common than in interior regions, the real value is peace of mind: your roof won't require tear-off replacement after a single storm. The aluminum material's non-combustible nature (Class A fire classification available) and impact resistance together present a lower-risk profile to insurers compared to asphalt shingles, which sustain permanent damage from impacts and require costly repairs or full replacement within their 20-year lifespan.
How long does a metal roof last, and what does the warranty actually cover?
The Guardian warranty is lifetime limited, non-prorated material coverage for the original owner — covers rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. That means if an issue arises in year 1 or year 30, you're covered at full replacement cost, not depreciated value. The warranty transfers once to the next owner for a 50-year term from completion, adding measurable resale appeal in a market where buyers increasingly value durability. Asphalt shingles typically last 15–20 years before widespread replacement; a metal roof's 50+ year performance window means you'll likely never replace it again. Combined with the 30-year guarantee on the Alunar fluorocarbon coating against chalking and fading, Interlock roofing is genuinely the last roof you'll need to buy.
Will my house need expensive structural work to support a metal roof?
No. Interlock's exceptional lightness eliminates the need for reinforcement. The Slate profile weighs roughly 0.41 lb/sq ft, the Shake about 0.58, and the Mediterranean Tile only 0.59 — making the Tile variant approximately 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile. Your existing asphalt roof already supports far more weight; aluminum actually reduces load on your home's framing. This matters in Sea Acre's freeze-thaw environment: heavy materials expand and contract with greater force, stressing connections. Lightweight aluminum flexes with thermal changes (about 15 freeze-thaw days annually) without cracking fasteners or decking. Most installs happen directly over your existing roof — no costly tear-off or structural modifications required.
How long does installation take, and can you install over my current roof?
Yes, Interlock installs over most existing roofs, eliminating the expense and environmental impact of a tear-off. Installation timeline varies by roof size and weather, but a typical residential project completes within 1–2 weeks. Working over existing material provides an extra layer of protection and improves underlayment performance during Sea Acre's 1015 mm annual rainfall and coastal wind gusts reaching 111 km/h. A solid deck with proper underlayment (not exposed to the elements during installation) ensures that rain is handled cleanly and noise is minimized. Interlock Metal Roofing (PNW) Inc. has been installing in the region since 1997, so they understand local conditions and permit requirements in San Juan County. Current promotion: no payments and no interest until Spring 2027, or 10% off installation.
What maintenance does a metal roof actually require in a rainy climate?
Minimal. Unlike asphalt shingles, which require moss treatment, nail-pop repairs, and tab loss replacement every 3–5 years in wet climates, metal roofing is essentially maintenance-free. Interlock aluminum won't rot, split, curl, or develop leaks from thermal cycling — critical with 15 freeze-thaw days annually in Sea Acre. The CALGreen-verified coating handles the 1015 mm yearly rainfall without degradation. No annual inspections, no sealant reapplication, no debris removal issues (leaves slide off smoothly). Wood shake and tile roofs demand regular cleaning, sealing, and repairs in your maritime environment; aluminum's non-porous surface simply sheds water and stays protected. This translates to thousands of dollars in deferred maintenance costs over a 50-year roof life.
Does metal roofing help with cooling costs in summer?
Yes, if you choose an energy-efficient color. Interlock offers profiles with thermal emissivity of 0.84 and initial solar reflectance up to 0.55 (Aged Copper Penny), meaning they reflect more solar heat than asphalt shingles absorb. Sea Acre receives approximately 3119 sunshine hours annually; even in a temperate maritime climate, summer cooling costs add up. Cool Roof Rating Council certification confirms the reflectance performance under real-world conditions. While your region's mean temperature of 10.5°C keeps cooling demand lower than inland areas, metal's reflectivity reduces attic temperature rise and lessens air conditioning workload during warmer months. The material's light weight (0.41–0.59 lb/sq ft) also allows air to flow beneath panels more freely than heavy asphalt, further supporting passive cooling.
Is aluminum roofing actually more environmentally responsible than asphalt?
Substantially. Interlock aluminum is approximately 95% recyclable, and the material itself is recovered and reused indefinitely without degradation. Asphalt shingles, by contrast, generate hundreds of millions of tons of landfill waste annually — a single roof tear-off typically produces 10–15 tons of non-biodegradable material. Since Interlock installs over your existing roof in most cases, you avoid the tear-off cycle entirely, further reducing waste. Manufactured since 1998 in Delta, BC, and installed from coastal homes to Antarctica, the product's durability means it stays on your roof for 50+ years rather than requiring replacement every 15–20 years. In Sea Acre's 1015 mm annual rainfall and maritime climate, the extended lifespan dramatically reduces the total environmental footprint — fewer replacements, fewer trucks, fewer landfills. Choosing metal roofing is one of the highest-impact sustainability decisions a homeowner can make.
