Review: June 17, 2017Completion: February 17, 2017

I have made, and continuously still make, numerous recommendations to family & friends to install a Interlock roof. And, I have produced pictures on demand that I stored on my smart phone. If possible, I would be appreciative if I could get the drone footage that Jesse had taken after the finishing of the installation. I believe it would be a great selling point coming from a true customer to help propel the Interlock name. There are just a couple areas on the roof that the installation crew could have touched-on during the installation, but overall the roof looks simply amazing. Quality certainly displays the professionalism the installers had put into their work. Since the installation of our new roof, we have received numerous compliments from many of our neighbors that walk around our subdivision, plus a handful of neighbors in the adjoining subdivisions. Many questions have been asked with many answers given. We are definitely happy with our new Interlock roof. We have NOT once questioned or second guessed our decision to install an Interlock roof. It is one of the best decisions we have ever made for re-investing in our home...Thank you, Interlock!

Excellent roof! Looks good! The installers were courteous and professional. Put the tarp all around the house and kept the site very clean. I was impressed with their super service. They bent over backward to please us. The A-Team of Roofing!

Review: April 10, 2017Completion: March 17, 2015

I love the roof! It looks great, and the squirrels that we’re crawling all over my old asphalt roof slide right off it. The snow slides off, too. I hope to get some $500 referrals. The crew was terrific, hardworking, courteous, polite, and clean.

Review: May 16, 2017Completion: July 31, 2008

The installation was super smooth. Every installer was courteous and professional. We get lots of compliments, and people stop by all the time to admire it. One of the biggest misconceptions about metal roofing is people think it’s loud. Our Interlock roof is very silent. The only way I know if it’s raining is if I look out a window. Also, the snow just slides off.

I wanted to drop you a note to tell you how much we like (love) our new roof. Installation went smoothly, and the crew was extremely nice, especially Jesse and Sal, the ones I talked with the most. Most of all, they cleaned up any messes every night.

Review: May 16, 2017Completion: September 24, 2014

We purchased our Interlock Lifetime Roof in June 2014. We are very happy with the look, durability of the material, and finish. After a snowfall, the heat of the sun will warm the roof and allow the snow to shed from the roof. We have a great sense of security, knowing it can withstand higher winds than conventional asphalt.

Review: June 9, 2026Completion: June 10, 2026

Your home is your greatest investment, sheltering you from the storms. Don't nickel and dime yourself when choosing a roof, you get what you pay for. We chose Interlock aluminum roofing for our house, and are totally pleased with it. Aluminum doesn't rust period. The current rage of steel roofing is a racket preying on uninformed consumers who want something for next to nothing. Steel roofs are coated to prevent rust. However, once these coatings wear off rust sets in. I have personally seen an 18 year-old steel roof with significant rusting after the coating was gone. Do yourself a favor, get an Interlock aluminum roof. Dean Landers 5 star review June 9/2026 Janesville WI

The crew was great and easy to work with. They need to advertise their project, and it would be great to have that sign out front. I have had people ask about where I got it done. Everyone was very polite, courteous, and helpful. They answered all of my questions.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Crestwood

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Crestwood, Wisconsin. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Crestwood.

Will metal roofing hold up to Wisconsin's freeze-thaw cycles?

Yes—aluminum actually thrives in freeze-thaw conditions. Your area experiences about 79 freeze-thaw days per year, which is exactly where aluminum's non-corrosive oxide layer and expansion properties outperform brittle materials. Unlike asphalt that cracks and splits, or wood that rots, aluminum flexes through temperature swings without degradation. The 3105-H24 alloy used in Interlock panels is engineered for exactly this cycling. You'll see asphalt shingles fail in 15–20 years around here; Interlock's Guardian Warranty covers cracking and splitting for the life of your home.

How does a metal roof handle Crestwood's snow load and ice dams?

Metal roofing handles snow efficiently because its smooth surface and thermal properties prevent ice dams from forming the way asphalt does. Crestwood averages about 88 cm of snow annually—manageable on a properly pitched metal roof. The four-way interlocking panels stay secure even when snow shifts; wind gusts averaging 22 km/h with peaks near 96 km/h won't lift or separate them. Snow guards are available if you want extra retention. The real advantage: metal doesn't absorb heat like asphalt, so freeze-thaw damage under ice is virtually eliminated. Your roof stays colder and more stable all winter.

Can a metal roof rust in Wisconsin's wet climate?

Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron—that's the fundamental difference between it and steel roofing. Instead, aluminum develops a thin, self-healing oxide layer that actually protects the metal underneath. Every time a scratch exposes fresh aluminum, oxygen immediately reforms that protective layer. This is why Interlock panels have been installed in coastal salt-air environments for over 25 years and still perform flawlessly. In Crestwood, with 822 mm of annual rainfall, corrosion resistance matters enormously. The Alunar 70% PVDF coating on both sides adds 30 years of fade and chalk warranty, but even if that coating wore away, the aluminum substrate would remain sound. Steel would be actively rusting by then.

What's the impact rating on Interlock metal roofing, and can it lower my insurance?

Interlock achieves UL 2218 Class 4—the highest impact rating available—and the Guardian Warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. That's real protection. Many insurers recognize this and offer discounts on metal roofs rated Class 3 or 4, sometimes 10–20% off premiums. Contact your agent with the UL rating; they'll know the drill. Wisconsin hail events are unpredictable, but when they hit, a Class 4 roof gives you peace of mind. Asphalt shingles typically rate Class 1 or 2 and often require replacement after moderate hail. With Interlock, you're looking at a roof that absorbs impact without losing integrity or voiding coverage.

Will a metal roof blow off in Wisconsin wind?

No. The four-way interlocking panel design means each panel locks mechanically to its neighbors in all directions—up, down, left, right. Interlock's warranty covers wind speeds up to 120 mph, well above the gusts you'll see in Crestwood (average sustained winds around 22 km/h with occasional gusts near 96 km/h). Those interlocks prevent uplift and racking, the two ways wind damages roofs. Professional installation to spec is essential, but when done right, this system performs identically whether it's your home or a commercial building in a high-wind zone. You're not relying on nails or sealant to hold the roof on—the geometry does the work.

Do I need to reinforce my house's frame for a metal roof?

No structural reinforcement is needed. Interlock's Slate profile installs at just 0.41 lb/sq ft; the Mediterranean Tile (which mimics actual clay or concrete) weighs only 0.59 lb/sq ft—about 96% lighter than real tile. This matters in Wisconsin because your existing roof structure was built to handle asphalt shingles, which weigh 2–3 lb/sq ft, or wood, which is heavier still. You can install Interlock right over most existing roofs without adding structural support, saving thousands in prep work. The light weight also means no special equipment or reinforced ladders during installation. Your home won't strain under the load; in fact, it's supporting less weight than it was designed for.

Will Interlock metal roofing reduce my cooling costs?

energy-efficient colors reflect heat rather than absorbing it like asphalt does. Thermal emissivity reaches 0.84, and solar reflectance up to 0.55 on lighter finishes like Aged Copper Penny. Over Crestwood's roughly 3128 annual sunshine hours, that reflection compounds. In summer, your attic stays cooler, reducing air-conditioner runtime and lowering bills. Winter benefit too: the low thermal mass means your home sheds radiant heat less quickly than it would under dark asphalt, helping heat retention when you need it. The Cool Roof Rating Council verifies these performance specs. You won't eliminate cooling costs, but real savings accumulate—particularly in transitional seasons when ac/heat cycles frequently.

What maintenance does a metal roof actually need?

Very little. Rinse gutters twice yearly and remove debris; that's about it. Unlike asphalt shingles (which crack, curl, and shed granules), wood shakes (which rot and split), or clay tile (which breaks), aluminum won't degrade or require sealing, re-coating, or patching. The Alunar 70% PVDF finish is warranted 30 years against chalking and fading (ASTM D4214 standard test). With 822 mm of annual rainfall in Crestwood, your roof gets natural cleaning that keeps it looking good. No moss removal, no shingle replacement, no structural inspections for rot. The Guardian Warranty covers loss of impact resistance, so even a hail hit doesn't trigger maintenance costs—it's warranty work. You'll spend less time and money maintaining a metal roof than any other roofing material.

What's the actual lifespan of Interlock roofing, and what does the warranty cover?

The Guardian Warranty is lifetime limited for the original owner—non-prorated material coverage for rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. When you sell, the warranty transfers to the next owner for 50 years from installation completion. That's genuine security. Real-world lifespan? Interlock has been manufacturing since 1998 in Delta, BC, and panels installed in the first year are still performing flawlessly—25+ years in service. Your roof should easily last 50–70 years, compared to asphalt's 15–20 year lifespan in Wisconsin's climate. The non-prorated structure means there's no gradual reduction in coverage; you're protected the whole way. That's why it's often called the last roof you'll buy.

Does Interlock have local installers serving Crestwood?

Yes. Interlock Metal Roofing has served this region since 2001, so they know Kenosha County's weather patterns, building codes, and typical roof structures. A local installer means faster response times, warranty service within your community, and crews familiar with frozen ground, ice dams, and the specific challenges of Wisconsin winters. They're trained on the four-way interlocking system and ICC-ES ESR-1790 compliance (reissued 2025 for current building codes). When you call for an estimate, you're talking to people who've installed hundreds of Interlock roofs in your climate, not a national chain sending unfamiliar crews. That experience translates directly to proper installation, trouble-free operation, and confidence your warranty will be honored.

Is a metal roof a good choice for Crestwood’s climate?

Yes. Crestwood averages about 88 cm of snow, 822 mm of rain, roughly 79 freeze–thaw days a year, with peak wind gusts near 96 km/h. Interlock® aluminum roofing is wind-rated to 193+ km/h (120 mph), UL 2218 Class 4 impact-rated and Class A fire-rated, and its four-way interlocking panels shed snow and resist ice dams and freeze–thaw cracking — all backed by a lifetime limited, transferable warranty.
