What our customers are saying:
Your home is your greatest investment, sheltering you from the storms. Don’t nickel and dime yourself when choosing a roof, you get what you pay for. We chose Interlock aluminum roofing for our house, and are totally pleased with it. Aluminum doesn’t rust period. The current rage of steel roofing is a racket preying on uninformed consumers who want something for next to nothing. Steel roofs are coated to prevent rust. However, once these coatings wear off rust sets in. I have personally seen an 18 year-old steel roof with significant rusting after the coating was gone. Do yourself a favor, get an Interlock aluminum roof. Dean Landers 5 star review June 9/2026 Janesville WI
I had Interlock put on a beautiful red slate roof 17 years ago.The roof still looks beautiful. 5 years ago, I had them also re-roof my garage with the same type of slate. The roofs look gorgeous and I have no maintenance whatsoever.I get complements all the time. The guy whom I contracted with was named "Tim' but has since died. He was a really nice guy. Back in 2009, the roof was much cheaper. ( I actually paid more for the garage 5 years ago!) I am extremely happy with the roofs. The guys did a wonderful job, replacing rotted boards where necessary. They also told me about very cheap gutters I could buy at Menards instead of those ridiculously - priced "special" gutter systems. I bought them and they placed them on my buildings. This home will go to my daughter one day; I do not want her to have to lift a finger. Note that I had an asphalt roof previously. It lasted only 12 years. The shingles curled up under the sun and cracked. They looked terrible. I can honestly say that these metals roofs by Interlock are very much worth what you pay for them. They will last a lifetime with almost no maintenance. Instead of replacing a roof every 15 years and paying lots for asphalt or fiberglass, their metal roofs last very long and you will never have to re- roof again.
Our experience with having our Interlock roof installed was exceptional. It was installed during the hottest days of the year, and none of our neighbors could believe the installers were working so hard during the hot, muggy weather. They finished several days ahead of schedule and left the yard clean and neat, even after a complete tear-off of three layers of roofing. One day during the installation, we had a rain storm, and the installers all took shelter in their vehicles. I noticed that we had a leak in a spot that had clearly had leaks before we bought the house. When I pointed it out to the installers, they went up the ladder in the pouring rain, found the cause of the problem (which, again, was a pre-existing problem, not one due to the Interlock installation) and fixed it on the spot. The service was exceptional.
We purchased our roof in 2009 and as you can see from the pictures taken in May of 2017, our roof looks as new as the day we bought it. Here are the things we have noticed most about our Interlock Lifetime Roof over the last 8 years. It keeps our house much cooler in the summer than the asphalt roof we used to have. It really sheds snow, and the snow guards work great. We never need to use a snow rake. We love the durability and the curb appeal. Greg Weber our representative, who we were enthused to learn, is still with the company. When we saw him in 2009 he laid out all the variables in a professional way and our Interlock Roof has lived up to all of our expectations and promises he made. All companies promise results, service, and quality. Interlock delivers.
The installation was super smooth. Every installer was courteous and professional. We get lots of compliments, and people stop by all the time to admire it. One of the biggest misconceptions about metal roofing is people think it’s loud. Our Interlock roof is very silent. The only way I know if it’s raining is if I look out a window. Also, the snow just slides off. We are also in a wind tunnel area, and we have never lost an Interlock shingle, and we have had the roof for many years. We were so pleased with our Interlock roof that we put the same roof on our lake home in northern Wisconsin. We get a lot more snow up there and the Interlock’s snow-shedding performance capabilities are second to none on that roof, too!
First off, the installation crew was great! They worked very hard, took short breaks, and completed the job very efficiently. Greg Weber, our sales representative, told us an Interlock Roof was more energy efficient than asphalt, and one of the major things we noticed over the years is how much cooler our home office upstairs is in the summertime and warmer it is in the wintertime. It’s a dramatic difference from our old asphalt roof. We have had a few neighbors even question why we invested more in an Interlock roof than a typical asphalt roof, and we always smile and say, “Everybody complains about spending money. Do you want to complain about it once or multiple times, and do you want to be all in to have the best, or not in, and hope for the best.” Thank you, Interlock!
Dear Interlock Lifetime Roofing Systems, The installation was terrific. Jessie and his crew were very nice, polite, and clean and worked together like a well-oiled machine. If I was to have work done on my home for any type of project, this is the team I would recommend and would want to work on my house. Greg Weber, my sales representative, answered all my questions, set the proper expectations, and over delivered in every aspect. We had a major rainstorm shortly after the installation, and we noticed no difference in sound at all. Our Interlock roof is the talk of the neighborhood.
Dear Interlock Lifetime Roofing Systems: We purchased our Interlock Lifetime Roof in June 2014. We are very happy with the look, durability of the material, and finish. After a snowfall, the heat of the sun will warm the roof and allow the snow to shed from the roof. We have a great sense of security, knowing it can withstand higher winds than conventional asphalt. In fact, our neighbors lost many shingles in the last major wind storm, and our Interlock roof proved to be the high wind resistance product it is with all shingles intact. We love the fact it’s more reliable and has peace of mind knowing it has lots of longevity and will look brand new not only now but down the road. We also received a discount on our homeowner’s insurance. Overall, we were very satisfied with our sales representative Greg Weber, the company, the service, and the product.
We have been do-it-yourselfer homeowners our whole lives. We are very handy and capable when it comes to home improvements and appreciate craftsmanship and quality. And that’s what Interlock Lifetime Roofing Systems provided us with our roof. Craftsmanship and quality. Plus, durability, beauty, and experience from a company that manufactures and certify install its own product. That is something, a company that makes its own product, that was very important to us, and no other company in our market offered that, except Interlock. Another thing that was important was we didn’t want to have to deal with rust because many steel metal roofs look good new but look old and hideous down the road because of fading and rusting. Interlock is aluminum. So, it won’t rust, and it achieves and exceeds the highest rating of hail resistance. So, it’s like we said earlier – super durable! Jessie and his crew were super and hard working. We were amazed by their work ethic. That’s something that’s becoming rare nowadays. Also, we were told by a competitor that Greg Weber and Interlock would be high-pressure. That was the furthest thing from the truth. Greg was polite, personable, and knowledgeable and helped us sift through the “lesser quality, cheaper installation, sales gimmicky and overly aggressive” competitors. He provided us with a detailed range of the competition by laying out all the variables so we could make an intelligent comparison and decision. Greg helped save us a lot of time from all the other companies in our market selling what everyone else is selling or just selling stuff and making promises they can’t keep. All the asphalt guys want you to believe that their products will last, and all the steel companies want you to believe their products won’t rust, and everybody knows… That’s Just Not True! Interlock has proven itself for over four decades. That’s Impressive. That’s why we went with them, Jessie and Greg.
In March 2017 we had an Interlock Lifetime Roof installed. Greg Weber, the salesman, was not pushy. We were very impressed with his salesmanship and the product. He also offered to have the Interlock product put on our wishing well in the front yard. That was something we really appreciated. The clean-up was excellent! Many neighbors and people who " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">walk by the house have noticed the roof and asked a lot of questions. We have gotten lots of compliments!
We visited the booth Interlock had at the Remodelling Show at State Fair Park. We got a lot of excellent information there and left our number for a call-back. We did receive the call back promptly and got an appointment right away. The estimator showed up on time and thoroughly explained the process, the product choices and the costs. We signed up for a new metal roof that evening because the advantages were so many, and the expense over time was not much different from regular shingles. This metal roof will probably outlive us! The actual work didn’t start for about two months because the company was very busy, but removing the old layers of shingles was the first process. This was done in a day, and the waterproofing membrane went on. The roofing materials were supposed to be delivered in a couple of days, which unfortunately didn’t happen. The actual work didn’t start for about two months because the company was very busy, but removing the old layers of shingles was the first process. This was done in a day, and the waterproofing membrane went on. The roofing materials were supposed to be delivered in a couple of days, which unfortunately didn’t happen. Instead, a heavy, rainy week intervened, and we did get water in our kitchen. It took a while to get someone to call me back and that was frustrating because it damaged our kitchen ceiling. Ultimately, though, I did get a call, and the work was expedited to the following day. The roofers did the entire installation in one day and did a great job. The roof is beautiful, and we have many people stopping and looking at the wonderful work and superior materials. I know the company will honor their promise to pay for the damage to the kitchen. Once that is done, all is well. The experience wasn’t perfect, but it was as close as mother nature and shipping glitches allowed.
The Interlock crew was able to take some extra time to coordinate with another contractor for solar installation. As a result, the final the result looks great and very functional. The materials used are very high quality, and they worked efficiently and cleaned up when finished.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Fox River
The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Fox River, Wisconsin. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Fox River.
Why does aluminum roofing handle Wisconsin's freeze-thaw cycles better than asphalt?
Aluminum expands and contracts uniformly without degrading; asphalt becomes brittle and cracks under repeated freezing and thawing. Fox River experiences about 80 freeze-thaw days per year, which causes traditional shingles to split and curl. Interlock's 3105-H24 aluminum alloy maintains its elasticity year after year. The four-way interlocking system also accommodates movement without separating. After 26 years of installations from coastal climates to Antarctica, the material has proven it won't degrade from this cycle. Asphalt typically fails within 15–20 years here; Interlock carries a lifetime limited material warranty.
How does a metal roof handle snow load and ice dams in Fox River winters?
Metal's smooth surface sheds snow and ice more effectively than asphalt, reducing ice-dam formation that causes water backup and leaks. Fox River averages about 82 centimeters of snow annually. Interlock's Slate and Cedar Shingle profiles feature micro-texturing that grips snow safely without trapping moisture, while the interlocked seams prevent water from working beneath the surface. The system can be ordered with snow guards to meet your specific roof pitch and exposure. Unlike heavy tile or slate, aluminum's light weight (Shingle at 0.41 lb/sq ft) means no structural reinforcement is required, and the roof won't stress your framing during heavy snow events.
Can a metal roof withstand Wisconsin wind and lake-effect gusts?
Yes. Interlock's four-way interlocking panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph when installed to specification. Fox River's typical daily-max winds reach about 20 km/h, but gusts can spike to 99 km/h—conditions that test a roof's integrity. The interlocking geometry distributes lateral stress across the entire roof plane rather than concentrating it on individual fasteners. Unlike shingles that lift and tear, the locked seams remain secure. This design earned ICC-ES evaluation ESR-1790 compliance with current IBC/IRC standards. Many homeowners in exposed locations have reported their metal roofs performing flawlessly through windstorms that damaged neighboring asphalt roofs.
Does a metal roof reduce hail damage and insurance premiums?
Interlock achieves UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Class 4 rating qualifies many homeowners for insurance discounts because the roof resists damage that would total an asphalt roof. Some insurers offer 10–20% premium reductions for Class 4 metal roofs. Fox River's climate history and typical spring/summer convection patterns mean hail is a real risk; switching to a Class 4 roof removes that claim frequency from your record. Unlike asphalt, which fractures and requires replacement after large hail, aluminum deflects impact without permanent deformation. Contact your agent to confirm available discounts—many have already recognized this protection.
Can I install a metal roof that looks like tile without reinforcing my roof structure?
Yes. Interlock's Mediterranean Tile profile weighs about 0.59 lb/sq ft—roughly 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile—so no structural reinforcement is necessary. Most Fox River homes can simply install over their existing roof, which also adds an insulation layer and reduces tear-off labor and landfill waste. Concrete tile can weigh 12–15 lb/sq ft and often requires framing upgrades costing thousands. Interlock's ICC-ES evaluation ESR-1790 confirms the lightweight aluminum achieves the same fire and wind performance as heavier materials. You get authentic tile aesthetics with the practical advantage of installation on nearly any existing structure.
Will a metal roof reduce cooling costs in summer?
energy-efficient Interlock colors reflect solar heat rather than absorb it, reducing cooling load during Wisconsin's warmer months. Reflectance values reach up to 0.55 (Aged Copper Penny profile), and all qualifying colors have thermal emissivity of 0.84, both measured and rated by the Cool Roof Rating Council. This is significant because asphalt roofs absorb heat and re-radiate it into the attic. Over Fox River's roughly 3,094 sunshine hours per year, that differential compounds. A reflective metal roof can lower attic temperatures by 20–40°F compared to dark asphalt, reducing AC runtime and extending compressor life. Combined with the lifetime warranty, the energy savings justify the upgrade within 10–15 years for most households.
What makes Interlock's lifetime warranty actually valuable?
The Guardian warranty is a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner—meaning no depreciation schedule—covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. It's transferable once, providing the next owner 50 years from completion. This differs sharply from asphalt warranties, which pro-rate after year 10 and cover only manufacturing defects, not normal wear. Interlock has manufactured since 1998, and the company backs every roof installed since 2001 in Wisconsin. If a panel fails outside manufacturing defect, it's replaced at no material cost. For a Fox River home where you might stay 15–25 years, that warranty confidence is rare. Resale value also benefits because the next owner inherits decades of remaining protection.
How much maintenance does a metal roof actually need?
Metal roofs require virtually no maintenance beyond occasional gutter clearing. Unlike asphalt shingles that degrade from UV and thermal cycling, or wood shake that splits and rots, Interlock's aluminum oxide layer and 30-year Alunar PVDF coating are self-maintaining. Asphalt roofs in climates like Fox River—with about 80 freeze-thaw days per year and 835 mm rainfall—need algae treatment, sealant reapplication, and shingle replacement within 15–20 years. Wood shake demands annual inspection and costly repairs. Interlock's CALGreen verification confirms reduced maintenance burden. No adhesive strips, no granule loss, no moss growth on the smooth aluminum surface. You'll never re-seal a metal roof. Most owners report a inspection every 5 years is sufficient and costs little.
Who installs Interlock metal roofing in Fox River?
Interlock Metal Roofing has served the Fox River region since 2001, providing direct installation and warranty support from our local team. We understand Kenosha County's climate demands—the heavy snowfall averaging 82 centimeters, the freeze-thaw intensity at roughly 80 cycles per year, and wind gusts reaching 99 km/h. Our installers are trained on all five Interlock profiles (Slate, Cedar Shingle, Shake, Mediterranean Tile, Standing Seam) and ICC-ES ESR-1790 compliance procedures. We handle permit coordination, roof inspections, installation scheduling, and warranty claims directly. Unlike distant contractors, we're here to oversee long-term performance and address any concerns. Call us for a site evaluation and proposal; most Fox River projects start within 2–3 weeks of approval.
Is a metal roof fire-safe?
Aluminum is non-combustible and Interlock roofing achieves Class A fire classification—the highest available—because the aluminum substrate cannot ignite or spread flame. This is especially valuable in Wisconsin, where wildfires occasionally threaten rural and suburban properties. Class A rating also reduces insurance premiums for some policies and may qualify you for higher coverage limits. The ICC-ES evaluation ESR-1790 confirms the fire rating under current building codes. Asphalt shingles are combustible and typically achieve Class C at best. If your property is in a high-fire-risk zone or near wooded areas, the non-combustible metal roof provides peace of mind and measurable risk reduction. Check with your homeowner's insurer about premium adjustments and coverage benefits.
