What our customers are saying:
Your home is your greatest investment, sheltering you from the storms. Don’t nickel and dime yourself when choosing a roof, you get what you pay for. We chose Interlock aluminum roofing for our house, and are totally pleased with it. Aluminum doesn’t rust period. The current rage of steel roofing is a racket preying on uninformed consumers who want something for next to nothing. Steel roofs are coated to prevent rust. However, once these coatings wear off rust sets in. I have personally seen an 18 year-old steel roof with significant rusting after the coating was gone. Do yourself a favor, get an Interlock aluminum roof. Dean Landers 5 star review June 9/2026 Janesville WI
I had Interlock put on a beautiful red slate roof 17 years ago.The roof still looks beautiful. 5 years ago, I had them also re-roof my garage with the same type of slate. The roofs look gorgeous and I have no maintenance whatsoever.I get complements all the time. The guy whom I contracted with was named "Tim' but has since died. He was a really nice guy. Back in 2009, the roof was much cheaper. ( I actually paid more for the garage 5 years ago!) I am extremely happy with the roofs. The guys did a wonderful job, replacing rotted boards where necessary. They also told me about very cheap gutters I could buy at Menards instead of those ridiculously - priced "special" gutter systems. I bought them and they placed them on my buildings. This home will go to my daughter one day; I do not want her to have to lift a finger. Note that I had an asphalt roof previously. It lasted only 12 years. The shingles curled up under the sun and cracked. They looked terrible. I can honestly say that these metals roofs by Interlock are very much worth what you pay for them. They will last a lifetime with almost no maintenance. Instead of replacing a roof every 15 years and paying lots for asphalt or fiberglass, their metal roofs last very long and you will never have to re- roof again.
Our experience with having our Interlock roof installed was exceptional. It was installed during the hottest days of the year, and none of our neighbors could believe the installers were working so hard during the hot, muggy weather. They finished several days ahead of schedule and left the yard clean and neat, even after a complete tear-off of three layers of roofing. One day during the installation, we had a rain storm, and the installers all took shelter in their vehicles. I noticed that we had a leak in a spot that had clearly had leaks before we bought the house. When I pointed it out to the installers, they went up the ladder in the pouring rain, found the cause of the problem (which, again, was a pre-existing problem, not one due to the Interlock installation) and fixed it on the spot. The service was exceptional.
We purchased our roof in 2009 and as you can see from the pictures taken in May of 2017, our roof looks as new as the day we bought it. Here are the things we have noticed most about our Interlock Lifetime Roof over the last 8 years. It keeps our house much cooler in the summer than the asphalt roof we used to have. It really sheds snow, and the snow guards work great. We never need to use a snow rake. We love the durability and the curb appeal. Greg Weber our representative, who we were enthused to learn, is still with the company. When we saw him in 2009 he laid out all the variables in a professional way and our Interlock Roof has lived up to all of our expectations and promises he made. All companies promise results, service, and quality. Interlock delivers.
The installation was super smooth. Every installer was courteous and professional. We get lots of compliments, and people stop by all the time to admire it. One of the biggest misconceptions about metal roofing is people think it’s loud. Our Interlock roof is very silent. The only way I know if it’s raining is if I look out a window. Also, the snow just slides off. We are also in a wind tunnel area, and we have never lost an Interlock shingle, and we have had the roof for many years. We were so pleased with our Interlock roof that we put the same roof on our lake home in northern Wisconsin. We get a lot more snow up there and the Interlock’s snow-shedding performance capabilities are second to none on that roof, too!
First off, the installation crew was great! They worked very hard, took short breaks, and completed the job very efficiently. Greg Weber, our sales representative, told us an Interlock Roof was more energy efficient than asphalt, and one of the major things we noticed over the years is how much cooler our home office upstairs is in the summertime and warmer it is in the wintertime. It’s a dramatic difference from our old asphalt roof. We have had a few neighbors even question why we invested more in an Interlock roof than a typical asphalt roof, and we always smile and say, “Everybody complains about spending money. Do you want to complain about it once or multiple times, and do you want to be all in to have the best, or not in, and hope for the best.” Thank you, Interlock!
Dear Interlock Lifetime Roofing Systems, The installation was terrific. Jessie and his crew were very nice, polite, and clean and worked together like a well-oiled machine. If I was to have work done on my home for any type of project, this is the team I would recommend and would want to work on my house. Greg Weber, my sales representative, answered all my questions, set the proper expectations, and over delivered in every aspect. We had a major rainstorm shortly after the installation, and we noticed no difference in sound at all. Our Interlock roof is the talk of the neighborhood.
Dear Interlock Lifetime Roofing Systems: We purchased our Interlock Lifetime Roof in June 2014. We are very happy with the look, durability of the material, and finish. After a snowfall, the heat of the sun will warm the roof and allow the snow to shed from the roof. We have a great sense of security, knowing it can withstand higher winds than conventional asphalt. In fact, our neighbors lost many shingles in the last major wind storm, and our Interlock roof proved to be the high wind resistance product it is with all shingles intact. We love the fact it’s more reliable and has peace of mind knowing it has lots of longevity and will look brand new not only now but down the road. We also received a discount on our homeowner’s insurance. Overall, we were very satisfied with our sales representative Greg Weber, the company, the service, and the product.
We have been do-it-yourselfer homeowners our whole lives. We are very handy and capable when it comes to home improvements and appreciate craftsmanship and quality. And that’s what Interlock Lifetime Roofing Systems provided us with our roof. Craftsmanship and quality. Plus, durability, beauty, and experience from a company that manufactures and certify install its own product. That is something, a company that makes its own product, that was very important to us, and no other company in our market offered that, except Interlock. Another thing that was important was we didn’t want to have to deal with rust because many steel metal roofs look good new but look old and hideous down the road because of fading and rusting. Interlock is aluminum. So, it won’t rust, and it achieves and exceeds the highest rating of hail resistance. So, it’s like we said earlier – super durable! Jessie and his crew were super and hard working. We were amazed by their work ethic. That’s something that’s becoming rare nowadays. Also, we were told by a competitor that Greg Weber and Interlock would be high-pressure. That was the furthest thing from the truth. Greg was polite, personable, and knowledgeable and helped us sift through the “lesser quality, cheaper installation, sales gimmicky and overly aggressive” competitors. He provided us with a detailed range of the competition by laying out all the variables so we could make an intelligent comparison and decision. Greg helped save us a lot of time from all the other companies in our market selling what everyone else is selling or just selling stuff and making promises they can’t keep. All the asphalt guys want you to believe that their products will last, and all the steel companies want you to believe their products won’t rust, and everybody knows… That’s Just Not True! Interlock has proven itself for over four decades. That’s Impressive. That’s why we went with them, Jessie and Greg.
In March 2017 we had an Interlock Lifetime Roof installed. Greg Weber, the salesman, was not pushy. We were very impressed with his salesmanship and the product. He also offered to have the Interlock product put on our wishing well in the front yard. That was something we really appreciated. The clean-up was excellent! Many neighbors and people who " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">walk by the house have noticed the roof and asked a lot of questions. We have gotten lots of compliments!
We visited the booth Interlock had at the Remodelling Show at State Fair Park. We got a lot of excellent information there and left our number for a call-back. We did receive the call back promptly and got an appointment right away. The estimator showed up on time and thoroughly explained the process, the product choices and the costs. We signed up for a new metal roof that evening because the advantages were so many, and the expense over time was not much different from regular shingles. This metal roof will probably outlive us! The actual work didn’t start for about two months because the company was very busy, but removing the old layers of shingles was the first process. This was done in a day, and the waterproofing membrane went on. The roofing materials were supposed to be delivered in a couple of days, which unfortunately didn’t happen. The actual work didn’t start for about two months because the company was very busy, but removing the old layers of shingles was the first process. This was done in a day, and the waterproofing membrane went on. The roofing materials were supposed to be delivered in a couple of days, which unfortunately didn’t happen. Instead, a heavy, rainy week intervened, and we did get water in our kitchen. It took a while to get someone to call me back and that was frustrating because it damaged our kitchen ceiling. Ultimately, though, I did get a call, and the work was expedited to the following day. The roofers did the entire installation in one day and did a great job. The roof is beautiful, and we have many people stopping and looking at the wonderful work and superior materials. I know the company will honor their promise to pay for the damage to the kitchen. Once that is done, all is well. The experience wasn’t perfect, but it was as close as mother nature and shipping glitches allowed.
The Interlock crew was able to take some extra time to coordinate with another contractor for solar installation. As a result, the final the result looks great and very functional. The materials used are very high quality, and they worked efficiently and cleaned up when finished.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Silver Lake Highlands
The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Silver Lake Highlands, Wisconsin. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Silver Lake Highlands.
How does a metal roof handle the snow and ice buildup we get in Kenosha County?
Metal roofing sheds snow and ice far more effectively than asphalt because the smooth, hard surface and tight seams prevent moisture infiltration that causes ice dams. Silver Lake Highlands receives about 82 cm of snow yearly, and freeze-thaw cycles occur roughly 80 days per year—conditions that break down asphalt's granules and cause curling. Interlock's four-way interlocking aluminum panels and Class 4 hail rating mean ice and snow slides off safely without damage to the roof itself. The metal won't split, crack, or lose integrity as temperatures swing above and below freezing.
Will freeze-thaw cycles in Wisconsin damage an aluminum metal roof?
No—aluminum thrives through freeze-thaw because it expands and contracts uniformly without weakening. Unlike asphalt, which becomes brittle when cold, or wood shakes, which split as water freezes inside the fibers, roofing-grade 3105-H24 aluminum flexes safely through 80+ annual freeze-thaw days in this region. The Alunar 70% PVDF coating, warranted 30 years against chalking and fading per ASTM standards, protects the metal surface itself. Silver Lake Highlands sees about 835 mm of rain per year plus 82 cm of snow; the combination accelerates asphalt degradation but leaves aluminum unaffected because it cannot rust or rot.
Do I need to reinforce my roof structure to install metal roofing over my existing roof?
No structural reinforcement is needed. Interlock's Mediterranean Tile profile weighs just 0.59 lb/sq ft—about 96% lighter than real concrete or clay tile—so most homes can handle the added weight without any structural changes. The Slate profile installs at similar minimal weight. Because of this feather-light construction, your roofing contractor can install Interlock directly over your existing asphalt shingles in most cases, avoiding a costly tear-off. You get the authentic appearance of traditional heavy materials with none of the structural cost or burden on your home's frame.
Can a metal roof stand up to Wisconsin wind gusts?
Yes—Interlock metal roofing is warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph when installed to specification. Silver Lake Highlands experiences typical daily winds of about 20 km/h with gusts reaching 99 km/h, well below that threshold. The four-way interlocking panel design locks each piece to its neighbors, distributing wind load across the entire roof system so no single panel bears the stress alone. This mechanical redundancy is why the warranty covers wind resistance: the design is proven, not just tested once. Your insurance company may also recognize this durability when reviewing your policy.
What is the hail rating on Interlock metal roofing, and could it lower my insurance costs?
Interlock carries a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Class 4 is the gold standard that insurers recognize and often reward with premium discounts because claims are extremely rare. Silver Lake Highlands' 80+ freeze-thaw days and wind gusts to 99 km/h mean weather events are common, so a roof with Class 4 durability signals lower long-term risk to your insurer. Contact your insurance agent with the product spec sheet; many carriers will reduce your premium once you install a roof rated to this level, potentially offsetting installation costs over time.
What does the warranty on Interlock metal roofing actually cover?
The Guardian is a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner—covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. It's also one-time transferable, giving the next owner 50 years of coverage from the completion date. Unlike prorated warranties that decline year by year, you get full coverage for life. The Alunar coating carries a separate 30-year warranty against fading and chalking. For a homeowner in Silver Lake Highlands facing 82 cm of annual snow, 80 freeze-thaw cycles, and 835 mm of rain, this means your roof's material integrity is guaranteed for decades, and your home's next owner inherits that protection.
Is metal roofing more expensive than asphalt shingles over the life of the roof?
Metal roofing costs more upfront but dramatically less over the roof's actual lifespan. A typical asphalt roof lasts 15–20 years in Wisconsin's freeze-thaw climate before needing replacement; in that same 20 years, you'll tear off and replace asphalt once, paying for labor and landfill disposal twice. An Interlock metal roof is covered for life by a non-prorated warranty and typically outlasts three asphalt cycles. The lightweight aluminum also installs over your existing roof, eliminating tear-off costs on the first installation. When you factor in zero maintenance, no seasonal repairs, and the lifetime warranty, metal becomes your last roof—and the most economical choice across 40–60 years of ownership.
Is metal roofing actually more environmentally friendly than asphalt?
Yes—aluminum is about 95% recyclable, meaning your roof can be reclaimed and reused indefinitely rather than buried in a landfill. Asphalt shingles, by contrast, are torn off every 15–20 years in Wisconsin's climate and sent to waste facilities. Over just 40 years, a home replaces asphalt two or three times, sending tons of material to landfill each cycle. Interlock panels, installed over your existing roof, eliminate that tear-off waste from the start. At end of life, aluminum roofing has real scrap value and genuine reuse paths. CALGreen has verified Interlock for reduced maintenance burden, lowering your environmental footprint year-round compared to shingles that degrade and require replacement.
Who installs Interlock metal roofing in Silver Lake Highlands?
Interlock Metal Roofing has been serving this region since 2001 and has the expertise to install every profile available—Slate, Cedar Shingle, Shake, Standing Seam, and Mediterranean Tile—on homes throughout Kenosha County. The installer understands local snow loads (about 82 cm annually), freeze-thaw dynamics (roughly 80 days per year), and wind patterns (gusts to 99 km/h) that shape roof durability in this climate. Because Interlock is both the manufacturer and installer in this area, you're not dealing with a middleman; you get direct access to the product knowledge behind the four-way interlocking system, the ICC-ES ESR-1790 code compliance, and the Guardian Warranty. Call to discuss your home's specific needs.
Can I save money on cooling costs with a metal roof in Wisconsin?
Yes—Interlock offers energy-efficient colors with thermal emissivity up to 0.84 and initial solar reflectance reaching 0.55 in Aged Copper Penny, reflecting heat that asphalt absorbs and converts to indoor warmth. Over a Wisconsin summer with about 3094 sunshine hours per year, even modest heat reflection reduces air conditioning load and lowers utility bills. The Cool Roof Rating Council rating confirms these reflective properties under real-world conditions. In winter, the insulating air gap between the metal and solid deck prevents radiant loss just as effectively. You're also eliminating the dark granule absorption that makes asphalt roofs significantly hotter than the surrounding air—a benefit that compounds every sunny day.
