Your home is your greatest investment, sheltering you from the storms. Don’t nickel and dime yourself when choosing a roof, you get what you pay for. We chose Interlock aluminum roofing for our house, and are totally pleased with it. Aluminum doesn’t rust period. The current rage of steel roofing is a racket preying on uninformed consumers who want something for next to nothing. Steel roofs are coated to prevent rust. However, once these coatings wear off rust sets in. I have personally seen an 18 year-old steel roof with significant rusting after the coating was gone. Do yourself a favor, get an Interlock aluminum roof. Dean Landers 5 star review June 9/2026 Janesville WI

I had Interlock put on a beautiful red slate roof 17 years ago.The roof still looks beautiful. 5 years ago, I had them also re-roof my garage with the same type of slate. The roofs look gorgeous and I have no maintenance whatsoever.I get complements all the time. The guy whom I contracted with was named "Tim' but has since died. He was a really nice guy. Back in 2009, the roof was much cheaper. ( I actually paid more for the garage 5 years ago!) I am extremely happy with the roofs. The guys did a wonderful job, replacing rotted boards where necessary. They also told me about very cheap gutters I could buy at Menards instead of those ridiculously - priced "special" gutter systems. I bought them and they placed them on my buildings. This home will go to my daughter one day; I do not want her to have to lift a finger. Note that I had an asphalt roof previously. It lasted only 12 years. The shingles curled up under the sun and cracked. They looked terrible. I can honestly say that these metals roofs by Interlock are very much worth what you pay for them. They will last a lifetime with almost no maintenance. Instead of replacing a roof every 15 years and paying lots for asphalt or fiberglass, their metal roofs last very long and you will never have to re- roof again.

Review: May 17, 2017

Our experience with having our Interlock roof installed was exceptional. It was installed during the hottest days of the year, and none of our neighbors could believe the installers were working so hard during the hot, muggy weather. They finished several days ahead of schedule and left the yard clean and neat, even after a complete tear-off of three layers of roofing. One day during the installation, we had a rain storm, and the installers all took shelter in their vehicles. I noticed that we had a leak in a spot that had clearly had leaks before we bought the house. When I pointed it out to the installers, they went up the ladder in the pouring rain, found the cause of the problem (which, again, was a pre-existing problem, not one due to the Interlock installation) and fixed it on the spot. The service was exceptional.

Review: May 17, 2017

We purchased our roof in 2009 and as you can see from the pictures taken in May of 2017, our roof looks as new as the day we bought it. Here are the things we have noticed most about our Interlock Lifetime Roof over the last 8 years. It keeps our house much cooler in the summer than the asphalt roof we used to have. It really sheds snow, and the snow guards work great. We never need to use a snow rake. We love the durability and the curb appeal. Greg Weber our representative, who we were enthused to learn, is still with the company. When we saw him in 2009 he laid out all the variables in a professional way and our Interlock Roof has lived up to all of our expectations and promises he made. All companies promise results, service, and quality. Interlock delivers.

Review: May 16, 2017

The installation was super smooth. Every installer was courteous and professional. We get lots of compliments, and people stop by all the time to admire it. One of the biggest misconceptions about metal roofing is people think it’s loud. Our Interlock roof is very silent. The only way I know if it’s raining is if I look out a window. Also, the snow just slides off. We are also in a wind tunnel area, and we have never lost an Interlock shingle, and we have had the roof for many years. We were so pleased with our Interlock roof that we put the same roof on our lake home in northern Wisconsin. We get a lot more snow up there and the Interlock’s snow-shedding performance capabilities are second to none on that roof, too!

Review: May 16, 2017

First off, the installation crew was great! They worked very hard, took short breaks, and completed the job very efficiently. Greg Weber, our sales representative, told us an Interlock Roof was more energy efficient than asphalt, and one of the major things we noticed over the years is how much cooler our home office upstairs is in the summertime and warmer it is in the wintertime. It’s a dramatic difference from our old asphalt roof. We have had a few neighbors even question why we invested more in an Interlock roof than a typical asphalt roof, and we always smile and say, “Everybody complains about spending money. Do you want to complain about it once or multiple times, and do you want to be all in to have the best, or not in, and hope for the best.” Thank you, Interlock!

Review: May 16, 2017

Dear Interlock Lifetime Roofing Systems, The installation was terrific. Jessie and his crew were very nice, polite, and clean and worked together like a well-oiled machine. If I was to have work done on my home for any type of project, this is the team I would recommend and would want to work on my house. Greg Weber, my sales representative, answered all my questions, set the proper expectations, and over delivered in every aspect. We had a major rainstorm shortly after the installation, and we noticed no difference in sound at all. Our Interlock roof is the talk of the neighborhood.

Review: May 16, 2017

Dear Interlock Lifetime Roofing Systems: We purchased our Interlock Lifetime Roof in June 2014. We are very happy with the look, durability of the material, and finish. After a snowfall, the heat of the sun will warm the roof and allow the snow to shed from the roof. We have a great sense of security, knowing it can withstand higher winds than conventional asphalt. In fact, our neighbors lost many shingles in the last major wind storm, and our Interlock roof proved to be the high wind resistance product it is with all shingles intact. We love the fact it’s more reliable and has peace of mind knowing it has lots of longevity and will look brand new not only now but down the road. We also received a discount on our homeowner’s insurance. Overall, we were very satisfied with our sales representative Greg Weber, the company, the service, and the product.

Review: May 16, 2017

We have been do-it-yourselfer homeowners our whole lives. We are very handy and capable when it comes to home improvements and appreciate craftsmanship and quality. And that’s what Interlock Lifetime Roofing Systems provided us with our roof. Craftsmanship and quality. Plus, durability, beauty, and experience from a company that manufactures and certify install its own product. That is something, a company that makes its own product, that was very important to us, and no other company in our market offered that, except Interlock. Another thing that was important was we didn’t want to have to deal with rust because many steel metal roofs look good new but look old and hideous down the road because of fading and rusting. Interlock is aluminum. So, it won’t rust, and it achieves and exceeds the highest rating of hail resistance. So, it’s like we said earlier – super durable! Jessie and his crew were super and hard working. We were amazed by their work ethic. That’s something that’s becoming rare nowadays. Also, we were told by a competitor that Greg Weber and Interlock would be high-pressure. That was the furthest thing from the truth. Greg was polite, personable, and knowledgeable and helped us sift through the “lesser quality, cheaper installation, sales gimmicky and overly aggressive” competitors. He provided us with a detailed range of the competition by laying out all the variables so we could make an intelligent comparison and decision. Greg helped save us a lot of time from all the other companies in our market selling what everyone else is selling or just selling stuff and making promises they can’t keep. All the asphalt guys want you to believe that their products will last, and all the steel companies want you to believe their products won’t rust, and everybody knows… That’s Just Not True! Interlock has proven itself for over four decades. That’s Impressive. That’s why we went with them, Jessie and Greg.

In March 2017 we had an Interlock Lifetime Roof installed. Greg Weber, the salesman, was not pushy. We were very impressed with his salesmanship and the product. He also offered to have the Interlock product put on our wishing well in the front yard. That was something we really appreciated. The clean-up was excellent! Many neighbors and people who " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">walk by the house have noticed the roof and asked a lot of questions. We have gotten lots of compliments!

Review: April 25, 2017

We visited the booth Interlock had at the Remodelling Show at State Fair Park. We got a lot of excellent information there and left our number for a call-back. We did receive the call back promptly and got an appointment right away. The estimator showed up on time and thoroughly explained the process, the product choices and the costs. We signed up for a new metal roof that evening because the advantages were so many, and the expense over time was not much different from regular shingles. This metal roof will probably outlive us! The actual work didn’t start for about two months because the company was very busy, but removing the old layers of shingles was the first process. This was done in a day, and the waterproofing membrane went on. The roofing materials were supposed to be delivered in a couple of days, which unfortunately didn’t happen. Instead, a heavy, rainy week intervened, and we did get water in our kitchen. It took a while to get someone to call me back and that was frustrating because it damaged our kitchen ceiling. Ultimately, though, I did get a call, and the work was expedited to the following day. The roofers did the entire installation in one day and did a great job. The roof is beautiful, and we have many people stopping and looking at the wonderful work and superior materials. I know the company will honor their promise to pay for the damage to the kitchen. Once that is done, all is well. The experience wasn’t perfect, but it was as close as mother nature and shipping glitches allowed.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Randall

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Randall, Wisconsin. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Randall.

How does a metal roof handle Wisconsin's snow and ice in winter?

Interlock's four-way interlocking aluminum panels shed snow effectively while the metal itself expands and contracts smoothly through Randall's roughly 80 freeze-thaw cycles per year without cracking or splitting. The panels are warranted to resist wind gusts up to 120 mph, so heavy snow loading combined with the typical 99 km/h gusts won't compromise the seal. Unlike asphalt shingles that become brittle in repeated freeze-thaw cycles, aluminum's native oxide layer self-heals when scratched by ice or debris, maintaining its integrity through your winters.

Why don't aluminum metal roofs rust like steel ones do?

Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron—rusting requires iron oxidation. Instead, aluminum instantly forms a self-healing oxide layer when exposed to air that protects the underlying metal. In Randall's ~835 mm annual rainfall, this is critical: that oxide layer seals itself even when scratched, so moisture never triggers the corrosion cycle that attacks steel. Interlock uses roofing-grade 3105-H24 aluminum with a Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish applied to both sides, warranted 30 years against chalking and fading, adding an extra corrosion barrier for Wisconsin's wet climate.

Will my metal roof survive Randall's freeze-thaw winters?

Yes—aluminum thrives in freeze-thaw because it expands and contracts uniformly without cracking, splitting, or curling like asphalt or wood. Randall experiences roughly 80 freeze-thaw cycles annually, and asphalt shingles degrade rapidly under this stress; Interlock's aluminum panels flex with temperature swings without loss of structural integrity. The material also sheds water efficiently so meltwater doesn't pool and refreeze in cracks. That's why Interlock has been installed in climates from coastal salt air to Antarctic research stations—freeze-thaw cycling is what metal roofing was designed for.

Can a metal roof withstand Wisconsin wind and storms?

Interlock's four-way interlocking aluminum panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h), well above Randall's typical gusts of 99 km/h. The four-way interlocking design—unique to Interlock—distributes lateral forces across the entire roof plane rather than relying on fasteners alone, so each panel supports its neighbors. This system was validated under ICC-ES evaluation ESR-1790 (the current 2025 reissue) for IBC/IRC compliance, meaning it meets modern building code wind standards. Even during spring and fall storms, the engineering holds.

Does Interlock metal roofing resist hail damage in Wisconsin?

Interlock achieves UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—meaning the panels withstand hailstones up to 1.5 inches without perforation. The warranty explicitly covers hail damage, and the combination of aluminum's inherent hardness with the Alunar fluorocarbon finish creates a surface that resists denting better than asphalt or wood. Many insurance companies offer discounts for Class 4-rated roofs. While Randall's ~3,094 annual sunshine hours suggest hail is not the dominant seasonal risk, the Class 4 rating provides security during spring storm season without adding weight or cost.

Do I need to reinforce my house frame for a metal roof?

No structural reinforcement is needed. Interlock's Mediterranean Tile profile, for example, installs at roughly 0.59 lb/sq ft—about 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile—so it can be installed directly over most existing roof structures and even over old asphalt shingles. Shake runs ~0.58 lb/sq ft and the Shingle profile ~0.41 lb/sq ft. This light weight means no costly framing upgrades, no added strain on your foundation, and easier installation. Traditional tile demands structural reinforcement because of its mass; aluminum's strength-to-weight ratio eliminates that expense while delivering the same visual profile your home deserves.

How much maintenance does an aluminum metal roof really need?

Interlock requires far less maintenance than asphalt, wood, or tile. No replacement of damaged shingles, no wood rot inspections, no tile cracking repairs. Twice-yearly gutter cleaning is standard for any roof in a climate that receives ~835 mm of annual rain. The Alunar fluorocarbon finish, rated 30 years against chalking and fading per ASTM D4214/D2244, resists dirt and algae buildup better than asphalt. You'll never pressure-wash or re-coat it. Interlock is CALGreen-verified for reduced maintenance, which translates directly to lower ownership costs and more time enjoying your home rather than maintaining it.

Is a metal roof worth the upfront cost compared to asphalt shingles?

Yes—when you compare total cost of ownership, not just installation price. Asphalt roofs last 15–20 years in Wisconsin's harsh climate; Interlock comes with a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner and a transferable 50-year term for the next owner. You'll tear off and landfill asphalt two to three times in the lifespan of one aluminum roof. Eliminating multiple replacement cycles, plus avoiding the repair costs of weathering, splits, and curling that plague asphalt in Randall's ~80 annual freeze-thaw days, means metal becomes the last roof you buy. The Guardian Warranty covers rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, and curling—the exact failures that drain asphalt owners' budgets.

Is a metal roof better for the environment than asphalt shingles?

Substantially. Interlock's aluminum is approximately 95% recyclable at end of life, so it cycles back into the economy rather than to landfills. Asphalt shingles, by contrast, are difficult to recycle and generate millions of tons of landfill waste annually. Randall's rainfall of ~835 mm per year accelerates asphalt degradation, meaning you'll tear off and dispose of your shingles every 15–20 years. One aluminum roof ends that cycle for decades. energy-efficient Interlock colors reflect solar heat rather than absorbing it (aged copper achieves 0.55 initial solar reflectance), reducing cooling load. Over the roof's lifetime, you'll cut landfill contribution, extend replacement intervals, and lower energy use—three major environmental wins.

Does Interlock have a local installer serving Randall, Wisconsin?

Yes. Interlock Metal Roofing has served this region since 2001 and understands Wisconsin's freeze-thaw, snow, and wind conditions intimately. Local installation means faster scheduling, easier site visits during the estimate and warranty process, and support from installers familiar with Kenosha County building codes and weather challenges. Interlock has been manufactured in Delta, BC since 1998 and installed across extreme environments—from coastal salt-air homes to Antarctic research stations—so your local installer brings both deep product knowledge and proven field experience to your project. That combination of local access and proven track record protects your investment.
