| Spec / Rating | Climate / Risk Factor + What It Solves |
|---|---|
| Wind resistance: 120+ mph (193+ kph) | Extreme wind, hurricanes, storm uplift: full interlocking attachment helps prevent blow-offs, edge lifting, and panel loss in high-gust events. |
| Fire rating: Class A (with proper assembly) | Wildfire, embers, radiant heat, chimney sparks: non-combustible roof assembly provides the highest residential fire protection rating. |
| Hail resistance: UL 2218 Class 4 | Hail and impact debris: highest impact classification; resists cracking, splitting, and surface loss common with asphalt under hail strikes. |
| Snow & ice performance: interlocking, shedding profile | Heavy snow, freeze-thaw, ice dams: smooth aluminum sheds snow efficiently and the interlocking design helps block water intrusion when melt-refreeze cycles occur. (Final snow-load capacity depends on roof structure and local code.) |
| Corrosion resistance: aluminum (won’t rust) | Salt air, coastal humidity, wet climates: aluminum naturally resists rust and corrosion, reducing long-term failure risk in marine or high-moisture environments. |
| Heat / UV durability: baked-on coating system | High heat, intense sun, thermal cycling: coatings resist UV breakdown and temperature-swing fatigue, slowing fading and surface degradation. |
| Moss / algae resistance: smooth coated surface | Wet shade, organic growth: low-porosity metal surface gives moss/algae less to grip, reducing staining and maintenance. |
| Material: heavy-gauge aluminum roof profiles (Slate / Shake / Shingle / Tile / Standing Seam) | All-season structural stability: lightweight, dent-resistant metal system stays stable through large hot-cold swings and severe weather. |

What our customers are saying:
Your home is your greatest investment, sheltering you from the storms. Don’t nickel and dime yourself when choosing a roof, you get what you pay for. We chose Interlock aluminum roofing for our house, and are totally pleased with it. Aluminum doesn’t rust period. The current rage of steel roofing is a racket preying on uninformed consumers who want something for next to nothing. Steel roofs are coated to prevent rust. However, once these coatings wear off rust sets in. I have personally seen an 18 year-old steel roof with significant rusting after the coating was gone. Do yourself a favor, get an Interlock aluminum roof. Dean Landers 5 star review June 9/2026 Janesville WI
I had Interlock put on a beautiful red slate roof 17 years ago.The roof still looks beautiful. 5 years ago, I had them also re-roof my garage with the same type of slate. The roofs look gorgeous and I have no maintenance whatsoever.I get complements all the time. The guy whom I contracted with was named "Tim' but has since died. He was a really nice guy. Back in 2009, the roof was much cheaper. ( I actually paid more for the garage 5 years ago!) I am extremely happy with the roofs. The guys did a wonderful job, replacing rotted boards where necessary. They also told me about very cheap gutters I could buy at Menards instead of those ridiculously - priced "special" gutter systems. I bought them and they placed them on my buildings. This home will go to my daughter one day; I do not want her to have to lift a finger. Note that I had an asphalt roof previously. It lasted only 12 years. The shingles curled up under the sun and cracked. They looked terrible. I can honestly say that these metals roofs by Interlock are very much worth what you pay for them. They will last a lifetime with almost no maintenance. Instead of replacing a roof every 15 years and paying lots for asphalt or fiberglass, their metal roofs last very long and you will never have to re- roof again.
Our experience with having our Interlock roof installed was exceptional. It was installed during the hottest days of the year, and none of our neighbors could believe the installers were working so hard during the hot, muggy weather. They finished several days ahead of schedule and left the yard clean and neat, even after a complete tear-off of three layers of roofing. One day during the installation, we had a rain storm, and the installers all took shelter in their vehicles. I noticed that we had a leak in a spot that had clearly had leaks before we bought the house. When I pointed it out to the installers, they went up the ladder in the pouring rain, found the cause of the problem (which, again, was a pre-existing problem, not one due to the Interlock installation) and fixed it on the spot. The service was exceptional.
We purchased our roof in 2009 and as you can see from the pictures taken in May of 2017, our roof looks as new as the day we bought it. Here are the things we have noticed most about our Interlock Lifetime Roof over the last 8 years. It keeps our house much cooler in the summer than the asphalt roof we used to have. It really sheds snow, and the snow guards work great. We never need to use a snow rake. We love the durability and the curb appeal. Greg Weber our representative, who we were enthused to learn, is still with the company. When we saw him in 2009 he laid out all the variables in a professional way and our Interlock Roof has lived up to all of our expectations and promises he made. All companies promise results, service, and quality. Interlock delivers.
The installation was super smooth. Every installer was courteous and professional. We get lots of compliments, and people stop by all the time to admire it. One of the biggest misconceptions about metal roofing is people think it’s loud. Our Interlock roof is very silent. The only way I know if it’s raining is if I look out a window. Also, the snow just slides off. We are also in a wind tunnel area, and we have never lost an Interlock shingle, and we have had the roof for many years. We were so pleased with our Interlock roof that we put the same roof on our lake home in northern Wisconsin. We get a lot more snow up there and the Interlock’s snow-shedding performance capabilities are second to none on that roof, too!
First off, the installation crew was great! They worked very hard, took short breaks, and completed the job very efficiently. Greg Weber, our sales representative, told us an Interlock Roof was more energy efficient than asphalt, and one of the major things we noticed over the years is how much cooler our home office upstairs is in the summertime and warmer it is in the wintertime. It’s a dramatic difference from our old asphalt roof. We have had a few neighbors even question why we invested more in an Interlock roof than a typical asphalt roof, and we always smile and say, “Everybody complains about spending money. Do you want to complain about it once or multiple times, and do you want to be all in to have the best, or not in, and hope for the best.” Thank you, Interlock!
Dear Interlock Lifetime Roofing Systems, The installation was terrific. Jessie and his crew were very nice, polite, and clean and worked together like a well-oiled machine. If I was to have work done on my home for any type of project, this is the team I would recommend and would want to work on my house. Greg Weber, my sales representative, answered all my questions, set the proper expectations, and over delivered in every aspect. We had a major rainstorm shortly after the installation, and we noticed no difference in sound at all. Our Interlock roof is the talk of the neighborhood.
Dear Interlock Lifetime Roofing Systems: We purchased our Interlock Lifetime Roof in June 2014. We are very happy with the look, durability of the material, and finish. After a snowfall, the heat of the sun will warm the roof and allow the snow to shed from the roof. We have a great sense of security, knowing it can withstand higher winds than conventional asphalt. In fact, our neighbors lost many shingles in the last major wind storm, and our Interlock roof proved to be the high wind resistance product it is with all shingles intact. We love the fact it’s more reliable and has peace of mind knowing it has lots of longevity and will look brand new not only now but down the road. We also received a discount on our homeowner’s insurance. Overall, we were very satisfied with our sales representative Greg Weber, the company, the service, and the product.
We have been do-it-yourselfer homeowners our whole lives. We are very handy and capable when it comes to home improvements and appreciate craftsmanship and quality. And that’s what Interlock Lifetime Roofing Systems provided us with our roof. Craftsmanship and quality. Plus, durability, beauty, and experience from a company that manufactures and certify install its own product. That is something, a company that makes its own product, that was very important to us, and no other company in our market offered that, except Interlock. Another thing that was important was we didn’t want to have to deal with rust because many steel metal roofs look good new but look old and hideous down the road because of fading and rusting. Interlock is aluminum. So, it won’t rust, and it achieves and exceeds the highest rating of hail resistance. So, it’s like we said earlier – super durable! Jessie and his crew were super and hard working. We were amazed by their work ethic. That’s something that’s becoming rare nowadays. Also, we were told by a competitor that Greg Weber and Interlock would be high-pressure. That was the furthest thing from the truth. Greg was polite, personable, and knowledgeable and helped us sift through the “lesser quality, cheaper installation, sales gimmicky and overly aggressive” competitors. He provided us with a detailed range of the competition by laying out all the variables so we could make an intelligent comparison and decision. Greg helped save us a lot of time from all the other companies in our market selling what everyone else is selling or just selling stuff and making promises they can’t keep. All the asphalt guys want you to believe that their products will last, and all the steel companies want you to believe their products won’t rust, and everybody knows… That’s Just Not True! Interlock has proven itself for over four decades. That’s Impressive. That’s why we went with them, Jessie and Greg.
In March 2017 we had an Interlock Lifetime Roof installed. Greg Weber, the salesman, was not pushy. We were very impressed with his salesmanship and the product. He also offered to have the Interlock product put on our wishing well in the front yard. That was something we really appreciated. The clean-up was excellent! Many neighbors and people who " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">walk by the house have noticed the roof and asked a lot of questions. We have gotten lots of compliments!
We visited the booth Interlock had at the Remodelling Show at State Fair Park. We got a lot of excellent information there and left our number for a call-back. We did receive the call back promptly and got an appointment right away. The estimator showed up on time and thoroughly explained the process, the product choices and the costs. We signed up for a new metal roof that evening because the advantages were so many, and the expense over time was not much different from regular shingles. This metal roof will probably outlive us! The actual work didn’t start for about two months because the company was very busy, but removing the old layers of shingles was the first process. This was done in a day, and the waterproofing membrane went on. The roofing materials were supposed to be delivered in a couple of days, which unfortunately didn’t happen. The actual work didn’t start for about two months because the company was very busy, but removing the old layers of shingles was the first process. This was done in a day, and the waterproofing membrane went on. The roofing materials were supposed to be delivered in a couple of days, which unfortunately didn’t happen. Instead, a heavy, rainy week intervened, and we did get water in our kitchen. It took a while to get someone to call me back and that was frustrating because it damaged our kitchen ceiling. Ultimately, though, I did get a call, and the work was expedited to the following day. The roofers did the entire installation in one day and did a great job. The roof is beautiful, and we have many people stopping and looking at the wonderful work and superior materials. I know the company will honor their promise to pay for the damage to the kitchen. Once that is done, all is well. The experience wasn’t perfect, but it was as close as mother nature and shipping glitches allowed.
The Interlock crew was able to take some extra time to coordinate with another contractor for solar installation. As a result, the final the result looks great and very functional. The materials used are very high quality, and they worked efficiently and cleaned up when finished.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Powers Lake
The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Powers Lake, Wisconsin. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Powers Lake.
Will a metal roof handle Powers Lake's freeze-thaw cycles?
Yes—aluminum's non-porous structure makes it superior to asphalt or wood in freeze-thaw stress. Powers Lake experiences about 83 freeze-thaw days annually, where water penetrates asphalt, expands when frozen, and cracks the shingle. Aluminum panels with four-way interlocking seams shed water immediately; the Alunar coating (warranted 30 years) remains flexible through the cycles your region sees with 838 mm annual rainfall and 84 cm snow. The material has been installed from coastal homes to Antarctica—freeze-thaw environments far more severe than Kenosha County.
How do Interlock metal roofs handle heavy snow loads?
The aluminum panels weigh as little as 0.41 lb/sq ft—about 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile—which means snow accumulation adds minimal structural stress. Powers Lake averages 84 cm of snow yearly; that weight on a metal roof is far less critical than on traditional tile. The smooth interlocking surface sheds meltwater efficiently, reducing ice dam formation. Optional snow guards can be added where needed. Because the panels are so light, they install directly over most existing roofs without reinforcement, and the system's durability through Kenosha County's climate is proven across 27 years of field installations.
What hail protection does an Interlock metal roof offer in Wisconsin?
Interlock panels carry a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating, the highest available, and the Guardian Warranty covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Most Wisconsin homeowners in hail-prone zones qualify for insurance discounts on metal roofing; contact your agent with the UL 2218 Class 4 rating to discuss your policy. The panels' aluminum construction and multi-layer interlocking design absorb impact without puncturing or cracking the way asphalt shingles do. In regions experiencing frequent severe weather, this rating often lowers annual premiums more than the roof's cost difference over 20 years.
Can a metal roof withstand Wisconsin wind gusts?
Yes—Interlock panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed to specification. Powers Lake's typical gusts reach about 100 km/h, well within the panel's range. The four-way interlocking seams lock each panel to its neighbors, distributing wind loads evenly across the entire roof rather than peeling individual shingles as gusts lift asphalt. The ICC-ES evaluation report ESR-1790 (reissued 2025) documents this performance for IBC/IRC compliance. The system has proven reliable across 27 years of installations from coastal windy regions to mountain passes.
Do I need to reinforce my home's structure for a metal roof?
No structural reinforcement is needed. Interlock panels weigh as little as 0.41 lb/sq ft for the Shingle profile, making them roughly 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile. Because they're so light, they install directly over most existing roofs—including asphalt, wood, or old metal—without upgrading framing or load-bearing walls. This advantage saves thousands in labor and materials. Powers Lake homes with aging structures that couldn't support traditional tile can now have the aesthetic without risk, and the installation process is faster because the existing roof often stays in place, minimizing disruption.
How much maintenance does an Interlock metal roof require?
Metal roofs require virtually no maintenance. Unlike asphalt shingles that degrade, curl, and require regular inspection and repair in Powers Lake's 84 cm annual snow and 838 mm rain, aluminum panels shed moisture immediately and resist the freeze-thaw damage that shortens asphalt life to 15–20 years. Unlike wood shake, they don't split or rot. The Alunar 70% PVDF coating (warranted 30 years) is non-porous, so algae and moss don't establish footholds the way they do on asphalt. CALGreen has verified the system for reduced maintenance. You may occasionally clear debris or snow, but structural inspection, repair, and replacement cycles are essentially eliminated.
Is a metal roof worth the upfront cost compared to asphalt?
Over a 50-year timeline, aluminum is significantly cheaper. Asphalt shingles last 15–20 years in Powers Lake's climate (83 freeze-thaw days, 84 cm snow annually); you'll replace them three times for every one metal roof. Interlock panels carry a non-prorated lifetime limited warranty for the original owner—covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, and impact loss—plus a one-time transferable 50-year term for the next owner. Add zero maintenance costs, no tear-off landfill fees, no emergency repairs, and the price per year of ownership drops below asphalt by the 30-year mark. Insurance discounts often recover 10–15% of the initial premium difference.
Is a metal roof environmentally responsible?
Yes. Aluminum panels are approximately 95% recyclable at end of life, whereas asphalt shingles—millions of tons yearly—go to landfills where they persist for centuries. Interlock's aluminum is roofing-grade 3105-H24 or 3003-H24 alloy (ASTM B209), manufactured in Delta, BC since 1998 using established recycling loops. By installing once and keeping it for 50+ years rather than replacing asphalt three times, you eliminate the recurring tear-off, transportation, and disposal cycle. The panels also reduce roof-surface temperature with energy-efficient colors (solar reflectance up to 0.55), lowering cooling demand. Choosing metal breaks the asphalt-to-landfill pattern.
Can I get a metal roof that looks like slate, shake, or tile?
Yes. Interlock offers five authentic profiles: Slate, Cedar Shingle, Shake, Standing Seam, and Mediterranean Tile. Each uses four-way interlocking aluminum panels (3105-H24 or 3003-H24 alloy) with Alunar 70% PVDF coating in colors matching traditional materials. The depth and texture of each profile replicate the original aesthetic without the weight penalty—Mediterranean Tile installs at 0.59 lb/sq ft versus 8–10 lb/sq ft for clay, eliminating the need for structural reinforcement. All profiles are backed by the same 30-year coating warranty and proven durability across 27 years of installations. Choose your visual style; get the durability and zero-maintenance benefits of aluminum.
