What our customers are saying:
Your home is your greatest investment, sheltering you from the storms. Don’t nickel and dime yourself when choosing a roof, you get what you pay for. We chose Interlock aluminum roofing for our house, and are totally pleased with it. Aluminum doesn’t rust period. The current rage of steel roofing is a racket preying on uninformed consumers who want something for next to nothing. Steel roofs are coated to prevent rust. However, once these coatings wear off rust sets in. I have personally seen an 18 year-old steel roof with significant rusting after the coating was gone. Do yourself a favor, get an Interlock aluminum roof. Dean Landers 5 star review June 9/2026 Janesville WI
I had Interlock put on a beautiful red slate roof 17 years ago.The roof still looks beautiful. 5 years ago, I had them also re-roof my garage with the same type of slate. The roofs look gorgeous and I have no maintenance whatsoever.I get complements all the time. The guy whom I contracted with was named "Tim' but has since died. He was a really nice guy. Back in 2009, the roof was much cheaper. ( I actually paid more for the garage 5 years ago!) I am extremely happy with the roofs. The guys did a wonderful job, replacing rotted boards where necessary. They also told me about very cheap gutters I could buy at Menards instead of those ridiculously - priced "special" gutter systems. I bought them and they placed them on my buildings. This home will go to my daughter one day; I do not want her to have to lift a finger. Note that I had an asphalt roof previously. It lasted only 12 years. The shingles curled up under the sun and cracked. They looked terrible. I can honestly say that these metals roofs by Interlock are very much worth what you pay for them. They will last a lifetime with almost no maintenance. Instead of replacing a roof every 15 years and paying lots for asphalt or fiberglass, their metal roofs last very long and you will never have to re- roof again.
Our experience with having our Interlock roof installed was exceptional. It was installed during the hottest days of the year, and none of our neighbors could believe the installers were working so hard during the hot, muggy weather. They finished several days ahead of schedule and left the yard clean and neat, even after a complete tear-off of three layers of roofing. One day during the installation, we had a rain storm, and the installers all took shelter in their vehicles. I noticed that we had a leak in a spot that had clearly had leaks before we bought the house. When I pointed it out to the installers, they went up the ladder in the pouring rain, found the cause of the problem (which, again, was a pre-existing problem, not one due to the Interlock installation) and fixed it on the spot. The service was exceptional.
We purchased our roof in 2009 and as you can see from the pictures taken in May of 2017, our roof looks as new as the day we bought it. Here are the things we have noticed most about our Interlock Lifetime Roof over the last 8 years. It keeps our house much cooler in the summer than the asphalt roof we used to have. It really sheds snow, and the snow guards work great. We never need to use a snow rake. We love the durability and the curb appeal. Greg Weber our representative, who we were enthused to learn, is still with the company. When we saw him in 2009 he laid out all the variables in a professional way and our Interlock Roof has lived up to all of our expectations and promises he made. All companies promise results, service, and quality. Interlock delivers.
The installation was super smooth. Every installer was courteous and professional. We get lots of compliments, and people stop by all the time to admire it. One of the biggest misconceptions about metal roofing is people think it’s loud. Our Interlock roof is very silent. The only way I know if it’s raining is if I look out a window. Also, the snow just slides off. We are also in a wind tunnel area, and we have never lost an Interlock shingle, and we have had the roof for many years. We were so pleased with our Interlock roof that we put the same roof on our lake home in northern Wisconsin. We get a lot more snow up there and the Interlock’s snow-shedding performance capabilities are second to none on that roof, too!
First off, the installation crew was great! They worked very hard, took short breaks, and completed the job very efficiently. Greg Weber, our sales representative, told us an Interlock Roof was more energy efficient than asphalt, and one of the major things we noticed over the years is how much cooler our home office upstairs is in the summertime and warmer it is in the wintertime. It’s a dramatic difference from our old asphalt roof. We have had a few neighbors even question why we invested more in an Interlock roof than a typical asphalt roof, and we always smile and say, “Everybody complains about spending money. Do you want to complain about it once or multiple times, and do you want to be all in to have the best, or not in, and hope for the best.” Thank you, Interlock!
Dear Interlock Lifetime Roofing Systems, The installation was terrific. Jessie and his crew were very nice, polite, and clean and worked together like a well-oiled machine. If I was to have work done on my home for any type of project, this is the team I would recommend and would want to work on my house. Greg Weber, my sales representative, answered all my questions, set the proper expectations, and over delivered in every aspect. We had a major rainstorm shortly after the installation, and we noticed no difference in sound at all. Our Interlock roof is the talk of the neighborhood.
Dear Interlock Lifetime Roofing Systems: We purchased our Interlock Lifetime Roof in June 2014. We are very happy with the look, durability of the material, and finish. After a snowfall, the heat of the sun will warm the roof and allow the snow to shed from the roof. We have a great sense of security, knowing it can withstand higher winds than conventional asphalt. In fact, our neighbors lost many shingles in the last major wind storm, and our Interlock roof proved to be the high wind resistance product it is with all shingles intact. We love the fact it’s more reliable and has peace of mind knowing it has lots of longevity and will look brand new not only now but down the road. We also received a discount on our homeowner’s insurance. Overall, we were very satisfied with our sales representative Greg Weber, the company, the service, and the product.
We have been do-it-yourselfer homeowners our whole lives. We are very handy and capable when it comes to home improvements and appreciate craftsmanship and quality. And that’s what Interlock Lifetime Roofing Systems provided us with our roof. Craftsmanship and quality. Plus, durability, beauty, and experience from a company that manufactures and certify install its own product. That is something, a company that makes its own product, that was very important to us, and no other company in our market offered that, except Interlock. Another thing that was important was we didn’t want to have to deal with rust because many steel metal roofs look good new but look old and hideous down the road because of fading and rusting. Interlock is aluminum. So, it won’t rust, and it achieves and exceeds the highest rating of hail resistance. So, it’s like we said earlier – super durable! Jessie and his crew were super and hard working. We were amazed by their work ethic. That’s something that’s becoming rare nowadays. Also, we were told by a competitor that Greg Weber and Interlock would be high-pressure. That was the furthest thing from the truth. Greg was polite, personable, and knowledgeable and helped us sift through the “lesser quality, cheaper installation, sales gimmicky and overly aggressive” competitors. He provided us with a detailed range of the competition by laying out all the variables so we could make an intelligent comparison and decision. Greg helped save us a lot of time from all the other companies in our market selling what everyone else is selling or just selling stuff and making promises they can’t keep. All the asphalt guys want you to believe that their products will last, and all the steel companies want you to believe their products won’t rust, and everybody knows… That’s Just Not True! Interlock has proven itself for over four decades. That’s Impressive. That’s why we went with them, Jessie and Greg.
In March 2017 we had an Interlock Lifetime Roof installed. Greg Weber, the salesman, was not pushy. We were very impressed with his salesmanship and the product. He also offered to have the Interlock product put on our wishing well in the front yard. That was something we really appreciated. The clean-up was excellent! Many neighbors and people who " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">walk by the house have noticed the roof and asked a lot of questions. We have gotten lots of compliments!
We visited the booth Interlock had at the Remodelling Show at State Fair Park. We got a lot of excellent information there and left our number for a call-back. We did receive the call back promptly and got an appointment right away. The estimator showed up on time and thoroughly explained the process, the product choices and the costs. We signed up for a new metal roof that evening because the advantages were so many, and the expense over time was not much different from regular shingles. This metal roof will probably outlive us! The actual work didn’t start for about two months because the company was very busy, but removing the old layers of shingles was the first process. This was done in a day, and the waterproofing membrane went on. The roofing materials were supposed to be delivered in a couple of days, which unfortunately didn’t happen. The actual work didn’t start for about two months because the company was very busy, but removing the old layers of shingles was the first process. This was done in a day, and the waterproofing membrane went on. The roofing materials were supposed to be delivered in a couple of days, which unfortunately didn’t happen. Instead, a heavy, rainy week intervened, and we did get water in our kitchen. It took a while to get someone to call me back and that was frustrating because it damaged our kitchen ceiling. Ultimately, though, I did get a call, and the work was expedited to the following day. The roofers did the entire installation in one day and did a great job. The roof is beautiful, and we have many people stopping and looking at the wonderful work and superior materials. I know the company will honor their promise to pay for the damage to the kitchen. Once that is done, all is well. The experience wasn’t perfect, but it was as close as mother nature and shipping glitches allowed.
The Interlock crew was able to take some extra time to coordinate with another contractor for solar installation. As a result, the final the result looks great and very functional. The materials used are very high quality, and they worked efficiently and cleaned up when finished.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Powers Lake Highlands
The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Powers Lake Highlands, Wisconsin. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Powers Lake Highlands.
Will a metal roof handle Wisconsin's freeze-thaw cycles better than asphalt?
Yes — aluminum's oxide layer actually strengthens when exposed to repeated freeze-thaw stress, whereas asphalt becomes brittle. Powers Lake Highlands experiences roughly 83 freeze-thaw days per year, the exact cycle that degrades conventional shingles. Aluminum alloy (ASTM B209, 3105-H24) expands and contracts uniformly without cracking, splitting, or curling. Since the coating is applied to both sides, even micro-damage self-heals through the oxide layer's natural reformation. Asphalt typically lasts 15–20 years here; Interlock's Guardian Warranty covers freeze-thaw damage for the lifetime of the original owner.
How does metal roofing handle the snow and ice we get in Powers Lake Highlands?
Metal roofing sheds snow and ice more efficiently than asphalt because its smooth, interlocking surface prevents water from pooling and refreezing at the eave. Your area receives about 84 cm of snow annually alongside 838 mm of rain; that combination creates dangerous ice-dam conditions on traditional roofs. The four-way interlocking aluminum panels, when installed with proper ventilation and pitch, allow meltwater to drain quickly before it refreezes. You can add snow guards if desired for safety. The lightweight design—Shake at 0.58 lb/sq ft—means no structural reinforcement is needed, even with accumulated snow load.
Does aluminum roofing really not rust like steel does?
Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron; instead, it develops a protective oxide layer that self-heals when scratched. This matters enormously in Wisconsin's wet climate—you're exposed to 838 mm of annual rainfall plus winter salt from road treatment. Steel roofing requires constant maintenance to prevent rust. Interlock uses roofing-grade 3105-H24 and 3003-H24 aluminum alloy with a Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon coating applied to both sides, warranted 30 years against chalking and fading. Even in harsh conditions, the underlying metal simply cannot corrode, making it virtually maintenance-free compared to painted steel that needs touch-ups every few years.
Is metal roofing worth the upfront cost compared to standard asphalt shingles?
Over a 50-year period, metal is cheaper—you buy one roof instead of three. Asphalt lasts 15–20 years in Wisconsin's 83 annual freeze-thaw days and 84 cm of snow; you'll replace it multiple times. Interlock's lifetime limited warranty (non-prorated for the original owner, transferable for 50 years) means you avoid tear-off costs, disposal fees, and labor multiplied three times. Metal also qualifies for energy-efficiency ratings in select colors, lowering cooling costs in summer. Factor in no rust repair, no algae treatment, and minimal maintenance, and the aluminum roof costs less per year of protection. It's genuinely the last roof you'll buy.
What exactly does the lifetime warranty cover, and who can transfer it?
The Guardian Warranty is a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance—conditions that plague asphalt and wood shake in Wisconsin's climate. It transfers once to the next owner for the remainder of 50 years from completion, giving your home's next buyer decades of coverage. This transferability increases your home's appeal and resale confidence. The warranty is backed by the durability of 3105-H24 aluminum alloy and a 30-year PVDF coating warranty (ASTM D4214/D2244 tested), both of which far exceed typical asphalt guarantees that prorate after year 10.
Can metal roofing survive the wind gusts we get here?
Yes—Interlock's four-way interlocking aluminum panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph when installed to specification. Powers Lake Highlands sees typical daily winds around 19 km/h with gusts reaching 100 km/h, well within that capacity. The interlocking design distributes wind load across all four edges of each panel, preventing uplift during storms. Unlike asphalt shingles that can peel or blow off in Wisconsin's seasonal gales, metal panels are mechanically fastened and mechanically locked—they function as a unified assembly. Combined with proper installation and flashing, this system has been proven from coastal sites to inland locations across North America.
Will a metal roof help with insurance, especially hail coverage?
Metal roofing earns UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating, the highest available, because aluminum's ductility absorbs hail energy without fracturing. Interlock's warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Many insurers recognize this durability and offer discounts on homeowners policies for Class 4-rated roofs, potentially recovering your material cost over time. Wisconsin hail events, while less frequent than in the Great Plains, still occur; Class 4 protection is concrete evidence of impact resistance. Contact your insurer to ask whether metal roofing qualifies you for a discount—many do. Either way, you eliminate the hail-damage-claim hassle asphalt owners face repeatedly.
Can you install metal roofing over my existing shingles, or do I need a tear-off?
Most homes can install Interlock over existing shingles without tear-off, saving labor and landfill waste. The Mediterranean Tile profile, for example, weighs only 0.59 lb/sq ft—about 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile—so structural reinforcement is rarely needed. A licensed installer (Interlock has served this region since 2001) will inspect your deck, roof pitch, and flashing to confirm compatibility. If your current roof is heavily damaged or has multiple layers, tear-off may be required. The lightweight design and four-way interlocking system make installation faster than asphalt or wood shake, typically completed in 2–5 days depending on roof size. You'll get a new roof with minimal disruption.
How much maintenance does a metal roof actually need in Wisconsin?
Virtually none compared to asphalt, wood, or tile. Aluminum does not rot, split, curl, or require annual inspection for damage—the two common causes of roof failure in Wisconsin's climate. It does not absorb moisture or support algae growth like asphalt does after 10–15 years. Wood shake requires regular treatment to prevent rot in areas receiving 838 mm of annual rainfall. Concrete tile cracks in freeze-thaw cycles. Your Interlock roof, backed by ICC-ES evaluation ESR-1790 compliance and CALGreen verification for reduced maintenance, simply needs occasional gutter cleaning and inspection of flashing after severe storms. Many owners report zero maintenance in decades. You'll spend your time and money elsewhere.
Is metal roofing really more sustainable than asphalt shingles?
Yes—aluminum is approximately 95% recyclable at end of life, whereas asphalt shingles create landfill waste every 15–20 years. Over 50 years, a homeowner might dispose of three asphalt roofs; you'll dispose of zero. Interlock aluminum panels are manufactured from responsibly sourced alloy and can be recycled indefinitely without loss of properties. The lightweight design also reduces transportation emissions compared to slate, tile, or concrete alternatives. By choosing metal, you break the tear-off-to-landfill cycle that asphalt perpetuates. Wisconsin's 838 mm of annual rainfall and 84 cm of snow stress roofs hard, making durability—not replacement—the most sustainable choice. One lifetime roof beats three disposable ones.
