Review: June 17, 2017Completion: February 17, 2017

I have made, and continuously still make, numerous recommendations to family & friends to install a Interlock roof. And, I have produced pictures on demand that I stored on my smart phone. If possible, I would be appreciative if I could get the drone footage that Jesse had taken after the finishing of the installation. I believe it would be a great selling point coming from a true customer to help propel the Interlock name. There are just a couple areas on the roof that the installation crew could have touched-on during the installation, but overall the roof looks simply amazing. Quality certainly displays the professionalism the installers had put into their work. Since the installation of our new roof, we have received numerous compliments from many of our neighbors that walk around our subdivision, plus a handful of neighbors in the adjoining subdivisions. Many questions have been asked with many answers given. We are definitely happy with our new Interlock roof. We have NOT once questioned or second guessed our decision to install an Interlock roof. It is one of the best decisions we have ever made for re-investing in our home...Thank you, Interlock!

Excellent roof! Looks good! The installers were courteous and professional. Put the tarp all around the house and kept the site very clean. I was impressed with their super service. They bent over backward to please us. The A-Team of Roofing!

Review: April 10, 2017Completion: March 17, 2015

I love the roof! It looks great, and the squirrels that we’re crawling all over my old asphalt roof slide right off it. The snow slides off, too. I hope to get some $500 referrals. The crew was terrific, hardworking, courteous, polite, and clean.

Review: May 16, 2017Completion: July 31, 2008

The installation was super smooth. Every installer was courteous and professional. We get lots of compliments, and people stop by all the time to admire it. One of the biggest misconceptions about metal roofing is people think it’s loud. Our Interlock roof is very silent. The only way I know if it’s raining is if I look out a window. Also, the snow just slides off.

I wanted to drop you a note to tell you how much we like (love) our new roof. Installation went smoothly, and the crew was extremely nice, especially Jesse and Sal, the ones I talked with the most. Most of all, they cleaned up any messes every night.

Review: May 16, 2017Completion: September 24, 2014

We purchased our Interlock Lifetime Roof in June 2014. We are very happy with the look, durability of the material, and finish. After a snowfall, the heat of the sun will warm the roof and allow the snow to shed from the roof. We have a great sense of security, knowing it can withstand higher winds than conventional asphalt.

Review: June 9, 2026Completion: June 10, 2026

Your home is your greatest investment, sheltering you from the storms. Don't nickel and dime yourself when choosing a roof, you get what you pay for. We chose Interlock aluminum roofing for our house, and are totally pleased with it. Aluminum doesn't rust period. The current rage of steel roofing is a racket preying on uninformed consumers who want something for next to nothing. Steel roofs are coated to prevent rust. However, once these coatings wear off rust sets in. I have personally seen an 18 year-old steel roof with significant rusting after the coating was gone. Do yourself a favor, get an Interlock aluminum roof. Dean Landers 5 star review June 9/2026 Janesville WI

Review: June 8, 2023Completion: April 30, 2023

The crew was great and easy to work with. They need to advertise their project, and it would be great to have that sign out front. I have had people ask about where I got it done. Everyone was very polite, courteous, and helpful. They answered all of my questions.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Twin Lakes Terrace

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Twin Lakes Terrace, Wisconsin. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Twin Lakes Terrace.

Will a metal roof hold up through Wisconsin's freeze-thaw cycles?

Yes—aluminum actually thrives in freeze-thaw conditions. Twin Lakes Terrace experiences roughly 80 freeze-thaw days per year, and because aluminum contains no iron, it cannot rust or corrode as the surface expands and contracts. The roofing-grade 3105-H24 and 3003-H24 aluminum alloy (ASTM B209) self-heals its oxide layer when scratched, so seasonal moisture cycles cause no degradation. Steel roofing rusts in these conditions; aluminum simply cycles harmlessly, year after year.

How does metal roofing perform with Twin Lakes Terrace's average 82 cm of snow?

Metal roofing sheds snow efficiently due to its smooth, slippery surface and tight interlocking seams that prevent water infiltration. The four-way interlocking aluminum panels are warranted to 120 mph wind resistance, which prevents snow from being blown under edge seals during gusty conditions (typical gusts reach 99 km/h here). Snow loads slide cleanly rather than pooling, reducing ice dam formation—a significant advantage in areas receiving 835 mm of annual rain plus substantial winter precipitation.

Are interlocking metal panels strong enough for Wisconsin winter wind gusts?

Four-way interlocking panels exceed local demands significantly. Twin Lakes Terrace experiences typical gusts around 99 km/h, but Interlock's warranty covers wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed to specification. The interlocking design distributes wind load across the entire roof plane rather than relying on fasteners alone, so panels cannot lift or separate during storms. This engineering is ICC-ES evaluated (ESR-1790, reissued 2025) and field-proven from coastal salt-air homes to polar research stations.

Do I need to reinforce my roof structure for metal roofing?

No reinforcement required. Interlock's aluminum panels weigh just 0.41–0.59 lb per square foot depending on profile, making the Mediterranean Tile option approximately 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile. This extraordinary lightness means most existing roof structures support metal without modification, unlike traditional tile that often demands costly framing upgrades. Installation directly over existing asphalt is possible in most cases, simplifying the process and reducing labor costs.

Will my metal roof rust in Wisconsin's wet climate?

Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron. Instead, a microscopic oxide layer forms on the surface—and when scratched, this layer self-heals naturally. The Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish (warranted 30 years against chalking and fading, ASTM D4214/D2244) provides additional protection, especially valuable in regions with frequent moisture cycling. With Twin Lakes Terrace's 835 mm annual rainfall and 80 freeze-thaw days, rust-proof aluminum outlasts steel roofing by decades in corrosive conditions.

How does hail resistance affect insurance costs for a metal roof in Wisconsin?

Interlock achieves UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the Guardian Warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Many insurers recognize this superior hail rating and offer premium discounts for impact-resistant roofing. While Twin Lakes Terrace's climate data doesn't highlight extreme hail frequency, the Class 4 durability protects against unexpected severe weather and demonstrates to underwriters that repair costs will be minimal—a fact worth discussing with your insurance agent.

Can a metal roof actually reduce my cooling costs?

energy-efficient colors reflect solar heat rather than absorbing it. Interlock's rated thermal emissivity reaches 0.84, and initial solar reflectance can exceed 0.55 (Aged Copper Penny profile), meaning less heat enters your attic and conditioning system during warm months. Although Twin Lakes Terrace averages only 9.9°C annually with about 3094 sunshine hours, spring and summer cooling still adds to utility bills—and the reflective finish reduces that load while maintaining durability through winter cold snaps.

How much maintenance does a metal roof require compared to asphalt shingles?

Aluminum roofing requires virtually no maintenance. Asphalt shingles demand periodic algae cleaning, granule inspections, and repairs from curling or deterioration—especially in high-moisture climates like Twin Lakes Terrace with 835 mm annual rainfall. Metal panels do not rot, split, crack, or curl; debris simply slides off the smooth surface. The Guardian Warranty covers these failure modes for the original owner's lifetime, non-prorated, eliminating replacement anxiety and making this genuinely the last roof you install.

Is metal roofing actually more sustainable than asphalt?

Aluminum is approximately 95% recyclable and creates zero landfill waste at end-of-life, breaking the asphalt tear-off cycle that burdens local waste systems. When an asphalt roof fails (typically every 15–25 years), the entire roof fills a dumpster; with Interlock's 50-year transferable warranty term, you install once and the material returns to the recycling stream as scrap aluminum worth real money. Over a home's lifespan in Twin Lakes Terrace, this eliminates thousands of pounds of shingle waste while conserving raw materials.

Who installs Interlock metal roofing in Twin Lakes Terrace, and how long has the company been operating?

Interlock Metal Roofing has served the Twin Lakes Terrace region and surrounding Kenosha County since 2001—over two decades of local experience with Wisconsin's freeze-thaw cycles, snow loads, and wind gusts. The installer understands site-specific challenges and maintains relationships with homeowners for warranty service and questions. Choosing a local, established installer ensures proper application of ICC-ES ESR-1790 specifications and reliable support throughout your roof's 50-year-plus lifespan.

Is a metal roof a good choice for Twin Lakes Terrace’s climate?

Yes. Twin Lakes Terrace averages about 82 cm of snow, 835 mm of rain, roughly 80 freeze–thaw days a year, with peak wind gusts near 99 km/h. Interlock® aluminum roofing is wind-rated to 193+ km/h (120 mph), UL 2218 Class 4 impact-rated and Class A fire-rated, and its four-way interlocking panels shed snow and resist ice dams and freeze–thaw cracking — all backed by a lifetime limited, transferable warranty.
