Review: June 17, 2017Completion: February 17, 2017

I have made, and continuously still make, numerous recommendations to family & friends to install a Interlock roof. And, I have produced pictures on demand that I stored on my smart phone. If possible, I would be appreciative if I could get the drone footage that Jesse had taken after the finishing of the installation. I believe it would be a great selling point coming from a true customer to help propel the Interlock name. There are just a couple areas on the roof that the installation crew could have touched-on during the installation, but overall the roof looks simply amazing. Quality certainly displays the professionalism the installers had put into their work. Since the installation of our new roof, we have received numerous compliments from many of our neighbors that walk around our subdivision, plus a handful of neighbors in the adjoining subdivisions. Many questions have been asked with many answers given. We are definitely happy with our new Interlock roof. We have NOT once questioned or second guessed our decision to install an Interlock roof. It is one of the best decisions we have ever made for re-investing in our home...Thank you, Interlock!

Excellent roof! Looks good! The installers were courteous and professional. Put the tarp all around the house and kept the site very clean. I was impressed with their super service. They bent over backward to please us. The A-Team of Roofing!

Review: April 10, 2017Completion: March 17, 2015

I love the roof! It looks great, and the squirrels that we’re crawling all over my old asphalt roof slide right off it. The snow slides off, too. I hope to get some $500 referrals. The crew was terrific, hardworking, courteous, polite, and clean.

Review: May 16, 2017Completion: July 31, 2008

The installation was super smooth. Every installer was courteous and professional. We get lots of compliments, and people stop by all the time to admire it. One of the biggest misconceptions about metal roofing is people think it’s loud. Our Interlock roof is very silent. The only way I know if it’s raining is if I look out a window. Also, the snow just slides off.

I wanted to drop you a note to tell you how much we like (love) our new roof. Installation went smoothly, and the crew was extremely nice, especially Jesse and Sal, the ones I talked with the most. Most of all, they cleaned up any messes every night.

Review: May 16, 2017Completion: September 24, 2014

We purchased our Interlock Lifetime Roof in June 2014. We are very happy with the look, durability of the material, and finish. After a snowfall, the heat of the sun will warm the roof and allow the snow to shed from the roof. We have a great sense of security, knowing it can withstand higher winds than conventional asphalt.

Review: June 9, 2026Completion: June 10, 2026

Your home is your greatest investment, sheltering you from the storms. Don't nickel and dime yourself when choosing a roof, you get what you pay for. We chose Interlock aluminum roofing for our house, and are totally pleased with it. Aluminum doesn't rust period. The current rage of steel roofing is a racket preying on uninformed consumers who want something for next to nothing. Steel roofs are coated to prevent rust. However, once these coatings wear off rust sets in. I have personally seen an 18 year-old steel roof with significant rusting after the coating was gone. Do yourself a favor, get an Interlock aluminum roof. Dean Landers 5 star review June 9/2026 Janesville WI

The crew was great and easy to work with. They need to advertise their project, and it would be great to have that sign out front. I have had people ask about where I got it done. Everyone was very polite, courteous, and helpful. They answered all of my questions.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Powers Lake Terrace

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Powers Lake Terrace, Wisconsin. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Powers Lake Terrace.

How does a metal roof handle Powers Lake Terrace's snow and ice buildup?

Interlock's four-way interlocking aluminum panels shed snow and ice effectively because the smooth, sloped surface prevents accumulation that causes ice dams on asphalt. With about 84 cm of snow annually and 83 freeze-thaw days per year, your roof cycles through wet snow and melt repeatedly—aluminum's oxide layer resists the corrosion that degrades other materials under these conditions. Optional snow guards keep snow from sliding onto walkways, and the panels' light weight (0.41 lb/sq ft for Slate) means no structural reinforcement is needed even in heavy snow seasons.

Why does freeze-thaw cycling matter for roofing in Kenosha County?

Freeze-thaw cycles—about 83 per year in Powers Lake Terrace—cause asphalt shingles and wood to crack, curl, and split as water penetrates, freezes, expands, and thaws. Aluminum cannot absorb water, so it has nothing to freeze inside the material. Its 3105-H24 alloy (ASTM B209) maintains flexibility across the full temperature range, and the Alunar 70% PVDF coating (warranted 30 years against cracking and fading per ASTM D4214) protects the oxide layer. Over 84 cm of annual snowfall and wet springs, this resistance prevents the progressive damage that shortens asphalt and wood shingle life by years.

Can aluminum roofing rust in Powers Lake Terrace's wet climate?

Aluminum contains no iron, so it cannot rust—period. It forms a transparent aluminum-oxide layer that self-heals when scratched, protecting the alloy underneath indefinitely. Steel roofing rusts aggressively, especially in damp climates; Powers Lake Terrace receives about 838 mm of rain annually plus 84 cm of snow, creating persistent moisture. Interlock's Alunar 70% PVDF coating is applied to both sides of the panel for extra protection, and the Guardian Warranty covers rusting across your entire roof lifetime for the original owner. No other roofing material offers this corrosion immunity in a wet climate.

Does a metal roof perform well in Kenosha County's wind?

Interlock roofing is warranted to resist sustained wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed to spec—well above Powers Lake Terrace's typical gust speeds of about 100 km/h. The four-way interlocking panels lock together tightly so wind cannot lift individual panels the way it can with asphalt shingles. Gusts are common during spring storms and winter systems when you receive most of the area's 838 mm annual rainfall; the mechanical interlock means each panel reinforces its neighbors instead of creating separate fail points. This design is why Interlock roofs have been installed from coastal salt-air homes to research stations in extreme wind zones.

What hail protection does Interlock offer, and will it lower my insurance?

Interlock achieves UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the Guardian Warranty covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. This non-combustible aluminum roof resists impacts that destroy asphalt shingles and slate tiles. Some insurers recognize the durability and offer discounts; contact your provider with the UL 2218 Class 4 rating and ICC-ES ESR-1790 evaluation report for your specific policy. Given Wisconsin's hail exposure and the 84 cm of wet snow annually that shifts and settles, impact resistance protects your long-term investment and may reduce your premiums.

Is aluminum roofing light enough to install over my existing roof?

Yes. Interlock's aluminum panels weigh extraordinarily little—the Mediterranean Tile profile installs at about 0.59 lb/sq ft, roughly 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile. This means no structural reinforcement is needed, and installation can proceed directly over your existing asphalt roof, saving thousands in tear-off and disposal costs. The Slate profile weighs even less at 0.41 lb/sq ft. Most homes in Powers Lake Terrace can accommodate this weight without modifications, making retrofit installation faster and more affordable than heavier materials. The ICC-ES ESR-1790 evaluation verifies this performance across building codes.

Is Interlock metal roofing worth the upfront cost compared to asphalt shingles?

Interlock's lifetime limited warranty for the original owner—plus a one-time transferable 50-year term for the next owner—makes it the last roof you'll buy. Asphalt requires replacement every 15–20 years, meaning 3–4 replacements over 60 years, each triggering tear-off costs and landfill waste. With Powers Lake Terrace's 838 mm annual rain and 83 freeze-thaw cycles, asphalt deteriorates faster. Interlock panels resist rust, cracking, curling, and impact damage across all weather conditions, reducing maintenance and emergency repairs. Over a 50-year ownership horizon, material cost per year drops below asphalt when you factor in labor and disposal for multiple replacements.

Is metal roofing better for the environment than asphalt?

Interlock aluminum is approximately 95% recyclable, and the panels are designed to be reclaimed, melted, and reused indefinitely without degradation. Asphalt shingles, by contrast, end up in landfills by the millions of tons annually and cannot be recycled. Over your roof's 50+ year life in Powers Lake Terrace's wet, snowy climate, you will replace asphalt multiple times, each time sending tons of material to landfill. Interlock eliminates this cycle. The non-prorated Guardian Warranty supports long-term retention, and the ICC-ES ESR-1790 certification acknowledges CALGreen compliance for reduced environmental impact through material longevity.

Do metal roofs reduce cooling costs in summer?

energy-efficient Interlock colors reflect solar heat rather than absorbing it. Thermal emissivity reaches 0.84, and reflectance up to 0.55 (Aged Copper Penny), meaning less heat transfers into your attic on the roughly 3,084 sunshine hours Powers Lake Terrace receives annually. On warm days, this reduces air conditioning load, lowering cooling costs. The Cool Roof Rating Council rates these colors, documenting their performance. Asphalt absorbs heat and radiates it into your home; metal's reflective surface keeps interior temperatures lower. Over a summer season and a multi-decade warranty period, this efficiency compounds into measurable utility savings.

How long does it take to install Interlock roofing in Powers Lake Terrace?

Installation timeline depends on roof size and pitch, but Interlock's lightweight aluminum panels and four-way interlocking design accelerate labor compared to slate, tile, or standing-seam systems. Panels can install directly over your existing roof—no tear-off required—eliminating weeks of debris removal and disposal. The local Interlock installer, serving the region since 2001, manages scheduling around Powers Lake Terrace's weather; spring and fall are ideal, but installation can occur year-round given the panels' weather resistance (120 mph wind warranty, UL 2218 Class 4 hail rating). A standard residential roof typically installs in 1–3 days once materials arrive.

Is a metal roof a good choice for Powers Lake Terrace’s climate?

Yes. Powers Lake Terrace averages about 84 cm of snow, 838 mm of rain, roughly 83 freeze–thaw days a year, with peak wind gusts near 100 km/h. Interlock® aluminum roofing is wind-rated to 193+ km/h (120 mph), UL 2218 Class 4 impact-rated and Class A fire-rated, and its four-way interlocking panels shed snow and resist ice dams and freeze–thaw cracking — all backed by a lifetime limited, transferable warranty.
