Review: June 17, 2017Completion: February 17, 2017

I have made, and continuously still make, numerous recommendations to family & friends to install a Interlock roof. And, I have produced pictures on demand that I stored on my smart phone. If possible, I would be appreciative if I could get the drone footage that Jesse had taken after the finishing of the installation. I believe it would be a great selling point coming from a true customer to help propel the Interlock name. There are just a couple areas on the roof that the installation crew could have touched-on during the installation, but overall the roof looks simply amazing. Quality certainly displays the professionalism the installers had put into their work. Since the installation of our new roof, we have received numerous compliments from many of our neighbors that walk around our subdivision, plus a handful of neighbors in the adjoining subdivisions. Many questions have been asked with many answers given. We are definitely happy with our new Interlock roof. We have NOT once questioned or second guessed our decision to install an Interlock roof. It is one of the best decisions we have ever made for re-investing in our home...Thank you, Interlock!

Excellent roof! Looks good! The installers were courteous and professional. Put the tarp all around the house and kept the site very clean. I was impressed with their super service. They bent over backward to please us. The A-Team of Roofing!

Review: April 10, 2017Completion: March 17, 2015

I love the roof! It looks great, and the squirrels that we’re crawling all over my old asphalt roof slide right off it. The snow slides off, too. I hope to get some $500 referrals. The crew was terrific, hardworking, courteous, polite, and clean.

Review: May 16, 2017Completion: July 31, 2008

The installation was super smooth. Every installer was courteous and professional. We get lots of compliments, and people stop by all the time to admire it. One of the biggest misconceptions about metal roofing is people think it’s loud. Our Interlock roof is very silent. The only way I know if it’s raining is if I look out a window. Also, the snow just slides off.

I wanted to drop you a note to tell you how much we like (love) our new roof. Installation went smoothly, and the crew was extremely nice, especially Jesse and Sal, the ones I talked with the most. Most of all, they cleaned up any messes every night.

Review: May 16, 2017Completion: September 24, 2014

We purchased our Interlock Lifetime Roof in June 2014. We are very happy with the look, durability of the material, and finish. After a snowfall, the heat of the sun will warm the roof and allow the snow to shed from the roof. We have a great sense of security, knowing it can withstand higher winds than conventional asphalt.

Review: June 9, 2026Completion: June 10, 2026

Your home is your greatest investment, sheltering you from the storms. Don't nickel and dime yourself when choosing a roof, you get what you pay for. We chose Interlock aluminum roofing for our house, and are totally pleased with it. Aluminum doesn't rust period. The current rage of steel roofing is a racket preying on uninformed consumers who want something for next to nothing. Steel roofs are coated to prevent rust. However, once these coatings wear off rust sets in. I have personally seen an 18 year-old steel roof with significant rusting after the coating was gone. Do yourself a favor, get an Interlock aluminum roof. Dean Landers 5 star review June 9/2026 Janesville WI

The crew was great and easy to work with. They need to advertise their project, and it would be great to have that sign out front. I have had people ask about where I got it done. Everyone was very polite, courteous, and helpful. They answered all of my questions.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Twin Lakes Estates

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Twin Lakes Estates, Wisconsin. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Twin Lakes Estates.

How does a metal roof handle Twin Lakes Estates' annual snow load?

Interlock metal roofing sheds snow efficiently because aluminum panels are smooth and naturally shed water and ice. With about 82 cm of snow annually in your area, the lightweight construction (Slate profile at 0.41 lb/sq ft) means no structural reinforcement is needed—your home's existing framing supports the roof easily. The four-way interlocking seams prevent water infiltration even when snow melts during the 80 annual freeze-thaw cycles your region experiences, which means no ice dam damage or interior leaks that plague heavier roofing materials.

Why does freeze-thaw cycling in Wisconsin damage some roofs but not metal?

Freeze-thaw damage occurs when water enters material pores, freezes, expands, and cracks the surface—but aluminum panels have no pores to absorb water. Twin Lakes Estates experiences roughly 80 freeze-thaw cycles yearly, which devastates asphalt shingles and natural slate over time. Interlock's roofing-grade 3105-H24 aluminum with Alunar 70% PVDF coating sheds precipitation immediately. The coating itself is warranted 30 years against failure, so even after decades of your region's temperature swings, the material remains intact and watertight.

Does aluminum roofing rust like steel, or is it safe in Wisconsin's wet climate?

Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron—the element that oxidizes and degrades in moisture. Instead, aluminum naturally forms a self-healing oxide layer that seals itself when scratched or damaged. With 835 mm of annual rainfall in Twin Lakes Estates, this corrosion resistance is critical. Interlock uses roofing-grade 3003-H24 and 3105-H24 aluminum (ASTM B209), and both sides are coated with Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish for additional protection, making steel roofing's rust risk irrelevant to your home.

Can a metal roof survive Wisconsin wind gusts without lifting or rattling?

The four-way interlocking aluminum panels are engineered to lock together, resisting wind speeds up to 120 mph when installed to specification—well above the typical gusts to 99 km/h (about 62 mph) recorded in Kenosha County. Each panel interlocks on all four sides, distributing wind load across the entire roof surface rather than stressing individual fasteners. This engineering, verified in ICC-ES evaluation ESR-1790, means your roof remains sealed and secure during spring storms and winter gales without the movement or noise that loose components cause.

What hail protection does Interlock metal roofing offer, and could it lower my insurance?

Interlock achieves UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the Guardian Warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Class 4 means the roof withstands repeated steel ball impacts that crack or break asphalt shingles. Many insurers recognize this durability and offer premium discounts for Class 4 roofing, effectively lowering your annual cost. Contact your agent with the UL 2218 Class 4 documentation to discuss potential savings; over a 50-year lifespan, those discounts compound significantly.

Is my home's structure strong enough for metal roofing, or do I need reinforcement?

No structural reinforcement is needed. The Interlock Slate profile weighs just 0.41 lb/sq ft, the Shake 0.58 lb/sq ft, and the Mediterranean Tile—which mimics traditional clay at 0.59 lb/sq ft—is about 96% lighter than actual clay or concrete tile. This extreme lightness means the roof exerts less force on your home's framing than the asphalt shingles currently installed. The metal roof can often be installed directly over your existing roof, reducing labor, waste, and timeline while avoiding the cost and disruption of structural upgrades.

How much maintenance does a metal roof actually need compared to asphalt or wood?

Unlike asphalt shingles that require periodic sealing, replacement, and debris clearing, or wood shake that splits and rots over time, Interlock metal roofing requires only occasional gentle cleaning—no pressure washing that damages coatings. The aluminum panels resist algae and lichen growth because they're non-porous and slick. With 3,094 sunshine hours annually and 835 mm of rain in Twin Lakes Estates, debris accumulation is minimal, and when rain does fall, it sheds completely. CALGreen verification confirms reduced maintenance demands; your practical upkeep is essentially inspection-only, saving you hundreds of dollars in repair and upkeep over decades.

What does Interlock's warranty actually cover, and how long does it last?

The Guardian Warranty is a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original homeowner—covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance for as long as you own the home. It's also one-time transferable, giving the next owner 50 years of coverage from completion. This means your roof is protected across your entire ownership and remains a selling point for the next buyer. Combined with the 30-year coating warranty (ASTM D4214/D2244 standards), you're covered against both structural failure and surface degradation for decades longer than asphalt's 15–20 year lifespan.

Does metal roofing actually reduce cooling costs, or is that marketing?

Yes—Interlock's energy-efficient colors have thermal emissivity of 0.84 and initial solar reflectance up to 0.55 (like Aged Copper Penny), reflecting heat rather than absorbing it as asphalt does. Cool Roof Rating Council testing proves this measurable difference. In Twin Lakes Estates, where you have about 3,094 sunshine hours yearly, that reflectance reduces the radiant heat load on your home during spring and summer, lowering air-conditioning runtime and cost. The effect compounds over time: across a 50-year roof life, the energy savings can offset a portion of the roofing investment, particularly if your utility provider offers efficiency rebates.

Who installs Interlock metal roofing in Twin Lakes Estates, and how long have they been in business?

Interlock Metal Roofing has served the Twin Lakes Estates region since 2001, bringing over two decades of local expertise to residential and commercial installations. The company understands Wisconsin's specific climate challenges—heavy snow load, freeze-thaw cycling, wind gusts, and salt-air exposure in some areas of Kenosha County. They're familiar with local building codes (ICC-ES ESR-1790 compliance), the permitting process, and installation best practices for your region's conditions. Contacting the local installer directly ensures your project benefits from proven regional experience and responsive service, with no out-of-area delays.

Is a metal roof a good choice for Twin Lakes Estates’s climate?

Yes. Twin Lakes Estates averages about 82 cm of snow, 835 mm of rain, roughly 80 freeze–thaw days a year, with peak wind gusts near 99 km/h. Interlock® aluminum roofing is wind-rated to 193+ km/h (120 mph), UL 2218 Class 4 impact-rated and Class A fire-rated, and its four-way interlocking panels shed snow and resist ice dams and freeze–thaw cracking — all backed by a lifetime limited, transferable warranty.
