What our customers are saying:
Your home is your greatest investment, sheltering you from the storms. Don’t nickel and dime yourself when choosing a roof, you get what you pay for. We chose Interlock aluminum roofing for our house, and are totally pleased with it. Aluminum doesn’t rust period. The current rage of steel roofing is a racket preying on uninformed consumers who want something for next to nothing. Steel roofs are coated to prevent rust. However, once these coatings wear off rust sets in. I have personally seen an 18 year-old steel roof with significant rusting after the coating was gone. Do yourself a favor, get an Interlock aluminum roof. Dean Landers 5 star review June 9/2026 Janesville WI
I had Interlock put on a beautiful red slate roof 17 years ago.The roof still looks beautiful. 5 years ago, I had them also re-roof my garage with the same type of slate. The roofs look gorgeous and I have no maintenance whatsoever.I get complements all the time. The guy whom I contracted with was named "Tim' but has since died. He was a really nice guy. Back in 2009, the roof was much cheaper. ( I actually paid more for the garage 5 years ago!) I am extremely happy with the roofs. The guys did a wonderful job, replacing rotted boards where necessary. They also told me about very cheap gutters I could buy at Menards instead of those ridiculously - priced "special" gutter systems. I bought them and they placed them on my buildings. This home will go to my daughter one day; I do not want her to have to lift a finger. Note that I had an asphalt roof previously. It lasted only 12 years. The shingles curled up under the sun and cracked. They looked terrible. I can honestly say that these metals roofs by Interlock are very much worth what you pay for them. They will last a lifetime with almost no maintenance. Instead of replacing a roof every 15 years and paying lots for asphalt or fiberglass, their metal roofs last very long and you will never have to re- roof again.
Our experience with having our Interlock roof installed was exceptional. It was installed during the hottest days of the year, and none of our neighbors could believe the installers were working so hard during the hot, muggy weather. They finished several days ahead of schedule and left the yard clean and neat, even after a complete tear-off of three layers of roofing. One day during the installation, we had a rain storm, and the installers all took shelter in their vehicles. I noticed that we had a leak in a spot that had clearly had leaks before we bought the house. When I pointed it out to the installers, they went up the ladder in the pouring rain, found the cause of the problem (which, again, was a pre-existing problem, not one due to the Interlock installation) and fixed it on the spot. The service was exceptional.
We purchased our roof in 2009 and as you can see from the pictures taken in May of 2017, our roof looks as new as the day we bought it. Here are the things we have noticed most about our Interlock Lifetime Roof over the last 8 years. It keeps our house much cooler in the summer than the asphalt roof we used to have. It really sheds snow, and the snow guards work great. We never need to use a snow rake. We love the durability and the curb appeal. Greg Weber our representative, who we were enthused to learn, is still with the company. When we saw him in 2009 he laid out all the variables in a professional way and our Interlock Roof has lived up to all of our expectations and promises he made. All companies promise results, service, and quality. Interlock delivers.
The installation was super smooth. Every installer was courteous and professional. We get lots of compliments, and people stop by all the time to admire it. One of the biggest misconceptions about metal roofing is people think it’s loud. Our Interlock roof is very silent. The only way I know if it’s raining is if I look out a window. Also, the snow just slides off. We are also in a wind tunnel area, and we have never lost an Interlock shingle, and we have had the roof for many years. We were so pleased with our Interlock roof that we put the same roof on our lake home in northern Wisconsin. We get a lot more snow up there and the Interlock’s snow-shedding performance capabilities are second to none on that roof, too!
First off, the installation crew was great! They worked very hard, took short breaks, and completed the job very efficiently. Greg Weber, our sales representative, told us an Interlock Roof was more energy efficient than asphalt, and one of the major things we noticed over the years is how much cooler our home office upstairs is in the summertime and warmer it is in the wintertime. It’s a dramatic difference from our old asphalt roof. We have had a few neighbors even question why we invested more in an Interlock roof than a typical asphalt roof, and we always smile and say, “Everybody complains about spending money. Do you want to complain about it once or multiple times, and do you want to be all in to have the best, or not in, and hope for the best.” Thank you, Interlock!
Dear Interlock Lifetime Roofing Systems, The installation was terrific. Jessie and his crew were very nice, polite, and clean and worked together like a well-oiled machine. If I was to have work done on my home for any type of project, this is the team I would recommend and would want to work on my house. Greg Weber, my sales representative, answered all my questions, set the proper expectations, and over delivered in every aspect. We had a major rainstorm shortly after the installation, and we noticed no difference in sound at all. Our Interlock roof is the talk of the neighborhood.
Dear Interlock Lifetime Roofing Systems: We purchased our Interlock Lifetime Roof in June 2014. We are very happy with the look, durability of the material, and finish. After a snowfall, the heat of the sun will warm the roof and allow the snow to shed from the roof. We have a great sense of security, knowing it can withstand higher winds than conventional asphalt. In fact, our neighbors lost many shingles in the last major wind storm, and our Interlock roof proved to be the high wind resistance product it is with all shingles intact. We love the fact it’s more reliable and has peace of mind knowing it has lots of longevity and will look brand new not only now but down the road. We also received a discount on our homeowner’s insurance. Overall, we were very satisfied with our sales representative Greg Weber, the company, the service, and the product.
We have been do-it-yourselfer homeowners our whole lives. We are very handy and capable when it comes to home improvements and appreciate craftsmanship and quality. And that’s what Interlock Lifetime Roofing Systems provided us with our roof. Craftsmanship and quality. Plus, durability, beauty, and experience from a company that manufactures and certify install its own product. That is something, a company that makes its own product, that was very important to us, and no other company in our market offered that, except Interlock. Another thing that was important was we didn’t want to have to deal with rust because many steel metal roofs look good new but look old and hideous down the road because of fading and rusting. Interlock is aluminum. So, it won’t rust, and it achieves and exceeds the highest rating of hail resistance. So, it’s like we said earlier – super durable! Jessie and his crew were super and hard working. We were amazed by their work ethic. That’s something that’s becoming rare nowadays. Also, we were told by a competitor that Greg Weber and Interlock would be high-pressure. That was the furthest thing from the truth. Greg was polite, personable, and knowledgeable and helped us sift through the “lesser quality, cheaper installation, sales gimmicky and overly aggressive” competitors. He provided us with a detailed range of the competition by laying out all the variables so we could make an intelligent comparison and decision. Greg helped save us a lot of time from all the other companies in our market selling what everyone else is selling or just selling stuff and making promises they can’t keep. All the asphalt guys want you to believe that their products will last, and all the steel companies want you to believe their products won’t rust, and everybody knows… That’s Just Not True! Interlock has proven itself for over four decades. That’s Impressive. That’s why we went with them, Jessie and Greg.
In March 2017 we had an Interlock Lifetime Roof installed. Greg Weber, the salesman, was not pushy. We were very impressed with his salesmanship and the product. He also offered to have the Interlock product put on our wishing well in the front yard. That was something we really appreciated. The clean-up was excellent! Many neighbors and people who " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">walk by the house have noticed the roof and asked a lot of questions. We have gotten lots of compliments!
We visited the booth Interlock had at the Remodelling Show at State Fair Park. We got a lot of excellent information there and left our number for a call-back. We did receive the call back promptly and got an appointment right away. The estimator showed up on time and thoroughly explained the process, the product choices and the costs. We signed up for a new metal roof that evening because the advantages were so many, and the expense over time was not much different from regular shingles. This metal roof will probably outlive us! The actual work didn’t start for about two months because the company was very busy, but removing the old layers of shingles was the first process. This was done in a day, and the waterproofing membrane went on. The roofing materials were supposed to be delivered in a couple of days, which unfortunately didn’t happen. The actual work didn’t start for about two months because the company was very busy, but removing the old layers of shingles was the first process. This was done in a day, and the waterproofing membrane went on. The roofing materials were supposed to be delivered in a couple of days, which unfortunately didn’t happen. Instead, a heavy, rainy week intervened, and we did get water in our kitchen. It took a while to get someone to call me back and that was frustrating because it damaged our kitchen ceiling. Ultimately, though, I did get a call, and the work was expedited to the following day. The roofers did the entire installation in one day and did a great job. The roof is beautiful, and we have many people stopping and looking at the wonderful work and superior materials. I know the company will honor their promise to pay for the damage to the kitchen. Once that is done, all is well. The experience wasn’t perfect, but it was as close as mother nature and shipping glitches allowed.
The Interlock crew was able to take some extra time to coordinate with another contractor for solar installation. As a result, the final the result looks great and very functional. The materials used are very high quality, and they worked efficiently and cleaned up when finished.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Lake View Highlands
The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Lake View Highlands, Wisconsin. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Lake View Highlands.
Will a metal roof hold up through Wisconsin's freeze-thaw cycles?
Yes—aluminum thrives in freeze-thaw climates like Lake View Highlands, where you experience roughly 79 freeze-thaw days annually. Unlike asphalt shingles that crack and curl when water penetrates and refreezes, aluminum panels have no moisture absorption pathway. The 3105-H24 aluminum alloy expands and contracts uniformly without degradation, and the Alunar 70% PVDF coating (30-year warranty against chalking per ASTM D4214) remains pliable through temperature swings. Your roof won't develop the stress fractures that plague traditional materials in this freeze-thaw zone.
How does a metal roof handle Lake View Highlands' snow and ice buildup?
The smooth, interlocking panel design sheds snow and ice efficiently—critical in your region's 88 cm average annual snowfall. Unlike asphalt's grippy surface, aluminum's low friction encourages snow to slide rather than dam up, reducing ice-dam formation that can back water into your attic. The four-way interlocking system is engineered to handle snow loads without leaking at seams. Snow guards are available if you want to manage roof runoff strategically. With roughly 822 mm of annual rainfall plus snow melt, good drainage is everything—metal roofing delivers that by design.
Can my metal roof withstand Wisconsin wind and gusts?
The four-way interlocking panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph, well above Lake View Highlands' typical gust patterns (which peak around 96 km/h or 60 mph). The mechanical lock between panels means wind cannot peel them away from edges or overlaps the way it can with shingles. ICC-ES evaluation ESR-1790 confirms code compliance for high-wind installations. Your region's mean daily-max winds average 22 km/h, so metal roofing handles your exposure with substantial safety margin—and no blown-off shingles during spring storms.
Does a metal roof need hail damage coverage, and could it lower insurance costs?
Interlock's aluminum roofing carries UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the Guardian Warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. This durability often qualifies homeowners for insurance premium reductions; contact your agent with the UL 2218 Class 4 rating and ICC-ES ESR-1790 documentation. Wisconsin hail is unpredictable, but aluminum's non-denting properties and impact warranty mean you won't face costly repair bills or deductibles that asphalt shingles invite. Many insurers recognize this and reward it.
No—aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron. In Lake View Highlands' 822 mm annual rainfall environment, this matters enormously. Aluminum develops a protective oxide layer that self-heals when scratched, and Interlock's roofing-grade 3105-H24 and 3003-H24 alloy (ASTM B209) is specifically chosen for corrosion resistance. The Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish (applied to both sides) adds a 30-year warranty against coating breakdown. Steel roofing rusts; aluminum roofs in wet climates simply age in place without structural degradation or maintenance intervention.
Can a metal roof rust in Wisconsin's wet climate?
Is a metal roof worth the upfront cost compared to asphalt shingles?
Metal roofing costs more initially but is the last roof you'll buy. Asphalt typically lasts 15–20 years in Wisconsin's 79 annual freeze-thaw cycles and heavy moisture (822 mm rain, 88 cm snow); you'll replace it 1–2 times in 50 years. Interlock's Guardian Warranty is lifetime limited for the original owner and transferable for 50 years to the next owner, covering rusting, rotting, splitting, and cracking. Over a 50-year horizon, one metal roof beats 2–3 asphalt tear-offs in labor, disposal, and material cost. The math favors metal decisively.
How long does metal roofing installation take, and do I need a new deck underneath?
Installation typically takes 2–5 days depending on roof complexity and crew size; Interlock's local installer has served the region since 2001 and can provide a firm timeline during your consultation. The extraordinary lightness of aluminum panels (Shingle profile installs at roughly 0.41 lb/sq ft, Shake at 0.58) means most roofs install directly over existing asphalt—no structural reinforcement needed. This saves weeks of tear-off and disposal work, reducing labor costs and keeping your home weatherable during installation. Your existing roof often becomes the solid deck that, with underlayment, keeps a metal roof as quiet as asphalt in rain.
Will my house's frame need reinforcement to support a metal roof?
No structural reinforcement is required. Interlock's aluminum panels—especially the Mediterranean Tile profile at roughly 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile—add minimal load to your frame. The Tile profile weighs about 0.59 lb/sq ft versus 12–18 lb/sq ft for real tile; your home's structure built for asphalt shingles (0.8–1.5 lb/sq ft) handles metal roofing comfortably. This is why installation can proceed over existing roofs without engineering review. You get the elegant appearance of heavyweight materials without the structural cost and complexity—a practical advantage in any climate, and especially valuable in Wisconsin where snow loads are already a design consideration (88 cm average annually).
Will a metal roof help reduce my air conditioning costs in summer?
energy-efficient Interlock colors reflect solar heat rather than absorbing it like asphalt. Specific colors achieve initial solar reflectance up to 0.55 (Aged Copper Penny) and thermal emissivity of 0.84, rated by the Cool Roof Rating Council. Lake View Highlands receives roughly 3,128 sunshine hours annually—every one of those hours, a reflective metal roof bounces heat away while asphalt absorbs it. Summer cooling savings depend on your AC usage pattern, but reflective roofing consistently reduces peak attic temperatures by 20–30°F in sunny climates. With nearly 3,000 hours of sun yearly, that efficiency compounds into measurable utility bill relief over decades.
What maintenance does a metal roof require in Wisconsin?
Virtually none compared to asphalt, wood shake, or concrete tile. Aluminum doesn't rot, split, curl, or lose impact resistance over time—conditions common in freeze-thaw environments like Lake View Highlands with 79 annual freeze-thaw cycles. No moss treatment, no algae cleaning, no tar patching. The Alunar 70% PVDF finish is rated 30 years against fading and chalking (ASTM D2244), so color retention outlasts most homeownership terms. Quarterly gutter cleaning and annual debris removal suffice. The CALGreen verification for reduced maintenance is validation that you're buying a set-and-forget roof system. Compare this to asphalt's yearly inspections, sealant reapplication, and shingle replacement—metal's maintenance advantage is profound.
