The communication, and follow through to ensure that the roofer arrived and work was started when the caller said work would start. Additionally I expected that we would hear from the company in person after the work was completed.

This was way more expensive and we won’t live long enough to make the investment worthwhile. Yes, it will increase the resale value, but I doubt it will be enough to offset the cost differential. Also, now there is no way for me to walk on this extremely steep and slippery metal roof. While it does cost more to put on the roof, I think the payback more than covers the extra price. I am sitting in my attic office, a place that got cold even with heat this time of year, it is warm now. It stays cooler in the summer as well which saves on cooling costs. Potentially having a bit better information when working with other trades, like the house was also being sided just prior to them doing the roof, so that is something they could improve on.
