> We had the pleasure of meeting Jonathan Brown at the Mohegan Sun Home Show and couldn’t pass up the opportunity to tell him how happy we are with our Interlock roof of ~20 years. We constantly receive compliments from people passing by on how beautiful it looks. Most of all, we appreciate the peace of mind it gives us—knowing we’ll never have to replace our roof, thanks to the lifetime warranty and guaranteed protection against leaks.

Review: November 15, 2024 Completion: November 19, 2024

It was a pleasure working with Interlock from beginning to end. The back office was good about setting expectations for job start and duration, delivery of materials (which happened on time) and work to be performed. They were also good about making adjustments to work with trim that needed to be replaced, etc. The crew that did the install and cleanup was very professional and hard working. I am extremely satisfied with the end result and would definitely recommend Interlock! This is actually my second roof, I had one installed on a different property 20 years ago and it has held the test of time with virtually no maintenance.

Salesman was very courteous and polite. Straight forward no hype or fluff. Company kept constant contact, took care of the required building permits. Had the dumpster and materials delivered on time and removed quickly. The crew was phenomenal, polite courteous. Explained everything, and was very conscientious about their work. If the the nail didn't go in the way he liked he pulled it and did it right. Nailing was all done by hand. Roof has been great since no issues and still looks great. Over all very pleased and well worth the money.

Review: June 15, 2019 Completion: September 17, 2017

Couldn’t have chosen a better product, it’s been 2 years since installation and have absolutely no issues. The house is cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. Speaking of winter it’s only a matter of hours after a snow storm that all the snow slides right off, no more ice dams and ice filled gutters. The installers were awesome had the entire roof done in a day and a half and cleaned up prior to leaving. We love our Interlock roof.

This letter has been a long time in coming. My husband and I had an Interlock Roof installed in November 2009 and have been meaning to tell you how pleased we are with the look of the new roof and the service provided by the installers ~ Nazaar and Vitality. We’ve gotten many questions and compliments from friends, neighbors and passersby. Both our home and detached garage needed to be re-roofed, with both requiring removal of the old roofing material and the installation of plywood before applying the Interlock product. We were originally told that it would take up to 2 weeks for the job to be completed. To our amazement, the job was completed within a week’s time and that included inclement weather! Nazaar and Vitaliy put in very long days, were very polite, honored their commitments and ALWAYS cleaned everything up before they left for the day. We have children and a dog and found not one nail in the yard after the job was completed. Based on this experience and a product that speaks for itself, we would definitely recommend an Interlock Roof!

I wish to thank " target="\_blank" rel="noopener">Interlock Industries, Inc. for a great roofing system. I'm 100% satisfied and it has a clean and beautiful look. It's great! It's wonderful to know the roof never need replacement again. I also wish to thank Bob Allen, Jerry and Paul McAllister for being so helpful in completing the work. I know this " target="\_blank" rel="noopener">roof system was right when we met Bob Allen the first time, he explained everything in detail. Everything he said was correct. The men who did the work were polite and respectiful, and were clean and neat in the work process. Thank you guys. I would recommend an Interlock Roof for every home, or any building and the long term ">cost is less than another roof system.

Sorry I didn’t get this to you sooner, but I just wanted to drop you a line on the excellent installation of my roof by Nazar and Sergei. They installed our roof in February and never let the harsh weather affect their attention to detail and their determination to do quality work. I was very fortunate to get these two Ukrainian gentlemen as my installers.

Review: August 25, 2007 Completion: April 27, 2007

I am writing to tell you how much my wife and I are satisfied with our new roof from Interlock Roofing. Our old asphalt shingles were showing the effects of time both aesthetically and functionally. Most noticeably was the water mark on the living room ceiling that just kept growing with each passing rain. We certainly weren't looking forward to buying a new roof, since we were still paying for our wedding six months before, but knew we had to do something soon. I mentioned to Dawn that I had heard metal roofs were becoming popular because of how long they last; but she was concerned our home would look like a fast food restaurant, a factory, or even worse a tin roof barn. She made it clear that a modern looking metal roof would ruin the look of our 1860s vintage home. I said I thought I had seen a couple of years ago a house that was done with what I thought the sign said was metal but looked like shingles instead of ridged sheets she pictured. The problem was I couldn't remember the name of the roofer – just that they had an orange sign. A friend of our mentioned there was a Home Show coming up in Worchester and we figured it would be fun to look around and dream about improvements we could make. As we walked the aisles, I saw your familiar orange sign and product display booth. I said to Dawn look at this! This looks really nice – it looks just like " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">slate! Wouldn't that look really great on our house! Two weeks later, you explained what made Interlock Roofing different from other materials and the lifetime " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">warranty helped us feel confident in making what was for us a major purchase decision. Although an Interlock roof might cost more initially, we think it is well worth it knowing we will never have to buy another roof for this home again. Your company and crews are great! A representative called to let us know materials were being delivered and when they arrived they were neatly stored out of the way until the work began. A supervisor called to let us know when the work would begin, and except for two days of rain which delayed their start, the job was completed within the estimated three days. At the end of each day, they cleaned up after themselves and when the job was competed they raked up any pieces that may have been missed in the grass. The completed roof looks great and enhances the appearance of our home. We have had many people stop and compliment us on it and at least one had already installed an Interlock roof of their own. Should we ever move from this home in the future, one of the features we will look for is an Interlock roof or plan on upgrading to one in our new home as well.

Review: June 2, 2006 Completion: July 25, 2005

Just wanted to let you know that we are very satisfied with the aluminum interlocking roof which was installed in July of 2005. It was amazing to us how quickly and efficiently your men worked in removing our old asphalt layers of roof and installing the new one. Needless to say, we were very impressed with their work as well as our new roof! Unfortunately, during installation of the roof, damage was done to the interior ceiling of our dining room. Interlock did respond and the damaged area was repaired in a timely manner. Unfortunately our existing ceilings are plaster and the repaired area was done in wallboard which simply do not match. In order for this to be repaired properly, the entire ceiling has to be repainted with a light texture. Whatever you can do to help rectify the pending repair to the interior ceiling would be greatly appreciated. We look forward to speaking with you in the near future. Once again, thank you for offering us the opportunity to upgrade our home with an outstanding roof.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Litchfield

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Litchfield, Connecticut. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Litchfield.

How does a metal roof handle the snow Litchfield gets, and will ice dams form?

Metal roofs shed snow more readily than asphalt because aluminum's smooth interlocking surface doesn't trap moisture the way shingles do. Litchfield averages about 65 cm of snow annually plus roughly 72 freeze-thaw cycles per year—conditions that cycle ice on and off constantly. The lightweight design means snow load isn't a structural concern, and the thermal conductivity of aluminum combined with proper attic ventilation actually discourages ice dam formation at the eaves. Four-way interlocking panels prevent any water infiltration if snow does pool temporarily.

Will freeze-thaw cycling crack or damage a metal roof over time?

Freeze-thaw damage requires a material that absorbs water and expands when frozen—aluminum does neither. Your roof experiences roughly 72 freeze-thaw days annually, but aluminum's oxide layer expands and contracts uniformly without cracking, splitting, or curling. Unlike wood shingles or concrete tile, there's no porous substrate for water to penetrate and freeze. The Alunar PVDF coating is warrantied 30 years against breakdown from these cycles, and the material itself carries a lifetime limited warranty. Asphalt shingles, by contrast, harden and become brittle in these conditions.

Can a metal roof stand up to Litchfield's wind gusts and nor'easters?

Litchfield's typical wind gusts reach 126 km/h (about 78 mph), with nor'easters occasionally pushing higher. Interlock's four-way interlocking aluminum panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed to specification—well above what your region produces. The mechanical interlock (not fastener-dependent) distributes wind load across the entire roof plane rather than concentrating stress at nail holes like asphalt shingles. This design survives the seasonal gusts that can lift or tear conventional roofing, and it costs nothing extra to achieve this protection.

Does a metal roof reduce hail damage, and can it qualify for insurance breaks?

Interlock metal roofing carries a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. That durability often qualifies homeowners for insurance discounts on comprehensive coverage, though you'll need to verify with your carrier. Litchfield's thunderstorm season brings hail risk, and asphalt shingles commonly fail UL 2218 Class 2 (if tested at all). Your insurance agent will recognize Class 4 as a significant loss-prevention feature; some carriers reduce premiums by 10–20% for non-combustible roofing.

Will heavy rain leak through the seams of a metal roof?

No—the four-way interlocking panel design creates a cascade barrier: water flows off the top of one panel and onto the top of the one below it, without ever trying to enter a seam. Litchfield receives about 1,232 mm of rain per year, plus 65 cm of snow melt, and these roofs don't develop leaks from any of it when installed to spec. The seams are mechanical interlocks, not sealed joints vulnerable to caulk failure. Asphalt roofs rely on nail sealing and adhesive that deteriorates; metal interlocks are passive—no sealant to break down, no fastener holes exposed to standing water.

Is a metal roof so heavy it will need new trusses or reinforcement?

The opposite: Interlock's Cedar Shingle profile installs at about 0.41 lb/sq ft, and the Mediterranean Tile—which replicates the heaviest-looking option—weighs roughly 0.59 lb/sq ft. That's about 96% lighter than the concrete or clay tile it mimics, and even asphalt shingles are heavier per square foot. You can install over most existing roofs without structural work. The lightweight design matters in Litchfield because winter snow accumulation (65 cm annually) adds real weight to the roof plane, and the lower metal roof weight means your home carries less total load during those freeze-thaw cycles common to the region.

Can an Interlock metal roof cut cooling costs in summer?

Yes—energy-efficient Interlock colors achieve thermal emissivity of 0.84 and initial solar reflectance up to 0.55, meaning they reflect rather than absorb summer heat the way dark asphalt does. Litchfield averages about 3,134 sunshine hours per year, and those reflective coatings reduce heat transfer into your attic during warm months. Cool Roof Rating Council certification confirms measurable energy savings. Over a 50-year roof life, the energy performance difference between metal and asphalt becomes substantial. Metal doesn't compete with dark asphalt on heat absorption—it deliberately avoids it.

Is a metal roof really the last roof you'll buy, and does the cost make sense?

Interlock's lifetime limited material warranty covers the original owner, and it transfers once—giving the next owner 50 years from completion. Asphalt shingles fail at 15–25 years in freeze-thaw climates like Litchfield (72 cycles per year accelerates deterioration), requiring expensive tear-off and disposal of heavy waste. One metal roof replacement cycle replaces 2–3 asphalt cycles. Over 75 years, labor and disposal costs on multiple asphalt jobs often exceed a single metal installation. Current regional promotion offers no payments and no interest until Spring 2027 or 10% off installation—making the math even clearer.

How much upkeep does a metal roof need compared to asphalt or wood?

Virtually none. Aluminum doesn't rot, split, curl, or lose granules like asphalt shingles do. Wood shakes require regular treatment against mold and insect damage in Litchfield's humid, 72-freeze-thaw-day climate. Metal roofs are CALGreen-verified for reduced maintenance because the material itself is inert: no painting, no re-sealing, no replacing individual compromised sections. Occasional gutter cleaning is your only task. The Alunar coating eliminates the need for roof paint refreshes that asphalt owners sometimes consider. The lifetime warranty doesn't require annual inspections or maintenance logs to remain valid.

Who installs Interlock roofing in Litchfield, and how long does installation take?

Interlock Metal Roofing (New England) Inc. has served Litchfield County since 1999 and knows the local building code, climate stresses, and installer-approved best practices. Most residential installations complete in 2–5 days depending on roof size and complexity. Installation happens over existing roof in most cases, eliminating the debris and disruption of a traditional tear-off. The installer verifies IRC/IBC compliance via the ICC-ES evaluation report ESR-1790 (reissued 2025). Current promotion covers financing (no payments or interest until Spring 2027) or immediate 10% savings—allowing you to choose the timeline that fits your budget.
