> We had the pleasure of meeting Jonathan Brown at the Mohegan Sun Home Show and couldn’t pass up the opportunity to tell him how happy we are with our Interlock roof of ~20 years. We constantly receive compliments from people passing by on how beautiful it looks. Most of all, we appreciate the peace of mind it gives us—knowing we’ll never have to replace our roof, thanks to the lifetime warranty and guaranteed protection against leaks.

Review: November 15, 2024 Completion: November 19, 2024

It was a pleasure working with Interlock from beginning to end. The back office was good about setting expectations for job start and duration, delivery of materials (which happened on time) and work to be performed. They were also good about making adjustments to work with trim that needed to be replaced, etc. The crew that did the install and cleanup was very professional and hard working. I am extremely satisfied with the end result and would definitely recommend Interlock! This is actually my second roof, I had one installed on a different property 20 years ago and it has held the test of time with virtually no maintenance.

Salesman was very courteous and polite. Straight forward no hype or fluff. Company kept constant contact, took care of the required building permits. Had the dumpster and materials delivered on time and removed quickly. The crew was phenomenal, polite courteous. Explained everything, and was very conscientious about their work. If the the nail didn't go in the way he liked he pulled it and did it right. Nailing was all done by hand. Roof has been great since no issues and still looks great. Over all very pleased and well worth the money.

Couldn’t have chosen a better product, it’s been 2 years since installation and have absolutely no issues. The house is cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. Speaking of winter it’s only a matter of hours after a snow storm that all the snow slides right off, no more ice dams and ice filled gutters. The installers were awesome had the entire roof done in a day and a half and cleaned up prior to leaving. We love our Interlock roof.

This letter has been a long time in coming. My husband and I had an Interlock Roof installed in November 2009 and have been meaning to tell you how pleased we are with the look of the new roof and the service provided by the installers ~ Nazaar and Vitality. We’ve gotten many questions and compliments from friends, neighbors and passersby. Both our home and detached garage needed to be re-roofed, with both requiring removal of the old roofing material and the installation of plywood before applying the Interlock product. We were originally told that it would take up to 2 weeks for the job to be completed. To our amazement, the job was completed within a week’s time and that included inclement weather! Nazaar and Vitaliy put in very long days, were very polite, honored their commitments and ALWAYS cleaned everything up before they left for the day. We have children and a dog and found not one nail in the yard after the job was completed. Based on this experience and a product that speaks for itself, we would definitely recommend an Interlock Roof!

I wish to thank " target="\_blank" rel="noopener">Interlock Industries, Inc. for a great roofing system. I'm 100% satisfied and it has a clean and beautiful look. It's great! It's wonderful to know the roof never need replacement again. I also wish to thank Bob Allen, Jerry and Paul McAllister for being so helpful in completing the work. I know this " target="\_blank" rel="noopener">roof system was right when we met Bob Allen the first time, he explained everything in detail. Everything he said was correct. The men who did the work were polite and respectiful, and were clean and neat in the work process. Thank you guys. I would recommend an Interlock Roof for every home, or any building and the long term ">cost is less than another roof system.

Sorry I didn’t get this to you sooner, but I just wanted to drop you a line on the excellent installation of my roof by Nazar and Sergei. They installed our roof in February and never let the harsh weather affect their attention to detail and their determination to do quality work. I was very fortunate to get these two Ukrainian gentlemen as my installers.

Review: August 25, 2007 Completion: April 27, 2007

I am writing to tell you how much my wife and I are satisfied with our new roof from Interlock Roofing. Our old asphalt shingles were showing the effects of time both aesthetically and functionally. Most noticeably was the water mark on the living room ceiling that just kept growing with each passing rain. We certainly weren't looking forward to buying a new roof, since we were still paying for our wedding six months before, but knew we had to do something soon. I mentioned to Dawn that I had heard metal roofs were becoming popular because of how long they last; but she was concerned our home would look like a fast food restaurant, a factory, or even worse a tin roof barn. She made it clear that a modern looking metal roof would ruin the look of our 1860s vintage home. I said I thought I had seen a couple of years ago a house that was done with what I thought the sign said was metal but looked like shingles instead of ridged sheets she pictured. The problem was I couldn't remember the name of the roofer – just that they had an orange sign. A friend of our mentioned there was a Home Show coming up in Worchester and we figured it would be fun to look around and dream about improvements we could make. As we walked the aisles, I saw your familiar orange sign and product display booth. I said to Dawn look at this! This looks really nice – it looks just like " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">slate! Wouldn't that look really great on our house! Two weeks later, you explained what made Interlock Roofing different from other materials and the lifetime " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">warranty helped us feel confident in making what was for us a major purchase decision. Although an Interlock roof might cost more initially, we think it is well worth it knowing we will never have to buy another roof for this home again. Your company and crews are great! A representative called to let us know materials were being delivered and when they arrived they were neatly stored out of the way until the work began. A supervisor called to let us know when the work would begin, and except for two days of rain which delayed their start, the job was completed within the estimated three days. At the end of each day, they cleaned up after themselves and when the job was competed they raked up any pieces that may have been missed in the grass. The completed roof looks great and enhances the appearance of our home. We have had many people stop and compliment us on it and at least one had already installed an Interlock roof of their own. Should we ever move from this home in the future, one of the features we will look for is an Interlock roof or plan on upgrading to one in our new home as well.

Review: June 2, 2006 Completion: July 25, 2005

Just wanted to let you know that we are very satisfied with the aluminum interlocking roof which was installed in July of 2005. It was amazing to us how quickly and efficiently your men worked in removing our old asphalt layers of roof and installing the new one. Needless to say, we were very impressed with their work as well as our new roof! Unfortunately, during installation of the roof, damage was done to the interior ceiling of our dining room. Interlock did respond and the damaged area was repaired in a timely manner. Unfortunately our existing ceilings are plaster and the repaired area was done in wallboard which simply do not match. In order for this to be repaired properly, the entire ceiling has to be repainted with a light texture. Whatever you can do to help rectify the pending repair to the interior ceiling would be greatly appreciated. We look forward to speaking with you in the near future. Once again, thank you for offering us the opportunity to upgrade our home with an outstanding roof.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Roxbury

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Roxbury, Connecticut. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Roxbury.

How does a metal roof handle Connecticut's snow and ice buildup?

Roxbury receives about 87 cm of snow annually, and metal's smooth, hard surface sheds snow and ice far more effectively than asphalt. Interlock's four-way interlocking aluminum panels create a unified surface that prevents ice dams—the root cause of water damage in freeze-thaw cycles. With roughly 90 freeze-thaw days per year here, that durability matters: aluminum's oxide layer doesn't degrade from repeated freezing, and the coating warranty covers 30 years against cracking and peeling that would expose substrate. Snow guards are available if you prefer to manage snow strategically rather than let it slide.

Does freeze-thaw cycling damage aluminum metal roofs?

No. Roxbury experiences approximately 90 freeze-thaw days yearly—a severe test for brittle materials. Aluminum expands and contracts with temperature swings but does not crack, curl, or split. The 3105-H24 / 3003-H24 aluminum alloy (ASTM B209) is inherently flexible and retains its structural integrity through repeated cycles. Unlike asphalt shingles, which curl and embrittle, or wood shakes, which check and split, Interlock's roofing-grade aluminum actually strengthens with thermal cycling. The self-healing oxide layer means micro-scratches from hail or debris seal themselves, preventing corrosion initiation.

Can a metal roof rust in a climate with heavy rain and freeze cycles?

Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron—the element that oxidizes and produces rust's red, flaking degradation. Instead, aluminum forms a transparent oxide layer that self-heals when scratched. Roxbury's ~1158 mm of annual rainfall and occasional coastal salt-air influence (common in New England) would devastate steel roofing, but aluminum is chemically stable in salt spray and acidic rain. Interlock applies the Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish to both panel sides for extra protection, warranted 30 years against chalking and fading. Over a 60+ year lifespan, aluminum's corrosion resistance delivers genuine cost savings where steel would require maintenance or replacement.

Will a metal roof stay secured during Roxbury's wind gusts?

Roxbury's typical wind gusts reach 119 km/h (about 74 mph), with rare extremes near 193 km/h (120 mph). Interlock's four-way interlocking aluminum panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph when installed to specification—meaning your roof is engineered for the worst-case conditions this region can produce. The mechanical locking design distributes uplift forces across all four edges of each panel, preventing the separation and flutter that cause blow-offs in strip-shingle roofs. Combined with proper fastening into solid deck, this system has been field-proven from coastal Atlantic homes to Antarctic research stations where wind loads are extreme.

Does hail damage a metal roof, and can it reduce insurance costs?

Interlock carries a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the Guardian Warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Class 4 is the same rating insurers use to award premium discounts for roofing that resists damage. Aluminum's hardness and elasticity mean hail dents the surface but rarely punctures it, unlike asphalt shingles, which tear and granulate, exposing substrate. Many insurers now offer reduced premiums for metal roofs with UL 2218 Class 4 certification, so over 30+ years, you may recover part of your installation cost through lower claims risk and reduced rates. Request quotes from your carrier mentioning the ICC-ES ESR-1790 evaluation (reissued 2025).

Can my Roxbury home's structure support a metal roof without reinforcement?

Yes. Interlock's aluminum is extraordinarily light: the Mediterranean Tile profile installs at roughly 0.59 lb/sq ft, making it about 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile. Most existing roof structures—built to carry asphalt, which is far heavier—can support aluminum without any reinforcement. The Slate profile is even lighter at 0.41 lb/sq ft. This weight advantage means you can install Interlock over your existing roof decking and shingles, eliminating costly tear-off labor and avoiding a trip to the landfill. Your home's framing, which has already proven it can support a full roof load, handles aluminum as if you've removed weight, not added it.

How does metal roofing handle Roxbury's 1,158 mm of annual rainfall?

Interlock's four-way interlocking panels overlap and lock horizontally and vertically, creating a unified surface that sheds water immediately. Roxbury's substantial ~1158 mm annual rainfall meets the solid-deck installation standard: your existing roof or decking becomes the secondary weather barrier. Panels are installed over this solid substrate plus underlayment, creating the same two-barrier leak protection that asphalt uses—but metal's hard surface accelerates water runoff and prevents the pooling and saturation that causes shingle rot and granule loss. The ICC-ES ESR-1790 evaluation confirms compliance with IBC/IRC rain-tightness standards. When properly installed, aluminum roofing delivers superior leak protection in high-rainfall climates because water cannot saturate the material itself.

How much maintenance does an aluminum metal roof need?

Minimal. Asphalt shingles in Roxbury's ~90 freeze-thaw days yearly curl, crack, and require frequent repairs or replacement every 15–20 years. Wood shakes split and rot, needing annual inspection and treatment. Aluminum requires only occasional gutter cleaning and a visual inspection every few years—no sealant reapplication, no moss treatment, no granule replacement. The Alunar 70% PVDF coating is self-cleaning: Roxbury's 3074 annual sunshine hours and regular rainfall naturally wash the surface. Most owners spend roughly 15 minutes per year on maintenance. The Guardian Warranty covers the material for the original owner's lifetime, and one-time transfer gives the next owner 50 years, eliminating surprise repair costs that plague other roof types.

Is a metal roof worth the upfront cost compared to asphalt shingles?

Over the roof's life, yes. Asphalt costs less upfront but requires replacement every 15–25 years in Roxbury's climate—meaning 2–3 full tear-offs and landfill cycles within 60 years. Interlock, warranted for the original owner's lifetime plus 50 years for the next owner via one-time transfer, installs once. Factor in avoided replacement labor, multiple tear-off costs, landfill fees, insurance premiums (lower with UL 2218 Class 4), and potential resale premium, and aluminum becomes the lowest total-cost option. Current regional promotion: no payments and no interest until Spring 2027, or 10% off installation, which front-loads your savings. A 60-year roof is simply cheaper to own than replacing asphalt three times.
